The 1st man I ever Interviewed (well, babysat actually) when I was 15, backstage at a concert in the Glasgow Apollo (My brothers worked there as bouncers).
He refused to go onstage until they brought his fee, (£5000), in cash, in a brown paper bag. xd
Were you the entertainment's entertainment at that time? rofl Wow, needy much? He think he was going to get ripped off?

I was only dragged along there by my brothers because, unbelievably, Chuck traveled with no entourage, it was just him & his guitars. No bodyguard, No manager, Nothing.
I was only there to fetch & carry stuff like cold drinks & tell him when the band was going to strike up.
In retrospect, I guess he was very jaded, he had been around since the 50's & had probably been ripped off so many times that he simply just did his own thing. He counted out every note in that bag & when he finished, handed me £5, picked up a guitar & said "Go plug this in kid".

Really? Damn, surprising that he traveled that way. But then again, he'd been around awhile, maybe he got sick of the 'excess baggage' following him?
You were the gopher, got it.
Or very set in his ways? Every note? gonk Hopefully he was a quick count.

He was 1 & 1/2 hours late going on stage. Not like Frank Sinatra who started before half the audience had sat down. But that's a story for another day.
