OWLS:

Astronomy: {A}
While Mary found astronomy interesting, it was not her favorite subject. This exam was a perfect example of her heavy extracurricular schedule of quidditch and drama club hurting her academic pursuits. While this was not the case for most of her courses, astronomy did suffer and she was slightly disappointed with her Acceptable in the course.

Charms: {O}
Much like her father, Mary had a knack for charms and with her dedication to studying, she easily secured an Outstanding.

DADA: {EE}
Mary was never particularly poor at magic and even Defense Against the Dark Arts, but it did not come quite as easily to her as her brother. She was quite content with her score on this exam.

Herbology: {EE}
While Mary did not have her brother's brown thumb, she did have a fear of Professor Hill which held back her confidence which she would have needed to secure even a chance at an O. Mary was happy with her Exceeds Expectations though.

History of Magic: {O}
Mary loved History of Magic even if Quinn wasn't a huge fan of it. She loved reading her text book and often would as her bedtime story (along with her Mythology book) and as a result got an O quite easily.

Potions: {A}
Much to Mary's frustration, potions did not come easy to her and she struggled in the subject far more than her twin, despite knowing the importance of a proper potion. In the end she decided that it would be best for her just not to go in the field of potioneering and accept her Acceptable.

Transfiguration: {EE}
Transfiguration did not come as easy as charms for Mary, but she studied hard and was rewarded with an Exceeds Expectations.

Alchemy: {A}
Mary studied hard for all of her classes, but potions did not come easily to her and nor did the related Alchemy.

Arithmancy: {O}
Getting less than Outstanding in Arithmancy seemed unacceptable to Mary. Due to her aunt being a former professor and having easy access to a former professor of the subject, Mary was wise enough to take advantage of this resource in studying for the exam. As she expected of herself she got nearly a perfect score resulting in an Outstanding she was quite proud of.

Divination: {EE}
Mary is no seer, but she always loved the art of divination. She studied hard for the class and had an open mind to interpretation of signs.

Healing: {EE}
Mary knew healing was an important subject even though they felt their mother who had little right to offer her opinion pushed both her and her brother towards the subject. Mary's natural skill at most magic and dedication to studying resulted in a very solid Exceeds Expectations.

Mythology: {O}
Mary loved mythology to the extent she would curl up and read her text book as a bedtime story. Dreaming mythological stories definitely helped her on the exam. Mary was not surprised by her grade in the course and was quite proud of how she did.

Wandless: {D}
Mary had thought wandless was going to be a fun class. She instead found it aggravating with a professor that stole almost all the boys' attention and disagreed with the professors teaching technique starting with "stealing" her wand when she first walked in the door. Mary did try, but she was not a natural at wandless magic and in fact after three years of the course could only manage the bare minimal hint of magic without her wand. Mary suspected she got a pity score and really deserved a Troll.

Wizard Law: {O}
Mary enjoyed being the star of the show and with her brother had plenty of practice making logical arguments. Mary was a bit surprised she managed an O, expecting to do a little worse than Quinn but in the end she was able to stand on her own intellect and study habits quite well.

NEWTs

Charms: {O}
Mary had always been confident in Charms and assumed as she was her father’s daughter it was obvious; she would do spectacular in charmwork. Her confidence carried her far in this class as her true natural talent and dedication to squeezing in studying between Drama Club and Quidditch.

DADA: {A}
As the coursework in DADA grew harder, so did the obviousness that Mary lacked talent in this subject. Hard work and studying could only get one so far. Mary would have loved a higher score on this exam, but understood as far as talents she was Average at best. An A would do in her opinion.

History of Magic: {O}
Mary’s love for History of Magic never changed as she progressed towards graduation. She still often made her history texts her bedtime stories. With history dancing in her dreams it was easy for her to apply her knowledge of history on an exam.

Transfiguration: {EE}
Mary’s hard work again secured her an EE in Transfiguration. She was never particularly bad at the subject, though it was not a strength of hers, and as a result with her hard work earned a very respectable grade.

Arithmancy: {O}
Mary never struggled with numbers, had an aunt who was a former professor of the subject just outside of Hogsmeade, and loved all forms of divination. It would have been difficult, even if she botched the exam to do worse than an EE. She did her best and easily scored an Outstanding.

Divination: {EE}
Mary was sure that being not a true seer, fate did not have an O in her future for the NEWTs. She loved the subject, and worked hard. She is sure she can foretell the future from tea leaves, crystal balls, and more with the best of them. An EE well-earned for her dedication to the subject and her study habits.

Healing: {EE}
Much to her brother’s annoyance, Mary had a bit of a knack for the subject. She didn’t see healing in her future, but saw no reason to drop the class or goof off about the class or her studies for it. Besides as the Captain of her Quidditch team she took pride in knowing how to help heal a bruise or cut if the occasion called for it without worrying about causing any harm in the process.

Mythology: {O}
Mary loved Mythology just as much if not more than History of Magic. She often would alternate her history texts with her mythology texts under her pillow. Her love of reading the subject matter paid off when it came to her NEWTs.

Wizard Law: {EE}
Mary might make a good debater and a very good study of law but being good for the NEWT level exams was not going to let her easily coast into an O like with the OWLs. Mary was happy with her EE and by no means going to take up a formal complaint with her graders regarding this score.
