:[ VDay 2019 ORP ]: Lovers Games

[FA Mysteries]

A brilliant flash illuminated the grand ball room of Venus' new temple. The shadows had no where to hide in that split second of pure light. Nine figures hidden among the party were visible but only by that split second. Thunder cracked so loud the walls shook.

Outside, an angry and violent storm had flown in on Las Venus. Rain poored making it impossible to escape the party without threat of being swept away with the rain and the wind.

A second flash of lightning and the figures were no where to be found.

But that doesn't mean they are gone.

Let chaos rain!

Bahaha! What a riot! This was great! They basically had free reign of the place and those lovey-dovey fools were just sitting around on their backsides like a bunch of drunken idiots! She was about to unleash a bit more of her 'fun' when the brilliant flash illuminated the area, exposing their hiding places in the shadows. If only for a moment.

Curses!

By the time the lightning flashed again, she was gone, safely out of sight. Wouldn't do for the game to end so soon! Chuckling to herself, the shadowy figure neared another, whispering between her giggles, "Ooooh, you've really done it now, Algy! The pink powderpuff is on the warpath!" With a cackle touched with madness, the shadow slipped away from its kin and out of sight once more.

With how distracted the party-goers were with their flirting and drink, it had been a figurative cakewalk for him to slip in unnoticed. Even when his hunger struck an unfortunate fool, nobody thought their sudden need strange; if anything, it seemed to be regarded as perfectly normal. Normally he'd have preferred for a bigger return on his investment of effort, but it was strangely thrilling to see a progressive change on occasion.

A creepy smile that seemed a bit too large for his face crept into his expression as he heard the real festivities begin. She'd gone for the big target, eh? What a lunatic!

Not that he was one to talk.

His smile instantly disappeared as his cover was blown by the lightning outside; he'd become careless with how things were progressing almost too smoothly. Rookie mistake, but it seemed he wasn't the only one to have slipped up by the sudden shift in weather. With a glance over to a certain someone that always seemed to make things a pain - he wouldn't say who - the figure clicked his tongue in irritation before he disappeared from sight once more.

Psyche rolled her eyes, not a stranger to Venus' outbreaks. But this was the first one in a long time that she knew to happen in public. It exposed a crack in her armor and Psyche might have taken a little delight in that. She was still angry, yes, but more level headed than her monster-in-law.

When the lightning flashed, she stopped and stood still. It did not escape her attention that there were several-not one-beings here that should not be here. EJ wasn't the only one in danger.

Who are they? Their main adversary was gone.

The second lightning flash and they were all gone. Psyche swallowed hard and her eyes darted around the room. This was when she noticed the party goers were suffering too. Whatever these things were, they were dangerous. She flew over to Venus and pounded on her vine barrier. "You need to be out here. Your party guests are in peril from an unseen force. The target isn't just EJ. There is suffering and discord... wait? Where is ERIS!?"

The Goddess pulled at the vines trying to get to Venus. She had better not hide from this.

He was carefully watching his created chaos, plotting his next move. If he was strategic enough in his placement he wouldn't have to ping an arrow into everyone to spread his special kind of trouble.

He lifted his head as the light flashed revealing him and the rest. Oh, was it time for their grand debut? He quickly struck a menacing pose before fleeing once more into the shadows. The ordeal going on between Venus and Psyche had been enough to catch his attention, and he wasn't about to get caught in the crossfire of the wrath that would soon be coming for his sister. He hadn't shot the precious heir. At least Venus' wrath was the perfect thing to brighten up this otherwise dull and lovey affair.

Having some technical difficulties with reality himself, Beltan watched the mental breakdown of the other male with a certain amount of detachment while he assessed his own situation.

He'd never sung a day before in his life. Well, that couldn't be right. He was an accomplished singer of some renown in certain circles.

He'd only come to this party to babysit. Wrong again. Clearly, he was a spy on a top secret and very important mission... WHICH HE HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN ABOUT!

Tuning back in, he told the tentacle-headed pae, "I really don't care who you are." Lie. He was actually very curious. "I don't have time for this nonsense, anyway." Another one. Hjortur and Kelebek had long since ditched him and he'd been perfectly content making a fool of himself for Golden Oasis. "If you'll both excuse me," he finished, turning away and moving in the direction he'd last spotted his mark.

The sudden flash of lightning and wall-shaking thunder just added ambiance to his personal tale of intrigue~

When Hanna went in for a hug, Selich initially tensed, thinking she'd simply traded her desire for a wrestling match with the demoness for one with him. So it was with great surprise that he found himself being held onto and looked at like he was all she ever wanted.

Flushing an ever more brilliant shade of red, at almost the exact moment what she was saying registered, Selich felt a little pinch between his shoulder blades. Confused, he couldn't remember why he'd discouraged her from wrestling when it seemed like the best idea for a good party. "We dinnae hafta be apart, no. Ah'd rather we weren't ta be frank. Wha d'ya say to a wee drink, eh?" he asked innocently, but with an odd gleam in his eyes.

[Arrow - anarchy] Selich -> Hanna; nothing untoward, mind you. He just intends to get drunk and make some trouble ^^

Malachite was just about to agree with Ikkarus on tracking down some fun when the lighting and thunder struck, temporarily shaking him from his train of thought. The flash left weird little trailers in his vision and he blinked rapidly, really taking in what was going on around them for the first time.

Here and there were couples looking lost in each other's eyes or dancing and laughing together. That seemed on the up-and-up. Under the surface, though, some of it seemed...forced, maybe? Like they would never have acted that way under other circumstances. Then there were pae shoving food into their faces like they'd never eaten before and others who seemed intent on causing havoc, upending tables and peeing in the fountains...

"Uh.. Maybe we should go find mom..."

Quicker at hiding from the flash of light simply by virtue of not being there to cause trouble like some others, a 10th figure moved around the edges of the party, tsking under its breath and shaking its head.

Taking careful aim, another arrow flies~

Saira has been struck! But what does this arrow do, I wonder?

 

[Fea Line]

Finally a chance to have real fun! Slipping through the shadows, the fem figure simply watched, gigling to herself at the altercations going on. A wide grin spread across her features as a manic laughter began to bubble up in her throat. At least, until the flash of light had revealed their figures, even if momentarily.

Hissing, the fem darted behind a pillar and for renewed shadow coverage. She eyed the others in the room, both friend and foe, her eyes twitching as she calculated her next move. She paused as the wiz of an arrow shot past her ear. Crouching low in the shadows, she chuckled, moving along them towards the rest of her companions, bow and arrow ever aimed and ever at the ready.

One moment she was looking at her most beloved prince ever and then next...The next moment something was wrong. Her...Her wings...Weren't her own...What...When...She started to grab at her back wildly as her breathing became hard. She was starting to panic. These weren't her wings! Scars scars where were the scars there had to be scars she knew there were scars WHERE WERE THE SCARS! No no no no no no no no NO These were not hers no she needed them off right now!

The pink angel starts to pull on one of her wings with all her might, ripping out the beautiful feathers...

Kleta's eyes had also wandered over to the commotion going on near Eros Jr. He appeared to be in great pain. Her eyes narrowed as she looked him over from where they stood, "An arrow?" Kleta pondered out loud. "I've never seen any of our arrows actually cause pain before..." Perhaps a real one could have accidentally slipped in among the enchanted ones... That would hurt, but EJ was in agony far more that she had ever seen from any greenling when hit with their first arrow. "Something is not right, sister." Kleta said to Phaenna, tugging on her arm to encourage her to come up from hiding. "I think it is best we find out what is going on, lest we be in certain trouble for letting whatever this is continue on."

Kleta quickly traded out her bow for her spear and began to slowly wander through the crowds, looking for anything off. She found plenty that was off too, many of the mortals were acting strange, some in the usual sense of her sibling's fun, but some of it she couldn't place. It wasn't long before Kleta found the answer in the quickly approaching storm. As lightning flashed Kleta instantly noticed one of the nearby intruders. The green goddess quickly set off to pursue it, but when the light flashed again it was gone. Curses. She quickly spun around looking to see if the other intruders were still visible but they all were gone.

But wait... Who was that...

Phaenna sighed and stood up to follow after her sister. She was right but man did she not want to deal with her mad mother. She also swapped out her bow and arrows for her spear. A different arrow huh? "You're right, so it's not one of ours who's is it's? Artemis also has arrows and they can cause pain but I don't think she's here this year.." Artemis seldom came to these parties though it was a nice treat to see her when she did.

The sudden storm caught her off guard since mother always made sure it was to be a nice night for her special day. The room was illuminated by the lightening outside and even she could see the dark strange figures in the light. The light faded and they were gone when the second flash happened "What...." Her attention was brought back to Psyche who was trying to get mother's attention though a vine barrier. She was caught of guard by Psyche's question. Where was Eris? Good question! Wasn't she with Persephone? That was the last time she saw her right? Persephone was dragging Eris down into her domain when they had the cruise. Phaenna was becoming a bit nervous. "Kleta...Do you see Theras?" She knew her duty but she wanted to get him out of here as fast as possible. She needed to make sure he was safe.

[FA Goddess Eris]

A familiar laugh reverberated throughout the ballroom. It's impossible to pinpoint the source. The air feels heavy and a long-forgotten mist swirls in through the windows.

"Did you think I would stay gone forever?"

Eris, Goddess of Discord appeared on cue with another flash of lightning. She sat playfully in a window while watching the party below. While scanning the crowd her eyes landed on a tangle of vines. The Goddess of the Soul pounded as if her life depended on it.


"What have we here?"

Moving furniture was new, several easy places to move around now. Gotta give it to Allie, she knows how to kick start a party. Time to get a little more attention some where else while the powder-puff and her punching bag self-destructed. Wait, there was a harpy, moving target. She'd sing the sweetest lies. Starting to aim, lightening cut the fun like a knife. Slinking back, the shadow readjusted just in time to see her target taken. Oh jeeze, not him! Grumping, the shadow shifted and the arrow flew fixing the mistake.

He watched another arrow follow his to the same target and frowned, supremely annoyed. As far as he was concerned, this was not a fix.

Fine, he thought, sighting again. We can play this game. And he fired, knocking the arrow of lies away.

One of the moving tables shifted with a force unseen as irritation seethed. Two entities glared, as a battle occurred without a single move. A hiss then followed, sounding a lot like nails on a chalkboard crying out 'mine' before the arrow flew once more.

Minutes passed with no further interruption. Pleased with herself, she went to find another target when their Lady appeared.

Another arrow, another lie. Meeting her eyes from across the lobby, he remained straight-faced while he allowed her a moment to gloat.

"Perhaps you misunderstood me. I meant 'no'," he mouthed, deliberately nocking another arrow and, while still looking at his opponent, let fly once more.

That.Was.IT! Fire and furry followed. Sounds of battle reverberated next to Eris. Just as she finished her second question the wall beside her exploded inward leaving rubble and dust to plum. Looking closely guests might be able to make out two different shadows but the light of the storm and darkness of their entrance obscured any features
