Kai watched carefully as Sumika summoned a rat. He had no idea what kind of problem solver she was; he kept an appropriate distance but tried to commit the scene the memory. Fortunately, it seemed to be the right pressure point. The man was squirming violently at the sight of the rat, outright beginning to sweat at the appearance of two of them. "Stop! Stop! Dear god, get that filthy ******** thing away from me!" The man began to hyperventilate. He struggled to piece together Sumika's questions in his mind, the concepts moving as if through molasses. "Uh, uh, s**t, we uh, ******** - um, we operate down in the Horseshoe, ah, it's got a red sign, ohmygod, it's right by the we- by the..." He finally succumbed to unconsciousness, slumping over.
"Huh." Kai uncrossed his arms, looking around before running his hand in his air with an air of nervousness. "We should, like, leave him here to recollect himself when he wakes. We can go on with that much, I think. We're looking for some area of town named Horseshoe or something and it's by a 'we-'." He looked around his team expectantly, looking forward to shadowing them as they moved through the town to figure something or other out. He watched as the stray licked at Miki's hands but had no visual injuries, though he bore a scar on his right hind leg that looked vicious.

Horseshoe is the name of a particular cavern, and the 'we-' part is that the entrance to the cavern is next to a water well. The red sound symbol is not on the outside of the cavern but it's actually a few meters into the cavern as you descend; the sign is posted next to the right path of a fork in the path.

As the rats scurried in and out of sight, they multiplied again, this time without Sumika's input, effortlessly slipping into the spaces between the visible and reappearing as four. "Awe, come on. The last guy made it to eight you big baby. Ninkilim’s barely any fun before they get to bigger numbers." She snapped her fingers with a sigh and the rats poofed away a moment later. "Lick 'em Cobalt." Sumika said as the big bear wandered over and, apparently, began attempting to steal one of the man's shoes. “Any of y’all got any idea of what ‘weh’ is?” She asked, finally turning her attention back to the squad for a change. “I guess it doesn’t matter if big guy or the dog here can track them back.” Sumika mused without input, glancing over her shoulder as Cobalt began licking a stone on the road that the man had stepped on.
For her part she didn’t like how easy it was to get information out of this guy. Maybe it was the decade of kicking around on the frayed edges of the shinobi world, but the puppeteer regarded things that went smoothly as a sign that they were doing anything but. Dude sprinting around after a dog using ninjutsu and then not putting up a fight? It seemed tailormade to catch their attention and pull them in. Maybe she was just being jaded, but while she expected weak enemies on this mission, she didn’t expect them to be of the variety that hyperventilated themselves into unconsciousness or revealed info without any real persuasion.

After noticing the scar, Miki sighed to herself and gave the creature a light kiss on the head. "I'm sorry if they hurt you." She'd say before standing up to see what her teammates were doing. It was a good chance to see how they operated. Sumika seemed to have more experience than her and Himitsu. However, Miki wasn't sure how much more experienced she was over Kai. Though her methods seemed more forceful, Miki supposed Sumika wouldn't use them if they weren't tried and true. A laugh escaped Miki's lips as she watched the man squirming due to the rats Sumika had placed on him. "Seems ironic a monster that would hurt dogs could handle a few rats." Miki felt no sympathy for the man. Nature always had a way of biting back it seemed. The girl waved a hand over the man's unconscious body, resulting in wooden tendrils coming up from the dirt. Once they had breached the surface they would slowly wrap around the man until only his feet and head were showing. "I'll move him away so his body doesn't alert anyone that might be looking for him and so he doesn't come looking for us." She'd say, using her hands to continue moving the tendrils off to the side of the pathway and up into a tree. Miki wanted to be as proactive as she could so she could hopefully impress her new squadmates.
The girl approached the dog once again and rest her hand upon it's head, gently scratching behind its' ear. "We? Horseshoe?" Miki couldn't particularly make any sense of what those words meant to this village. The girl thought on the subject for a moment without having any lightbulb moments. "Weh... west... week... weather... weed... well... welcome... Miki rambled on, trying to think of as many words that started that way as possible. The words didn't really become any use to her as she rambled on. The two that seemed to make the most sense were west and well, but she couldn't really be sure. "Maybe we go west?"
"Mokuton," Kai observed aloud as he watched Miki use wooden tendrils to hide the unconscious man. His arms were crossed and he made a noise of approval. "That's pretty tight." He let his gaze fall on the shoe-stealing panda, wondering what it was that led Sumika to have a panda and some rats on her side. It felt like everything he tried to learn about her just gave him more questions.
"I don't know that he'd tell us to go to the west. Perhaps-" He cut himself off as the dog suddenly barked. He yapped at the unconscious thug viciously before he turned to Miki and whined. Before Kai could do anything, it was suddenly running back into the town. "He-hey!" He followed the dog as closely as possible; none of the villagers seemed to really care, few even raising their head to watch as Kai moved through the town. The two passed the bar Kai had mentioned earlier. He couldn't afford a glance over his shoulder to see if his team was following because the dog kept darting into small alleyways or underfoot of some pedestrian and it was easy to lose the mutt.
But then the dog was running right in a cavern, and Kai was quick to follow. The poorly-lit cave eventually placed a fork in the road in front of Kai. He skidded to a halt, watching as the dog when down the left tunnel. But the right tunnel had a red sound symbol, and he knew that had to have been the dog-fighting ring. He activated his sharingan in preparation for a fight, but he felt an ache in his temple and he deactivated his doujutsu. "What the hell is going on...?" He sobered a little as the different pieces of information melded poorly together; this wasn't a ninja-heavy village, so why was there any form of jamming going on?

"What the hell man?!" Sumika called to no avail as Kai took off after the dog. This seemed, frankly, like a horrible idea. They'd just come up with a plan that involved covertly gathering information, and then their squad leader ran off after a dog. While Sumika was certainly one for charging in, this seemed like a poor time to do such a thing, especially for a squad leader. Well, at least a Chunin abandoning their squad to chase a lead without properly gauging any of their capabilities was ammo for questioning why she was relegated to menial labor for not swooning over titles. She glanced in the direction of Miki and Himitsu before shrugging, fastening her headband back around her neck, and setting out after Cobalt, who had ambled off in the general direction of Kai and the dog - occasionally stopping to lick something on the ground.
Sumika had expected there was more to this, as she'd not sensed the hostile presence in this place beyond the man at the entrance that she'd expected. A fact confirmed by Kai's apparent headache and confusion as she drew up behind him a few moments later. Didn't take a genius to piece together the source of that given her own inability to sense anything. And thus they landed on her other source of displeasure with the Uchiha, and their Hyuga brethren to a slightly lesser extent. With their eyes they jumped without hesitation, without they fumbled. "First time someone's shut your fancy ooglers off?" She asked casually as Cobalt was rewarded with a bamboo shoot for his effort, a treat he accepted greedily.

"Oh yeah! My dad is a lumberjack!" Miki replied to Kai as though that was a sufficient explanation of her Mokuton ability. The girl was happy to get some sort of approval from their squad leader already. It meant to her that she was doing the proper thing although she hadn't really been a shinobi before. All she really had to go off of was the stories her mother and father told her as a kid. The stories they told her were her primary reason for wanting to be a shinobi. It all sounded amazing to her.
Miki's train of thought was suddenly interrupted when the dog at her side barked. The girl jumped slightly at the sound, her attention immediately turning in his direction. "What is it boy?" She called out after him, watching as Kai took off. What the hell was right. Miki returned glance and shrugged back taking off after the others. Miki wasn't nearly as fast as the others and it was rather obvious from the distance Sumika and Kai had gained on her. "H-hey! Wait up!" Miki called out as she ran through the village, having to dodge several of the villagers.
Finally they came to the entrance of a cavern. The others would have made it in a little earlier than she had made it. However, Miki made it just in time to see the activation and subsequent deactivation of Kai's sharingan. Envy struck Miki. The sharingan was just another way she wasn't exactly a true Uchiha yet as she hadn't even activated hers. At least that's what she told herself although her mother was absolutely sure she would unlock it one day. Miki hoped so given there were plenty of Uchiha that never activated their sharingan ever. "Someone can just deactivate a doujutsu like that?" Miki asked both Sumika and Kai, a slight amount of concern in her voice. The concern was about who they were exactly dealing with if they could prevent that sort of thing. Who ever they were, they had to be serious.
From his spot in the trees, Himitsu watched the man crumble almost immediately under the "pressure" of Sumika's rats. "What a baby... He didn't even get to the important part. We-? Well? West End? Weather Vane? Useless Jerk." He couldn't help but give an odd look at Cobalt whent he bear began stealing the man's shoes. "What kind of street gang s**t is- Oh." His faced dropped slightly. "Oh gods... I've been outsmarted by a panda." As his gaze shifted back to Miki, he was impressed by her Mokuton techniques. He'd never actually met an Uchiha that could use Wood Release, especially since he'd always been told it was unique to the Senju Clan. "I wonder if it'd be rude to ask about... Maybe I should ask Kai."
As Himitsu stood up to move back down to the group, he heard the dog begin barking. He quickly turned to the sound, preparing to draw. When he saw the animal was simply barking at the man, he relaxed, and put his bow over his shoulder. The boy hopped down from the branch and landed just as the dog made a B-line for the gate. Himitsu was prepared to let the dog away as it wanted, but wasn't surprised to see Kai take off after the creature. Sumika's shouting mimicked his own thoughts, which Himitsu wasn't sure he liked.
As the other two members of the team took off, he followed behind. Instead of darting through the streets, he decided to chance the rooftops. Most people didn't bother to look up, and his silent footsteps certainly wouldn't give them a reason to. While the others made their way through and around people and obstacle, he ran along rooftops, only occasionally disturbing a few birds and needing to contain coughs from bounding over active chimneys. Eventually he joined his team on the ground level as the neared a cavern. He waited outside for a moment before entering, in case anyone was waiting for them specifically. When nothing seemed to happen, he carefully walked in, following the echoes of the dog and his squad.
When Himitsu caught up to them, he just barely caught Sumika's question. "Did Kai get blinded by something...?" As he began to open his mouth to ask, Miki asked her question. "Oh... His Sharingan...? I didn't realize that could happen... Good to know... I guess..." In the brief silence, he heard the the echoes of the dog's nails getting quieter down the left path. He then noticed the red symbol above the right path. At least the dog was helpful. "Well, looks like we found what we were after." Suddenly very aware of his weapon's uselessness in a cave, he took a second to reseal his bow, then his quiver. "Unless someone else has a way to predict what's down that left path, I suggest we head down the right one here. We know we're either going to find a dog fighting event, or a hideout. We've got no idea where the left leads right now. I guess a third option would be going back out and monitoring the entrance. See if we can't find somebody else with more to say. But that will take time."

And then he was down the metaphorical rabbit hole, spelunking down the cavern path after the dog. The path got worringly small, but Kai thankfully fit through. The path sharply went straight down, forcing him to brace himself with his hands before he decided to just fall down through the opening and hope for the best. Thankfully, he landed into a wide clearing, well-lit with many more of the enchanted, glowing seals than the rest of the cave had been fitted with. He stared at the dog and the dog stared at him, and then it was suddenly transforming into some kind of dog-man. It looked feral, excuding malice as it growled and foamed at the mouth. "Kemono Shinzo," Kai breathed out, tone landing somewhere around awe.
He put a hand to his temple, wishing he had his sharingan because the opponent was destined to be strong and fast, but he'd have to make due. He retrieved his windmill shuriken, dripping his custom poison on the stacked blades before a flick his wrist separated them, balancing the weapon before he tossed it directly at the beast man [ Fiercest Blades / Big Toss ]. The dog-man caught the blade with a paw, visibly unreactive to the way it cut into the meat of his hand [ Primal Reversion ]. The beast man nearly body-flickered with the speed he moved at, appearing in front of Kai and slamming him with a paw, throwing the chuunin into the cave wall, who then crumpled to the ground [ Pressure Palm ]. He didn't hesitate, bloodlust bringing him to charge right for Sumika. He swept a hard leg at hers, trying to throw her into the cavern walls [ Leaf Violent Wind ].

The right path would curve and wind down, but it would always be large enough to walk up-right in. Some segments of the path even had a rough attempt at stairs, with rocks placed or molded in the dirt to facilitate safer walking. The walls of the cave were adorned with some enchanted seals that glowed bright enough to serve like a torch-light.
Eventually, however, the two ninja could hear rowdiness. If they followed, they'd see two dozen guys standing around, forming an informal circle that gave a lot of room for the dog fight, with the men nearly at the wall of the cave. There'd be two dogs in the center, one looking like a shiba inu and another looking like some kind of husky. Neither were common breeds in a working town. However, there was definitely notable sensory prowess of someone or something, because both of the dogs stopped mid-fight to whine at a high-pitch. All the heads in the room turned to the entrance, spotting two ninja that did not belong. "What the hell?" And then they each started pulling out weapons, forgoing any sense as many of them charged at the two Leaf ninja immediately.

The user's taijutsu strikes while this technique is active treat all defenses as if they were 1 rank lower and treat simple taijutsu they use as if they were complex in collisions. The user may only remain in this state for 5 posts before they are forced out of it in which case all pain and status effect they would have experienced begin to affect them all at once. They can not return to this state for another 3 posts.
▰ Pressure Palm | Rank S+ | Simple This is a Taijutsu technique where the ninja drives their fist or open palm downward. The user strikes the target, gaining a [1] point increase in strength for the attack per rank. If the user is on the ground or already beneath the user the user gains an additional [1] point increase per rank.
At Sumika: ▰ Leaf Violent Wind | Rank S+ | Simple The user performs a sweeping kick at the target's legs. This action not only brings them horizontally off the ground but sends them flying five feet per rank of the technique. Should the opponent crash into any solid object during their flight, their bodies suffer a [1] point decrease in endurance the remainder of the fight for each rank of the technique.

Kai had a fair point about the sensory ninja. If they were strong enough to prevent Kai from using his sharingan then surely they were strong enough to already have noticed they were there. Maybe they had known before they even entered the town. "Got it." Miki nodded at Kai's directions before heading down the right path as directed to stop the dog fighting ring. In truth, Miki preferred this assignment over trying to figure out what was down the other path. For some reason this path felt naturally like the path she needed to go down. "I'll watch your back if you watch mine, Himitsu!" Called out after her teammate as she descended down the path, the roar of the crowd soon becoming distinctly more and more obvious the further she went down the path.
The girl rounded the corner without looking. A rookie mistake. This mistake left her in the middle of the larger opening to the cave the ring was in. "What is that?" Miki asked herself as she covered her ears to suppress the high pitched noise. The men all seemed to turn and stare at once. The girl gripped the hilt of her katana once it was very apparent that the jig was up, her other hand coming down from her ear and resting at her side. "I think we're the ones that should be asking what the hell. We heard there were some scum that liked to mess with animals." Miki's voice held despise for the people who called themselves men yet took advantage of innocent creatures.
Miki didn't hesitate after she had finished speaking. The girl immediately dropped to her knees and forced her hands into the dirt. "Himitsu on your left." Miki called to her teammate as the roots surrounding the cave rapidly grew in the middle of the group of 24. They would would grow into a dome, forcing 12 of the men to be separated and isolated in their own half of the room while Miki and Himitsu would be left with the other 12. "That should buy us some time."[ Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall [ Mokuton: Mokujōheki ] A Rank ] Miki pulled her hands free of the dirt, her right hand immediately going to her katana. Once her hand reached her katana, she'd unsheathe it, holding it horizontally in front of herself. In one fluid motion she would swing the sword around her head before bringing it down directly in front of her. Chakra pulsated from her blade, pulling all of the loose rocks and dirt from her wood technique together. They would however slightly before Miki brought her blade down. At that moment the debris propelled themselves toward the group of 12. [ Pebble Barrage [ Tamaishi Danmaku ] A rank ] The girl then bent at her knees, putting herself in a stance to defend herself as she began to close in on the men. [ Deflecting Stance A rank ]
● Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall [ Mokuton: Mokujōheki ] | Rank A An extremely versatile move, this technique uses chakra to activate the roots in the ground and, using the user of the technique as a reference point, makes wooden pillars appear from left and right. Perhaps it was experience or the fact that her sensory abilities weren't tied to her eyes, but Sumika's bout of vertigo was more unpleasant than it was severe, thankfully. "Stay with these lot and make sure nothing eats them." Sumika said as she gave Cobalt's ears a good scratch. She suspected Kai wasn't actually much weaker than her in combat terms, so there was little point bringing Cobalt along with them when a portion of Sumika's skill could be split across both groups.
This instinct was further rewarded when Kai and Sumika's path shrunk down to her size, with the larger boy having noted difficulty slipping through spaces Cobalt wouldn't have even thought about. She followed the Chunin with little in the way of hesitation, confident in her iron sand to keep her safe and all but unimpeded by the narrow spaces. The danger they found, however, was not what she expected, nor was the outcome of their first interaction with it. Kai was out of commission almost before she could blink, and only the summoning of more sand from the environment allowed her to get on top of their assailant's advance. This was about as bad a matchup as she could draw. No sage senses to protect her back, no room for her puppets and no time to deploy them, a potentially unconscious squad member. Moreover it was clear that if she'd been leading the way she could have easily been the one who just got turned into a chew toy. Her Iron Sand Coffin would be capable of stopping the incoming kick, coalescing at the behest of her right hand, but she needed a response that would slow the attacker down further.
Guess it was time to try out the new moves. Or at least one set of them. Her left hand swept out as her sand countered the kick, seeming to throw a wave of freezing chakra over the side of the cave the man had attacked from. She wasn’t terribly high on the idea of dealing with the excessive speed the beastman had just shown, and Cone of Cold would achieve that. It was unlikely that the sand coffin would hold long enough for her to actually use it, but at least it could buy her time for this. Speaking of which, more time buying would come in the form of a set of chains as they burst forth from the wall behind - Sumika’s left hand now mimicking the right as it manipulated the new technique.
With any luck she’d at least ice him up and slow him down, though if the crumpled Uchiha was any indication, that likely wouldn’t last long. It didn’t need to though, it only needed to get her to the point that she could do what she did best without getting immediately hammered in the face. Zagging was fun, but while Sumika enjoyed playing the fool, it was relatively pointless with her audience in a heap at the base of the far wall and an enemy about to pummel her.

Back up in the cave the big bear sat waiting, staring with a notably furrowed brow at Miki and Himitsu as he waited for them to lead the way. As they headed down the tunnel so did the massive Panda, although it seemed like the pair largely had this under control. Still, Sumika had told him to help and so he did, an enthusiastic roar launching a gout of lightning at one of the assailants. With luck they'd all group together and get zapped in turn. If not, well, Cobalt was still a giant bear at the end of the day.[ Chain Lightning | Rank A ]
Iron Sand Coffin [ Satetsu Kyuu ] | Rank X The user will force iron sand to crawl up on their target. The sand will then wrap up and around, until it fully encases the target. As the sand encloses, it will apply a crushing amount of pressure [see Iron Sand Funeral], more than capable of grinding bones. If the wielder takes two posts to set up the technique for one combat action each then the iron sand can encase the whole body and deal an equivalent tier of full-body paralysis based on the rank applied for five posts. The other method is the faster but less effective option of using one post to grip only a single limb and apply paralysis of equivalent tier to the rank of the coffin. The Iron Sand Coffin is also considered a chakra-based grapple rather than the standard stamina-based grapple and thus requires an equivalent rank of chakra to be spent by the target once gripped or encased to break out.

Himitsu listened as Kai expressed his thoughts and gave out directions. He nodded his acknowledgement, then followed behind Miki while masking the sound of his movements. As the sounds of the crowd grew, he heard Miki's voice echo out from in front of him. "You got it." The younger Uchiha responded, then begin to prep himself for whatever came next. The group rapidly approached on what one would assume to be the last corner to the arena. Himitsu began to slow slightly, but quickly recalculated as Miki sprinted clear into the room without a cursory glance. Assuming she was just that confident, Himitsu followed suit and stepped into the room alongside his teammate. Despite how his teammate might have been feeling, seeing the crowd did not make the boy feel confident. The adrenaline kicked in a moment later however, and feelings didn't matter anymore. His vision narrowed slightly as it darted over the weapons of the numerous enemies that filled the room. For a moment he searched for anybody that might look important, but quickly shifted his mind to the actual fight. "It's a cave. No ventilation, so no fire-style. We'll choke on the smoke. No space or time for the bow. So, just wind-style, taijutsu, and small weapons. Where's the panda...? Whatever. They're close together, so maybe I sca-"
Miki's call out pulled his body into the action his mind had already started in on. Himitsu lunged to the side and drew a shuriken from his pouch, picking a target as he moved. Using the rapidly expanding roots as a distraction, he stopped and flattened the weapon between his hands, and began to mold wind chakra around it. Once again he capitalized on his teammate's attack and launched the wind-infused throwing weapon into the immediate aftermath of Miki's Pebble Barrage. "I suggest you goons stay down."
As the shuriken hit the ground, it erupted with a forceful gust of wind, unleashing the [Wind Explosion [ Kaze ] | Rank D] Himitsu had cast on it. As dust filled the room, the boy formed a few handsigns, and created a [Wind Clone [ Kaze Bunshin ] | Rank E], taking the time to seal another [Wind Explosion [ Kaze ] | Rank D] technique within it. As Miki prepared to move forward, the clone moved perpendicularly away from her and the team, with the real Himitsu following behind Miki. For now, his plan was to play crowd control and use the hard cavern walls to his advantage with his wind-style.

The beast snarled as the ice covered its fur, but it was still too feral to be susceptible to the detractors. His skin and fur was already becoming more orange in tint from the Blight poison. The chains came over his body and the beast roared before biting at the chain with his teeth, tearing it off of him. It took a few moments to get free, but then the beast was moving at Sumika again, berserk. It made the same moves as before, striking at her first with an open claw [ Pressure Palm | S+ | Complex] and then a sweeping kick [ Leaf Violent Wind | S+ | Complex ].
A wet cough sounded from the floor where Kai was still crumpled up. Slowly, movement occurred, where he put himself on his side. His hands were glowing green, and he pushed it to his sternum, healing his punctured lungs as his other hand pushed his collarbone back into place [ Healing Hands Technique: Major [ Chiyute No Jutsu: Ichidanto ] | Rank A x2 ]. He coughed up blood as he rolled over onto his chest, bracing his palms on the ground and mouthing something before he began to painfully pull himself up to his knees. "S-Sumika, can you use those chains again?" { Teaching Career - donates an activation }. He huffed a few breaths, trying to prepare himself for his next move.

The goons were split in half with the wooden wall. The trapped ones immediately began banging against the wall with whatever they had in their pockets. Meanwhile, the ones left in the room with a clear shot to the entrance were enraged. A few were taken down the pebble barrage, falling over and verbally complaining. One had pulled a crossbow on Miki from the back of the room, but his aim was displaced by the wind kicked up by Himitsu's techniques.
"Stupid ******** brats," another one said, only to be shocked with a bolt of lightning from a panda. "Getcha act togetha, fellas!" He threw a ball of explosive tags at the entrance where Miki was [ Explosive Tags | A ]. Another goon threw a kunai at the clone [ Basic Combat | C ]. A second whipped out a kusarigama and started working at the wooden wall, breaking it slowly with his chakra-infused blades; in short time, he'd be able to free out the other goons. A third charged forward with a staff, bringing it down at the panda's head [ Basic Combat | S ]. Meanwhile, the two dogs that had been fighting turned to look at each other, yipping and barking as if in conversation at the back of the room.

"Keep it up Himitsu and Cobalt!" Miki yelled out to her teammates encouragingly as she continued to close in on the group of men, not noticing the bowman who was luckily dissuaded from attacking her by a gust of wind. "Hey! Watch who you're calling brats you punks!" Miki responded to the one man before using her blade to deflect the explosive tag back toward the group of men, her blade being a shade of violet for the short time it took her to deflect the ball. [ Whirlpool Walking - A rank ]"You're gonna bring the whole place down on top of us! Hmph." Once the girl felt she was close enough, wings began to grow on Miki's back. In the same moment she would throw her sword directly at the man who had thrown the explosive tags at her, a wooden one growing in her left hand shortly after.
When the blade appeared to almost strike the man, Miki would suddenly disappear from her spot and directly behind the man. At her appearance, she would immediately began to slash at all of his limbs to prevent them from operating further. [ Wood Release: Fluttering Wood Swallow S+ Rank complex + Silent Breeze A rank Simple + Severing Nerve A rank Simple ] The girl huffed for a moment as she immediately felt much more tired after expending so much energy on one guy. Miki had certainly found herself in the thick of it. She was practically surrounded once her wall had been broken. Miki brought her sword up into the sky, forming a handseal with her right hand at the same time. The girl then swung her sword downward to her left. Although the wooden sword is a blunt weapon, if this attack collides into the opponent, then the opponent suffers fifty points of tenketsu rot. ● Silent Breeze [ Soyokaze ] | Rank B | Simple The user hurls a blade directly at their target, using this as a diversionary tactic. Just as the blade would reach the target, the user vanishes using a shushin type movement. In tandem, the user slashes with the remaining blade from the target's blind spot using another bukijutsu technique or basic combat attack as a supplementary aciton. Using this technique consumes a use of the RPC body flicker count for a fight. ● Severing Nerve | Rank B | Complex The user imbues their blade with chakra, slashing what seems wildly at the opponent's limbs while aiming for nerve clusters. If undefended, the user's cut on desired limbs cause the limb to become useless for the next three posts. Once the limb is usable again, they suffer a [2] point reduction to agility with that limb until the end of combat or until treated by a medical ninja.

After it's single strike, this attack simply fades away. The body part can also be launched in straight lines at a target, and continues forth until it collides with something. Aesthetic changes, like making it a sword swing, or a hammer blow, are possible, but do not alter the damage done.

Sumika was, quite honestly, surprised that Kai’s rib cage wasn’t jello at this point. So surprised, that aside from gathering her sand back into a unified source, she focused far more on the astonishingly conscious Uchiha. “Oh, look who’s awake. Our brave squad leader! You got a bigger stick to play fetch with or are we just gonna let kibble for brains use us as chew toys while I waste chakra on stuff that’s already failed once?!” She raved, seemingly unaware of the beast continuing its assault. “I swear if I get merc’d by a rabid mutt running around in a hole with a bunch of kids I’ll-” The kick connected mid sentence, and while the pile of sand seemed to shift reflexively with Sumika’s surprise, the result was still the woman spiraling towards Kai, sliding to a stop face down just short of the injured Chunin. Or so it would seem.
A moment’s silence was broken by more of the ice chains bursting from the same source as before as the pile of sand shifted ever so slightly. However, this time as they found their target a razor sharp series of spikes sprouted as Sumiki’s hands burst from the pile to form a seal, employing the crystalizing nature of her shoton chakra to make the restraints even more formidable. “I’ll haunt you so I can kick your a** myself.” She said, finishing her previous thought between bouts of spitting iron sand out. Next to Kai, Sumiko disappeared into its own cloak for a moment, appearing to mimic Sumika in reverse, before standing straight up out of the shifting iron sands again. “Missed, b***h.” The puppeteer taunted as behind her, the jaw of the near perfect copy of herself hinged open to reveal a speaker, which perfectly reproduced the woman’s line again before they both flashed a pair of middle fingers at the beast man.
While Sumika had fun playing the idiot, she wasn’t sure it would be possible to keep this up over a long period of time. She was clever enough to fool most of her opponents, but there was a reason beyond her past experiences that she didn’t like being around people like the Uchiha. Kai might have reinforced her perception that they faltered without their eyes by getting walloped while lamenting the absence of his fancy jutsu, but they also tended to ruin all the fun by seeing through her clownish deceptions. She suspected the case would be the same here. After a couple attempts to rush her down without success, she suspected the animal nature of this creature would take over. More importantly, without her sensory even sage mode wouldn’t keep her on the same level as her opponent. For now, Sumiko settled into a defensive stance in front of Kai as Sumika slowly shifted into a position that would allow her to bait the beast away if the Chunin’s plan failed.
[ Cobalt ]
For the most part, Cobalt would have been satisfied playing the helper. Unfortunately, at least for the man charging him, this was not to be the case. If Sumika had been there she would have found it quite amusing to watch a man with a stick charge a quarter ton bear. Cobalt made no attempt to enter the majority of the fighting for the time being. His attacker however, would find their bravado rewarded with a Chidori. From a bear. The crackling lightning chakra more than capable of passing right through his stupid stick and anything else behind it. Even if the raiton chakra wasn’t involved, it was still a dinner plate sized paw striking back.

Aesthetically, the crystal appears to burst after a short string of seals is made, and anywhere from ten to a hundred can be flung off depending on cost. Crystal for these skills comes from the total mass of the crystal itself, meaning a C rank technique can only turn into a C ranked attack. This also weakens the original technique by an equal amount of chakra that went into the attack, rendering it inert as a defense if completely drained. The Himitsu Wind Clone continued his sideways path until he spotted the enemy's kunai. With a slight smirk he launched himself into it, trying to get as close to any combatants nearby as possible. He grimaced slightly the instant kunai pierced his skin, then exploded into a gust of air as the [Kaze | Rank D] planted within triggered. From a distance, the real Himitsu kept his smirk as he followed behind Miki. Her words of encouragement helped boost his confidence a bit more, and he began to think of his next moves.
In the meantime, he had already caught sight of the incoming explosive tag too late. His hand had just brushed the top of his senbon pouch when he saw Miki not just stop the tag, but actually deflect it with apparent ease. "I need her to teach me how to do stuff like that..." When the woman sprouted wings and started throwing swords however, he started to question that thought. "On second thought, I like my feet on the ground." Himitsu lost sight of her for a moment, but began moving toward her when he found her again, trying to stay within support range. Although after Miki's phantom chakra arm move, he wasn't sure she even needed the support.
Regardless, he pushed forward until he noticed another small group bunching up in order to coordinate their attack. Himitsu took the chance to line up another sweeping attack, and pulled two shuriken from his pouch. He began molding chakra around them before throwing them together, a [Slashing Wind Skill [ Kamaitachi no Jutsu ] | Rank D] forming around them as the swung around one another toward the group. Once again he attempted to use the dust to hide his actions from at least a few people, and made another clone, this time choosing a [Lightning Clone [ Raikou Bunshin no Jutsu ] | Rank E] and sending him off toward the other half of the enemies clambering through Miki's wall. The real Himitsu then closed as much of the remaining gap between him and Miki as possible, giving Cobalt a wide breadth as it blasted a man with a Raiton technique strong enough to probably have blown Himitsu's arm off if he'd even attempted it. When he was close enough to his squad mate, he started to share his plan. "Think you can trap a few again like before, but leave a small gap for me? I want to roast them."

▰ Slashing Wind Skill [ Kamaitachi no Jutsu ] | Rank D Using Chakra and a weapon, the user creates a tornado that surrounds and slashes at objects, capable of cutting tree branches and items of similar durability. Like a real tornado, the wind expands as it goes farther and hits larger targets. The tornado travels thirty feet a post and grows in size at a rate of five feet in with starting at ten. Techniques launched at the wind or are within it’s pulling range and are its rank or lower are automatically korabo’d into the jutsu and added to its strength.
▰ Lightning Clone [ Raikou Bunshin no Jutsu ] | Rank E Forming the required hand signs, the user forms a clone of themselves composed of lightning chakra. This clone remains active up to three posts and is destroyed by technique of it's rank and potency or higher. Upon destruction, the clone releases a bolt of lighting that targets the person who destroyed it, reaching ten feet maximally. This causes tier one paralysis on the point of contact's limb.
