The past week had been pretty chill, you know, same old same old. He had work some days/nights, went out with Val a few times (or just stayed at her place), and of course spent the rest of the time with his baby girl. Sometime soon he would have to make sure the two met. Val was getting closer to him than any partner in a long while, and with their somewhat open relationship, it felt like he didn’t have to rush to introduce them, but on the other hand, he would never officially date someone unless he had Emi’s permission and approval, and he couldn’t get that without making sure the two would get along like the best of friends. Maybe later in the week, but for now he had a date with Val tonight and the rest of the time would be devoted to helping Emi make her Halloween costume. Yes, make, like you were supposed to do instead of spending tons of money to have someone else be creative for you. He wasn’t entirely sure what all he needed to do in order to get ready for the date, like, did he need to get dressed up? But it was just a drive-in showing a horror movie that they likely wouldn’t be paying much attention to. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to dress up a little he supposed. He wasn’t sure if she would notice, but he wasn’t wearing his normal colors (ok, the green was the only thing not normal), but they had been selected cause he thought they were his version of her colors. Dark green equals her grass green, dark fuchsia to match her bubblegum pink hair…yeah, not a direct translation, but it was the closest his wardrobe would allow. Anyways, he was looking kinda fine, which was good enough for him. The Thing might have been the better car overall for this event, but given how he figured the night would go, he just couldn’t do that in his daughter’s car, even if he had bought it for her. Nope, tonight was a Trabi night. Hopefully that wouldn’t be too much false nostalgia, especially so close to that day. He pulled up to her house, making sure the passenger side door was to the sidewalk, then walked on up to her front porch and knocked on the door. Man he hoped she had dressed up some too, just so he didn’t look out of place.

Wearing: Celestial Baby+ Hair + Make-up «» Company: Isa «» Location: My Witch’s Lair «» Money: $100 «» Relationship Status: “Openly” Dating Isa Schreck
This previous week was almost like clockwork for Vasilisa. A session of yoga and a cup of tea in the morning, commissions and being locked in the studio in the afternoon, and the witchy traditions at night when the moon was the fullest and out in the night sky. Luckily for the pink-haired artist, the monotony was broken up with visits from her ‘teddy bear’ every one and a while. It was no doubt that Isa had a more demanding schedule than her between his bartending gig at Neon and raising his adopted daughter Emi. But the punk-rocker found the time to drop by. Mostly in the mid morning when work was becoming a pain in the a** and profanities were started to use he came for visit. He had impeccable timing like that or in reality, he may not be busy at those times. Still, it was amusing to have him around for a couple hours. They would cuddle on the couch and watch tv, or go to Moonbucks, or if they were in the mood that day...they did, you know, “couple stuff”. All of this was nothing too fancy.
This was the main reason why tonight was so different, or that’s what Esmee told her about while working her “magic” on some hair and makeup a hour ago for her movie date at the drive in. It was their first real date somewhere new and romantic. And Isa was the one who asked her out. The neo-hippie had her own opinions and this date didn’t feel like a big deal to her. She had talked about how she had heard that the drive-in had been hosting screenings of classic horror films all October long for Halloween one day, and he must’ve taken her statement as a que to ask if she wanted to. It was nothing remarkable, just Isa being attentive to her desires. Yet, her sister watch was knocking at her door three hour ago, with a large trunk of makeup, hair, and nails products in tow to ‘save’ her from a mistake of being normal and natural for this date. “Val darlin', you're going on a date. I love that you're all natural, it's endearing but you gotta show out for a date! So I'm here to do your hair and makeup! Now have a seat!"
The process took all about three hours to get done because Esmee really wanted everything to be aesthetically pleasing and mean something. But those long hours were behind her as she flipped through tv channels aimlessly (why were there so much reality TV?) until she heard the sound of a car pulling up in front of the house. Looking out from the window by the couch, she could see Isa’s little blue car parking. The neo-hippie got up, turned off the tv, and started to make her way to the front door, grabbing all the essential items she needed--credit card, ID, phone, keys and stuffing those in a little velvet blue purse that Esmee let her borrow. Then she made her way to the mirror that she kept beside the front door and took a final look at herself from head to toe. Well, Esmee achieved her goal at making her an aesthetic and she looked like the child of the moon and stars that Isa has always pegged her to be. The dress she wore was a night sky blue with glitter thrown onto the fabric like stars. It was coupled with a sheer shirt that she put underneath that looked like an old celestial painting. Her belt was made of matching suns, and her boots were sparkling and white . Her normal black set of gauges were replaced for ones to match the theme. Moving on to what Esmee did for her look for tonight, her sister witch had used a curling iron to create soft and bouncy ringlets within her bubble gum colored hair and then tie two knots on either side of her head, that according to Esmee, were called “Space Buns.” Esmee then made a shimmering and glam golden makeup look. It was not too simple, nor too overdone. And finally, Esmee decides at the last minute that they must do her nails to match her dress. She hope that it wasn’t too much for tonight
Isa’s knocks on the wooden door made her jump out of her skin slightly as Val remembered where she was or what she was doing. “Coming!” Her voice yelped as she fumbled with the door before finally being able to open it. How long had I been daydreaming for? The pinkette thought as she closed her eyes as she made her way outside and quickly pivot her body back to the door, locking it like she always did. You never wanted to have robbers, don’t you? When she finished securing her home from criminals the witch, at long last, turned around to see her handsome date standing right behind her. “You dressed up for tonight?” The words seemed to run off her tongue without effort at all as her eyes gazed at him up and down, head to toe. Most people wouldn’t have even noticed because Isa had often worn similar clothes to work in, but Val definitely noticed the change in color scheme in his choice of clothes from all dark colors to having pops of colors such as a mossy green and a dark pink. “And in my kind of favorite colors.” She blushed, not bringing herself to move from where she stood because she was too nervous for his reaction to her date outfit. Because she knew it was a lot...coming from her.

Watching her from the back (a perfectly respectable angle) her movements seemed a trifle awkward and rushed. Perhaps she was nervous? That was logical as first dates were typically awkward to a degree and yet incredibly important. For that matter, he should have been a lot more nervous than he was (as he wasn’t nervous at all), given he hadn’t been on a first date in over fifty years. Man he had been a lot different back then…nope, couldn’t let himself slip into revery like that, it never came to any good.”I did. Maybe things have changed, but back in my day you would always dress up for a first date. I see you dressed up as well. Good, now neither of us are overdressed. Nice theme, it is very you, Starburst dear. Oh, and you look extra beautiful tonight.” He may have said it in a deadpan, but they were compliments none the less, and he felt certain that she knew not to trust his tone but rather his words. Though he wasn’t about to voice it, he had a suspicion that Esmée had been involved in the preparations for this date. Not that Val couldn’t dress up, but she tended to go with all-natural hippie chic, and that was definitely not how he would describe what she was wearing. No, tonight there was a fair dash of glamor, poise, and, well, glitter. Not really the most Val-like style ever. It didn’t take much acting to flash a brief smile when she mentioned he was wearing her colors, or rather a cousin of them. ”I am glad you noticed, it would be such a waste if you hadn’t. And yes, they aren’t the exact right colors, but they are a shade that looks alright on me. A compromise I suppose.” Or was it? It wasn’t like she had requested he wear her colors whilst he didn’t want to because of aesthetics. Nope, it had been Emi’s idea and he would do anything she suggested. Seeing as she was hesitating to come forward, he took a couple steps towards her before delicately lifting her hand to his lips and giving it a sweet little kiss. ”If my lady is ready, her chariot awaits.” Not that he knew why she seemed nervous, and for the unlife of him he would never have guessed that she was worried about his opinion of her dressing up, but perhaps some gentle guidance would help her find her feet again so to speak. He had yet to let go of her hand since kissing it, so he kept the connection and escorted her to the car, opening the door for her then waiting for her to be perfectly situated before gently closing the door (didn’t anybody slam the door on his cute little Trabi.) He hoped she didn’t mind the ride, sure Trabants didn’t have the best of reputation, but the car meant quite a bit to him and damn if it wasn’t the most adorable vehicle in the whole city.

It was silly to think that she would be nervous for Isa to see her like this after him seeing her naked multiple times. However, her nerves didn’t seem to dissipate until she heard him tell her that she was beautiful, even with that apathetic voice of his and...that stupid nickname he gave her. “I heard that too about first dates as well. But I assumed that we weren't the ones to follow the rules.” the witch chuckled with a little bit of nerves, while her boyfriend stepped in closer to her. “I mean, you’re a punk and I am a hippie. We aren’t supposed to fit in. Don’t you remember how much we scare those girls the day we met?” she continued along with her nervous talking until she felt the punk-rocker gently lift her right hand and bring it to rest against his ice-cold lips. Gazing her baby blue eyes upward, she watched as he placed a soft kiss against her palm earning a rare blush from the neo-hippie and a tiny peck on the lips. “I really do love the effort.” It was the truth. Val really loved that despite her lack of expectations for this date because she didn’t really want to build unrealistic goals for them, Isa was actively trying to be romantic with this date. Emi must’ve been coaching him the last few days on how to act on a first date. After all, he did tell her that Emi knew that papa had a special friend and was curious about the whole situation. Maybe she was ever the one who had suggested the outfit he was wearing? But those details didn’t matter much as he had actually taken the advice, and he was acting like a gentleman while escorting them to the car.
She had known that Isa had a fondness with cars and vehicles since the day he took her home after her hungover. She also knew that he had two cars and a motorcycle. But most of the times he stuck with two of them wherever she saw him. It was either his motorcycle or his yellow SUV. So, she was quite surprised to be taking his little blue car that she only saw in his garage. He must’ve thought this occasion was special to bring this cutie out of its garage. “Finally, I get to ride in this adorable car of yours, Baby. And I kinda match with it.” she gushed and smiled at him while Isa held the door for her to get here. While in his passenger seat, Val first puts on her seatbelt and then her eyes wander around the car, taking in all of its older retro features like its leather and windows. The witch could admit that she didn’t know very much about cars like her lover, But this car was lovely, and knowing Isa has lived a long time, it must be special to them. Yet, the feature that really caught her eyes was the cassette deck embedded in the dashboard. No one had these anymore!? She turned her head slightly to the right then to see a tiny center console with musical tapes with labels to recall bands like Green Day, Nirvana, The Ramones, Led Zeppelin, and other groups she never heard of before. Her boyfriend was cool sometimes…..
Turning back to the deck itself, Val noticed it looked like there was a cassette already in that sleek machine and she wanted music. And so the pinkette decided to turn the tape player on and it didn’t take for the tape to roar with life. The song that played on the deck was theatrical and fun with the guitar riffs and such. Oddly enough, Val started to dance and groove in her seat a little as it went on. Her head and hair moved along with her. Until halfway through the song, she heard the driver’s door open and turned her head to a puzzled looking Isa with a little smirk on his face. “What?” she asked, brushing and fixing some of her bubblegum hair out of her face.

Wearing: Tired«» Company: Esmee «» Location:My Witch’s Lair «» Money: ? «» Relationship Status:“Openly” Dating Isa Schreck
There was nothing wrong with partying, yet there was or will always be a hangover. For Val, she was dealing with hers nearly three weeks after Halloween. Not a literal one but more of a metaphorical one. One that was caused by a little recklessness. Though could she really blame herself for not closing the bridge between the other world and here, not when she had a hot date. No one could have known that a demonic beast would cross the veil and start eating poor souls and bringing little ghost friends with him.
But that was all in the past, hopefully and the bohemian witch didn’t get away scotch free without a mess. She had to deal with all the specters that passed through her altar that night and decided to take up residence in her home. Elderly to children alike with many stories and so many reserves to not lose their own minds again. She worked all these days and nights to get her houseguests to transcend. She had to reason with the adults about the nature of the universe, while having to soothe the little ones to not be afraid. Nearly every one of them were gone now but one.
“Do, don't you want me to love you...I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you.”
The voice of Paul Mccartney wailed throughout the house as Val walked down the stairs to see the last of the uninvited apparitions on the couch and read through a fashion magazine while blasting the music. Her guest, a woman with short chopped hair and a swollen belly, peered up from the entermenient to greet her. “Erhebe dich und strahle die Hexe,” The woman smiled as it became a little routine for them.
“Lena, are you sure that ‘he’ is not worrying about you two?” Val replied not exactly playing into the usual banter that they have grown to have with each other and jumped into reasoning. The pinkette knew that it would be a waste of time to act like roommates with Lena. She was a hard-a** for staying in the world of living. It took a whole week for the moonchild to even learn her name, and she had to piece the rest. Like how Lena was with child because she would rub her belly in a morning still, or how she was from some time before the 1970s because of the music she would blast all day long and not-so-punk fashion choices, and or how the reddened stain on her shirt signaled her death by gunshot….
“Vertrau mir, dass er nicht ist” the undead woman mused while Val started to the kitchen to brew some tea for another long day. It was not that she hated Lena being here. She was cool and admirable for a lot of things. In another life, they could have been friends. Yet for right now, her presence in the world could cause a bigger mess like what happened on Halloween.
As the pot of green tea brew Vasilisa would eyed her phone on the counter and picked it up, calling Isa’s number. “I need you now.” she said as soon as the line picked up.
» Out of Cigarettes (O.O.C): Val doesn't know Isa and Lena know each other. "He" is a reference to the father of Lena's baby, but not who he is
Translation “Vertrau mir, dass er nicht ist” = "trust me he's not" “Erhebe dich und strahle die Hexe,”= "rise and shine, Witch"
