With Sunset off doing….whatever, Melodic Shade had been stressed. She needed help, but was too proud to ask one of the betas, or even another pack member. How did her father do this day in and day out? She looked up to him even more for that.

“Disquise, I’m going for a small hunt. To…clear my head.” The female said to her bunny companion, who was sprawled out, frog legged, near the den entrance. “If anyone asks tell them I’ll be back before sundown, okay?”

When the hare nodded, Shade headed out. A hunt would help her head. Or at least, clear out some of the stress she had felt built up.

The Spider had been in better moods. Accursed mountains. Accursed inclement weather. Accursed everything. He had found a warm spot in the sun to not only take in what he had seen, but also to shake off the ice that had been forming on his body as well as hopefully ease some of the bruises and scratches he had accrued going up the blasted Bluestone.

He was not a strong wolf, physically speaking. This little travel trip had certainly proved it to him. The Spider considered working out a bit more...And then winced as he licked at a tear that had opened up on his pawpad during his traipse back. Damn it. He wondered briefly if he could scurry to Black Forest and perhaps request healing assistance. Or a den. Or the alpha in said den for comfort. Ah...

Well, at least his treasures hadn't been damaged. And he had seen something! So he supposed it wasn't all for nothing.

The Spider was mentally flipping through his lists of Flies to contact about this when he thought he caught a whiff of something. The wind shifted for the briefest moment, enough to tell him something else was coming and most likely not prey. He sat up and cursed inwardly again, ears pricked, his wounded leg dropped. He couldn't, after all, look undignified if beset upon.

Maybe she should have had the rabbit join her. Then again, Disguise was never good on a hunt. The hare would jump at the sight of blood. A pity, rather. Melodi sighed, she could have opted for an easier traveling companion.

The shewolf shook her head. Ah well, no time to dwell on it. She needed to get her mind off things, and a hunt was it. That was, until she heard a rustle. She paused, eyes narrowing as if to look for the stranger.

“Come out!” She called out. Boy, would she be a fool if no one actually answered

---

The Spider took measure of the voice that rang out. Not far at all, female, young...He flipped through his mental map of Kells and traced his paw steps and general direction over the last two days. Most likely...That pack, this loner, or perhaps...

“I am quite comfortable where I am,” he called in response, clambering with a wince onto a rock just large enough for him to splay out on. “Perhaps you might come to me, my dear? I would be easy to spot, you see. Look for the red.”

---

Melodic Shade froze as the male presented himself on the boulder. Her eyes narrowed as she took in the sight, before spotting the red on the stone. Her mind instantly went into a different mode, her father’s leadership shining through.

“You’re hurt?” She said, approaching the male. How could she miss the scent of copper in the air?

“What got you?” What predators were in the bluestone mountains, let alone near the Dawnstar territory? She frowned, contemplating the potential threats. What were her father have done in this situation? Her head tilted as she appeared lost in thought, before being brought back to reality. “Should I get you to a healer?” She asked cautiously, eyeing the wound.

---

The Spider and his “eyes” locked onto her the moment they caught movement. He smiled genially, if through a wince carefully crafted to appear like he was trying to hide it.

“Ah, you beautiful angel,” he breathed, “I would hate to trouble you so. I was investigating something in the mountains and fell prey to my own clumsiness, that’s all. Never was a strong sort, sadly.”

He sat up straighter, noting her posture and deciding to mimic it rather than play at staying casual. Aside from the tear in his paw pad, he nursed several bruises. It was possible he had a fracture as well, he couldn’t quite tell. “However, I would be lying if I said I didn’t want something looked at, in case of infection. Would I inconvenience you terribly by asking for your aid?”

---

“Your own cluminess?” Melodic Shade shook her head. “I swear it must be a boy thing to always get hurt. You know, my brothers were always getting into a mess of trouble growing up too. I don’t know much about the art of healing, but our pack has quite a few good ones that can take a look at that for you.”

A few of the healers came to mind for Shade. “Do you think you can walk on that, or would it be best if I brought them here to you?” Her first thought was about this male’s health. The second would be of her pack’s safety. He didn’t seem like someone who would be ill willed at this time.
