Knowing full well that neither one was actually listening (the whispers were a dead giveaway and she was sure there were plenty of looks filled with meaning exchanged), Midoriko simply repeated her spiel twice over, hoping that they might pick up some of it through osmosis or something. More likely, though, she was just giving them time to plan their routes. Which was fine; she'd be watching since this was prime opportunity to embarrass them both...
In that stealthy way only moms are capable of, she loosened her grip without appearing to and waited for them to notice that they were free to go. Well, that they had the illusion of freedom, anyway. Her mom senses were more powerful than they realized. She knew the drill; Mala would go for a grandiose display while Ikk played the innocent card and followed his brother's lead. "Go, then," she said when she finished with the third set of warnings.
Malachite acknowledged Ikkarus' question with the barest of nods then rolled his eyes toward the buffet tables clearly designated for the teens attending the event. With his eyes, he told his brother to break right while he went left and they would convene at the food after losing their mom.
While this silent exchange was going on, Mala kept up a running commentary, talking over Midoriko's admonitions. "Unbelievable! We go to this silly thing because you want to, you say it'll be good for us, and then you accuse your loving sons of delinquency? Really, mother, would we shame you in public? My confidence is in shambles!" he cried dramatically at the same time he 'spun' out of her hold, unconsciously responding to the word 'go'. It was only after he was already moving that he realized she'd allowed him to escape.

Hjortur took Kel's anxious words and a passing cherub with a plate full of drinks as his cue. He flagged the creature over - was it giving him smirk? - and picked up two glasses for the pair of them. What kind of drink was it? Did it really matter? The cherub then proceeded to try and quite persistently offer the last drink of the tray to Beltan.
That was the opportune moment.
"Well, good luck with that. We shall be heading off by ourselves."
And with a practice motion learned from his younger years of wooing and making getaways in these venues, he gently pulled Kel along as he about faced and slipped into the crowd. He wove them in-between a number of pae before calling out back to the fish they'd ditched.
"Don't go too crazy without us!"
At that he offered Kel a playful smirk before he pulled her further into the crowd. They passed by a surprising number of teens in the process: a pair of blue and pink faunies, a young bird-pae chastising a rambunctious tikicat by the buffet table, and a pair of young boys that just clipped by them as they escaped by an older demon; was that their mom?

Why exactly was he going to this again? Neo glanced over at his teenaged son, walking beside him. Oh right, right. His son had asked to go. Had it only been just last year that he had gone to this event and met the mother of his son? It had felt like so much longer ago. Time was a funny thing once you became a parent. Although Neo had his reservations about going to this again, he also held onto some help that he might run into Enfys' mother again.
Honestly, the night of the last Venus day celebration he had attended was kind of a blur, he remembered Enfys' mother, although he wasn't certain that he had ever gotten her name, and the feelings that had overcome him that evening were something else. Neo wasn't certain he would feel the same way again if he actually saw her, or got to know her, but he could at least see if there was something to the chemistry that had apparently occurred that night.
It wasn't as if the consequences of that night had really been consequences, Enfys was great, and though the party had turned into quite the debacle, apart from his son, life had returned to normal. What was he so worried about? Perhaps he was in father bear mode and just concerned about what sort of trouble Enfys could get into.
"If you see some kids your age, I don't mind you hanging out... you don't need to stay with me all night, but please check in every once in a while." Hmm, yes it was definitely the father bear mode, as much as he wanted his son to have a good time, he wished he could make sure he stayed out of trouble all night. Why had he agreed to this?! Oh right, the hope he would reunite with his son's mother. [The contradiction about why he's here is intentional]
Enfys was buzzing with excitement. He couldn't believe he was actually getting to go to this thing. His dad said something to him, but he wasn't really listening, there was too much to see! "Oh, yeah, okay dad." He responded mindlessly in typical teenaged fashion. He hoped there would be some people closer to his age here, but for now. "Hey, let's head to the food. There should be some new stuff there, right?" Enfys was excited for anything new, the hotel itself was already new and exciting, he had never seen anything like this before. Surely a place like this would have so much experience to offer him.
Just like that, Enfys was off, darting towards the food table, weaving through the crowds easily because of his youthful size. He wasn't intentionally trying to lose his dad, but he was definitely going to have a hard time keeping up with the spirited boy.

...Why was he here?
Oh he knew how he was here. His mother practically dragged him out by his braid and continued pulling clear across the isle to get here. Then quickly ran away with a promise to 'come back later'. But WHY?
With a sigh he reflected back on yesterday. It was a good day, was able to sleep in until the afternoon. Then his mom barged in...something something party...something something 'friends'...something something sitting all day...Ah it was too much work to continue to dwell, he was already tired of remembering. The building in front of him was large and shiny. Not many pae were seen going in, but he was probably more than a little late. Maybe he could get away with just sitting right where Arlie had let him go at until she came back for him. He glanced around for a good spot. No chairs. Or beds. What a bother. Another deep sigh, and he started towards the entrance.
The tan teenager at the door barely got a glance at with her cheerful greeting, not wanting to engage in any sort of conversation which would delay him sitting down. Then down the hall into the main large room. As soon as he caught sight of a couch, he beelined for it. It looked big enough for him to even take a nap!

Her smile turned into a grin at the mention of the boat before she playfully nudged him with an arm. Venus parties always seemed to end up with something crazy going on, but at least she could rely on Azure to keep her safe. She always felt safe with him.
As they glided into the lobby, she kept close beside him, keeping their fingers entwined. Every so often she'd steal a glance at the angel, her heart feeling light at the thought of how lovely tonight would be. At least the first half, before everything went awry. She moved slightly infront to catch his gaze before mouthing 'I love you' in response to his anniversary wish. The grin had faded into a soft, happy smile.
What to drink...what to drink...Something fun. They didn't get to go out much, so tonight she would have something she ordinarily would not. Her eyes scanned for the drink table. Aha, amongst all the food there was one. She pointed at the bottles of what she assumed was a type of wine. A little alcohol to loosen the mood never hurt.
Aurelia's eyes scanned the room as she continued to nibble her bread, wondering where a certain blue sprite could be hiding. He had promised to come. He promised a date. And Wellspring was not the lying type. Shy, self conscious, a little mean, but not a liar.
And then, she saw a claw.
She'd know that claw from anywhere. Swish swish swish, her fluffy tail matched her excitement as she quickly made way towards the awkward male. "Wellspring! You look nice! I love baby blue." As she approached, her eyes moved to the bright red spot in his hand. A rose? Swish swish. Did he get her a rose? Swish swish swish. "Doesn't look like they're encouraging gambling this time, they weren't handing out any coins." A little giggle, remembering how she had tried her hand -and didn't do too bad- at slots.
Daisicle Hehehe Wellspring is also blue

Hanna looked around, feeling nostalgia at the familiar scene. The one she had been to just a year ago. The one where things... didn't quite go as planned. While she had gotten her adorable son out of all of it, she hadn't quite expected who the other... mother would be. She hadn't even remembered talking to any other females that night, yet somehow, they had gotten together. Still, while she may have missed her opportunity to get with whome she really wanted to, the night hadn't been an unpleasant one, and the outcome hadn't been unwelcome either.
She turned to her son who was standing around, looking at the place with a bored look on his face. "Beatrice, come on in! You know, not a lot of teenagers get to come here, at least not unless they have an escort! So you should feel lucky you know! And hey, you might find someone of your own here..." She said, grinning at him.
((Hanna is open for interaction!))
Beatrice sighed for what felt like the 100th time that night. His mom had dragged him out here. And he did not want to be here. He would have rather been at home, sleeping, or literally doing anything else. He had heard about how crazy it got here, and he had wanted to avoid it, but for some reason his mom, well the one he lived with at least, was just crazy about him finding someone. Though he knew she didn't care much about him actually finding the love of his life. She just wanted him to get out of the house more and socialize, so dragging him hear had apparently been her idea of making him "socialize" more.
He heard her gushing about the place and rolled his eyes. "Right. Well, I'm just going to go and find the food table." He said, before walking off, his mom mumbling something about teens and their bottomless pits for stomachs. He couldn't help but look back and give her a grin. And she waved back at him, so he knew it was all good.
Once he got there though, he couldn't help but feel his mouth water at the food table. He grabbed a plate and started to load it up, until he noticed another teen at the table. He grinned. At least he wasn't the only one here then. He wandered over to the other, picking various pieces of food along the way, until he finally weaved through the crowd. If his mom wanted him to socialize then he would at least try. "At least the food looks good right? You know what else they got around here?" Beatrice asked the other teen. Though he wasn't expecting too much of a response. After all, if there was one thing he could busy himself with, it was eating and he certainly didn't want to interrupt anyone else.
