Setting herself down on a flat outcropping, Sitara scanned the cliffs. She knew that the Sea Pink wildflower she needed grew on these sea-side cliffs. Her human, Kassie, made potpourri with the flowers and loved the little flowers for bouquets and flower headbands. Ruffling her wings, the mare cautiously moved forward, keeping a close eye on the edge of the cliff. She knew this area had loose stones, and could often be susceptible to rock slides. Which is why she left Kassie back in the glades. Heaven forbid a rock slide occurred, Tara could get away faster and safer then if she had the tiny human with her. The downside of that was she didn't have the human and her hands to pluck the flowers off the cliffs.

Glancing up, Tara spotted the flowers she needed, tucked in a precarious crevasse in the jagged rocks. There was no way she'd be able to get the flowers from that location, it was just too dangerous. She'd just have to keep looking, and if push came to shove, she could probably stick her head in just enough to snag a few. Or she could just swing back and grab Kassie, depending on the weather. It was getting windy, and Tara was pretty sure a storm was brewing just over the mountains to the north. Making a mental note of the location, the darkly coated mare took off again, scanning the rocky outcroppings. There had to be more of the flowers somewhere... Ah ha!

Dipping down, Tara landed again on a narrow shelf, just below the small collection of flowers. Lifting onto her hind legs, the mare stretched her neck up, snagging the bunch in one go. Gently placing the flowers in her satchel, Tara glanced around again. This wasn't near enough to fulfill the order Kassie had, and she didn't see another grouping of the flowers anywhere but her previous location. Heading back up to the cliff, the mare planned her attack. She was smart, she could figure this out, and get back home before the storm hit.

Kokkinos let the wind off the sea run through his wings, toss the feathers in his hair. It wasn't often he made a trip to the sea, and he marveled at the expanse of it. Even with the strongest wings, one could not cross the water. Those few he had seen with fins would have a much better chance at it. He couldn't hear much over the sound of the wind, but he wasn't blind to another creature on the wing. The color in her wings shown like the sun off the water, her coat the color of the deep sea. She, like he, seemed to be scavenging for certain plants. Though it seem like the object of her attention was a bit out of her reach. It wasn't surprising, a lot of the plants that grew here were hard to reach, doubly so for one who didn't have claws with which to grab. The plant she had collected was not one he was searching for. He was searching for a night-blooming lavender that only grew here. He had just come early so that he had a chance to see admire the sea. Still, it would cost him nothing to help the winged mare obtain what she was after.

With a powerful lunge forward, Koki launched himself off the cliff edge, wings catchings the air and letting him bank around quickly. Efficiently. He could see the mare was going to come back for the flowers she had passed earlier. He could also see it wouldn't be safe for her attempt. It wouldn't be hard for him, especially with the storm rushing toward the coast.

He let the wind push him into the cliffs, using his wings to adjust how he would land. His back hooves slammed into the rock-face, sending small stones raining down, as he dug into the stone with both of his claws, fixing himself in place. Koki stayed still for only a moment before he pulled one of his claws free and reached over to snag as the pink flowers. He took his time, gathering them together so that he could get as many as he could. Keeping his wings folded tightly against his back kept the wind from moving him too much, his hooves stabilizing him. He could take his time.

A crack of thunder, distant, somewhere over the water, distracted him a moment. Koki cast a frown over his shoulder. He needed to hurry. Which meant leaving some of the flowers behind. Hopefully it would be enough.

Keeping the small flowers clutched carefully in one claw, he yanked his claw from the rock and let himself fall. Snapping his wings out, he let the winds carry him back up to the top of the cliff. He nodded at the mare to join him and held up the claw with the flowers in it. Hopefully, she would collect what he had gathered for her and return to her home before the storm hit.

Of course, with the storm rolling it, it meant he wouldn't be able get what he came for. But that was fine. He could wait for the storm to pass.

On her return pass, the dark mare spotted the large stallion seconds before he made his move diving for the very flowers she was headed for. Fear clenched her chest tight, making it difficult to take a breath. Even from this distance, the mare could see he dwarfed her, black claws glinting as they dug into the sheer rock cliff. Large wings moved him with easy in the gusty conditions, and just as quickly as he'd decended down he was on his way back up to the top of the cliff, flowers in tow. His gesture caught her attention, and her chest got even tighter. He wanted her to come up there? Swallowing down her nerves, the mare gave a jerky nod in response, and forced her wings to take her in his direction.

Steeling her courage, Tara pumped her wings using the air currents to boost her further into the sky. She was fine, there was no need to panic. It was obvious he'd grabbed the flowers for her, and he was just being kind. Right? Of course... she'd thought HE was just being kind as well, and where did that get her? Terrified of every new stallion the crossed her path like some filly. She had learned the hard way trust was earned, and that caution was a fair responce to meeting new Soquili. The wound was still so fresh, she hadn't quite be able to morph the fear into caution. Had this chance meeting occured mere months ago, Tara would already know the stallions name and be well on her way to making friends with him. Cleary he was here for a similar reason to her. But now? Fear and mistrust rode her hard, forcing her to land a short distance away.

Sucking in a deep breath and forcing her heart to slow to a normal rate, she faced the stallion. He was even more impressive up close, and Tara tried her hardest not to shake like a leaf in the heavy winds. In another time, she could see herself finding him attractive. He WAS attractive... but damn that fear. He even took her hope from her, that red-coated b*****d. Reminding herself of her manners, Tara dipped her head in a greeting.

"Uh... Hello there. I'm Sitara... Thank you for getting those for me. They weren't in the easiest location for me to snag." Good job girl. Two full sentences, and you only stuttered twice. Keep this up and you'll be good as new in the next decade or so.
