Kiketsu sighed as he grasped his hands around the throat of one of the last samurai in the mines with him. A wave of unsettling chakra washed over the unhinged wanderer and he turned to the last man, whose compatriot he still gripped angrily, his grin grew and cocked to one side of his face. The madness that haunted Kiketsu was in full effect now, and his chakra flared as he approached the last conscious opponent, the one in his hands now unconscious as he continued to fight for air and was drug by Hirohisa towards the exit.
The remaining samurai attempted to flee, he turned, ran, and hit the door that they had used to bar the others inside the mine. Where other innocents died or were sorted out before they were allowed to leave. Kiketsu smirked at the notion, threw the now dead man from his hands, and leapt at the man against the door,their combined weight carried them through it and careened the Samurai down the hillside.
Here Kiketsu saw the sky, the horrible projection that brought... something. Men and women stood on the hill that seemed to order these creatures, or at the very least were ignored by them. Then to his opposite side Hirohisa heard armor, an army. He didn't recognize them, but he was apt to believe that they sided with thr Samurai who assailed him in the mines.
"Damned if we do." he said aloud to himself, as he stood between these two forces. Damned if we don't. So kill them all. his inner voice responded.
Kiketsu leapt down from the mine entrance into the chaos that formed below, and just as the forces began to clash he took aim on the first group of Footsoldiers he saw in combat. Activating his Byakugan as he came into the fray he adjusted himself as he fell and thrust his palm towards the crowd of mixed forces, a sudden and powerful gust of chakra bursting forth as he landed and shifted his stance. Go for the head! Kiketsu's inner voice shouted louder and louder as the man took the field.
Hirohisa scanned the field through the debris of his first strike and saw two figures remained away from the fight. One cloaked, another a large beast. His eyes focused in on them and the chakra of the portal as it coalesced and flickered, his hands settled through a quick range of motions, and as he set the last seal, the air around the commander and beast whipped into a frenzy. The buffet of excited air aimed to rend them apart and tear the very air from them, using the debris from the field as razor projectiles. The group of Kogarashi warriors and a couple beast clashing with the Imperial forces were blindsided by the destructive surprise attack. It was inevitable that both sides of the conflict suffered from the third-party attack and this drew quite a bit of attention to him. Even more so when he boldly directed an attack at the cloaked gate guardian and the twenty-foot tall fiery behemoth accompanying them at the dimensional rift. A pair pale violent glowing orbs hung within the shadowed hood of the human figure as the winds blew around them. They didn't so much as flinch as gusts of air intensified into sharp winds that cut into his coverings. The flaming monstrosity roar angrily at the battlefield where this wind attack came from then became alight with intense heat which would consume the wind then disperse it entirely. The embers scattered about and it growled in contempt for Kiketsu. The cloaked man nodded and the monster charged forth, bringing its hulking figure to the front lines to face the daring warrior head on. Its body once again became consumed in fire as it aimed to trample the determined foe and any Imperial forces caught in its path. The guard remained behind with the rift in the meantime to upkeep his duties. More Kogarashi forces would spill out now that their foes had arrived en masse, giving Sandayu's vanguard reinforcement of several more elite fighters and more variety of strange and terrifying beasts.

__Now this! This is what Nohea lived for. Busting onto the battlefield with blood on the mind, the little shark girl's body erupted in bouts of electrical sparks that stimulated her muscles. Racing through the shoulders that were defending the little mining town and right into the real action. From her massive flounder blade, a second copy of it's likeness torn free and both in hand Nohea preformed a twisting maneuver that flung a massive concussive blast off the end of each blade. Their combined power ready to tear clean through enemy forces. Meanwhile one angry little shark girl come running in ready to follow up while foaming at the mouth. She had no clue whether or not the small contingent behind her had followed but she was long since past the point of caring.

While active, the armor prevents damage equal to it's own rank. In addition, it prevents the user from having their DR decreased below their natural passive states.This armor lasts for three posts at C rank and an additional post for every rank additionally applied.

Smoke enveloped Kiketsu and he sighed as the commander and beast freed themselves from the tradewinds. It couldn't always be simple. It was never simple. The smoke formed a figure, hands wrapped around Kiketsu's throat and smoke poured from his sleeves and collar. White flames formed at his palms and he growled.
"Stay the ******** down!" He shouted as the flames coursed around his fist, then leapt off to strike the creature before it could reach him.
The pressure mounted from the Mountain Crusher as Kiketsu stepped forward into it, then jumped as a new arrival, Nohea, made her appearance known. He sailed over the concussive force of her weapon.
Kiketsu's eyes were focused on the Commander once again, undeterred by the rampaging beast he had set towards him, he sought only a good fight. Good fights came from me who understood what they did, not the beasts or the mindless pawns they controlled. The wanderer growled, his head tilted down as he landed and began a slow, methodical march towards the man. His steps echoed in his mind, the sound of combat faded around him, and all he heard was the stones as they rumbled before him, and the blood that pulsed in his veins.
Kiketsu could taste his disdain now. He felt every pulse from his heart and wanted it to stop. No, it wasn't his heart he wanted to stop, it was his opponents. The radial vision of the Byakugan was focused on the man and he felt out the pulse of his being while he contemplated. Then without a second thought, he rushed the man, arms primed, and as he approached they twisted into a flurry of blows. Pinpoint strikes and hardened palms all aimed to disrupt everything about the man. Kiketsu aimed for blood, and he would not be sated until this man and both armies lain dead at his feet.
"Hirohisa... Come on back. There's more coming." The small voice in his head called, it pleaded with him to return to a semblance of calm, against its normal drive to shove him from the ledge.
Kiketsu wouldn't listen.
"Come on. Get up. I'll put your pet down one hundred more times. I'll put you down until I can't get back up! I'll take down one-hundred more armies and bats the size of houses." The madman shouted and turned to face the armies, turned only so far as to keep the commander in his peripheral should he have not gone down for good.

tab Lahlil came stumbling through the portal rather clumsily, having only recently beginning to use them as a means of travel she didn't think the lurching feeling would ever go away. Rumbling tummies would have to be put aside however as the young woman gently lifted her head to find herself placed right snuggly on an erupting battlefield. One half she could at least recognize as the soldiers from the land of floods while whoever they were at battle with were completely unknown to her. Their monstrous forms marked them as some kind of creature far from the likeness of humans. Many if the larger creatures that made up their ranks were tearing through the defenders with surprising ease. Blood and gore were thrown through the air and were it not for her own genjutsu Lahlil might have been forced to look away. Instead though her thoughts turned to regret for bringing one so newly into ninjahood to this bloodbath. Not even just Shouri, but to all those little ones who had ran on through the portal at what? Her orders? And just who was she to command people to their deaths?
Lahlil bit her lip so hard that blood spilled over the edge. Without a thought, scream, or anything indication at all, did a massive stone gargoyle summon into existence. His form, while large, was only in sight for a moment before it morphed into the earth. What came after could only be described as the rumbling precursor of an earthquake. Like the maw of some great beast the earth itself torn apart right underneath thoss coming from the opposing portal. This was only the start of their downfall as Lahlil, who had now taken on the visage of a bat-human hybrid, summoned a typhoon launching into the heart of their ranks. The swirling force of nature chakra carried only made it's violent riptide currents all the more powerful. Any which were not careful would now be dragged by the hurricane and into the gapping chasm, filled to the brim with jagged spikes.

__ Shouri was disoriented after the bat ride and subsequent trip through the portal. When he stepped through he saw war raging on all sides. He stood next to Lahlil and would accompany his friend throughout the process. He wanted to help but despised war and was not going to chase minor glories. Adrenaline took over even as he was being mentally scarred by the horrors of war. He snapped his fingers and launched a potent fire lily forward into a clump of enemies. Lahlil's summoning and following earthquake were quite impressive so he would just follow her lead and assist with fire.

Once more into the mines. Oyuuncheng's feet stomped with her supply belt full to the brim with...well, supplies. It was a good day for mining but before one could go and start plugging away at the eager earth, they had to prepare their tools. She brought some tool cleaner for this kind of job and began to coat her pick axe with it. Chips of the earth from before were plucked off to leave the steel coated coal comber as clean as a whistle! Oyuu gave it a few practice swings and then reapplied her cleaner to it. "Still a worker, ain't ya?" She grinned and commenced to work.

Thnk! The tool found its mark into the mine strips dark underground while Oyuun had only the sound of her braid accessories clanging together to keep her company. She was always a bit of a solo wolf. Maybe it fit her or maybe she was just tired of being surrounded by a bunch of idiots who looked down at her. Swing after swing. more and more deposit was logded free and was collected into her burlap bag that hang on a piece of the framework above. After a straight five minutes of miraculous mining, Oyuu took a break and collect herself and see what load she had thus far.

It was a quiet day so far. Not many people came here any more. An oddity considering that Arashi's many mines would have been essential in keeping the floating village afloat. Maybe there was a different energy than coal? She hoped to see for herself one day. While working on wiping the chunks of earth from her pickaxe, Oyuun felt the hard rock against her back push back against her resting spot next to her sack of loot. "Shoulda taken the fresh one. Can't believe every ten minutes you've got more rocks on you then the actual mountain."

With her tool free of on kind of nasty elements, it was back to work for the workaholic worker woman! The song of earth and steel was heard all around the shaft as the lone miner swung away to her heart's content. What these things would be used for, it was hard to say at this part. Maybe a nice sword or kunai? It was all up to chance. Although it was under less than ideal circumstances, Oyuun was elated to finally be out collecting, gathering and later, creating the materials into her own creation. no more following company or guild blueprints. Everything was all her. 24/7! She kept going, this time for a solid half an hour before she broke and went to sit down.

It was a length period of time that she had been inside of the mine. It was hard to even say what time of day it was now. For all the hawty Hojo knew it could have been days or weeks since stepping inside of the massive mine shafts. The last few bits of her break were spent cleaning her tools yet again of debris and the like. The strap of cloth and freed from her forehead and wiped across the smeared pickaxe while growing very exhausted here. It was a bit difficult to really do this for long periods of time, having once been able to afford the privilege of outrageous ores and things being sent directly to her back home. Ever since she had left gathering materials proved to be that much harder though brought a sense of pride inside of her. Moreso than what she did then.

Once more the sturdy tool broke away as the exposed vein of the earth in front of Oyuun. Her skin was warm with the residue of minerals and sweat but still she continued her striking. Which each crack of her axe, the earthen riches plopped into the sack she held open. Her breathing was getting far too shaky down here. That feeling of wet one got when drenched completely in sweat was much too annoying for her. It would have to do without a spring to bathe in, but Oyuun was sure there would be far and few in between down here. Her caramel hands gripped the pommel and swung for a final time while gathering the last chunk and fastening her bag to her shoulder.

The pouch of fresh spring water was brought to Oyuun's lips while it swallowed a great deal of water. The cold liquid traveled down her gullet and landed inside of her stomach without too much of a fuss. Her warm body felt it flow all the way down while a few droplets flowed down her chest and soon hit her top. The pouch was secured and placed back on her side for now while she brushed her pickaxe off a little and moved to a fresh new strip where few had began to venture before. Sure it was a bit dangerous and very few had a chance of coming out unprepared but where wa sthe fun in playing safe?

She set to work qiuckly and took a few swings at the vein in front of her. The sound of metal against earth echoed against the empty shaft walls. Down here there was very little to keep one company aside form such things. Those physical bodies that did normally weren't too happy to have their home being invaded. After the third most recent swing, Oyu swiveled her head around for any rodents or bats or really anything. Her work was private and she was going to keep it that way if she could help it.

The mining town was one that could easily be missed on the map, but it was this very hidden-in-plain-sight quality that enabled the criminal underbelly to operate here without any fear. Kai was solemn as they neared the town. He removed his headband and came to a stop just outside of the entrance and turned to his team. "When people talk about underground rings, they're usually metaphorical, but we're actually looking for a dog fighting ring that's underneath the earth. It might be one of the mines, or in a totally different kind of cavern or pit. All we know is that it bears the Hidden Sound symbol by its entrance, but in the color red." His team would see the frequent occurrence of Sound symbols throughout the sound, as many here were proud of their heritage despite its rocky history.
"I recommend you hide your headbands. Any sign of village shinobi will put them on alert, and they'll either push us out of the town or close up the ring." He had formulated a strategy as they traveled, but as nighttime fell on the town, he felt they might have more luck trying to overhear something at a bar rather than look around the town themselves. "I'm going to that building -" he pointed at the Mythril Bar - "to listen for any details about the dog fighting ring. You're welcome to join me, or scout on your own. If y-"
The sound of thunder interrupted him, and he nearly jumped out of his skin as he turned around. He saw some man running towards the entrance after a rugged dog, shouting profanities and re-casting what must have been a thunderous auditory genjutsu, though the dog didn't flinch and made its way towards them.

Sumika didn't get a chance to respond to Kai before the madman casting the jutsu made his appearance onto the scene. For her part, the sudden chaos didn't seem to particularly phase her, as she leveled a finger like a gun, and drew in some of the iron sand from her cloak. A condensed ball of jiton zipped away silently a moment later, heading square for the man's groin. "Shouldn't the person going into the bar be, like, not a child?" She asked rather casually, her hand disappearing back below the cloak of iron sand that rippled over her shoulders. Of course, Sumika had about a dozen different ways to solve this particular problem, but this exercise wasn't really for her. Considering that, she was keen to see any drinking being done involving, and particularly fixating on, her. Perhaps then watching the others attempt to solve the puzzle box of the mission would be more bearable, and she'd have them not get mad at her for ruining their learning experience. It wasn't so much that Sumika wasn't interested in helping, but rather that this entire scenario seemed designed for them and not for her.

Miki really hadn't expected such a long journey to the land of floods for her first mission, but not like she could complain. It was great for her to be able to see more than just Konoha already. As the group of shinobi came upon the town, she couldn't help but feel a little tense at the moment. It was a bit surprising, but she was a little nervous for her first real mission. The girl nodded at Kai's description of the entrance and committed it to memory as best she could. "Oh right!" Miki would say as her hand reached for her headband and hastily put it away in one of her various pockets. Before much more of the missions details could be divulged, there was a thundering noise that seemed as though it could have shook the earth itself if it wanted. Miki's eyes immediately focused on the dog that came into view. The girl seemed excited almost immediately upon seeing the dog. With a quick motion she would pull out a pouch of snacks she had brought along for the trip before pulling out a strawberry. Miki would then drop down into a squatted position, holding the strawberry out in front of her. "Come here puppy. Come get a treat!" She'd call out, a bright smile on her face as she waited to see what the dog decided to do next.
In typical Himitsu fashion, he'd barely spoken a word since leaving Konoha's Gates, speaking only when it was required of him and as concisely as possible. It certainly made for a long trip, but it was better than being discovered and actually making the trip longer. Himitsu listened carefully as Kai addressed the squad, noting the symbol to be on the look-out for. He removed his headband, then dropped his backpack to the ground. He folded up his headband and placed it in the bag, then removed his jacket and tossed it in as well. He zipped up his bag and managed to get one strap on properly before thunder exploded in his ears.
The Uchiha's heart skipped a beat from the sound, but he recovered quickly and dropped his stance, looking for the source of the noise. When the second boom hit, Himitsu silently launched himself to the side of the road, and drew three senbon from his leg pouch, holding each between his fingers. He remained there and observed the man and dog approaching, waiting for a clear intent, or direction from Kai, to attack.

The dog seemed a little suspicious of Miki at first, but eventually relented and came to her for the treat, even though his ears showed he was still a little fearful. Kai took the moment's respite to rub at his temples with one hand. He only allowed it for a moment before he jumped back into his peppy persona, clapping his hands together as he turned to his team. "I think we're off to a good start!" He thought of what directive to give next, but Sumika's comment played in his mind again.
"AlsoIcanlegallydrinkokaythankyou." He then cleared his throat. "I appreciate everyone's quick thinking and reactions. The best thing to do now is probably interrogate our friend here," he said as he gestured to the man who was still on the ground. He picked up the man, using a restraining technique he learned from a 'friend' at the KPD. "This small town doesn't have formal guards and it doesn't look like we've been seen. We're going to conduct some ethical questioning. And I think we'll start by allowing Sumika to ask the questions, and the rest of us will keep guard and learn something. How's that sound?" There was a bit of challenge in his voice, but his expression was warm all the same. He was sure Sumika would feel bored the entire mission, but allowing her to take lead here might make her feel a little challenged, or at least open her up to more team building in the future if she felt like she was contributing. It was hard to remember the details about what to do about reticent students...

"So you're buying then, eh?" Sumika said, deftly turning Kai's assertion around on him as she finally pulled her headband off and wandered over to the restrained man. "Let's see. Hmm. Ah!" The puppeteer formed a handseal as she had her revelation, a relatively normal sized rat poofing into the palm of her hand as she released it. "This is Ninkilim. Ninkilim is a god." She said, as if the idea that she had just summoned a god was perfectly normal. "Ninkilim does this." The woman continue, dragging the cloth of her headband over the rat so it was concealed momentarily. As she removed it again there were two rats, which she set on the ground in front of him. The two rodents began curiously exploring the area near the man as she went on. "Now." Sumika said, bonking the man on the forehead softly with the metal of her headband, tucking it away as she spoke. "You're going to tell us why you're out here being an a*****e. Like, with deets and whatnot. Yeah? Or there's gonna be a lot of rats and, well, that's actually out of my control. 'Cause of the whole god thing." In reality, if this particular flourish didn't achieve the desired result Sumika was more than willing to just yank the info out of his head. She possessed the ninjutsu for it, she just preferred less... invasive measures. There were, of course, a variety of other options that were usually not as effective also on the table.

Miki was patient with the dog as she could understand why the creature was skeptical of her at first. "It's okay baby. I won't hurt you." Miki said with the sweetest voice she could muster. Not soon long after the dog came closer to her for the strawberry. The girl made sure to remain as still as she possibly could to not spook the animal. As soon as it was comfortable to take the treat, she would then attempt to gently pet behind it's ear with her free hand to let it know it wasn't to be harmed. "It's okay bubbas. We got you now." Miki would say with a smile, her face turning in the direction of Kai as he began to give direction again. With a task given, Miki had some direction of what she thought she could do to help. However, she would wait to see what Sumika would do. Part of Miki was just curious if the man would give any answers that actually would be helpful in their mission.
Miki wasn't quite sure how Sumika did the trick of making the rat duplicate. Her eyes narrowed a bit as she continued to watch what the creatures were doing. The girl's head tilted slightly as Sumika bonked him on the head with her headband. She wondered what Sumika had done, but she knew better than to ask right at that moment. Miki would have to ask later or perhaps if she listened on she may get an answer regardless. The girl turned her attention back to the dog as her hand had been continuously petting the animal. Miki cautiously pulled another strawberry from her snack pouch before offering it to the puppy once again. "Can you show me where the rest of your family is buddy?" Miki would say with a smile, knowing fully that the creature wouldn't be able to understand her. "We wanna save them and give them treats too!" She'd continue, once against petting the creature behind it's ear. As she spoke with it and attempted to gain it's trust, Miki would look over the animal to see if there were any outward signs of injury on the poor thing. If there were, she'd make a mental note of them so that Kai could take a better look.
Himitsu watched Sumika drop the man with a single shot, testifying to her accuracy among other things. He wasn't quite sure what she had hit him with, but it was definitely effective. Despite his concerns about the dog itself, it seemed to be at least entertaining the idea of playing nice for Miki. As Kai approached the man, Himitsu watched closely in anticipation for further action. He especially focused on Kai's restraint technique, hoping to try it out himself at some point with a little coaching.
When Kai gave out his next set of directions, Himitsu nodded, then quickly made his way up into the branches of a nearby group of trees, just off the road. Once in place, he placed his senbon back into their pouch, and released his bow then his quiver from his Uchiha Art: Lightning Seal. He strapped his quiver on tightly, then nocked an arrow and scanned the area.
He stopped briefly to watch Sumika's initial display, trying to make little notes for himself. "She summons... rats? A rat god? Bullshit. When she duplicated the rat, he mentally rolled his eyes, trying to stay professional in appearance at least. "So she can make a clone of a rat... OoooOooooooo!" Despite his own bias, he did have to admit it would probably be a decent method. Anyone who knew anything about rats has an idea of what they do when they're bored, let alone hungry...
The boy's wandering thoughts grossed himself out enough to disengage himself visually from that situation and shift his attention to Miki. She seemed to be doing well with the dog. It looked like it was letting her scour it for injury, with patience that surprised Himitsu. "Hopefully it doesn't n** at her if she does find something." From there, he simply let his gaze wander, watching for anything of note and keeping his fingers tight on the bow string in case he needed to draw.
