Mine! Don’t wait up for me! Moirath called as she took off from her ledge wheeling down to the feeding pens. Don’t wait up? Moirath, what are you doing?! Veltanna asked sharply. Her dragon had been starting to glow and she was expecting a flight soon but ‘don’t wait up?’ It wasn’t like Veltanna could exactly sleep through a flight…Still it became obvious that Moirath was indeed rising as the instincts began to flow through both of them. “I really need to teach her to make sense.” Veltanna grumbled as she put aside the book she had been reading. As Moirath blooded a caprine she called out to the High Reaches dragons. Come fly and prove if you can find the way! If there is time we might even play! Her eyes swirled with purples and she watched curiously to see who would come and join her. --- About Moirath: Full of strange speech and tangential ideas, Moirath is not the easiest dragon to converse with. But she loves to talk and doesn’t mind if people don’t understand her. She will keep talking until they do or wander off. Moirath loves to help others and wants to be useful. Pros: Helpful, Clever, Joyful Cons: Distractible, Silly, absent minded About Veltanna: Clever and mischievous, Veltanna enjoys pranks, inventing new games, because everything is a game, and seems to have endless energy. She can be overbearing and controlling with wanting things to go way. Still, she is easily bored so she changes her attention often. Pros: Loves challenge, inventive, energetic Cons: puckish, easily bored, domineering Moirath StatsStrength: 9 Dexterity: 12 Cunning: 11 Speed: 10 Endurance: 8 The GameFirst round will begin at 7PM PDT on May 14thThe Game will be three rounds, each round lasting about 48 hours. She rises.Z'rai looked up from restitching a section of their straps that had begun to fray, brow furrowing one moment, and eyebrows lifting the next. "She? Who she? Who is she, I mean? What? Wait!" Moirath, the brown answered, already stretching and readying his wings. It isn't polite to make her wait. The others are going. I go, too. Thus announced, he launched himself off his ledge and headed toward the feeding grounds to join the glowing green. Z'rai's mind raced. "Moirath? Veltanna's..." As he felt the dragon's attention narrow on the green, he heaved a sigh, set aside the straps and stood. "All right, then. Moirath." ---- Kaloth: Friendly if a little judgmental. A fan of order and the "rules of the Weyr". Pretty traditionally minded, but particularly fond of his clutch-and-hatching mates, regardless of color. Pros: Understanding, Sociable, Dutiful Cons: Judgmental, Traditional, Particular Z'rai: A hard-worker who is generally friendly, if not into big displays of any emotion and certainly not a physically demonstrative type. Available but not an aggressive persuer. Pros: Helpful, friendly, patient listener. Cons: Claustrophobic, guarded/reserved, workaholic. Moirath was a bit flighty for his tastes, but Pravdath was thinking too hard tonight. A fanciful distraction would do him a lot of good. His eyes cycled from yellow to green to blue to violet almost too fast to register, and then he was on his feet, stretching his forelegs out in front of him.
Veltanna is waiting. The slender blue dropped off of his ledge without looking back, winging his way toward the feeding pens.
M'llin turned sharply from where he sat at his desk, just in time to see his dragon disappear from sight. Veltanna was...? Oh. He closed his eyes as longing filled him, and after a resigned shake of his head, the man rose and stumbled out of his weyr.
Pravdath landed within sight of the glowing green a few minutes later, watching as she blooded her kill. He strongly doubted that verse would ever be his specialty, but he would never know for sure until he tried.
Beauty rises in the night. Her name is Moirath, what a sight.
Meh. He hoped she liked it.

Once more, the call of one of her clutchmate's rang through the air, lilting tones matching a glittering, star-strewn hide. Mictecath lifted her head to watch as Moirath soared gracefully through the sky, hearts aching. There was a pang of desire, of need, and of pain; her sweet sister deserved a world filled with love and happiness, and how the queen wished she might offer her some. Still… She crooned, wishing the dragons well. Waves of encouragement and affection were sent towards Moirath, before the dragon rested her head on her forepaws.
Nyara came and sat beside her, strumming a guitar she'd acquired from a poor harper. "Maybe you can ask for a cuddle buddy. You never know." Unpractised fingers strummed out of tune and incorrect chords. Mictecath loosed a wistful sigh, watching the heavenly dancers with a hint of desire.

Moirath was delighted to see her lovely suitors coming on grand wings. Kaloth! Have you come to follow me on a merry chase? We will have such fun along the way. She launched herself from the ground and began to climb. As she did, she called to Pravdath, How delightful for you to join me! She gave him a mental caress at his words. What are your lofty thoughts this evening? Will you share them with me?Mictecath received love back and a was of joy. Focused as she was on her needs, she was still delighted to respond to the gold. When we have time we should go lounge by the lake together! And with that she was off over the mountain. Veltanna rose and stretched before turning around in a circle to make sure none of her breakables were about. Think on these things while she still can. As the longing began to cause her shared visions with Moriath she was delighted to see two clutch mates joining them. Moirath did so love her clutch mates of both sets of parents. Roll Speed plus strength! Next round will begin at 7PM PDT Saturday 5/16

Yes! Kaloth answered, actually delighted by such a straight-forward question. Of course I came to fly with you. It is a good way to spend the evening, and, you are so bright, how could I avoid wanting to chase after you? I am already enjoying myself.
Answering had distracted him and so he wasn't the quickest to get off the ground, but he launched and angled after Moirath even so. No flashy barrel rolls or wing waggles as he went. He just flew. ----

Lofty thoughts? Pravdath didn't feel very lofty at the moment. He struggled to formulate a response that held his usual eloquence, but came up very short. By the time he turned his attention back to Moirath, both she and Kaloth had taken to the air, leaving the blue to bring up the rear. He wasn't discouraged.
I think you are the most exquisite creature in the sky tonight. He returned her mental brush, watching carefully to try and anticipate her next move.

She'd appreciated his honesty as well, had he? Kaloth's spirits lifted with the knowledge and he let out a cheerful bugle in response. She would be far, far better than he at those delicate loops she made, he knew, but still, nothing good came of not trying. So, he summoned up a burst of speed, dug in for a long loop through the air and managed one almost gracefully. Not much of a wobble to his wings as he righted himself. Not an embarassment at all!
And what was was the question? Oh. Tea. The hot herb water some of the humans drank. Well. I have never tried a tea, Kaloth confessed. Though I suppose if you would like some, I would try it for your sake. On the fireheights, he further added. We could see the whole of the Weyr from there, and that would be very good.

While Moirath and Kaloth looped and twirled, Pravdath flew steadily and without any particular spectacle.
Tea.
Did dragons even drink... tea? He supposed it hardly mattered. In my mind, there is a placid stream lined with colorful flowers. I would take tea there.
On the ground, M'llin continued calmly forward, though his throat was dry and his fingers tingled.

Moirath came out of her loops and began climbing as high as she could go. Up and up she went. Tea is delightful dear Kaloth. Fireheights would be a fine place to take tea. She spiraled still further upward. That sounds restful and yet lively at the same time, wise Pravdath. A river in the head is always a useful thing to have.Moirath was getting tired and knew she would have too choose soon. She posed one more question to the suitors. What do you think about when you have nothing to think about?Roll strength and endurance! Moirath’s score: 18 Kaloth’s score: 19 Pravdath’s score: 13

Up? Kaloth could do up. Up was so much esier than fancy loops and twists that he allowed himself to feel a little relief. He could see Moirath ahead and above him and that was all the inspiration he needed to keep going.
But the question? That took a moment to answer. There are not many times when we do not think of something, Moirath. There are so many things to think about. There is always a way to do better things, to be better prepared. Sometimes, perhaps, we wonder what others might be thinking. Is that an answer? He hoped it was the sort of answer she'd expected, at least. ---- Kaloth Stats Strength: 10 Dexterity: 6 Cunning: 8 Speeed: 5 Endurance: 6

As it turned out, this flight was less of a distraction than Pravdath had anticipated. He burst forward with an impressive bit of speed as he pondered his reply, but still remained well behind the others.
I'm always thinking, he finally replied. The blue felt a little guilty saying so, like that wasn't what she wanted to hear, but it was true. Sorry. He honestly couldn't recall a time when he'd had nothing to think about.
M'llin hadn't been thinking much at all, allowing his subconscious to guide him toward his destination, but when Pravdath faltered, his head cleared a little. Not enough for him to back down, but a little. It felt good to let go, and the man even smiled as he approached the entrance to her room. It was too dark for anyone to see him do so anyway.
"Veltanna?"

Moirath reached the top of her climb and let herself fall into free fall heading towards the ground far below. As she passed Kaloth she sent him a wave of affection. She didn’t have words to tell him how happy his participation made her so she tried to let her emotions convey the message. As she kept falling she told Pravdath We are always thinking, silly. Even when we think of nothing. How else can we think of nothing if we aren’t thinking? She spread her wings to slow her decent a little. But now is the time to act.Veltanna met M'llin at the door and pulled him inside. Smerdle Pravdath caught a crazy girl! Totals: Moirath: 31 Kaloth: 32 Pravdath: 22 Rolling for winner: 1. Kaloth 2.
