If there was one thing Killakeeth loved more than eating, it was being the center of attention. She had no problem with people or dragons coming to admire her wherever she was. In fact she made a bit of a point to make herself available to be admired as much as possible since her flight. Being shy was not a trait she suffered from.
Thankfully, Teth was not the type to leave people be. He'd been told to stay at her side as much as possible, so the brown dragon did. He'd leave whenever F'ell called, or they had things to do of course, but otherwise Killakeeth had the admirer she wanted (as well as a supply of food she didn't need to get). Even now Teth was with her in her wallow, tending and fawning just as much as possible in between napping; Killakeeth was growing larger and certainly that meant she needed more attention, right?

While it might be only her second clutch, this queen was prepared. At least this time she waited until a couple hours after dawn; so people could see her better she reasoned. Vosin, Teth, the time has come to move. The gold summoned her rider and mate. In truth, Vosin had been expecting the summons any day now. However it was mildly irritating to have just settled into her paper work for the morning when those summons came.
She gave a sigh and pushed her chair back. “Very well.” The moment of her confinement had come, albeit temporary. Vosin headed out to meet her queen and faithful brown attendant. “Good morning Teth. Shall we?” Vosin and Killakeeth headed in toward the main weyr. Killakeeth with her neck arched and she stepped proudly. Let all see where she was going!
Teth arched his neck. It was time? It was time! He pranced ahead and bugled to announce it to the weyr. His and Killakeeth’s eggs were about to be laid! Killakeeth watched her faithful mate with amusement as he cleared the way. It would still take several hours, but the time to start was now. She entered the tunnel to the hatching sands and surveyed her domain. Alright, Teth kindly sit over there if you please. She pointed her muzzle to a section of the sands that would be out of her way.
Teth hummed and eagerly took his position, ready to provide any support needed. Vosin strode up the steps to the Stands. She’d watch from where her feet wouldn’t burn. Good luck dear. Killakeeth crooned to her rider, she didn’t need luck. She was best gold and had picked the best mate. Unlike some golds, she didn’t shuffle around the sands looking for the best spot. Killakeeth made the perfect spot. She swept in sands from other areas to build a suitable mound.
Once satisfied with the status of the sands, Killakeeth began laying. She deposited each egg gently onto the hot sands. After several hours of intense laying the clutch was done. Killakeeth rested, slightly curled, behind her clutch providing the perfect backdrop for her eggs. Teth, you may come over and see our eggs now. Vosin, come look!
The brown jumped up from his spot as if something had nipped at his tail. He carefully came over and peered down at the still squishy eggs. They are beautiful, he whispered. Vosin headed down with a smile. She moved to the front and carefully counted up the eggs. “Well done Killakeeth. They will be a fine addition to the Weyr.

Welcome to Killakeeth's Clutch
Welcome to Killakeeth's Clutching Thread! This is where we'll be introducing Western Weyr's newest clutch to the world. This is a special time for the Weyr, as baby dragons are always cause for a celebration. The clutch appears healthy and strong, and now it's only a matter of time for the Weyr to prepare for the new life!
This clutch is conventional for Western. Browns choosing Queen's isn't looked down upon as it might be in High Reaches Weyr. The entire Weyr will be quietly celebrating this new batch of life, and your characters are more than welcome to congratulate both Vosin, F'ell, and their dragons! Candidates are going to be on edge as now it's the final countdown to a Hatching and the chance to Impress. While High Reaches and Western Weyr are still fighting, it is said that Western will allow Candidate's from High Reaches to stand and will be welcome to participate in the upcoming Touching. That said, tensions between the two Weyrs are still not fully healed, and Western Weyr will expect nothing but GOOD behavior from their lot. Especially as it was Western Weyr who forgot their place as guests at an allies home.
ICly, the Touching will happen about a few sevendays later, when the eggs are harder than they are now. The Hatching will happen a few weeks later. We handwave the exact timeline it takes from clutching to Hatching for the sake of flow--and what works best on Staff's schedules. ; )
OOCly, we're going to dive right in so get those last-minute Candidates cranked out because matching dergs is officially happening! Make sure you sign them up in the Candidate Signup Thread! While you're there, make sure everything's up-to-date, including whether you want HR folks to be considered!

Purple Flying Heart Egg: A large friendly egg right in the middle of the clutch. It seems genuinely happy to be a growing egg. Eggeggeggeggeggegg!
Hot Pink 80s Egg: Those who gather around this medium egg will feel themselves begin to unwind. Take a load off, and hang out with it!
Ace Flag Egg: A small egg that seems utterly, terribly, most magnificently... bored.
Brown Paw Print Egg: A medium egg that carries an air of challenge, judging and weighing anyone who approaches. You get the sense that it finds you very... quaint.
Purple and White Swirl Egg: This small egg that exudes nothing but warmth and love to all who approach. Don't be shy, all are welcome!
Blue and Purple Paint Egg: A small egg that does not appreciate the way that you are touching that other egg. Yes, that one. Excuse you, notice me senpai. Rude.
Bone Egg: A small egg that isn't here to take any of your s**t. There's a sharpness to this egg, so beware any who draw near.
Blue and Black Rosette Egg A large egg that seems to be ever vigilant and watchful. This egg is alert, and ready for whatever might come.
Daisy Egg: This small sized egg seems rather shy, and is definitely much more quiet than the rest. Please don't... don't judge it too much.
Nanner Egg: A small egg that seems to exude a calm air about it.
Green Olive Egg: A large egg that seems a bit restless, yet curious and quite bold. This egg is both welcoming and supportive.
Eggshell Egg: This medium sized egg seems to tremble with excitement and good-feelings. Every now and then it gives a little, or big, twitch.
Blue Cloud Egg: This small egg almost seems to be muttering whenever anyone comes near, but you can't quite make out what it is saying.
Shining Star Egg: This small egg seems to have a curious air about it. Why not come over and say hello?
Teal and Yellow Spiral Egg: A medium egg that wants all the touches, please. Yes, even yours.
Sunset Egg: This small egg seems to be lost in its own world. Perhaps you'll draw it out of its shell?
Mint Chocolate Chip Egg: A medium sized egg that beckons you closer. This egg wants a better look, thanks!
Charcoal Egg A large egg at the back of the clutch. This one is very guarded but every now and then, you get the feeling you're being watched.
Blue Spotted Egg: A medium that seems to be pondering something very deeply. It's not clear whether it has noticed your approach.
Funfetti Egg: A medium egg that draws the eye immediately. All eyes over here!
Gay Flag Egg This small egg really wants to meet you... but it's having vapors right now. Oh Faranth! So many people!
Night Sky Egg: A medium sized egg that exudes nothing but good-vibes. Come check this one out!
Candy Cane Egg: A small egg that seems to exude nothing but confidence.
