It seemed like summer was making one last gasp before autumn took full hold of the season and the day was pleasantly warm, cloudless and sunny. Only a harsher wind blowing from the direction of the sea hinted at the coming rains and change in the weather.
C'zon was taking full advantage of the day, stretched out lazily beside the weyr lake he was munching half heatedly at a hard fruit and he had a book open inf front of him. 'A comprehensive History of Pern' Riveting stuff. It was not one of the books written into the weyrling lesson plan but it did align with their lesson plans rather well and the author had a touch of the story teller and fairy tale weaver to his words which C'zon enjoyed more than the usual dry texts they were given.

Near by Sonorienth was led down in a patch of grass sunning herself. However the whole air around the small green was rather off. The poor creature was clearly making a solid attempt at looking relaxed and calm while the muscles in her legs quivered with restless energy and her eyes bore into her rider who was paying not the slightest bit of notice to her. This continued for about 10 minutes before Sonorienth broke.

Are you sure this is what we are meant to be doing today?
The green pressed for the tenth time

C'zon lifted his head from his book and rolled his shoulders in a shrug. I told you Sono, this is our day off. A day of rest. We aren't meant to do anything today, we need to recharge which just means, sleeping, relaxing and doing whatever we want.

And it was true the weyrling Master had told them to go and enjoy their rest day. But Sonoreinth still felt slightly uneasy not setting herself to some sort of task or lesson. They were weyrlings after all, it was vital they learned all they needed to so that they could graduate into a wing and take to the sky with the rest of the weyr and do what she had been born to do.

The green readjusted her posture, then she changed it back, she huffed and stretched her wings, then tried to nap for all of five seconds before she stood to change positions again.

At that point even the ever Patient C'zon was finding it hard to read through his dragons restless mind. 'You know Lait did also say we should use our time as weyrlings to bond with each other since we will be relying on each other in the future. Maybe go find one of your clutch mates to bother...I mean bond with'

Sonorienth brightened. Oh that was a good idea. Jumping back to her feet she twisted her head to see who was around that would partake in some organised bonding.

Kiri and Felisath had been enjoying their rest day together. The young woman still couldn’t believe she’d had such luck as to Impress the beautiful creature, and honestly, was just as enraptured today as she had been during the Hatching. Never in a million Turns could she have guessed that this beautiful and most precious green would pick her--nor could she imagine the change Felisath would bring in her.

Love was a miraculous thing, and to find ones soulmate was indescribable.

Felisath filled her hearts in ways she had never expected, had softened her hardest edges, and had given her a new warmth. On that same token, Kiri knew that there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her beauty. Felisath, for her part, soaked up every ounce of attention and affection Hers offered, only to return it in full.

Having just left the Barracks, the two were out for a walk about the Weyrbowl, and then perhaps the beach, when the green dragon paused. She had caught sight of one of her sisters nearby. Thankfully, it wasn’t one of her brothers, and though she had no intention of leaving Kiri’s side, the green did offer a gentle croon in greeting. She had no intention of disrupting Sonorienth, who did rather look to be on some sort of mission or task, but it would have been rude not to at least acknowledge her.
