Comment: The fascination with Aztec culture seems to lean towards the macabre. The admiration of the archaeologists of the precision of cruelty committed by the Aztec says something about our modern day condition, or the condition of some of our scholars. If the Conquistadors was a punishment for all this evil committed towards image bearers then perhaps something similar is coming our way.

Note how the article affirms what the Conquistadors claimed; slaves where sold on markets for this particular purpose. They did not distinguish between women, men and children. Children as young as 5 were sacrificed. It was a practice to establish fear as well as a pagan worship. Fear because it was often members of warring communities were the ones being sacrificed. The execution act and the following dismembering was a "skill" that was taught and perfected.
