The rumours were that her father had put several of these beasts in their place - by the sounds of it he didn't speak very highly of this region and while she hadn't met him, she was beginning to suspect she might know why. Whomever had been sent to guard the borders was a little lack luster today and certainly didn't give the impression of a battle hardened pride.
Lazy.
She shook her head at this, Vir had already stepped forth to take the first challenge and Persephone had agreed to take the second. In the end the aim was to determine if there was any value in this group of lions. Depending on the power that the individuals they faced possessed, they might yet prove their worth.
...Alas, given only one lioness had stepped forward to address them amidst the large number loitering on the border, she didn't hold out much hope.
Pressing her lips into a firm line she regarded her opponent and lifted a brow. She would provide Hila with rest i she needed it, but if the Stormborn lioness desired to battle without respite then she was not so noble as to dissuade her.

Hila panted slightly, slightly winded after the conclusion of her first challenge - she'd always considered herself skilled, despite not having had to fight against other lions in seriousness before, but had only managed a tie in her first one. It wasn't the worst outcome, but it hadn't been the best, either...gritting her teeth, she turned to face the next closest lioness in the band she'd come across, eyes narrowing slightly as she sized her up.
"Come on, then, unless you have flowers in your veins," she snarled, refusing to show any weakness.

Persephone was her father's daughter and didn't give rise to the bait that Hila had presented - the black and grey lioness had done well against the eldest of their group but she hadn't managed to best her. Vir had always been a scout and a spy, she'd had no interest in pure combat and as a consequence, Hila would have much more to prove before she would persuade these Nergui that her pride was worthy of respect.
Oh please... Her internal voice spoke as she slipped forward and regarded the lioness.
This would be easy, not exactly complimentary to Persephone in regards to her skill... But if the young lioness was worth her salt then perhaps she would actually put up a challenge. Persephone doubted this, Hila was clearly tired, but she would at least give her the chance to try and put her money where her mouth was.
Much like Vir though, it seemed Persephone had a distinct opening style and she too scarcely moved before plunging forward into a pounce. Evidently the first two weren't inclined to give themselves away before they were ready to act.
