√ Word Count: 332
Val could care less. He's not even thinking about it. He goes to the basement and starts preparing the treatment for the patient he mentioned. As he works, he goes around leaving things behind or out of place absently without noticing because he's focused on what he's doing. He relies on Cobalt to take care of those things for him.
After a couple hours, when he's finished with the medicine and remedies he needs for tonight, he leans back in his squeaky old elegantly-designed office chair with a sigh. He takes off his glasses to run his hand over his face. The second reason he likes having Cobalt around, in addition to cleaning up after him, is Val just likes to look at him. He designed the blue-eyed android to be very beautiful, at least in Val's opinion. He motions for Cobalt to come sit on his lap so Val can kiss him and flirt around with him.
Tungsten was made anatomically correct and fully functional just like Cobalt, but since Val now understands how complex their emotions and intellect are, to the point they may even have real souls, he's never used Tungsten for these purposes. His experiment was to treat Tungsten like a real person and see how that affected his personality. That means he would have to get to know him slowly, just like a real person, and then ask him out the old-fashioned way and only proceed further if Tungsten was interested. But Val isn't concerned about that right now. He's content with Cobalt, who was custom designed to bring Val's favorite fantasies to life. The thought of having two of them to play with has crossed his mind but it isn't a priority right now.
It's not unusual for Val to get completely distracted by Cobalt and take a break from his work to be affectionate with him. Today is one such occasion. He ends up going all the way with him right there in his office.
(( Roxas can have Tungsten walk in on this if he wants. I think it makes more sense for Cobalt to be Tungsten's rival since he's the only one who was created before Tungsten and has already caused a little conflict with them which could grow into something bigger, especially with Tungsten always dramatizing everything. He's planted the first seed of doubt that maybe he's not as good at things as Cobalt so this could be the second step to getting Tungsten to be jealous of him. I think that relationship feels more natural than the one set up on purpose with Nitrogen. Nitrogen's character wouldn't participate in the rivalry with him so it would just be one-sided, which could be used for humor but at least Cobalt really does look down on Tungsten and see him as inferior so Tungsten has a reason to compete with him. The fire and ice coincidence is a nice touch, too. ))

√ Tungsten: 626 words
Tungsten cleans up the house and since he does everything so quickly, he ends up getting done faster than Cobalt. he hangs around waiting for Val to come in and decide whether he did a good job or not, which Val has no intention of doing. he hangs around impatiently for a while then wonders what Cobalt is doing down there with him. he decides to go down there and prove Cobalt isn't better than him by bringing Val a drink and a snack. but when he walks in, they're, erm, occupied, so he pulls back around the corner from the doorway.
since we never mentioned any intentions of Val having a relationship with Tungsten and he's supposed to end up partnered with Antimony instead, this occasion is important for him but not because he's jealous of Cobalt exactly. he peeks around the corner. well, yes, he is a little bit concerned as to why Val would do this with Cobalt instead of him, and that does cement in his mind that Cobalt is Val's favorite and that bothers him. but more importantly, by watching them he figures out the code process thing that is used to activate "secondary mode" which Tungsten didn't know he had. they don't feel attracted to people so they never get turned on without this initiation sequence, so since Val never did it to him, he didn't even know it was there. he's baffled to see Cobalt start acting differently and doing things that, to Tungsten, since he's never had sex and never had his secondary mode activated, appear to be completely nonsensical. it's like watching people dance when you can't hear the music. he just sort of stares at them like an idiot.
he doesn't hold back from interrupting them because of the usual reasons a person would have about this. he stays back because he doesn't understand what's going on. is this a good thing? a bad thing? is Cobalt being punished or something? what in the heck?
he stands next to the door peeking in sneakily for a while then pulls back to lean against the wall holding the tray. he debates what he should do. he's quite curious about all that and considers marching in there and asking them what they're doing, but that bothers him. why does Cobalt get to do special things Tungsten doesn't even know about? can Tungsten do those things, too? it's annoying to have Cobalt always be the more experienced one who knows everything.
he decides instead to leave the tray by the door for Val and then goes up to his room and closes the door. he decides to try the secondary mode activation sequence on himself by copying what he saw Val do to Cobalt, and then he learns for himself everything about what that mode is and what happens and how it feels and the whole "it deactivates automatically if they're not touched for 15 seconds" thing and that leads to also figuring out that if you never do the 15-second wait then it just never deactivates and goes on forever. since he's not designed to get off then he can just simply choose when he wants to quit, which ends up being when he feels like he's been gone long enough to possibly arouse suspicion. for some reason, he wants to keep this a secret. it's something he learned on his own. Val never taught him this. does that mean Val didn't want him to know? if Val decides to teach him this later, then maybe Tungsten should pretend it's all new for him. he'll feel more confident now that he actually knows what to expect, but he'll pretend to be innocent and act all amazed about it.
(( now it'll affect his character depending on if Val does at some point decide to take interest in him and teach him this stuff, or if he just never does ))
