Blue Haloth
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by Smerdle

User Image

Origin of Name: Haloth comes from the word halo, the open ring of light surrounding the head of a saint, as compared to nimbus, a solid gold disk reserved for higher powers. The words are sometimes used interchangeably, though they do have subtle differences.

Inspiration: Nimbus 2000

Harry Potter's first broom, the Nimbus 2000, was the latest and greatest broom at the time that it came out. It was later replaced by the Nimbus 2001, which Draco Malfoy would use to taunt Harry Potter. From the line of swift broomsticks created by the Nimbus Racing Broom Company, the Nimbus 2000 was the fastest broom of its year, 1991. It would later be eclipsed not only by the Nimbus 2001, but also the Firebolt. When Harry's Nimbus 2000 was destroyed by the Whomping Willow, it would be replaced by a Firebolt sent to him by none other than the notorious Sirius Black.

Personality: This good and sweet boy often falls into the shadow of his siblings. But Haloth has much to offer anyone, if only they dared stay to take notice. He's a very active young blue, with an ethic for hard work. Unfortunately, he is not his best advocate. He's not the first one to speak up when he's been wronged, and will definitely easily fall into being bullied if it comes to it. However, anyone who chose to take such a tact with Haloth certainly is missing out on what is right before them, which is a truly excellent dragon who has hearts of gold.

His accomplishments aren't usually of the flashy variety, but they are real and enduring. His love and devotion are deep, for he would endure considerable hardship for another, if only so that they might love him back. It's hard for him to be around so many vainglorious brothers, sisters, and cousins, for the limelight escapes him at every turn, and that leads him to an envious cycle replete with unkind internal thoughts directed toward himself. If only he had tried a bit harder he might have come out ahead! So and so always beats him. Maybe they're just better.

This little rain cloud needs a ball of sunshine, and shall be ever so grateful to anyone who does befriend him. And make no mistake, he is on every possible level worthy of friendship and love. He can be a great listener, and holds those he trusts in the highest regard. On that note, his trust is easily gained, which can lead to... awkward situations. Surrounded by so many duplicitous individuals, Haloth is in very real danger of being taken terrible advantage of.

Positive Traits: Energetic, Empathetic, Devoted, Trusting
Negative Traits: Envious, Sulky, Competitive, Insecure

Adult Size: 23'
Physical Attributes: This sleek little fellow is below average size for a blue, though not too far below. He is a slim, wiry creature who is more than able to hold his own against Thread. His wings are especially wide and his tail is rather long.

Additional Notes: Haloth will be an excellent flyer, possessing considerable speed and maneuverability. His flame is only medium length, but he certainly makes up for it by being a real trooper during Threadfall. His devoted hearts will come in handy when push comes to shove and it's time to prove himself before all of Pern. In love he will choose based on the feelings within his hearts, and that alone.

Theme Song: Human by Rag'n'Bone Man
Egg: A medium sized blue egg with a white cloud pattern. It seems excited to be where it is.

Why Me? Dearest Shanley, why do you have to hide who you are and who you want to be? Haloth noticed right away that Shanley has secret dreams, desiring nothing more than to be a Harper. Yet now she will be a rider, and though Haloth feels a little bad that he stole away her dreams, he cannot regret it. For Shanley possesses a confidence that Haloth lacks. At the same time, Haloth is more than able to place Shanley in the center of his world, giving her all of the devoted attention that she needs. This loving boy will give Shanley all of his hearts, if only she will have them. He thinks that they make quite the pair and hopes that she'll agree.

Blue Aviforth
Written by Prism Shine
Colored by Uta

User Image

Origin of Name: Derived from a combination of the latin word avid for “bird” and forma for “shape”.

Inspiration: Avifors is the transfiguration spell that transforms the target into a singular bird or into a flock of birds -- occasionally into a flock of bats, as well. The spell is vivid burst of blue light.

Personality: Excuse me, coming through -- the party is here, baby! Aviforth vyes to be the center of attention. He’s an attention hog from the get-go, wanting the spotlight to be on him. From the bright chipperness of his personality, to the fluidity of his body -- he’s here baby, come check him out! However, he’s not a completely selfish dragon, and doesn’t mind dragging someone into the spotlight, or sharing it when need be. Come share the light and dance with him, he doesn’t quite mind! Quite, being the operative word. Life is a party, why not enjoy it?

Aviforth radiates cheer out of every inch of his silky hide-covered body. There’s so much negativity between thread and everything else, why does everyone feel so negative about life? He’s there to breathe fun into everything. Games, happy chatter -- he’s there, Aviforth knows just what to do. Yet it often leads to him dancing and side-stepping around responsibility. He’s definitely not a dragon who has his eyes on the social ladder, and that’s perfectly fine by him! But chores and lessons will be an absolute bore, as will wing drills--and has a rather brattish take on them. Why fly a certain way when the sky is so limitless? He wants to be as free as a bird, not confined down to such limited space!

With a masterful control of his body, Aviforth is quite proud of his class clown title. He isn’t quite the smartest of his siblings and cousins, or at the very least seems to not learn his lessons. Why pay attention when he can show off for his siblings in how fun trying to stand on only his front two feet can be? Oh, a somersault! Let’s do that again, it gained some laughs! He loves to make someone happy! Playful at his core, it will take a lot of patience and gentle handling to find a balance for Aviforth--that there is time for play, but also needing to make time for work. It will be a very fine line to hammer down, for Aviforth’s sensitive sense of self wilts as he’s pressured to shape up--and will need gentle guidance to find that he doesn’t have to quite give up who he is just to get what’s needed done.

As he grows, Aviforth will find that everyone is pretty. Scars? Overweight? Missing bits? Nope! Everyone is pretty in his mind, for everyone is worth celebrating. Flirting will come a bit easier as he grows and matures, and finds his slinky body even more useful to cause dragons to stutter--often using his more playful, affectionate nature to brush up alongside a dragon, for Aviforth has always been a cuddler. From Golds down to Whites never escape his gaze, and he can always find something pleasing about any dragon.

Positive Traits: Flamboyant, Flirty, Playful
Negative Traits: Unfocused, Attention Hog, Brat

Adult Size: 33’

Physical Attributes: He’s a very fluid blue. He’s long, limber without being seen as lanky. Aviforth’s wings are large without being cumbersome, and this dragon always seems to have a mastery of his form, even when goofing around. Aviforth takes full advantage of his sleek form, for he is an active dragon. He sashays when he walks, and his wings are always in movement--using them more like fans as he dances through life. Once he’s able to fly, those massive fans will always be going, for his rider will have a hard time ever getting him back on the ground.

Additional Notes: Aviforth is a quirky dragon at his core. Out of his shell, he’s dancing to the beat of his own drum. His wings are wide and used more as an expressional show of whatever he’s feeling. Harpers will always have the biggest fan in Aviforth--especially ones that play more upbeat tunes! Flights are one thing this dragon enjoys -- flying and dragons to flirt with? The best of both worlds. Yet his eyes stray to all sides of every flight, for he appreciates dragons of all colors.

Theme Song: [x] - Hot Wings (I Wanna Party) - Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Will.i.am
Egg: Avifors Egg

Why Me? Oh, Cavera! Sweet, dear Cavera. He has waited so long for you. Aviforth is the Court Jester to your Queenly Court--for when a frown may grace your kind face or the tears may fall, he is here to coax a smile from the saddest of moods in any way that he can. He will always catch you before you fall, for he is the most reliable dance partner you could ever hope for -- and you will never feel alone again.

He is here to fly your dreams to the moons, yet will need your more grounded nature to make sure he comes back down to Pern. For his more vibrant personality will gain him some side eyes and negative remarks, and he will need that inner strength to remember to always be yourself, no matter what may be said.

Green Mosmordeth
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by -_Wish of Tevarae_-

User Image

Origin of Name: Mosmordeth, coming from Mosmorde, is named for the incantation that summons a holographic image of the Dark Mark. This spell was used to intimidate their enemies, as well as to mark where their victims lay. After a murder, Death Eaters would use the incantation to signify that they had killed. This struck terror into the hearts of those fighting them, as well as the Wizarding populace at large. To this day, the sight of the Dark Mark is a symbol of oppression and horror.

Inspiration: Death Eater

Followers of the Dark Lord Voldemort, otherwise known as Tom Marvolo Riddle, Death Eaters took part in the First and Second Wizarding Wars. Initially, they belonged to a group known as the Knights of Walpurgis, followers of Gellert Grindewald. They were a group of schoolmates, to start with, who all believed as Tom Marvolo Riddle did, that Muggleborns had no place in Wizarding society, and that Muggles ought to be eradicated, or else shown that wizards need not hide from them. Ultimately the group became known as Death Eaters, taking on Lord Voldemort's symbol, the Dark Mark. Although often of Slytherin House, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had followers in nearly ever House, including Gryffindor. It is notable that no Hufflepuffs became Death Eaters, with the exception of Cedric Diggory in an alternate timeline.

Death Eaters considered Light Wizards to be blood traitors, especially those who consorted with or took pity upon muggles. While some might feel sympathy for their plight as a group attempting to protect their heritage, it is clear that their methods and their bigotry both are unacceptable. Lord Voldemort's thoughts concerning the status of purebloods found fertile ground among the members of Slytherin House, who prided themselves on their blood purity. Those who followed Voldemort were at the same time fanatic and cowardly - hiding in the shadows during the lead-up to the Second Wizarding War when it seemed that Lord Voldemort had not yet returned. They wanted to take terrible actions, yet receive no consequences for their behavior. Only a few followers, namely the Lestranges and Barty Crouch, Jr. did not hide from what they were.

Personality: Purity matters to Mosmordeth, who would never accept anything but the very best. She is from a strong and noble line, and her wishes and wants will be attended to. Immediately. Chop chop! This little green is not afraid to demand that her needs be met. No, you are doing it wrong. Do better next time! No one is worthy of Mosmordeth, who is a true daughter of Rhianth, a true granddaughter of Eveleth. She takes tremendous pride in her lineage, knowing that she is the scion of a great Queen! And like that queen, this green has high expectations.

She demands perfection of not just herself but also her rider. She is very easily crossed, and will hold a grudge like no tomorrow. However, she does have hearts within her chest, and while she can be cruel, she is not entirely ruthless or without scruple. She just knows better than anyone - isn't that abundantly clear? She also likes attention and will go into a sulk if she does not get it. Proper attention, thank you, and the respect that such good breeding deserves! Mosmordeth might not have a hide that glitters, but she is a lovely and clever green, well able to command the attentions of many, should she bend her claw to the task.

A compelling creature, she knows how to hold a crowd. This beautiful, gracious, and fierce lady is here to hold Pern in her claws. And if she must do so by following on other's coattails, so she shall. She does believe strong in Avada Kedavra and his purpose, but also feels that she ought to sit at his right paw. She knows well how to find advantages for herself and her rider when they present themselves. However, she does stop short of sheer destruction, for she would have nothing left to enjoy if she let it all fall to dust.

To that end, she will be, if not an enthusiastic Threadfighter, then certainly an able one. She has a keen mind that can be put to use weaving in and out of Thread clumps, if need be. A life in the spotlight is not for her, no matter how much Mosmordeth wishes that it were. She is deeply aware of her own frailties, and does not care to be reminded of them. There is a glass ceiling for dragons such as herself, and she can never truly climb to the highest heights. However, that does not by any means make her useless, and she knows that a good leader will recognize that.

Positive Traits: Regal, Haughty, Proud, Fierce, Formidable
Negative Traits: Spiteful, Arrogant, Cutting, Craven, Cruel

Adult Size: 21'
Physical Attributes: Mosmordeth possesses what appears to be a mask upon her charmingly lovely face. This slinky, sinuous green knows how to best hold a post that might attract an admirer's gaze, and certainly has lovely proportions.

Additional Notes: Attracted to power and purity, Mosmordeth may find herself falling head over tail for one of Pern's Queens. That being said, she is not opposed to finding a little attention in the claws of another, should her desires go unfulfilled. She will use anyone who lets her with a certain ruthlessness, but holds those possessed of shiny hides in a rather different light. They may find themselves placed on a pedestal by this green.

Theme Song: Fairy Queen by Heather Alexander
Egg: A small off-white egg with what appears to be a red eye. An aura of sobriety enshrouds the infant within.

Why Me? Oh dear, Holter. Whatever will Mosmordeth do with you? She sees some potential in the... raw material, but will no doubt work to mold him to her every whim and specification. If he's not careful, he will be overpowered by this powerhouse of a green, who has quite a mind of her own. Unfortunately, neither of them possess a strong affinity for goodness and light, but Mosmordeth does have some morals... if they happen to be a little on the grey side. Moreover, she has never felt the sort of love that Holter seems to bestow so easily, and would like very much to be the center of his devoted attention.

Green Skerath
Written by Uta
Colored by Uta

User Image

Origin of Name: Skerath's name comes from the Icelandic term for "cut", skera. Given Skerath is based on the spell, Sectumsempra, it is particularly fitting for this green.

Inspiration: Sectumsempra

A rather dangerous curse invented by Severus Snape, when the incantation is uttered its effect is the equivalent of an invisible sword; it is used to slash the victim from a distance, and results in deep wounds. The slash follows the user's wand movements. Due to the depths of the cut, the victims run the risk of dying from blood loss if treatment is not applied in time and if the wounds aren't instantly fatal.

'Sectumsempra' derives from the Latin sectum, "having been cut" (comparable to the English word "section" or "dissect" ), and possibly semper, "always." It can be translated as "always cutting" or "sever forever", the latter being a pun on Snape's first name, Severus, as well as indicating that severed body parts cannot be regrown.

Personality: Skerath is a green who is all edges. She is the sort of dragon who knows what she's about, and just you try to soften her up... It won't end well for you. While everybody knows that dragon's aren't meant to do harm, this little green certainly likes to toe the line. She has no problem baring her fangs and snapping at those she does not like; if physical threats don't work, she will not hesitate to rip someone to pieces with her words. Skerath is certainly a green not to be trifled with, and has no problem getting her way forcefully.

Her rider will need to keep a firm grip on Skerath, lest the green get them both into serious trouble. She will not actually harm someone... but she has no trouble scaring them within an inch of their life.

Skerath is a surly green, who tends to be temperamental and moody at the best of times. She isn't a pushover, and tends to be more unfriendly than amicable; but as far as this green is concerned, she doesn't need anyone but her rider. She has no need for friends, at least, that's what she likes to think. There might be a few she respects, and depending on her rider's influence, might take a shine to those who can hold their own against her general unpleasantness. Deep down, though, SKerath is a green who actually does wish to find acceptance. It's not a place anyone but her rider will know; it's hidden deep, and likely not considered. But there is a loneliness within this dragons' soul. She wants connections, but also doesn't want to become soft or vulnerable; she doesn't want to change, and never will. Any friends of hers will need tolerate her aggressive behavior... and that is likely a small few, indeed. Unless you're her rider, she will cut you as she does any foe.

If that's how she treats her friends, then her enemies are practically brutalized. Those who cross her (or those she just doesn't like) might find her to be a bully. She has a tendency for violence when she is really enraged, and some of her clutchsibs might learn to avoid her when she's in a particularly nasty mood. What seems like a harmless bite or scratch as a hatchling can easily turn into something more serious as an adult. Again, Skerath will never kill, or fatally wound someone as an adult--she has enough empathy to keep herself in check, even if it's grudgingly--but she isn't afraid to let the ichor flow when she can.

Ah, but this green is not all sharp edges and bad behavior. For all the bad, there are heaps of good. To start, Skerath is terribly clever, and has no problem getting herself and her rider out of any scrape they might find themselves in. She can hold her own with the smartest of dragons, and might find some of her clutchsibs simple. She's also daring. When not left to her own troublesome devices, and put to a task, Skerath will have no trouble taking the lead, or jumping into action. She will get her work done and pride herself on a job completed quickly and efficiently; and when things DO get ugly during Threadfall, Skerath isn't the sort of shy away. She'll be excited to fight Thread, and looks forward to flaming down the Enemy. When Skerath is on your side, you can bet that her arsenal and power are at your disposal, fully.

Keeping Skerath busy is the best way to keep this green out of trouble. It's when she gets idle and restless that her claws and teeth seem to come out. Thankfully, this green will always defer to her rider; for her rider can do no wrong, and she will love them beyond words. While she will defer to Rhianth and some of the other golds, hissing and snarling with complaint, she will never hesitate, nor ever turn, on her most beloved chosen. And you can bet, she will love her rider for all time and for always.

Positive Traits: Cunning, Daring, Decisive
Negative Traits: Lonely, Surly, Violent

Adult Size: 20'
Physical Attributes: Skerath is a thin and petite boned green. She is swift on wing and a fast and agile flier. Unfortunately, she doesn't have much stamina to last long, especially when she's flying her fastest. She's a daredevil, and was built to be one.

Additional Notes: Skerath has unusually long and sharp claws that might need more periodic trimming than those of her peers. Her fangs are also just a hair longer than normal, giving her a slightly toothy look. When Skerath eats, you can best bet she wants nothing but bloody meat; and when she hunts, it will always be a messy affair.

As for flights...well. They will likely be bloody affairs, and as explosive as her mood. Still, there is the possibility someone out there might tame her heart, or at least cause her to be devoted for always... The question simply becomes who? Even if she were to fall in love, Skerath would likely keep it a bit of a secret.

Theme Song: Daughters of Darkness by Halestorm

Egg: Black and red, this egg almost gives off the appearance of blood. Don't dare come closer.

Why Me? Who else was there that could temper such a personality? Who else was there that might understand this fierce green? Iathe is the only Candidate worthy of her, as far as this green is concerned, and she will claw her way to the top of the top if that's where her rider wishes to go. She is well aware of her position as a green within High Reaches Weyr, but she will not let that deter Iathe's dreams, or her own capabilities. They are and will be amazing, and now that they have one another, nothing will stop them from reaching the stars. If she has to tear them down, one by one, she will do so for her most beloved Iathe!

Iathe's strength of will and character will be able to keep Skerath in line, and will earn nothing but respect from the dragon. Her honesty will keep Skerath honest, by nature, and any tricks or nastiness will (hopefully) not be tolerated. Skerath's cleverness and hard-working will match well with Iathe's drive, and this green will do anything to get her rider where she wants to be. Nothing will stand in their way, and anyone who tries will be torn and ripped into by this fierce green.

While it might not be obvious, Skerath will adore her rider above all else; while she might not be openly demonstrative in public, in private this green will turn a bit softer...just for Iathe. Every day, every moment, throughout their bond this green will give her all the love, power, and ferocity she might wish to wield, and ask for nothing but acceptance in return. Surely Iathe will love her. Surely, Iaethe will understand. She may sparkle like a gold..but is she not worth more than a dream or hope? Iathe will never be alone, never be without support, and (as far as Skerath is concerned) never have to compromise again. She will make their bond worth it; she will not fail her; she will not ever let her down.

Green Metlath
Written by Uta
Colored by demon_pachabel

User Image

Origin of Name: Metla is the translation of broom in Bosnian, Croatian, Russian, Serbian, and Slavic. The word "broom" derives from the name of certain thorny shrubs used for sweeping. The name of the shrubs began to be used for the household implement in Late Middle English and gradually replaced the earlier besom during the Early Modern English period.

In the context of witchcraft, broomstick is likely to refer to the broom as a whole, known as a besom. The first known reference to witches flying on broomsticks dates to 1453, confessed by the male witch Guillaume Edelin The concept of a flying ointment used by witches appears at about the same time, recorded in 1456.

Inspiration: Firebolt

The Firebolt is a world-class broomstick. It was the fastest at the time of its production, and was released in 1993. In time, the Firebolt broomstick was used by the Bulgarian and Irish International Quidditch Teams. The teams played on Firebolts during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup.

Harry Potter first saw a prototype Firebolt broom in the window of Quality Quidditch Supplies in the summer before his third year. He wanted one, but he already had a Nimbus 2000 and had to remind himself of that to keep himself from going in and asking what the price was. It was said that he would have to empty his vault in Gringotts, should he actually purchase the Firebolt.
Later, he received a Firebolt as an anonymous present from his godfather, Sirius Black, at Christmas 1993, after his Nimbus 2000 was destroyed.

The Firebolt is capable of going from nought to one hundred and fifty miles per hour in ten seconds. This broomstick also boasts an unbreakable Braking Charm, superb balance and precision, and hovers at reasonable mounting height when let go. By 1994, the Firebolt was the fastest broomstick in the whole world.

Personality: Metlath is going places, and you had better not stand in her way! This green dragon is bursting from the seems with energy and can be a bit difficult to handle or keep still for any length of time. She is the sort of dragon who loves to have fun, and can make a game out of the most odious of situations. If she finds herself in a drab situation, she will happily crack a joke to ease tension, or tell her rider and wingmates stories just to spice things up. Lying or exaggerating isn't harmful when it brings in nothing but cheer, right?

This makes Metlath one charming green! She knows how to hold interest once she is given a few moments time, and has no trouble captivating whatever audience she's given. From stories of her adventures, to outright tall tales, Metlath's goal is to ensure Pern knows just how awesome a green she is! She's sociable, and won't likely struggle to make and keep friends.

Metlath has a lot of energy, and her rider will find it difficult to keep her in line. She is the sort of dragon who always wants to be doing something, going somewhere, and testing the limits of her flight! On the one hand, the Weyrlingmaster will find that Metlath is rather daring. There is no challenge too great for her; she doesn't seem to know the definition of doubt, and truly believes she can get herself out of any sticky situation! Threadfall? Ha! She laughs in the face of danger! Is that task too dangerous? Then let Metlath lead the way! The greater the challenge, the more interesting this clever green will find it!

Unfortunately, this green sometimes has too much energy. She's a hyper dragon, and at her worst, can talk and run around seemingly non-stop. Tired, who's tired? Certainly not Metlath! In fact, this green will talk to her rider, run around the Weyrbowl, flap her wings a hundred times, and then still want to go swimming, get into a tussle, and roll around in the dirt without seemingly breaking a sweat. She will likely need to find outlets for her energy, otherwise she might well become disruptive with her behavior.

To make matters worse, Metlath is not at all a patient green. When she wants something, she wants it immediately. If she has picked up some trick, she might well get impatient when her fellow weyrling do not. She is not a particularly good teacher, and her lack of patience can get her into trouble; she might not listen to directions fully and miss an important rule or note; she might get snappy and surly when she has to repeat herself or go over something she feels is basic.

Worse, Metlath is a rebllious dragon, and doesn't understand the definition of no. If her rider doesn't keep her firmly in line, she will not hesitate to do what she wants because she can. Metlath hates being told what to do. She doesn't like to be caged, and certainly doesn't like living a life with limitations. She will push and bend and break rules just because someone said not to do something. When rebellion comes, you can bet Metlath will be the sort of green who is more than happy to lead the way.

Positive Traits: Daring, Captivating, Fun-Loving
Negative Traits: Hyperactive, Rebellious, Impatient

Adult Size: 20'
Physical Attributes: Metlath is a small, delicate green--but she can pack quite a punch! She is svelte and sleek and has especially long wings. While she is quick on her feet and agile on land, it is in the air that this dragon truly shines. She was born to fly, and loves to do so. Greens are traditionally used for their speed and agility, and Metlath exceeds in both. She flies fast and hard, and doesn't put on the breaks unless she absolutely must!

Additional Notes: Rival to Nimbus 2000.

Metlath is not a traditional green. She doesn't care for the restrictions High Reaches Weyr places on her or her color, and will try to break as many rules as she can. Her rider will need to keep her line lest face the real consequences.

When it comes to flights, Metlath will fly fast and often. Speed is the name of the game, and she will enjoy her time to shine. She may have a preference for her fellow greens, but blues might be nice, now and then, too. Browns and bronzes are just too stupid and too slow for the likes of her!

Theme Song: Like a Shooting Star by d.j. hixxly
Egg: A large white and black striped egg leaning against two others. This egg is ready to go, go, go! If watched closely, it seems to sway slightly.

Why Me? Ticene and Metlath make a good mix for one another. Ticene's controlling and motherly nature will help keep this energetic (and at times troublesome) green in line. As much as she hates rules and being restricted, she also needs a firm hand to keep her out of real trouble. Not every rule is there simply for the sake of being restrictive; some rules are there for safety measures or good reason. Metlath's rebellious nature needs someone strong willed to help her temper such a thing; or at least, to guide the green on time and place and when to bend a rule, and when to break them.

As for Ticene, this green will bring some fun into her life. Ticene might never need be alone again, and will not just have a green who supports her, but one who adores her, too. She will always have someone to care for, and be cared for and protected in return. Furthermore, Metlath will happily give the woman some direction. Not only will Impression mean that Ticene can devote herself to the fight against Threadfall, but if that doesn't suit her, you can be Metlath has the energy and belief that they can achieve anything. She will carry Ticene to the moons and back if need be, and with Metlath's rebellious nature, she won't think twice about labels. If Ticene wishes to become Weyrleader or Weyrwoman, this green will tear down every rule on Pern to make it so...at least she'll try.

Green Saevath
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by stella cinere

User Image

Origin of Name: Saevath, from the Latin saevus, meaning cruel. The word is derived from a Proto-Indo-European word of the same meaning. As the Cruciatus curse inflicts intolerable pain upon the victim, how could she be named anything else?

Inspiration: Crucio - in other words, the Cruciatus Curse. One of the three Unforgivable curses, the Cruciatus Curse was invented by dark witches and/or wizards during the Middle Ages. Although the primary use for the Cruciatus Curse was to torture the afflicted party, it was also used in duels to great effect! The degree of pain caused by the curse is dependent upon the will of the witch or wizard casting it. A true sadist who enjoys causing pain wields a potent Cruciatus spell, whereas someone with a softer heart would either be incapable of casting it or would struggle to maintain it for long. It is for this reason that the Cruciatus Curse is deemed Unforgivable. The curse can drive its victims to insanity, such as in the case of the Longbottoms, if the victim is not released from the curse. Bellatrix Lestrange was noted for her love of the Cruciatus Curse in particular, and she used it with incredible skill.

Personality: Saevath is, without a doubt, the most sadistic dragon to have been hatched in a number of Turns. However, her sadism is largely harmless, as she simply has a malicious sense of humor. She does rather enjoy watching others struggle. Others except, perhaps, her chosen few darlings. Those she prizes she will hold up on a pedestal, adoring upon them with the fierce intractable loyalty that only Saevath possesses. Indeed, they can never truly do wrong in her eyes, and she will always make excuses for their poor behavior.

Clearly they were having an off day. Perhaps they needed something from her that she didn't provide. Maybe it was the weather. Whatever the reason those treasured they were never in the wrong. It would always be something else. In that way she is rather blind. However, if she is blind, she is also one of the most loyal greens one might hope to have on their side. There is no question in her mind that those she loves are good and wonderful. She would do anything for them.

On a personal level, Saevath possesses quite a sense of humor, and a creative flare. She's clever, with a truly keen mind that is rarely put to anything actually useful. Mostly it is used to turn particularly sharp insults... for Saevath finds that to be terribly amusing. Surely everyone agrees! Ah, but even if they don't that won't stop her from making biting, sarcastic remarks at their expense. How funny that they think it should!

Saevath is a cold little thing, capable of giving the cold shoulder for days. Her warm aspects are deeply, deeply hidden... reserved for her rider and for her dear, darling sisters and brothers, although not all of those. She has quite a bit of respect for Caderath, and will follow him in her own pursuit of power. Make no mistake, she is not here to mess around. She inherited her father's need to fight Thread, and will do so with nigh unmatched fervor. Mother will be treated with respect, as will grandmother, and she does secretly adore her father, even if she rarely sees him.

Positive Traits: Ambitious, Brilliant, Creative, Loyal
Negative Traits: Sadistic, Vindictive, Malevolent, Cold

Adult Size: 27'
Physical Attributes: A large green with eyes that usually dwell in the warm range of the color wheel. She is fiercely beautiful, in her way, although she seems unaware of her striking looks. Her wingspan is wider than average for a green.

Additional Notes: If anyone crosses or harms someone that she loves, Saevath will make note of them, will remember them, and then find a way to get back at them later. Her Flights are not likely to be physically violent, however she can and will cut her suitors to ribbons with her tongue alone. In truth, she might prefer the company of another green - and if one special particular green sister happened to look her way, well, she'd eat that up.

Theme Song: Jekyll and Hyde by Five Finger Death Punch
Egg: This smallish medium sized blue and cyan egg rests comfortably between three of its fellows. It is distinctly not amused.

Why Me? Although Rune and Saevath has much in common, it is Rune's honesty that appeals so much to the fierce green. She can certainly count on Rune to have her back, as was demonstrated during the Hatching - unlike so many others, Rune did not lay blame on Saevath for protecting her sister, nor upon her dear sister for becoming distraught. She holds Rune in great respect, and shall always be sweet and good to her darling rider. Saevath, although fierce and vicious, can be a loyal, devoted dragon. They both need someone whom they can rely upon, and will now forever have that in one another. Additionally, Rune's close relationship with her brother mirrors in many ways Saevath's with her sister.

Green Baciuth
Written by Uta
Colored by -_Wish of Tevarae_-

User Image

Origin of Name: This dragon is named after one of earth's haunted forests. The Hoia-Baciu Forest is considered one of the most haunted forests in the world, and is sometimes referred to as the “Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania.” People have claimed they’ve seen UFOs and/or ghosts near the woods, though no one is sure. Legend says there is a perfectly circular clearing in the middle of the forest that attracts paranormal activity.

Inspiration: Forbidden Forest

The Forbidden Forest, also known as the Dark Forest, borders the edges of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry grounds.

The forest is a very old place that holds many secrets and houses many creatures, some dark and dangerous, others friendly. The trees in the forest are considered ancient, they are dense and rough looking from years of exposure to the elements.

As the forest's name suggests, it is strictly off limits to students — except in the case of detention, or Care of Magical Creatures lessons that occasionally take place there. Of course, with the various dangerous creatures living in the Forest, few students would even want to venture into it.

Personality: Baciuth is not a loud dragon that screams for attention, but only a fool would over look this particular green. The first thing people notice about Baciuth is how intimidating she can be. The way she walks, the way she talks, the way she holds herself is a dragon that screams for those around her to best beware. She is the sort of dragon who is known to be a bit more aggressive; there is no gentleness to be found here, and Baciuth is the sort of dragon who will back up her bark with a harsh bite.

She is the sort of green who has no trouble being forceful. If the Weyr wants dragons who are easily put in line, they will struggle with this one. She is not the sort who backs down from anyone, and is as forceful as she appears. There is no squishy inside to be found, and those who aren't careful, will find themselves steamrolled. She is the sort of dragon who will take, or get what she wants, by force if she must. If folks won't leave her alone, she might forgo the snarl and bite instead (never fatally, mind, but enough to scare); if someone isn't listening to what she says as she speaks, she will have no trouble screaming it as loud as necessary to get her point across. She isn't often a loud dragon, but when she has things to say, it would be best for everyone involved to shut up and listen.

Most usually, though, Baciuth is a secret. She is often quiet, more of a listener and observer, and she has quite the eye and ear. She is incredibly perceptive, and has no problem filling in the missing pieces of any puzzle based on clues she's picked up here and there; if someone needs an eye for detail, or to catch something often overlooked by others, Baciuth is the green to do it. Only her rider will know what makes Baciuth tick; only her rider might get the green to temper her demands, or draw out a softer side. Though other dragons may want to get to know her, she is not the sort who will open up easily, if at all. Her rider will find a dragon who is very clever, and rarely shaken; she is a pillar of support, to her chosen, but also her wingmates. There is love and fondness in her hearts, but she tends to show such gentility only to her rider.

Thankfully, for both her rider and her wingmates, Baciuth is honorable and constant. When she puts her mind to something, she will not bend or sway from her duties; for those she does come to care for, in whatever way, she is there for life. She is not the sort of dragon to be fickle, and when she devotes herself, she takes the plunge fully. There is beauty within her secrets; a desire for webs of friendship and relationships to tangle within her rigid hearts. While Baciuth thinks she is made of steel and metal, she is made of wood; strong, but still capable of being cut into and broken.

Positive Traits: Perceptive, Honorable, Constant
Negative Traits: Intimidating, Forceful, Secretive

Adult Size: 24'
Physical Attributes: Baciuth is average as far as he height and length go, but she is stronger than a typical green. Muscular even from a young age, this green dragon knows how to keep herself tough. Her skin is even a bit less silken smooth and a bit rougher to the touch. While she's not unpleasant to touch, she will likely need oiling more often, and will be prone to dry patches, especially after swimming, or during the winter months.

Additional Notes: Baciuth will likely not rise often or frequently. Flights are just not something she particularly enjoys, as it often ends relying on the wings of another. She doesn't want to rely on anyone thank you... Those who do catch her may not find themselves welcome for long. But who knows? Maybe someone can worm their way in.

Theme Song: Nina Cried Power by Hozier

Egg: A tiny green and black egg appearing to depict some darkly wood. It is beckons, yet carries a hint of menace and mystery.

Why Me? Vesun and Baciuth are of a similar mold. This quiet and secretive green understands Vesun's reservation and will not judge him. In fact, she appreciates his stoicism, as any louder or more outgoing Candidate would grate on her nerves. She understands his heart and mind and how he ticks; and she will be there for him through thick and thin. Though he bottles things up, Baciuth's strength will be there to support him should that cup overflow or shatter; should he find himself in need, she will be there to lift him up.

Baciuth met her match in Vesun. He is the one being who has the willpower to keep Baciuth in line. She will support his ambition, whatever that might be, and help take him to new heights. There is nothing they can't do. His secrets will be her secrets and he need never fear her betraying his trust. She will be HIS constant in life; someone he can depend upon, someone he can fall back upon, and someone who will never waver. They will make a powerful, if aloof, pair to High Reaches Weyr.

Green Ausrath
Written by Avid_RPer18
Colored by Smerdle

User Image

Origin of Name: This green’s name is taken from the Lithuanian name Ausra, meaning “dawn”, tying into the base word aurora, from which the word auror is derived.

Inspiration: Ausrath is inspired by aurors, the elite highly-trained witches and wizards that serve as the wizarding world’s law enforcement and military personnel. The extremely difficult, intensive training required for the position is so demanding that very few qualify. Aided by the education they receive beforehand, Aurors are subsequently trained to deal with a myriad of high risk situations, with different countries having more specialized requirements for the dangers more pertinent to that nation. For example, in Britain, Aurors are trained to investigate crimes linked with the Dark Arts and are taught the skills necessary to apprehend and detain dark witches and wizards.

Becoming an Auror typically requires the applicant to have an excellent academic background, a clear criminal record, and to undergo a series of tests to determine if they qualify. If they do, would-be Aurors face three very hard years of study and practicing of disciplines that will be required in the field, which includes everything from poisons and antidotes, to stealth, tracking, disguise, and other subjects. The job awaiting the newly trained Aurors, though it is seen as glamorous by some, may call for them to lay down their lives, be it for the protection of high profile individuals, magical and muggle both, or in case the dark witch or wizard they need to apprehend decides to fight to the death rather than be captured. Aurors seem to be very well respected in the wizarding community and higher ranking members may be considered as prospective candidates to become Minister of Magic.

Personality: She hopes you're ready world -- Ausrath is here.

Ausrath is a dragon that will greatly enjoy the camaraderie of wings, first with her clutchsiblings in the weyrling wing, and then in whatever wing she will be assigned to upon graduation. She'll strive to have at least a civil rapport going with her wingmates or better, but may find those that don't tend to fall into line or those that repeatedly fail to meet her expectations to be a mild irritant to just deal with. It takes a great deal to shake Ausrath's resolve so she'll likely try to keep an open, if terse, dialogue going. Those individuals that find themselves in her and Hers' friend group will have a solid, dedicated companion ever in their corner, more than willing to jump whenever, whether they are needed or not.

This Green is very end goal focused, and can be prone to tunnel vision if her rider doesn't encourage her to move on or to take occasional breaks. Especially when she's young, Hers will have to make sure that Ausrath gets enough food and oiling when there's chores or studies looming. After all problems will still be there if she isn't there hounding them. This focus can be beneficial by degrees when fighting Thread, minor scoring won't slow her down, only the immediate need around her will be important. Her rider will need to suggest caution or warning for her injuries so as not to overstrain herself. Down time isn't exempt from this intensity. Even when conversing with others, eye contact is usually maintained the entire time when addressing someone directly so there is no doubt to whom she may be speaking. Ausrath, though unintentionally, tends to have a stern edge to her voice. Supposed lecturing may be something she will have to work on down the line.

As much a pillar of support Ausrath fancies herself, her rider is her partner in all things and together there will be nothing they can not accomplish. There's a darkness that has returned to Pern and the Auror Green is ready to combat it for everyone's sake.

Positive Traits: Cooperative, unflappable, dutiful, caring
Negative Traits: Intense, exacting, can be overly focused, blunt

Adult Size: 27’
Physical Attributes: Ausrath is a large, wellbuilt green. Sure footed right from the moment of her hatching, she's a green who will never seem unsure of the spaces she occupies in the air or on the ground, which will prove useful when participating in drills that may call for closer quarters or cutting through crowds. While not as nimble as some of her more delicately built green kindred, she's got excellent stamina and can give some of the smaller males a run for their money. With her proportionally long wings, Ausrath will be skilled with gliding and precision diving, and will enjoy seemingly hovering in the air when catching favorable air currents.

Additional Notes: When it comes to Flights, Ausrath will have no preference for whatever colors her suitors may be, Green, Blue, Brown, or Bronze. All that will matter is that only the best may catch her, for anything less than the most skilled participants simply won’t meet her standards. Whatever trait of most importance may change each time she rises, however, so any dragon that hopes to hold her attention for longer than a single flight will have to prove themselves to be well rounded indeed.

Theme Song: Born For This by Royal Deluxe
Egg: A smallish medium sized grey egg with white stripes resting against only one of its clutchsibs. It appears to be ever watchful.

Why Me? Rinor drew Ausrath from the very beginning. If ever there was someone who needed a bit of a helping hand, it would be Rinor! The nervous and anxious boy will find that there is nothing to fear now that Ausrath is around. Where Rinor may draw back or shy away from the fight, you can bet that this green will be there to keep him on the straight and narrow. When he is afraid or feels unprepared, he will find the steadying and all encompassing love of this green. She is ready, and will be ready, for the both of them. Perhaps with time, Rinor may find the world a less scary place now that Ausrath is with him.

When Rinor's attention starts to stry, Ausrath will be there to gently and lovingly remind him to focus. Where his head might be in the clouds, you can bet this determined and hard working green will be there to keep him grounded when they must be alert. On the flipside, it's possible he may keep Ausrath from working herself to the bone. Life can be fun, after all, even with the return of Thread; not everything need by duty. Rinor may dream of becoming a better, stronger, more fearless person... but as far as Ausrath can tell, he's already there. He just needs a little polishing, a little direction. Together, there is nothing they can't achieve. Ausrath will chase his fears and worries away, and be the wings on which he can achieve his dreams.

Green Cythereath
Written by Mr. Cheri
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: Cythereath originates from one of the many names for the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, Cytherea - lady of Cythera. Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty, was born off of the coast of Cythera or Cyprus, respectively, rising out of the sea on an open clam shell. She was known to have many lovers, compelling many a man to fall madly, desperately in love with her. Aphrodite also had the power to make others fall in love at her whim, answering the prayers of her lovelorn adherents.

Inspiration: Amortentia - from Amor, a Roman god of Love, and tentia, Latin for "held." In other words, love bound.

The most powerful love potion in all of the world, Amortentia creates not love, but obsession. When the potion is brewed, it evokes the smell of what one is most attracted to. Merope Gaunt, of the line of Salazar Slytherin, used this powerful potion to ensorcell Tom Riddle, Sr., whom she had fallen in love with after watching him daily ride by. Repulsed by her appearance, Tom Riddle would never have returned her love, but when fed the potion, he seemed to fall in love with her.

After a time, when Merope was certain of Tom Riddle's love, she stopped dosing him with the potion, and to her horror, discovered that he had never fallen in love with her at all. Nor did he want to stay with her, or care about the child that she was carrying. A child who would one day grow up to be Lord Voldemort. Heartbroken and homeless, Merope Gaunt wandered the streets of London until she came upon Wool's Orphanage.

Merope gave birth, and then died either of despair or of exhaustion. She named her son Tom Marvolo Riddle after his father, and the boy would come to view his sire's abandonment in a rather different light. He believed that his father had abandoned his mother and him to die because he discovered that she was a witch. This, along with experiences in the orphanage, created a deep and abiding hatred of muggles in the boy. It is believed by many that he was not capable of feeling love because he was conceived under the affects of the Amortentia potion.

Amortentia has a mother-of-pearl sheen, with steam that rises in characteristic spirals. The potion is considered to be both powerful and highly dangerous. Brewing the potion requires advanced potion brewing skill. A victim of the potion is said to have a sickly cast to their skin, and to view the one who administers it as though illuminated by a ray of pure light. In what might be a curious choice, knowing the parties involved, Horace Sloghorn had his Sixth Year Advanced Potions students attempt to brew it, with mixed results.

Personality: Although at first or second glance it seems that Cythereath might melt away into a puddle of tears if someone said a harsh word, this green comes with a spine of sheer steel. She is not afraid of anything or anyone. Why would she be, after all? They're all absolute darlings who surely only want to love her. Isn't that right, precious? It had better be right, but Cythereath won't say an unkind word. Oh no, this green will rarely if ever be caught in the wrong.

Just because she isn't caught, however, doesn't mean she isn't doing it. There is a reason that she was selected to be a part of her particular squad, and it certainly isn't just to do with looks. ... Although it is to do with that, come to think of it. She's a very canny green with very little compunction against lying or twisting words about to suit her. She thrives on attention, and seems to wilt away when she's not getting her proper due.

However, that being said, she is a genuinely sweet dragon. She can be kind when it suits her, and she has hearts absolutely full of love. She is continually fascinated by love in its many forms. Lust is an intriguing emotion as well, though one she won't grow too familiar with for a long time. After all, she's a very charming little creature, but still a little creature. At the end of the day, she wants the very best for everyone, yet it couldn't hurt if her best was a little bit better. Could it?

She's used to being petted and cossetted, and won't particularly like it if all of that goes away. Cythereath, sweet though she may be, simply adores being the center of attention. The more eyes on her the better, in her book... and she is not overly choosy about whose eyes they happen to be. When she's not given her allotted amount of attention she is prone to sulking, quite aware of what she ought to be getting and is not. How dare!

Positive Traits: Engaging, Endearing, Enchanting, Sweet,
Negative Traits: Manipulative, Vain, Spoiled, Possessive

Adult Size: 19'
Physical Attributes: A truly stunning green with remarkable carriage. Cythereath is a small green with delicate, striking features. Her eyes tend to always carry a hint of purple within them, although it is not evident that lust has anything to do with its presence.

Additional Notes: She will love nothing more than being showered in gifts. Especially gifts from admirers! And, of course, her rider, for who is her chief admirer but he? Oh yes, Amortentia loves to be loved, and loves to be spoiled. She will probably Rise often, flirting with each male who joins the chase, and perhaps setting them against one another... just for fun. However, her hearts can be won, and once they have been, there is no doubt that the lucky fellow or lady will have a true darling in claw.

Theme Song: I Put a Spell on You by Nina Simone
Egg: A small pink egg with hearts upon its shell. The egg gleefully welcomes all comers with the distinct impression of delight.

Why Me? Oh darling, catty, beautiful Cedarian! Cythereath has just been waiting for her perfect partner in crime. He is equally clever and enchanting in his own way. Yet there is more to their relationship than that of mutual respect. Cythereath genuinely, truly loves Cedarian, and will offer him her hearts unreservedly. For however alone he might feel, he shall never be alone again. Not with Cythereath at his side, the best and dearest of friends. He offers her something that no one else could, and she treasures him in the way that only a love potion might. Now, what was this about his love life?

Green Zygmuth
Written by Sinders Path
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: Zygmunt Budge invented the potion Felix Felicus or 'Liquid luck' in the 16th century and deemed it his greatest accomplishment ever, dubbing it "the crowning achievement of his career.
It seems only fitting that this green carry forward his name.

Inspiration: Felix Felicis.
Also called "Liquid Luck", is a magical potion that makes the drinker lucky for a period of time, during which everything they attempt will be successful. It turns an ordinary day into an extraordinary one.

It is meant to be used sparingly, however, as it causes giddiness, recklessness, and dangerous overconfidence if taken in excess. Felix is highly toxic in large quantities and is also a banned substance in all organised competitions, such as Quidditch, along with all other methods of cheating. It is very difficult to make, disastrous if made wrong, and requires six months to stew before it is ready to be consumed.

Personality: Zygmuth is the world's cheerleader. Whatever you want to do she is right behind you encouraging you and willing you forward. Even if you fail she is ever the voice of positiveness. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again because Zygmuth is here to make sure you succeed this time!

As well as her eternal half glass full outlook, Zygmuth is a intelligent and highly inventive green with her help you might just crack that tough problem.
Her insights are often enlightened and her suggestions inspired edged with a keen intelligence and out the box thinking. During thread fall it means she is highly adaptive to sudden changes . On the flip side it also makes her a terrible enabler. If her rider wants to do something and it could get her in trouble or even result in injury Zygmuth will still push and egg them on easily becoming overexcited by the idea of a new challenge. The more risk associated with it the more reckless her advice becomes. Big rewards are worth big risks.

When things do go wrong she also had a tendency to underplay the seriousness of the consequences and her rider will have to impress on her constantly what the end result of her schemes and suggestions might be.

Zygmuth will never seek to be a wing leader or put herself in a position of real power because she is happy playing back up. For someone so good at encouraging others to risk it all she often hangs back in wing drills and is happy to play second fiddle to her more forward siblings. As long as they still take her advice. She will always seek the role of trusted councilor rather than queen on the throne.

Zygmuth will happily take orders as it suits her but because her whole attitude to life is rather laissez faire if she or her rider want something that doesn't align with the rules she is happy to shun authority and deal with the consequences at a later date. Zygmuth just wants to know what you want to know right now! so she can make it happen.

Positive Traits: Positive, encouraging. Intelligent, Inventive.
Negative Traits: Enabler. Reckless, laissez faire attitude.

Adult Size: 21'
Physical Attributes: On the smaller side of average Zygmuth is a very neat and well put together dragon. Her limbs, tail and neck are all long without being out of proportion. She also has rather narrow and tapering wings that help her make graceful yet sharp turns in flight.

Additional Notes: Because she is so encouraging and inspires confidence in others she will often have the mark of a 'good luck charm' bestowed to her by others, which she does not discourage.

Zygmuth will never be picky about flights unless her rider guides her towards one male in particular she is likely to cheer on all her suitors with equal fervor.

Theme Song: Get Lucky
Egg: A brightly colored medium sized egg that resembles nothing so much as a canvas with rainbow paint spatters, this egg sits, almost trembling to the side. Curiosity emanates from within.

Why Me? Why hello there, Makimton! Never has there been a more perfect partner in crime than he for this cheerful ball of energy. Zygmuth chose Makimton because his is a world of solid reality, colliding with her own rather impractical view of things. But he is by no means stuffy or drab. She's quite a bright creature and would learn exceptionally well with the right tutor. Perhaps that might be him.

Green Samodith
Written by Uta
Colored by Uta

User Image

Origin of Name: It is thought that the Veela in Harry Potter are inspired by the Vila. Samodivas, Samovilas or Vilas are woodland fairies or nymphs found in South and West Slavic folklore. In Romania, they are known as Iele. The words samodiva and samovila have Indo-European roots meaning "divinity", "rave", "wild", or "rage", which also inspired Samodith's name.

Inspiration: Samodith is based on the Veela.

The Veela are a race of semi-human, semi-magical humanoids reminiscent of the Vila in Slavic folklore. Little is known about their biology; they appear to be young, beautiful humans. Their looks and especially their dance is magically seductive to almost all male beings and some female beings, which causes such people to perform strange actions in order to get nearer to the Veela.

Veela were the mascots for the Bulgarian National Quidditch team during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup, which indicates an Eastern European origin, although the Delacours, who are from France, are proof that they can be found all over Europe.

Veela are described as looking like incredibly beautiful women, with moon-bright skin and white-gold hair that fans out behind them despite the absence of wind. They have the ability to hypnotise and mesmerise most men with their seductive dance, who will then try to impress them.

Veela are thought to have their own type of magic which does not require a wand. When Veela are angry, however, they transform into something more like Harpies — their faces turn into cruel-beaked bird-like heads while long scaly wings burst from their shoulders, and they can launch balls of fire from their hands. Veela seem to be quite an irascible race.

Personality: If ever there was a dragon in this clutch that drew the eye, it would be Samodith. This green knew she was a stunner in the egg, knows she's stunning as a hatchling, and has every confidence she will always have an audience as an adult. This green dragon knows that she's worth every ounce of attention given to her, and she knows how to draw the eye without even lifting a claw.

There is a natural confidence that oozes from her. Men, and even some females, can't help but look at her, want to be around her, want to get with her. As a hatchling she will always be popular among her clutchsiblings; as an adult, she will have males of the weyr wrapped around her pinky. Samodith hardly even has to work it to make it so; a little green-blue eyewhirl here, a swish of her tail there, and you can bet the hordes come crawling.

Rest assured, Samodith is a beautiful green. She has natural poise, and moves as elegantly on her feet as she does while on wing. She can be covered in ash and ichor and still manage to look beautiful. Worse, Samodith knows it. Her confidence is difficult to shake because she absolutely believes she IS the brightest, most beautiful, most lovely dragon on Pern.

Unfortunately, Samodith does have some ugly sides. For one, she is extremely temperamental. One moment she can be happy and content, the next she's ready to spar. She might be happily enjoying your attention, and then tell you off just as quickly. She is moody, and when her temper flares, it tends to be ugly. Furthermore, Samodith is known to be cruel. If you cant fly with the big greens, then you'd best go back to your shell. Cross her, and she will have no problem planning a way for payback; usually by charming (or manipulating) someone else to take care of her problems. Best beware, because she has no problems using her popularity to her advantage; seducing a male or female out of spite for another is easy for her; spreading rumors, tarnishing one's reputation.... Nothing is too low for Samodith. Her rider will need to try to keep their green in check from becoming too nasty, but this green is not always easy to tame.

At their best, Samodith will be a great green in whatever Wing she is tapped into. She can bring groups together when she's at her best... but at her worst, she can tear friendships and lovers apart with a flick of her tail, and have no remorse in doing so.

Positive Traits: Alluring, Confident, Graceful
Negative Traits: Temperamental, Cruel, Manipulative

Adult Size: 27'
Physical Attributes: Though she's large for a green, Samodith is still very delicately boned. She is long of limb, long of tail, long of neck; even her neckridges seem long. But there's also a softness about Samodith; she isn't plump, just the right amount of weight, and her skin is extra soft to the touch.

Additional Notes: Samodith loves Flights. She will fly frequently and leave a trail of heartache behind her. Greens, blues, browns, bronzes, even golds--no one is too good or high ranking for Samodith. And rest assured, capturing her heart is going to be mighty tricky, if it ever is to happen at all. She's too good for all of you, thank you.

Theme Song: Barricuda by Heart
Egg: A small white egg with light gold swirls upon its shell.

Why Me? Akaris is special -- and Samodith is here to remind her of it everyday. The choice was clear when this green hatched from her shell--there was only one Candidate worthy of her, and that wast he beauty from Western Weyr. How clever Akaris was to charm the Weyrleader and Weyrlingmaster from the other Weyr; how special she was to gain a gold's favor. If that's what Akaris could accomplish at Western Weyr, think of where she might go at High Reaches?

Honestly, Samodith needs someone like Akaris in her life. Someone who is equal in charm and beauty, and someone who understands that confidence (and a pretty face) can get you places. Ah, but Akaris need not fear around this green. She has enough bite to ensure any unwanted attention will stay far away; and should anyone speak ill of Akaris, or judge her for past wrongs, you can bet this green will defend her. She need not hold onto her fathers' hands or even that cute boy--she can now stand tall with her Samodith. This green will help turn Akaris into a more decisive individual, for as far as this green is concerned, there is nothing they can do wrong. Take a risk, for Samodith is here to support you.

In turn, Akaris' charm might keep the green from souring into the nasty beast she can be known to be. Samodith would not wish to frighten Akaris, and might well try to keep her nastiest temper tantrums in check. Unfortunately, that won't stop her completely, but if there's one being this green will defer to, it's her own beautiful, beloved, Akaris.

Green Raqisath
Written by Princess_Feylin

Origin of Name: The name Raqisath derives from the Arabic word raqisa, which means “dancer.” This name was chosen because the Tarantallegra charm causes one to dance unwillingly.

Inspiration: Tthe Tarantallegra charm, or the “dancing feet spell,” is a charm used to force another person’s legs to begin dancing uncontrollably. It requires a clear, unobstructed view of the target to be successfully cast. The name of the charm is likely derived from the Italian tarantella dance, which is a quick and lively dance. This curse is cast several times throughout the Harry Potter books, most notably in Book 2, when Malfoy casts it on Harry at Dueling Club, and in Book 5, when Antonin Dolohov casts it on Neville, causing him to smash the prophecy concerning Harry and Voldemort.

Personality:
Raqisath prefers not to lead, although she loves to be praised and held up as an example, and can be quite competitive when it comes to demonstrating her mastery of a skill. Otherwise, she is mostly a follower. She is not the dragon to turn to for new wing formations, despite the ease with which she fits herself into group maneuvers. Creativity is not her forte, though with a given framework and instruction she can accomplish just about anything. This being the case, she will follow a person or a dragon with a strong vision almost slavishly.

This dragon, unfortunately, is mostly unable to see the good in herself unless it is reflected through someone else’s eyes. Even in areas where she excels, Raqisath will dismiss her abilities as minor, or credit her accomplishments to someone else, which makes her both easy to get along with and easy to manipulate. Raqisath craves positive praise, but will settle for any sort of attention, believing firmly that corrections are infinitely superior to nothing, because at least if someone takes the time to correct her, they still believe she is capable of improvement. Nothing would just mean it isn’t worth the time to try to set her to rights. She is absolutely the dragon who requests feedback after every practice and takes it very much to heart.

Fortunately, she is a quick learner, at least when it comes to physical things, and has excellent muscle memory, but even if she didn’t, Raqisath is both disciplined and obedient. She absolutely has it in her to dedicate herself same task for hours and hours, polishing minute details to a near obsessive degree. In this, Raqisath’s dedication is a double-edged sword. On one hand, she is a hard worker who will apply herself to a skill until she masters it. On the other hand, her single-mindedness in the pursuit of pleasing others (and thereby pleasing herself, at least fleetingly) means she could well do herself or her rider injury by pushing too hard.

An interesting aspect to Raqisath’s attitude toward improving herself is that she truly believes that improvement is always possible. Perfection, of course, is unattainable, but one can always be better. This may seem like an odd sort of optimism for a dragon who thinks so little of herself, but she does not only apply this belief to herself. She believes that hard work really can be a substitute for natural ability, and that anyone can accomplish anything, if only they are willing to discipline themselves to put in the time and effort, and her eye for detail, while usually turned inward, makes her a good assistant teacher, sort. She wouldn’t want to lead the class, but she could certainly walk around and make sure everyone was getting everything.

To address the matter of her vanity: Raqisath has a very clear idea of the Green Ideal, at least physically. A green should be small and quick, lissome and lithe. Her movements should all appear effortless, and her hide should always gleam. A green should never overeat, because to do so would create unsightly bulges in that petite form, and although strength is important, it is equally unappealing to have muscles that bulge excessively. After being such an ungainly hatching, Raqisath will always take great care to arrange herself in attitudes which display the long-muscled line of her body to greatest advantage. To achieve this goal, she has the self-discipline (and lack of self-regard) to limit her food intake and assume uncomfortable poses for long periods of time, rather than be shown to her best advantage. Raqisath also has a distinct eye for beauty in others, but it is less covetous than appreciative, and she always prefers someone who can move well over someone who is decorative but stationary.

Despite being a very physical dragon, Raqisath will probably be slow to reach sexual maturity, and not much interested in flights besides. Her body is a tool, and since as a green she could not possibly produce eggs from a flight (nor would she want to), she would not be putting it to its best use simply by rising to mate. At least in her opinion. Her human, of course, is welcome to do as she pleases, and obviously Raqisath believes in true love for both humans and dragons, but anyone who falls for her had best know that she will never, ever believe them when they say she's beautiful.

Positive Traits: quick learner; dedicated; disciplined; detail-oriented; good in groups
Negative Traits: poor self-esteem; not a creative thinker; easily manipulated; vain

Adult Size: 20’
Physical Attributes: A quick and lively green, with somewhat above average flexibility, Raqisath will grow to acquire exquisite control of her lithe body, but as a hatchling she will be a mess of limbs, constantly in motion. Because she is quick to learn most physical skills it won’t be long before she becomes graceful even on the ground, and eventually exuberant in flight. As an adult she will master the skill of deliberately isolating movements so that she does not come off as twitchy. She is stronger than she looks, but if her rider does not ensure she eats well, her stamina will be limited.

Additional Notes: Raqisath really likes music, especially when there's a strong drumbeat. She absolutely cannot keep still in the presence of a harper plying their trade.

Theme Song: ”Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons
Egg: The Tarantallegra Egg is a medium-sized, dark egg with a brilliant green circle at its center, like a spotlight with a viridian gel. It is in near-constant motion.

Why Me? Reya is exactly the sort of strong and practical mind Raqisath would follow between and back without a thought. The fact that Reya, too, is driven to excel and willing to work obsessively will also appeal to the green, who will also benefit from Reya’s ability to balance her time. Reya knows when to say enough is enough and move on to something else, so when Reya says it’s time to stop practicing, Raqisath will heed her because she knows Reya understands how important it is to get things right, and that Reya is equally unwilling to look a fool by putting forth insufficient work and preparation. Similarly, Reya’s experience in caring for others means she will pay attention to how hard Raqisath works, and whether she is making unsafe decisions for the sake of self-improvement, and she will help her make more moderate decisions without simply issuing ultimatums. It isn’t just that Raqisath needs Reya to lead her and care for her, though. Reya will find in Raqisath a kindred spirit who shares her love of learning and her ambition to push herself to ever-greater heights. Raqisath’s appreciation for beauty will help Reya see that not everything in life has to have a purpose. Sometimes it really is enough simply to be beautiful.

Green Rosmeth

Origin of Name: Rosmeth's name is derived from Madam Rosmerta.
She was the landlady of the Three Broomsticks pub in the village of Hogsmeade. She created an extra sweet variant of Butterbeer. At least some of the ingredients she uses include Sugar Shrub, Mallowsweet, and Moondew. It is unclear if these ingredients are required only for the 'Extra Sweet' version, or if these are standard ingredients in normal butterbeer.

She was placed under the Imperius Curse by Draco Malfoy to help smuggle items into Hogwarts. She likely redeemed herself by fighting the Battle of Hogwarts.

Inspiration: Butterbeer

Butterbeer was a popular wizarding beverage described as tasting "a little bit like less-sickly butterscotch". It was served at numerous locations in the wizarding world and had a very slight alcoholic content. Students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would often buy it when visiting Hogsmeade.

Butterbeer is served foaming hot in mugs and cold in a bottle and bottle of Butterbeer in the Hog's Head costs 2 Sickles each.

Butterbeer may have had a very slight alcohol content, which could get house-elves in a drunk-like state, though an antidote to this existed. This is likely due to house-elves having both significantly smaller bodies as well as a slightly different body chemistry than humans, thus increasing their vulnerability to the effects of alcohol in any volume. It seemed to have a less pronounced effect on humans than smaller creatures such as house-elves, but humans could still fall "under the influence" of it.

Personality: If there's a dragon that's going to make you feel good about yourself, it's this bubbly little green Rosmeth! Of all the dragons in the clutch, there's a sweetness to this sociable little ball of fluff that can bring even the most contentious of groups together. She's an understanding creature, who loves nothing more than meeting new people and dragons, and getting to know their story. Everybody has a story to tell, after all, and this dragon is happy to listen. Unlike some dragons that are constantly in your face, Rosmeth's sweetness isn't often unwanted; she knows when to work a room, but also when to back off, or to take a more laid-back approach.

Those who get to know Rosmeth find that she's definitely good-hearted. She especially seems to enjoy lending a wing, or a headknob, to her clutchsibs during their times of trouble. She's the sort of green that personalities of all types are drawn too just because of how easy it is to open up and talk to her. She's a comforting sort, who has no trouble fussing. If someone seems to need attention, she'll be there; if someone looks alone, she'll amble up and try to get them into some sort of game. She's affectionate and there for you in that moment.

But those moments, unfortunately, don't always last.

Unfortunately, Rosmeth can get restless. Though she's happy to give comfort to others when they need it, in any other scenario she's just a bit on the flighty side. Weyrling lessons might prove to be a challenge as the green might well get bored with a certain assignment or task; this is when she can find herself looking to one of her more amusing and entertaining clutchmates and might well try to find something more interesting to do. Or, she'd much rather talk to one of her clutchmates or her rider than pay attention to some drill they need to remember. It's not that she doesn't care, she just... gets easily distracted. Being sociable also means she'll find just about any excuse to talk.

Rosmeth also can be a bit of a silly green. She tends to be bubbly and a bit prone to giggling during any given moment. A room full of long-faces and this green will try to liven them up. She's not necessarily immature, but she certainly has no fear acting like a hatchling even as a full-grown adult! While this tends to mean she's not afraid of draw attention to herself, sometimes her silliness can be a bit inappropriate. Her rider will need to teach her that there's a time a place for ridiculousness. She's also not a particularly deep thinker. Her sage advice can often be a bit on the shallow side, or result in her enabling behavior that otherwise shouldn't.

Positive Traits: Comforting, Sweet, Sociable
Negative Traits: Inattentive, Restless, Silly

Adult Size: 25'
Physical Attributes: Rosmeth is a good sized dragon. She's a bit heavier than some greens, with a bit of a pudgy belly on her. That said, she's surprisingly light on her feet and has no trouble bouncing around--which she usually happens to be. She's a solid dragon, and while she might wind up a bit slower in the air due to her size, she makes up for it by being able to fight against stronger gusts of wind easier than some of her more petite siblings. Her tail is a bit stubby, her hind feet a bit too large, but she's 100% endearing.

Additional Notes:
Rosmeth is a flirt, but not a serious one. Flights, to her, are meant to be fun and don't mean much to her outside of a good time. All the relationships she makes tend to be more solid friendships than romantic; and until she finds the one, she'll probably prefer casual flings more than anything. But who knows? Life is full of surprises.

She also loves to drink--water that is! She'll do much of her socializing at the Weyrlake or some other watering hole.

Theme Song: Toast to Tomorrow by Blackmore's Night
Egg: Pure White Mystery Egg 2

Why Me? Saekagi and Rosmeth make a strong and compatible pair. If ever there was someone who needed a bit of joy in his life, and someone to lean upon, than it would be him! Rosmeth is here to fulfill those needs, and then some. Where Saekagi gets down on himself and seems full to the brim with self-loathing, you can bet this happy little green is going to lift him up when he's at his lowest. Just like he tries to cheer up others, this green knows she was hatched to be there for him, for always.

He is certainly not as worthless as he believes! He has Rosmeth now, and this happy-go-lucky green is going to be there to fight those demons every day, all day. She's sweet enough that she won't ever grow distressed or upset or impatient with him; no matter how long it takes, Rosmeth's support will be unwavering anytime Saekagi needs it. Where he fails at communicating, and tends to be withdrawn, Rosmeth is as sociable as they come. Even if he doesn't say much, by association, Saekagi is going to find himself meeting all sorts of others and might have no choice but to open up. On the flipside, his patient and hard-working nature will (hopefully) keep this easily distracted green on task.

While Rosmeth loves and accepts Saekagi for who he is, she also loves who he was, and knows that there's still a bit of a fun and cheerful man somewhere within him. Whether or not she ever draws that side back out matters not to this green; no matter where he goes, no matter how he acts, no matter if he grows, she will be there for him 100%. Rosmeth might be a bit of a flake to others, but her devotion, love, and affection for her rider is always on point.

White Alegriath
Written by Mr. Cheri
Colored by Mr Cheri

User Image

Origin of Name: The name Alegriath comes from the Portuguese word alegria, meaning joy.

Inspiration: Cheering Charm

The Cheering Charm was invented by a wizard by the name of Felix Summerbee in the 1400s. The effect of the charm is to improve the mood of the object of the spell, although if cast too powerfully, it can send the subject into fits of hysterical laughter. This impact was seen when Harry Potter cast a too powerful Cheering Charm on Ronald Weasley during his exams, causing the latter to be taken away to recover from its effects. Once accomplished, the spell leaves a lingering feeling of contentment.

Personality: There has rarely been a more bright, joyous dragon than Alegriath, whose sparkling view of the world is unparalleled. She is a glasses half full sort of dragonet, and will never be convinced that anyone cannot be saved. After all, do we not all possess dark and light aspects within ourselves? Certainly Alegriath does! Therefore everyone else must. She is splendidly buoyant, bouncing back quickly from setbacks with a special verve all her own. It is unclear as to where she acquired such a rosy outlook, but it is nigh unshakable.

She certainly does not understand when her friendly overtures are met with rejection or annoyance. She was, after all, only trying to help! But not everyone wants Alegriath's interference, which is a lesson that the dragon will certainly need to learn. Her trust in her fellow beings is perhaps too complete, and she would be shattered if someone broke it. The little white gives of herself freely, never expecting that such trust might well be misplaced.

As such, she is rather easily manipulated. As innocent and friendly as she is, she is easily duped into playing the fool in a setup, and would definitely find herself on the receiving end of trouble, should she follow along where she ought not. Were she to discover that she had been used, she would be very much hurt, and would grieve within her tender hearts, tucking away the pain so that no one might know that she had gotten them broken to begin with. After all, she was the little fool who played right into their claws, wasn't she?

Where her rider is concerned, she is inclined to get fussy and protective, wanting nothing more than to make them the happiest person on all of Pern. Yet in her role in High Reaches she will be unable to do all that she might, were she but hatched a different color. Still, she will do everything within her small power to be whatever her rider needs her to be, if only they will stay with her forever! There is nothing that she wouldn't do to makes Hers happy, and that includes trying to change herself to suit their needs, though making the change stick will be difficult. Her buoyant, happy nature bleeds through everything.

Positive Traits: Joyous, loving, cheerful, buoyant
Negative Traits: Overly trusting, blind, clingy, flighty

Adult Size: 14'
Physical Attributes: Little Alegriath will always be on the dainty side, quite close to the smallest possible for a white dragon. She is quite elegant, with lovely proportions in every respect. Her hide shimmers and glitters with the multi-faceted rainbow that white dragons are known for, although it is difficult to tell unless one looks quite close indeed.

Additional Notes: Deep, deep down Alegriath wishes that she could love as fully and deeply as others, for she does have the capacity for romantic love! But alas, so many do not wish to pair themselves with a dragon who cannot physically provide them with what they need. Still, she would be ever so loyal and faithful, if only someone were to give themselves to her. She absolutely adores snow, and would like so much to play in it! After all, she nearly disappears in it.

Theme Song: Alegria by Cirque du Soleil
Egg: Soft lavender mystery egg!

Why Me? When Alegriath got wind of poor Arlie's emotional state, why she couldn't resist seeking her out! Oh no, her poor Arlie needed her so badly, yet there was so little that Alegriath could do to help while in the egg. This sweet girl is just the right fit for the Cheering Charm, who wants nothing so much as she wants to brighten someone's day. It's practically impossible to get Alegriath down, and it may be that Arlie's life experience will teach her about the dark things that lurk in the shadows. Still, this soft, delicate darling does need someone who would not squash her cheerful light, and Arlie fits the bill amazingly well. It was a match from the very start, even though Arlie never knew her egg to begin with.

White Orath
Written by Uta
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: In many other languages, ora is the name for gold. This includes Aragonese, Esperanto, Ido, Spanish, Venetian, to name a few.

Inspiration: Golden Snitch

The Golden Snitch, often called simply the Snitch, is the third and smallest ball used in Quidditch. It is a walnut-sized gold-coloured sphere with silver wings. It flies around the Quidditch field at high speeds, sometimes pausing and hovering in place. The Seeker's goal is to catch the Snitch before the other team's seeker, which is worth one-hundred and fifty points. The game can only end when the Snitch has been caught, or by mutual agreement of the two teams' Captains; the latter is very rare, however, as one team would have to lose.

The Quidditch rule also stated that only the two team's Seeker has the right to catch (or touch) the Snitch, any player other than the Seeker to do so commits a foul called a Snitchnip.

Personality: Anything you can do, Orath can do better. At least, that's what this white dragon likes to think. He wasn't born with a chip on his shoulder, but he is very aware that he is an anomaly among High Reaches folk--and you can best believe that he isn't having any of it. Orath is a terribly competitive dragon, to the point where it can and will be problematic for his rider if he's not kept in line. If his clutchmates are doing fifty wingflap exercises, he'll do twice as many, in half the time! If one of his clutchsib wants to play a game, you can bet that Orath will find a way to turn it into a win-or-lose scenario and he will be the one to win it! Orath will keep tally of his wins on everything. He not only will remember how many times he beat any of his rivals, but he'll have no problem rubbing their noses in it, either. As for losing, well, this white won't talk about that, or will come up with a way to somehow turn it into a win. Ultimately, this white just wants his hard-work and training to pay off. He wants to become something great. He wants to be more than what he is, and that means diving headfirst into work. While he might show off doing so, there's no doubting that this dragon genuinely wants to succeed.

Unfortunately, his rider will need to keep Orath in line. This dragon is known to be a bit too independent, and too outspoken for his own good. He has no trouble standing up for himself, or his rider, and will not hesitate to bare his fangs at anyone who gives them a hard time. Can't they see he's just as great as anyone else? If they wont' see, he'll make the world see instead.

Orath is also known to be a bit flighty. While he can be very focused on working hard when it comes to official orders, everything else is less priority for this white. He's known to be a bit of a flake; he'll make promises and forget to keep them; he'll make plans with one group and saunter off with another if it looks like they're having more fun. He's the sort of white who doesn't seem to make close connections but flits from one dragon to another. He's a white who likes to be entertained, and is happy to chase the next new (and shinier) thing.

Positive Traits: Hardworking, Independent, Clever
Negative Traits: Hyper-competitive, Outspoken, Flighty

Adult Size: 18'
Physical Attributes: Orath is a large dragon. He is perfectly proportioned, though he tends to have a more delicate bone structure. He has stamina long enough to almost keep up with the smallest of greens, but he often wears himself out long before he gets that far trying to outfly and out-compete his wingmates.

Additional Notes: The one time Orath has no interest in competing is during Flights. He has no interest in chasing but also tends to look down his nose at those who do participate. As far as he's concerned, everyone loses. The female never gets away and loses by getting caught; of the males, only one wins, which makes the group collectively nothing but a bunch of losers. He enjoys turning his nose up at the big-to-do.

Theme Song: Roar by Katy Perry
Egg: White & Gold Mystery Egg 16

Why Me? Vash knows that hard work will get her places, and that sort of attitude is something that Orath understands. In fact, this white wants to prove that he's just as hardworking as his rider, and will certainly try to show off just for her sake. If he can grow to be just as strong and tough as any of his clutchsibs, then he might help lessen her load, or, if nothing else, take her to new heights!

Orath is here for Vash, for always. She wants to prove herself an asset and this white will take her there; furthermore, when she finds she can't speak up, or say no, Orath will have no problem doing so for her. Nobody will step on or take advantage of her big heart while he's around! Furthermore, he will keep her secrets safe; when she is down, this white will do whatever he can to cheer her up, or at least be there for her however she needs. She is his world.

In turn, Vash will be able to help keep Orath focused and grounded. Where he's prone to being a flighty creature, she will be able to keep him in line or at least draw him back and rein him in before he crosses a line. Her protectiveness is something Orath will need during times when even his own defenses are shaken, or when even his strength fails. Together, they can do anything; together they will care and support one another. Always.
