RP Discord Rules
Character Rules
Please RP only one character at a time! If they have Impressed a dragon, flit(s), or wher, then you may also include them if it seems appropriate.
If you want to RP your dragon or have the dragon be the focus, you will need to change your name as the dragon.
You must change your Discord nickname to match the character you wish to RP! Examples of nicknames are below:
Nickname Examples Weyrwoman Zheria: Only Zheria would be RPed, with minimal commentary from Eveleth H'sad & blue Cinonth: H'sad is likely the main focus, but Cinonth will probably be nearby in the same location, or offering commentary in the tags on and off. Brown Minoth: This brown wants some individual attention. His rider will be busy elsewhere, so the dragon will be the focus. RPing the dragon opens up some dragon-only areas, such as the Fireheights.
You can RP as Pernese, or you can RP as your dragon. We ask you don't RP solely as your wher, flit, or feline. While they can come into the RP server, they must come accompanied with their handler and you can write them together.
RP "Rooms"
If someone is clearly RPing with someone, please ask them privately if it's okay to have your character interrupt or head over!
Just because multiple people are writing in one "room" doesn't mean everyone is privy to the conversation being had. The Dining Hall is quite large so folks could be sitting far away from one another, as are many other rooms.
Have your character "enter" and "exit" the rooms as you come and go between rooms or when you first arrive.
Entrance/Exit Example This could be something like: -D'mon left the Dining Hall, heading out for the Bowl.-
Make sure you RP your character in the right "room". Note that dragons can't physically be in most rooms as they are too big, but they can still comment to their riders.
Feel free to @ someone if the room is crowded or cluttered unless they request you not to do so.
Keep OOC questions or comments to the Main Discord RP Server or private DMs. We want this place to purely be IC.
IC Action = IC Consequence! This will affect your characters in-game so don't think, because it's on Discord, you can be silly or have your character break rules. That will result in problems!
If you must leave the Discord or decide to stop playing, if possible, we ask you have your character exit in some fashion, even if it's something simple.
Exiting H'sad interrupted, "Cinonth says we're being summoned. Gotta fly!"
Keep everything PG-13! Take anything NSFW or breaching PG-13 to DMs or fade-to-black.
We will not make private weyrs or private quarters. There's too many of you to support that so please don't ask. This is meant for more open fun to break in new characters or just have some casual IC fun. Guild & Forum RP is still highly encouraged, this is just a different option.
Try to keep the posts under the limit. We understand some tags might be longer, but we don't expect the level of detail like the guild offers. You are welcome to always move a Discord RP to private DMs or an official guild RP!
Activity in the Discord, as of right now, won't count towards Clutch Activity Thread Count, or Wingleader/Wingsecond Activity Thread Counts. For now, you will still need to RP your character in the Guild for counts! Hopefully this RP Server will encourge your muse or allow for more official RPs to be spun off of them.
Discord Prompts
Here are some Discord tips and tricks!
If you want to italicize something, use asterisks. This is a good way to show when a dragon is speaking to someone, or a rider speaking to their dragon telepathically. It is private conversation unless a dragon is speaking specifically to someone else, or a rider specifically to another dragon.
To show action, you can use dashes. -D'mon enters the Dining Hall with his usual confident smirk and swagger.-
To show verbal conversation, you can use quotes. "How goes it, Weyrman R'mor? I trust Junenth and yours are well?"
You may use @DiscordName to catch the attention of the person you are RPing with if the room is crowded or busy. If a player requests you not @ them, then please respect their wishes. |
