Examination of the claims in the pseudepigrapha writing:
3. Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you.
When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."
Knowing yourself without God revealing what you are is according to the Bible impossible. Natural man is dead in his sins. There is nothing good to discover. Just putridness. No kingdom, no nothing. Unless light comes in there is only darkness.
Ephesians 2:1-2 As for you, you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience.…
The clue here is to know Christ. In Him there is freedom. Not in yourself.
Ephesians 2:5 made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!
You are saved by grace. This means not by searching in yourself for a kingdom or true divine nature. Life was given to you when you had no power yourself to make yourself live. You were dead in your trespasses. The dead are without any power.
