The little butterfly really had no idea what was going on, not that a butterfly could really think that much anyway. All it could see was this large canine hopping around it.
Tailfeather was many things, but serious was not one of those. A true product of his parents, he spent most of his time doing his own thing. (within reason, of course, he had no desire to incite the wrath of his pack, after all) To really emphasize that, the male had wandered off from the group and was instead choosing to "hunt" a butterfly he'd come across. Which... mostly consisted of him laying flat on his stomach, and then hopping into the air around the bug, before laying flat a few feet away again... and then jumping around it some more - all the while never actually going near it.
It was nonsensical and something a pup would do, but with no one around to judge him for it, he really didn't care how he looked. Finally, with a laugh, the wolf rolled forward onto his back and watched as the butterfly, finally spooked, flew away.

Serenity Moon had also taken to stretching her legs out when she could now that she was older, though she usually strode with purpose. Dawnstar was home to jokesters like Clay Fox and his son after all, and she liked to think she was saving them from the wrath of the betas and Two-Tone by interceding when they decided to act out. The moon was smiling on her, she was sure of it! But strangely, according to the lack it didn’t seem to favor everyone equally. She hadn’t ever understood the omega ruling. Yes, the moon was something to be revered and respected, but Serenity could never believe that it would forsake a pup at birth, even if they couldn’t physically see it sometimes. The moon was a loving (and probably busy!) goddess, not a vengeful one. Serenity Moon had strove to not treat wolves like Tailfeather any differently than she expected to be treated while growing up, and she hoped it had made a difference. Long legs easily bridged the gap as she finally made herself known now that the butterfly hunt was finished. “No luck?” she teased.

The male paused in his laughter to tilt his head towards the voice, though he kept the goofy expression on his face, tongue lolling out comically. It was a familiar voice, and while they hadn't interacted much, he knew she was someone in the pack and formerly a fellow pup he'd played with when he was younger. So no, he wasn't concerned about Serenity Moon being cross with him goofing off.
Instead, Tailfeather wiggled himself over onto his stomach as he responded back, "Nah, I let it get away. It's no fun if the game stops too early." Not that he knew if he'd run into the butterfly again. How could you predict something like that anyway?
Well... maybe a seer could, but he certainly couldn't.
He sniffed towards her, "What about you? Any luck hunting today?"

"The game ran away, I think," she said with a smile, watching the butterfly flutter away until it was a pinprick between the trees. "But nah, I was scouting today! They're finally letting me." For Serenity Moon wasn't the most graceful hunter...That much had been clear even as a pup. Her tracking skills were fine, but her clumsiness seemed to come out at the worst times. Such was the price for having long legs, she supposed. "Not that there was anything interesting," she added with a pout. "There never is. Even if there is, someone like Dad or Stonerooted just scares it off soon as they look at it. Dawnstar's perfectly safe." Sigh.

His ears perked up at that. Scouting sounded so interesting to him - you must see and meet so many new things - but he was generally kept away from such things. It was probably for the best, he supposed. He'd probably get distracted and wander somewhere he shouldn't.
Of course, her comment about it not being interesting had him tilting his head and frowning. Well, that certainly didn't sound as fun as he had been led to believe, but....
"Safe is good though, right?"
