"Actually I have been told to take a step back. I was getting so engrossed in the business it was becoming harmful. That is how I came to be here, in Soleil." he explained when he heard Cassie’s words. She made him sound a lot more impressive than Damen saw himself. He just felt like an average man, and a very lucky one at that with Mark accepting him for what he was. Soon enough Tyler stepped in though and the man watched them as they went off at each other again. Damen smiled a bit as he watched. This really was unlike what he had ever experienced. Was this what it was like to have several siblings? Being an only child this was the first time he saw this all. When he went to make tea they were still at it, but when he returned they seemed to have calmed down sufficiently. When Cassie spoke directly to him he shook his head. "It’s no problem. I hope you enjoy the tea." he said with a smile. It would seem though that soon after they were at it again, they really changed fast didn’t they? When Mark stopped it by telling them to knock it off though, Damen couldn’t help but feel proud of his beloved.
They stood up against their parents now too. The demon was glad to see that Mark was feeling more confident. After that it was time to drink some tea though. Damen poured himself a cup of tea as well and sat back down. It was nice to drink tea, albeit a bit strange with so many people here yet it being so quiet. It didn’t last for long though as soon Cassie spoke up again. Damen nearly choked on his tea when she spoke before he stared at her a bit. He was just, very surprised. Not that it would change anything, Damen was Mark’s and nothing would change that, unless Mark himself had enough of him. He remained quiet though and looked at Mark, as he stood back and let him answer that question. It was asked to Mark after all and this really was more a sibling moment. Damen was quite content just watching from the sidelines this time. Though Cassie had caught him off-guard. How often did you hear someone call you a ‘drop dead hottie’? Well Aldon had said something along those lines one day. How Damen reminded him of the gorgeous elves back home. But never that straight in the face and clear. Curious person, Cassie. But in a good way.

It was about mid afternoon when Mark looked at the weather channel, sixty degree's outside and quite chilly. They then mentioned how beach weather was over and how everyone would need to pack in their summer gear which made Mark smile brightly, fall was bar none his favorite season. It made wearing long sleeved shirts and jackets so much more bearable and he didn't stick out as much in the coastal town when everyone else dressed so lightly. Mark would put his phone down and glanced over at his boyfriend Damen and smiled a bit"Hey um..Damen"he started"Since it's cooled down and the beach is much more vacant I was wondering...uh...would you like to just go down and walk on the beach? I haven't been down there since...well...I can't even remember"had Mark ever even gone down to the beach in the first place? He couldn't quite recall honestly, the now twenty year old had no reason to go to the beach since he couldn't exactly go swimming, not with how his body was. Now though slowly but surely Mark was beginning to feel more and more at ease with himself as Damen complimented him and made him feel...feel handsome. Damen made Mark feel attractive and even more so made the younger man feel less self conscious about the scars covering his arms and inner thighs. Their relationship had still been very slow and even more so Damen was patient, letting Mark set the pace for how fast things went which made him feel even better. The other man truly cared about him, he showed that time and time again as he was there for Mark anytime he had a bad day or depressive episode. He was calm and patient, something that he still sometimes felt like he didn't deserve, though Damen had always made sure to dismiss the notion. Admittingly enough though spending time with his siblings when they visited had made the younger man realize that he was a touch clingy to people, it wasn't a bad thing per say, he just needed to work on being more independent. The other day Mark had gone back to his house for a day or two just so he could be on his own and see how he fared. It was difficult for him to do it as he had become accustomed to Damen's presence but he pulled though and it was an eye opening experience. Before it had been his big brother Tyler whom he had clung to every waking moment but when he moved out he had nobody and Mark was alone, that was when he went into a downward spiral. But now he had Damen and Mark now knew that he shouldn't allow himself to so dependent on other people. Right now though Mark had simply spend time with his boyfriend now that he was back in the others house and this seemed like the perfect opritunity to do something he hadn't before.

Today was a calm day. A nice one to just enjoy each other’s company. Damen loved having Mark around him, his love for them ran deeper than he had ever felt before. It had often felt like they already had moved in to live together with how often the other was at his place. After the sibling visit they had gone back to their own home and Damen had really missed having them around. Of course he had already offered to live together a while ago and that offer still stood, but it was up to Mark to accept it when and if he felt ready to do so. The demon had been enjoying the calm time with his boyfriend, his arm around Mark, but he didn’t dislike their idea. It would be nice to get some fresh air, for Mark too. They did intend to spend days on end inside.
Not that Damen minded, nor would make them go out more, but he did worry about their health. So he was surprised when they asked about the beach. "I think that is a splendid idea. The beach will be nice to enjoy some breeze and fresh air." he replied and smiled. He would actually like that too. It had been a bit since he went there to enjoy the breeze, though he had no issues swimming himself whatsoever. It was a bit cold to go swimming now though, unless he went to a pool. But he rarely went out without Mark, though it did happen from time to time. Unlike his beloved Mark, he was a social person and not used to sitting home all day. But it worked out for them both one way or another.
"I say, let’s go." he said and kissed Mark on his cheek before he got up from the couch. He had already gotten ready for the day, as was his won’t, since you never know when it may happen you have to go out. Like sudden groceries or other things you suddenly had to get or the urge to go outside, like now. Damen smiled and offered his hand to Mark. Whether they took it to get up that way or not, once Mark was up, the demon would walk to the door to put on his shoes and if needed he would wait for the other to get ready before he would put on his jacket and make sure he had his keys with him. Of course it wasn’t a disaster if he forgot, as long as Mark had his with him. Since they spend so much time in Damen’s place, he had given his boyfriend the key to the Doux residence as well.

Mark honestly was considering just fully moving in with Damen but for right now at the time he got a certain sense of satisfaction knowing his parents were still spending a pretty penny on the rent of his old home, small as it was. Now that he had made his suggestion to Damen, he smiled as his boyfriend agreed with him as a nice stroll would do good for both of them. Honestly Mark was glad that he and Damen were so different in regards to their social lives, Mark was introverted and didn't care too much for social interaction and going out to meet with people. Damen on the other hand was much more social and enjoyed the presence of people which worked out perfectly for them since Mark would happily just stay home and have his alone time while Damen went out and socialized. It gave them both their time away from each other and fulfilled both their needs in the socially. Mark would get up and slip into a pair of shoes before then sliding into a soft, warm, and dark blue jacket. Once ready Mark made sure he had everything he needed on him before smiling at Damen, meeting him at the door. Mark didn't often feel the need to go outside, he generally was more of an indoor person but there were occasions that Mark just wanted some fresh air as well. Rare as it was and this was one of those times. Once outside Mark would take Damen's hand, this time taking the initiative in a public display of affection, a clear sign to Damen how much more confident Mark was becoming. Even his stuttering issue seemed to ebb away unless something stressed Mark out, then it would rear it's ugly head once more.

Mark was laying down on the bed with his Nintendo Switch in hand playing a simple little game to pass the time. Damen had said that he wanted to surprise Mark with something this evening so he complied and scurried off to the bedroom while Damen did his thing. Mark was genuinely curious what his boyfriend had in mind for this evening but he supposed that he'll find out eventually. Mark would then let a soft smile grow on his face as he stopped moving in the game for a moment, glad to feel so special and wanted by someone like Damen who was just perfect in Mark's eyes. There wasn't a single thing wrong with him, at least not to him. The man made him feel special, made him feel...attractive even. More and more Mark would look in the mirror after a shower and would notice more of his positive features than the multitude of scars littering his body. His cute hairstyle he maintained, his steel grey eyes that seem to twinkle more and more, even his face seemed to look better to him as time went on. Mark would extend one arm and stared at the scars covering it, before meeting Damen, Mark would feel shame and disgust looking at them. But now he just felt...nothing. He had no opinion on them, he wasn't happy about them but he wasn't beating himself up over them either. It was a huge step for him from almost a few months ago.

Damen was working on the living room as Mark had retreated. There was an almost constant smile on his lips as he thought about their time together. It had only been two months but still, the demon wanted to do something special for his boyfriend and their anniversary. It was a day later than the official date but that was because he had been unable to reserve a table the evening before. It had been a busy day for the restaurant. It didn’t make it any less fun however. After some hours Damen was done and he looked at the living room from a slight difference. There were heart shaped garlands and a few balloons. Damen didn’t want to go over the top since Mark seemed to prefer it a bit low key. The demon nodded approvingly of how it looked and he walked to the fridge, took out the two slices of pie he got for them both, placed them on the table next to the drinks and then smiled happily before walking to the bedroom door. Once near it he knocked three times, not sure what Mark might be doing so he wouldn’t just walk in.
"It’s done Mark. Feel free to come out whenever you are ready." he spoke, the joy clear in his voice before he walked back into the living area some more again.
It sounded so bad really. As if Mark hadn’t been allowed to come out or something, but thankfully they both knew better. The young man waited patiently for his boyfriend to come out and stood near the door. He hadn’t told them anything about the dinner at the Asian restaurant yet, but they would see for themselves once they got there. Damen was happy to be celebrating their lives together. To him Mark was everything. He was the center of his life, even more so than his company. Of course Aldin was all too happy about this, finally the man was taking a step back and allowing himself to rest. And whenever he came by he would always bring some elven thing or another for Mark, much as he did for Damen. Food, drinks, items, even a few music instruments had been brought by. The demon had turned out to be quite the musician on the elven ocarina.

Mark had just finished a level in his game when he heard Damen knock on the door, letting him know that he was able to come out and see whatever it was that Damen was working on"Alright, coming!"turning off the game he'd leave it on the nightstand and quickly left the bedroom and was met with some cute decorations, garlands and balloons and the like. It was all simply done and Mark could feel his cheeks burning brightly as he felt his heart beat quicken in his chest"W..What is all this D..Damen?"he would turn to his boyfriend with an embarrassed smile on his face. This was unexpected, at first Mark had thought Damen had just wanted some time cleaning or something. But right now he was feeling those butterflies in his stomach all over again as he rubbed the back of his neck out of reflex.

He had done his best to keep it low key as he knew that was a preference, but it was still quite a collection. The demon had smiled when he heard Mark’s voice and movement in the room nearby. Not long after that the door opened and the young man walked out. It looked like they noticed immediately. Their reaction was priceless and it made Damen feel happy and warm inside. He was glad that Mark liked what he saw. The man chuckled hearing their reaction and walked closer to them. Once near them he tilted his head up a bit since Mark was a bit taller than he was and smiled. "I know it is a day later than the actual date but...happy 2 month anniversary my beloved Mark." he said to them gently and leaned in a bit to give them a soft kiss on their lips. Though he never did anything too invading, respecting the young man’s boundaries.
"I’ve also booked us a table at ‘Make it Tso’ for this evening. That is why I’m a day late, they had no room anymore yesterday." Damen explained and smiled. Make it Tso was quite fancy and pretty, yet it wasn’t super expensive. The demon picked it with intent, because he knew Mark wasn’t too fond of the high fancy restaurants where it was really expensive. At Make it Tso they could both enjoy their dinner to the fullest. The man chuckled a bit when they returned to an old habit. It was endearing. The love he felt whenever he looked at Mark was really strong and he was happy to please Mark. Of course they always did things they both enjoyed, but the time spent with Mark was truly precious to him. "They will have a table waiting for us around 6pm." he informed the other and smiled.

Mark could practically feel his cheeks burn when his boyfriend was celebrating their two month anniversary. He hadn't even realized it had already been two months since they started seeing each other, how time flew it seemed. Mark would gently put his hands on the slightly shorter man's hips and leaned his head down just slightly to kiss the other tenderly. A shy smile grew across his face as Mark listened to how Damen had gotten them a reservation at 'Make it Tso' which caused Mark to feel both giddy and embarrassed"Damen....y..you didn't have to do that'"he stated with a small smile on his face. He was still a bit bad when it came to receiving even the smallest of gifts, even ones as simple as being treated to a nice restaurant. Once hearing the time of their reservation Mark glanced at the clock and then back to Damen"Well we have..um...we have an hour until the uh....the reservation so....would you like to...cuddle a bit on the couch?"he inquired with his cheeks turning red once more, feeling the butterflies in his tummy all over again.

The decorations were received well. Damen was glad for that. And Mark just looked absolutely adorable when they blushed like that. The demon smiled when Mark leaned in and he kissed the young man back lovingly as he wrapped his arms around them. Damen treasured such moments with Mark, his best moments in his life now was definitely whenever he was together with his boyfriend. A light chuckle escaped the man when he heard Mark about Make it Tso and he smiled up at them. "I know I don’t have to hun, but I wanted to." he replied and gave them a wink. He loved going places with Mark, whether they were restaurants or just other places around Soleil, or even outside Soleil. He had expected they might react this way though, so it wasn’t unexpected.
The demon’s hope was that he would someday get used to that at least as Damen was definitely the type that spoiled their beloved. Be it with gifts, going out or his attention. Or all three at one evening. Damen nodded, still smiling gently when they asked if he wanted to cuddle and offered his hand to his beloved. "I would love to, we have enough time." he replied and if they would take his hand Damen would walk with them to the couch and sit down with them. "You’ve truly made me a happy man Mark, from the moment we met. It’s true we had a few lesser moments." Damen started while staying close with the young man. He well remembered the time he had felt torn between his love for Mark, wanting to be with him and the fear for their safety. "But I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else." he added and smiled. He spoke genuine, his love for Mark was stronger than any he had felt before.

Mark slowly woke up, blinking away the sleep from his eyes. His whole body was like jelly and completely relaxed as he looked down from his sleeping position to see his arms wrapped around Damen. A soft smile gre on his face as he rested his head back down on the pillows as he gave Damen a gentle squeeze. Memories of last night flooded back into his mind as he felt his cheeks flush. It was the first time he'd ever bared himself to anyone and Mark would slowly look down at his shirtless torso and stared at each and every self inflicted scar. Last night Damen made Mark feel like the most beautiful person in the world despite how marred his body looked. Slowly Mark was realizing how good of an influence Damen was on Mark, before meeting Damen the young man would have not ever dared to show even an arm to anyone let alone...."Mmmmm!"he groaned to himself, unable to complete the thought at that moment as his face burned a brighter red. Finally Mark just closed his eyes once more and just remained resting. Damen could always do with some more rest and he wasn't about to disturb him more than he already had.
Damen was sleeping soundly through the night and didn’t immediately wake up when Mark stirred. He had been rather tired after last night, but the day had been great. He woke up a bit later than his boyfriend had. He opened his eyes and yawned a bit. It didn’t take him long to register the feeling of his lover’s arms around him and he smiled before he turned around carefully. If Mark wasn’t awake yet then he didn’t want to wake them up with his movement. Whether Mark was awake or not, he smiled as he looked at them, before reaching out and gently caressing their cheek before resting his hand softly. Yesterday had been one big surprise he planned for his beloved Mark, but it so happened that the other had a surprise of their own for Damen as well. They had gone further than they ever had and the demon felt proud of Mark that they made that big step. Not just because of the intimacy of course, though he had really enjoyed it. It was good to see that they were flourishing and felt less hung up about their body. The thought brought an even happier smile to his lips as he lowered his head, staying close to Mark and enjoyed the warmth they shared together right now though he stayed awake.
