User Image Soft Shadow was looking for a special herb among the rocks of the mountains she needed to have some on hand in case of certain bites that sometimes occurred. She moved carefully along since she didn't want the rocks below her paws to slip out from under her and send her sliding down the hillside. She was also careful because she knew that these same rocks that she could find her herbs to heal could hide the creatures that caused the illness to begin with. They deserved her respect and she was glad nature had the sense of balance to create an herb that helped her treat the symptoms of the bites.

User Image He was relatively new to the pack. He did not quite know his way around, but he was thankful for the hospitality that was already given. Feathers sighed softly, his bright eyes glancing around the area. Where would he go venture today? He had so much to learn about the pack. Learning about the boundaries and territories, that would be a good spot, no?

The pink nosed male headed towards the hillside. It was a rather rockier terrain, but one Feathers was use to traveling before. He paws were calloused enough to ignore the sharp and roughness of the stone below.

Occasionally he would see a smaller rock, one just big enough to push with his front paws. He’d hit it was such a force the rock would tumble a few feet before him. The male smiled slightly. It was like a kid playing with things they weren’t suppose to.

Soft continued to gather her herbs moving slowly so she didn't startle any of the creatures that lived in these rocks, she tucked the herbs in a bag made by a raccoon when she heard a noise. She frowned and looked up hearing rocks hitting rocks, that was not good. She saw the wolf doing it and she worried they would disturb a creature in the rocks. She moved slowly towards them trying to get their attention without shouting since she didn't want to cause a snake to bite her by frightening it. She frowned and went forward as quickly as she dared but she feared she had a new patient or would in a moment.

Feathers aimed for another rock. Ready, KICK!

The male chuckled, but before he knew it, a small hissing sound came from underneath. Just as the rock flew down the hillside, a small grayish snake eyed jolted from underneath. Feathers had no opportunity to run, before the snake had it’s mouth around his forepaw. Just as quickly as it striked, it released, leaving small puncture wounds in the male’s leg.

“Argh!” he cried out, pulling his paw back. The damage was done already.

Feathers stumbled forward, sliding down the rock path before sitting on the ground. It was only then, he noticed the white she wolf nearby. “W—watch it!” He called out to her. “The rocks bite.”

Soft frowned as she got closer to the fool hearty wolf who had declared that rocks bite. "You fool rocks do not bite, snakes bite and you need to come back to the den with me before you fall down this hillside and get yourself killed." Her soft side was nowhere to be found at the moment since this foolish wolf had put himself in danger and she needed to get him resting in a cool place and give him the herbs. She glared at him what kind of Dawnstar wolf didn't know there were snakes in the mountains she was new and she knew already, then again she had learned the dangers from the other healers.

Feathers ears drooped against his skull as he was scolded. “No one told me this place had things that bit you. They can kill you? Am I gonna die?” Feathers eyes widened as Soft Shadow spoke. “I don’t wanna die.” He was no more of an adult, just aging out of adolescence. “Please,” he pleaded softly.

They had to go to the den? “You can help me there? Can’t you help me right here? Is there anything in that bag? Oh, I don’t know if I can walk to the den on this paw.” He frowned placing the foot on the ground before lifting it straight up. “Owww no. I don’t think I can!”

Soft Shadow thought and she considered what she could do "Maybe we can find a cave in the hillside I want to get you out of the sun where you can rest and I can give you the herbs that will treat your bite, of course, there are snakes we are in the mountains. There are snakes in the forest as well just not as many poisonous ones I suppose." She said considering "No you will not die I am here and I will help you, luckily for you I am a healer of the pack I'm Soft Shadow." She moved the male to hobble along with her so they could find a cool place for him to rest. "Come along let's look for a cool spot." She said gently.

Feathers began to shake slightly. Was it the venom already coursing through his system, taking a hold? “Ohhh, I don’t think I feel too good.” Maybe he was being just a bit overdramatic. It was just a small bite, from a small snake.

“I’m sorry, I…I just don’t know much here. I’m new you see and well…” He was slightly frantic as Soft Shadow spoke.

“Is…Is there a cave nearby? You’re a healer? Ohh,” Luck was on his side! “Okay…Um…lead the way…um…I can’t move…too fast okay? I’m sorry,” Feathers frowned, standing on three of his four paws. He held his injured one up, as he limped forward, following the female.

Soft Shadow nodded and she stayed close to the make she still didn't know his name but that was alright. "Don't worry you will be alright come along, of course you can go slowly." She wasn't rushing him and she spotted a cave quickly and took him inside and she heard water dripping in the cave luck was on her side. "Come along let's clean the wound and I'll put the herbs on your wound." She said softly "I'm pretty new too, but as a healer I had to know the dangers of the mountains."

Feathers nodded, and soon they were safe in the small cave. It was snug to say the least. If another adult wolf wanted to enter, they would surely be met with tighter quarters.

“Oh…you’re new too…? Where…. did you come from? I grew up just South of here, near the Run.” He took slow breaths as the female began to address his wound. “I’m…Feathers…by the way. What is…your name?” He asked the healer, emitting a small gasp. “Why do the snakes have to hide under the rocks,” he sulked.

Soft Shadow didn't mind the small space, she found it rather cozy. "Yes I joined a few months ago." She said softly. "I lived in the forest near the Hallow, but I didn't care for rouge life so I sought out a pack, I met Dream in the forest and he told me about this pack so here I am." She smiled "I'm Soft Shadow." She shook her head and then said "That is their home and they should be respected, you need to move carefully in the mountains and not kick rocks around." She splashed water on his wound and took some herbs out and pressed them on his leg carefully.

Feathers nodded. “I don’t think I’ll be coming up this way anymore.” He found himself grumbling. “Not with those things biting up a storm.” He should respect nature. It would be a lesson that Feathers would learn down the line. He was still young. He had time to learn.

“…Thank you…” The male said softly. “I’ll be more careful next time…” He finally admitted.

“…Do you think this will help? And when can I maybe walk again normally?” If Feathers could, he would turn back time and go back to a few minutes ago, before he started to hit the rocks on the hill.

Soft Shadow shook her head that he would rather stay away from this area then learn from his mistake, but oh well if that was what he wanted to do that was up to him. "I hardly think they are biting up a storm or I wouldn't be able to gather the herbs." She said softly. She knew if she gave them space and respect they would not hurt her. "You are welcome and I am glad you will be more careful next time." She nodded "Yes out course this will help and in a few days it will be like it never happened, I think we should sleep here tonight before heading back to the den so you can rest your leg."

Feathers nodded. He wasn’t going to argue with the healer. “Okay…Will you be here too? I mean…staying in the den? I don’t know how to get back to the main area if you were to leave…I don’t want to get into anymore trouble. Could you stay?” Feathers asked hopefully. A true sign of a barely adult wolf. His mentality still filters between that of a growing pup.

Soft Shadow nodded "Of course I would never leave a patient with a snake bite or other injury, we will stay here we have water we will be fine for the night." She said softly. She would never consider leaving a wounded wolf alone in the mountains.
