White Iljunfanth

Origin of Name: Iljunfanth's name is derived from the Maltese word for "elephant". Not only does baby mine focus on the main character, Dumbo, but also the deep and loving bond he shares with his mother. Elephants are also a very emotional, intelligent, and complex animal, with deep feelings.
Their intelligence has been compared with that of primates and cetaceans. Furthermre, they appear to have self-awareness and show empathy for dying or dead individuals of their kind.
Inspiration: Baby Mine - Dumbo
"Baby Mine" is a song from the 1941 Disney animated feature Dumbo. The music is by Frank Churchill, with lyrics by Ned Washington. Betty Noyes recorded the vocals for the original film version. In the film, Dumbo's mother, Mrs. Jumbo, an elephant locked in a circus wagon, cradles her baby Dumbo with her trunk while this lullaby is sung. It is also the last appearance of the circus animals.
The song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 14th Academy Awards in 1942.
Dumbo is based upon a children's story written by Helen Aberson and illustrated by Harold Pearl that was prepared to demonstrate the prototype of a toy storytelling display device called Roll-A-Book, which was similar in principle to a panorama. It involved only eight drawings and just a few lines of text, and had Red Robin as Dumbo's ally instead of Timothy Mouse. Originally it was intended to be a short film; however, Disney soon found that the only way to do justice to the book was to make it feature-length. At the time, the Disney Studio was in serious financial trouble due to the war in Europe, which caused Pinocchio and Fantasia to fail at the box office, with the result that Dumbo was intended to be a low-budget feature designed to bring revenue to the studio
Watercolor paint was used to render the backgrounds. Dumbo and Snow White are the only two classic Disney features to use the technique, which was regularly employed for the various Disney cartoon shorts. The other Disney features used oil paint and gouache. 2002's Lilo & Stitch, which drew influences from Dumbo, also made use of watercolor backgrounds
Personality: Iljunfanth is a sweet and tender little dragon. He is painfully aware that he is a white dragon in High Reaches, and with the culture being what it is, knows that much of the Weyr looks at him as an abomination. Should anyone tell him a cruel word, or sneer at him or his rider, you can bet this little white will likely droop and fall to pieces. He certainly doesn't want to be a let down or disappointment, and will strive to be the best little dragon he can be! His rider will need to support him and offer Iljunfanth comfort when the going gets tough or criticism comes their way.
An emotional and clingy dragon, once he finds His, he will be attached by the hip, and struggle to be parted with His. His rider will need to instill a sense of boundaries with Iljunfanth, lest the white become overly-attached. When his rider isn't with him, the little white will likely seek out a clutchmate, or his mother or father, and pine. He hates to be truly alone, and wants nothing more than to be with his family, as a whole. Even with his rider, he will loathe the day his clutchsiblings will strike out on their own, or be transferred to different Wings; Faranth forbid any of his siblings not make it through training! Oh, his poor hearts could hardly take such a tragedy.
Emotions run passionately through such a small body. He loves freely, without judgment, will not hesitate to let it show. Happiness, pleasure, and delight run through him without walls or filters; he will trumpet his feelings, bugle his joy, and sing to the world without hesitation. Just as strongly, though, Iljunfanth will mourn, weep, and despair. When his feelings are hurt, his world shatters; when someone is upset with him, or angry, he will crumble. He is a soft touch, and it doesn't take much negativity to get him down. No one could ever say Iljunfanth was a liar -- he says what he means, and acts how he feels.
Despite his gentility, Iljunfanth is the sort of white who will be kind to just about anyone. He is particularly good with littles, the sick, and those who are smaller than him. Despite the darkness in the world, despite a fear of Thread, this white looks through the world with the eyes of a child. He is innocent, rarely understanding deception, or how individuals could say one thing, and do another. Liars, manipulators, cruel sorts would find easy prey in Iljunfanth -- but he is not without his protectors. If his rider isn't there, then he will always have some of his more loving and kind clutchsiblings... and if nothing else, Krahsujunth and Fianth to look to!
Ever loving, Iljunfanth is a very affectionate white. He loves to cuddle, loves for his eyeridges to be scratched, and will seek out physical contact from just about anyone who is willing to give him the attention he seeks. Even if it's just touching someone with his tail, or reaching out to rest his head against his rider's lap, Iljunfanth will never outgrow his need for cuddles.
Positive Traits: Innocent, Gentle, Affectionate
Negative Traits: Clingy, Sensitive, Emotional
Adult Size: 16'
Physical Attributes: Average for a white, Iljunfanth is a baby with wings that are far too big for his body. In fact, he will likely have them dragging on the ground until the rest of him catches up to his wings. Though he'll mostly grow into them as a grows, they will always be a big awkwardly large. Flight will be almost a challenge, especially if his rider doesn't get him to exercise and really work his wing muscles; he will need to be strong enough to use them if his flight skills won't suffer.
Additional Notes: This white is particularly clingy to his parents, and to his rider. He tends to suffer separation anxiety, and is not the sort of dragon who wants to leave the nest. If his rider isn't near, he will try to find his parents; if his parents aren't near, then he really starts to get upset. He will need a lot of support by his rider to get through it, but will always be a Mommy and Daddy's boy.
He will never rise or chase, but will likely enjoy and yearn for a relationship as strong as that of his parents. Who might love and be as devoted to him as Krah is to Fianth? He hopes to find someone out there someday though would probably be too shy to instigate.
Theme Song: Baby Mine Cover by Alison Krauss
Egg: A small pink egg with two little black spots that almost look like eyes. It sits quietly up front and wants nothing but your love.
Why Me? Zyanzi is the perfect match for little, tender Iljunfanth. To start, this white needs a mother hen in his life, especially as he has no choice but to be parted from his parents. His clingy nature will go well with Zyanzi's fussing; he needs someone to look after him, especially with his sensitive and emotional hearts. Furthermore, he needs someone who isn't crass or forceful; someone who is gentle and more soft than sharp edges. There is no doubt that Zyanzi will be able to care for and coddle Iljunfanth, even while helping the little white grow and come into his own. Lastly, Iljunfanth's love for family, and Zyanzi's view that all the world is his family, goes hand-in-hand.
Iljunfanth will give Zyanzi all the affection the man might want. There is never too much affection or contact for this white; he will cuddle, nuzzle, nestle, and keep attached to His whenever possible. In turn, his protective streak will serve the innocent Iljunfanth well. Zyanzi will need to keep an eye on his white to ensure he doesn't fall prey to the manipulators, liars, and cheats in the world, or that others won't crush his hearts through insensitivity. Ah, but fear not Zyanzi--you can bet that Iljunfanth will defend Zyanzi with tooth and little white claw. While he isn't prone to aggression, even this little marshmallow will defend his as fiercely as his blue father! .... or at least he'll try.
Together, these two might be the softer side of their clutchmates, but there is strength in sweetness and goodness too. These two will prove that to every pair they meet, and shall go on to become excellent wingriders.
