TIME SKIPPIN' MANIAC
OH MAN! He couldn't believe he was sitting in school like everything was normal after what happened. He couldn't sit still! None of the other students really knew what happened to Nobu and Tachibana. Talk about crazy! It was really hard to keep his mouth shut, luckily whenever he was about to burst he could go running to Eri or Masaa or Mika to babble about all the things on his mind. "Eri-chan! You were totally amazing! I knew you had powers, but you never showed them to me. You helped shield everyone from the wicked snake and healed my wounds and healed Mika's wounds- EVEN AFTER THAT, you still had strength to latch onto me like a koala bear, you were like my own Mr. Yuki, SO CUTE! Oh, yeah. How is Mr. Yuki? He made it out without a scratch right? Hey, if I take the scholarship, do I get to see you every day? Can I learn to fight with you and do awesome stuff like Masaaki did too? Beacuse if I could use magic, my barrier would've protected Aru and Spade and," excitement got the best of Ikki and his loyalty to Masa and Eri hadn't faltered throughout their stay at the facility.
It took Masa awhile to regroup with them, but when he did- OH BOY DID IKKI LET HIM HAVE IT. He didn't hesitate to show Masa the recordings he had on his phone of him flirting with Mika, but he wasn't able to show him until they were in the car on their way home. IT WASNT THE LAST MASA WOULD HEAR BOUT IT EITHER. "Masaa-maaaaaaaan!" Ikki made sure to greet his buddy every morning as usual, but then- He'd grab his hand, get down on one knee, look into his eyes dreamily and. "With your beauty and power, as strong and as bright as the stars in the sky, this nefarious day will not stand a chance! Come, let us slay our studies together, my Plum-ette beauty~" repeat every single line he had said to Haruno during his intoxication (while making little altercations of his own). No one at school thought anything of it. In fact, people wondered if Ikki was going to be in a play. Even in the hallways, Ikki would break away from Eri-chan's side to go chasing after Masaaki yelling, "My queen! Like a cape aflutter, you have flown into my heart! Let me be your knight in shining armor!" he'd even grab brooms and act like Kiki flying around during clean up. It was all in good fun though. He loved his buddy and knew he was really embarrassed about what happened. If he heard it enough, maybe he'd get over it! Plus, it was nice no one else knew, well Mika did...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, did she not like to be teased. Ikki learned real quick not to poke her about what happened. It took four words spoken in the cheesy accent to land him not only in the nurse's bed, but also the teacher's lounge AND the principal's office. "W-w-w-wait! There's been a misunderstanding. I wasn't chasing Mika's skirt this time! I mean, yeah, I try to peak everyone once inawhile because she's hawt, but THIS WAS NOT THE CASE!" Ikki's charms faltered and his stupidity shown bright when in the face of authority. He was sentenced to clean up duties for detention and was really bummed. After that, Mika avoided him like the plague, staring daggers at him to keep him at bay.
So, Ikki spent a lot of time with Eri-chan, making sure people gave her plenty of space in the hallway. "SIX FEET! Everyone make way for my angelic Eri-Chan!" people would ask if they were dating, but Ikki would say their relationship wasn't romantic, he was happy to be with her like a loyal dog, which made people laugh and not really understand their relationship. It was during all this Ikki noticed Mika spending more time with Keito senpai (who shunned him after he ruined the clothes he borrowed). He confronted Eri-chan about it and she opened his dumbfounded eyes. Mika was unhappy just like Masaaki. With a playful cheek pinch, she'd tell him "Stop making fun of Maasaki, its not fun anymore, you should leave them alone for a bit." All fired up from his little lady's pep-talk, Ikki was put on the right path.. the path of LOVE AND LOYALTY. When she said "leave them alone for a bit," Ikki only took it as not to intervene DIRECTLY. He could work from the shadows, JUST LIKE CUPID.
"Masa-man!" Ikki flip-flopped and stopped teasing Masaaki. "Broh, I'm sorry for teasing you. I was trying to help you get over it, because man you actually super cool. You shouldn't be embarrassed, broh! I admit, teasing wasn't the right way to show you, but I'm on your team! I'm rooting for you, broh! Let's get Mika on our camping trip, I'll be your wing man!" he made a pact, knowing Masaaki had been really depressed over everything, plus after Eri-chan pointed things out, he knew something could be fixed! He had said to before and he'd say it again, if a broh liked the like the girl he liked- he'd back away, but in all honesty he didn't LIKE Mika, he just thought she was hawt. And now when he thought of hawt, he pictured Eri-chan's thighs alongside Mika's and NOSEBLEED. Also he was let down by the fact Eri-chan was short, so her skirt was longer and he couldn't seem dem thick yummy thighs at school- unless she was going up stairs. He wished the library was upstairs. After holding Eri's soft juicy thighs, he was a thigh guy now.

The aftermath of the fight against the Empyrean was missed entirely by Eris as she's fallen unconscious before them, but it seemed the UDA had called an extraction squad to pick them up and dispose of if Willow's body; it seemed that Ikki had been in a well enough state to carry her and that she, in turn, had had no desire to be apart from him for the entire trip back to the facility.
When she did wake up she was VERY reluctant to leave Ikki's side and thankfully no one forced her to leave, and it seemed he had made a full recovery and that they'd been offered some sort of scholarship program to partake in and this visit now was a sneak peek of sorts. Eris, while concerned about this, was more relieved that Ikki and the others were okay and would be released soon. the small mage was given food and then Kyrie and other scientists wanted to know about the development of her new power. While initially reluctant she did as she was told as it was Kyrie who was investigating the new differences; while it seemed Eris he gained power Mika seemed to have lost one of hers and it was unsure if it was temporary or not, Kyrie was convinced it was due to the shift in their relationships, bonds between their friends strengthening and weakening accordingly.
Kyrie oversaw Eris’s recovery and care in the facility which she was silently grateful for; at this point, it was no secret that the excitable women were pretty much the only scientist in the facility Eris had even a remote fraction of trust in and participated in Kyrie’s ‘test’ of her new healing abilities without issue: the conclusion was that Eris’s telekinetic pulses triggered the bodies natural healing processes before her powers sped up said process enough that it only took a few seconds to heal a cut, she could not, however, heal herself in any way; she did attempt to heal a cut on her finger but it remained untouched leading them to believe that currently, she could only heal others.
After that she was dismissed, a plaster was slapped into her finger and the new Director asked to see her; he was...weird; nothing like the former director who had been stone-faced, mean and stunk of blood and booze, Rokaku was his opposite being refined and polite his office always smelled faintly of incense and tea, always tea, the man was obsessed with it but it was better than before.
Usually being seen by the Director was always a bad thing...now it wasn’t so much and she sat in the large chair opposite his desk and felt tiny in it as Rokaku poured her some tea adding sugar and milk knowing she liked it sweet, before inviting her to visit the new puppies in the facility that would be trained to become guard dogs and aids to agents. She didn't like the idea of them being trained to hunt mages but right now they were puppies, big, soft curious, adorable puppies.
Eris played with them; being attacked by a starving dog in the past did not dissuade her from her love of animals in all shapes and forms and may or may not have wound up taking a brief nap with half a dozen of the puppies around her on the floor but if it happened only Director Rokau knew. When she awoke after her nap and was given another cup of tea she was surprised that the man was offering her an apology for her past treatment; she had known there had been a few changes in the facility now it was under Rokaku’s leadership but she never ever expected to get an apology of all things from the director. She didn't know what to say to that so she didn't say anything and finished her tea only pausing to look back at the director “I’d like to...talk with you again and see the puppies” She murmured before leaving.
He was a confusing man but...he wasn't unkind.
After that she and Mika were escorted back to the school dorms as if nothing had happened and Ikki and Maasaki had gone home, if Eris wasn’t with Ikki then she was with Mika and their relationship felt less strained than it had been before, the other mage had stopped outright ignoring her and they spent time together during school enjoying each others company; they didn't really talk much but when they did it was...enlightening, even a little fun.
One day at lunch taking a sip of the soda Mika had bought her she just came right out with it "Sooo...you have a crush too? Ikki's going to be really disappointed it's not him" she commented lightly which caused Mika to have a spit take and vehemently deny it despite looking the most flustered Eris had ever seen her, claiming that boys are all a bunch of walking hormones and that Ikki should be lucky that Eris even had an interest in him. “I don't fully understand my interest in him either yet it's all very new...I mean he IS an idiot no denying that...but he’s always been kind to me without expecting anything from me in return...that and his body is VERY nice”
Her bold attitude towards said feelings was undoubtedly a surprise to Mika but having a crush having genuine romantic feelings for another person was very new, especially considering she had hated other people mainly adults being around her...now she craved Ikkis presence and missed him when he wasn't around; she knew her mind and thoughts better than anyone else, it seemed pointless to deny how she felt about the blonde-haired boy.
Speaking of...Ikki had been acting like a big, loyal puppy since they returned to school, of course, he isn't allowed to talk about the UDA or about mages to others so he would run to Eris or Mika and then word vomit on them unable to contain his excitement; Mika undoubtedly found it annoying but Eris didn't mind and would spend all of her lunch break listening to him talk patiently while feeding Ikki bites of food when he paused to take in a breath so he didn't go completely hungry.
Most of what he talked about were how amazing she was which wasn't true but Ikki seemed to genuinely believe it and decided not to puncture a hole in his fantastical dreams about her and let him talk about the UDA and that if he took the scholarship if he could see her every day “I'm not sure, it's very likely though” Had been her answer; after all the reason she'd untapped new power was because of Ikki, the whole point of them interacting with other people was due to Kyrie's experiment in how mages bonding with humans would make them stronger; it would be foolish to give Ikki a position in the UDA and not allow him to see her when she was present.
“Are you sure you want to do that though? The agents are meant to keep us in line, to be our aides and such in combat this is true...but if we overstep your boundaries, they are ordered to kill us” She said putting a finger to her head like an imaginary gun exemplifying her point “Sorry, I'm not trying to dissuade you, I'm just being honest about what the agents do...but I’ll support you whatever you choose Ikki-Kun” she assured him.
Of course, Ikki’s attention was not only on her but Maasaki who he teased relentlessly about the things he'd said on the beach of course attempts to tease Mika horrendously backfired landing the other in the nurse's office, then the principles as he was accused of peeking under Mika’s skirt, which was unlikely to be true or Eris was pretty sure Ikki would be in a coma and not doing detention for his ‘crime’.
She of course got him to stop the teasing eventually, all it took was a pinch on the cheek and a "Stop making fun of Masaaki, it's not fun anymore, you should leave them alone for a bit." for him to drop his constant teasing of Masaaki and his performance at the beach, and she may or may not have given the poor pink-haired boy a thumbs up on her way to class once it was done.
When the blonde teen wasn't getting into trouble he was doing his best impression of a loyal knight in shining armor keeping everyone from her; it was amusing and unnecessary, but she allowed him to do this for her because it meant she could walk through the hallways without being trapped by hordes of people; of course, everyone started asking if they were dating which they were not, much to the small mages disappointment but she kept that to herself for now.
Needless to say, Ikki went with her almost everywhere and it was nice, her tiny slice of the world was peaceful and back to normal for now...it wouldn't last of course but she was going to take what small victories she could. |
