Seemingly a Northerner through and through, many people tend to act like she's from the North even if she corrects them. They see the pale skin, the prim and proper way she holds herself and just assume whatever they want about her. It's not entirely pleasant, but when Laredda looks in the mirror she certainly can't blame them. Much.
Laredda's skin tends to turn red rather than tan and she's been on the receiving end of terrible sunburns more than once. Her skin is a healthy pale peach, as long as she makes sure she takes care of it. That means lots of creams for her and constant sunblock.For many reasons. Laredda is used to using her hair to hide behind it, not out of shyness, but out of her desire to keep herself out of the sun. But she recognizes the more practical route of putting your hair up in the heat so that's what she does. Her dark rowan locks most often found pulled into a tight bun at the back of her head, only a few loose strands escaping. Laredda's eyes are almost always kept clear, her gray green gaze keen and observant when nothing is blocking her sight.
Not necessarily small, and not necessarily average. Laredda is petite, slim, and vastly underestimated. It's not that spends all her time training her body, working to make sure she's able to take on anyone and anything. But she does make sure no one is able to get the jump on her. She's more than able to throw around her own weight, and more than willing to do so. Her dedication shows when she's not sporting her favored light and airy blouses. Well defined muscle seen in her arms, and neck, a testament to the rest of her athleticism. Without the seeming frailty her clothes give to her most might think twice about saying a cross word to her face.
As said Laredda prefers light and airy clothing, often found in flowing gowns or just as loose blouses. Her work clothes are even a little on the airy side, though she wears a simple corset to keep the blouse confined to her figure. She can't have it getting in the way after all!! Most of her clothing is simple in design and simple in color, she's not one to go for extravagance. Dyes are expensive, Laredda has better things to spend her marks on and she isn't keen on looking like a terran peacock.

Self-assured. The single most common word used to describe Laredda. A woman who knows who she is and knows where she's going. It's a quiet confidence that she radiates, not aggressive or demanding. It draws people in, asks them to listen to her and when they do she returns the favor.
Laredda is a quiet sort of person, not one to be overtly noisy or draw attention to herself. It's not that she sneaks around, she just doesn't make much noise herself. Her movements light and airy, her footsteps soft. Even her voice is a low gentle tone, and though she knows how to harden it, how to raise it above a crowd, she rarely does. Laredda enjoys her peace and quiet and there's very little that will encourage her to give it up. She's confident enough in herself in fact to make sure that other people around her know this too. Somewhat like a grumpy archivist when her quiet is disturbed, Laredda is sure enough of herself to hush those around her if they get a little too rambunctious for her tastes. She doesn't try to oppress, just impress that they're being quiet rude.
It takes quiet a bit for her to truly lose her temper, but Laredda is the type to simmer. To sit and stew over one matter or another until it bursts forth from her like an eruption. On one hand, this means she isn't going off on anyone without reasons, on the other hand when she does go off she gets quite nasty. It doesn't help that the force of her words is truly backed by her own forceful personality. Sharp, biting, she puts weight into them even when she may regret them later. Laredda has ruined more than one friendship this way, and is often on the look out to make sure she doesn't ruin another.
She's not usually a forceful woman, but when she needs to be she can be. Perhaps oddly enough the strength of her personality comes through in her teasing. Laredda isn't shy to put a quick witty little comment here or there, but she is polite about it. She reads the mood of the room and acts accordingly, knowing when teasing would be welcomed or when it would just make the entire situation worse. Lighthearted jokes only work if there's laughter after all, not awkward silences.

History:
Laredda's life was a quiet one. Born on the Southern Continent, she lived at Southern Hold for most her life. Her father was a passing rider who visited her mother every now and again, there were plans at one point for the pair of them to join him at the Weyr but that all changed when her father lost his life in a betweening accident.
It was the biggest blip in Laredda's life that she would ever have, losing her father. But where she lost one father, she gained another in the man who eventually married her mother. Her step-father would be the one to encourage her to join the Starcrafters, beginning her apprenticeship at the young age of twelve. It would be the first time she was ever away from home, but her time at the Hall would be some of the best Turns of her life. There was very little that could keep her from completing her apprenticeship and at the age of twenty-one she walked the tables.
At her request she was stationed back at Southern Hold near her family. And it was from Southern Hold she was Searched for Western Weyr. A great surprise to her and a new adventure, it was time to enter a brand new world.
