Murder in Shiri

Its all over the local news that several high school students were murdered last night, Sunday June 23rd, in the town of Shiri. Rumor has it that it was cannibalism. The names of the students have not been released. The town council is discussing a curfew with the police in order to keep the citizens safe. School is cancelled today and students are urged to remain home.

UDA Agents - Investigate the crime scene.
- Scientists can perform an autopsy on victims. You will discover shards flakes of crystallized energy that matches perfectly with the gate & mage mana...
- Agents can investigate students, mages and attempt to track down prints from the crime scene. You will discover that the culprit is an Empyrean and the victims are vessels.

Vessels - Re-cooperate from a nightmare in any way you can. You heard a strange melody in your sleep that was hypnotic, you wanted to get up and follow it but a white mage stopped you. In your dream, you witnessed your classmate, Nobu Yuki, have his flesh ripped from his bones.

Mages - Tension from instinct makes your hairs stand on the back of your neck. Something is wrong... You have an overwhelming urge to check on your loved ones. After seeing the news, your gut tells you the murderer is not of this world...

Follow the clues and your instincts. Your character has the opportunity to face an Empyrean, gain valuable information or merely spend time with loved ones. You do not have to participate in the event, but you must have your character acknowledge its existence in the way appropriate to your role. Students may enjoy the day off.

Around 6AM Agent Spade visited the UDA Dorms to pull Mage Willow out of bed for an interview on Nobu Yuki's whereabouts. The Mage is in transport back to Z03.

"His story was innocent enough, but two things stuck. Seemed Nobu was hearing things. Something along the lines of a music box chord or singing. The sound was unclear to Nobu and he couldn't describe it to Willow. The Mage never heard it. Also. . . Aru looks sick. Anemic. Nauseous. Lips pale. Palms sweaty. Stomach pains."

Upgrade U.D.A. Bloodhound - Tracking device for pin pointing energy signatures from the Empyrean gate. It could only identify active energy. Now it can see dormant as well! Yay!

▍ ▎ ▏MURDER IN SHIRI UPDATE

!! PUBLIC NETWORK PHONE AMBER ALERT !! One of the attacked students has been identified as Nobu Yuki, a second year student at Shiri Gakuen. Nobu's parents have authorized the release of this information to the public in hope that the police will order a curfew. Nobu was last seen with his friend Tachibana Aru on Sunday while searching for an item Nobu had lost on two miles north of the Kubota Brewery. After questioning Aru, the police believe Yuki was abducted on his way home between the times of 8pm and 9pm. Everyone, especially students, are encouraged to be in doors before 6pm until the culprit is apprehended.

Vessels - Was the dream last night real? Was Nobu Yuki viciously torn apart like you envisioned? What a scary thought! What's even more terrifying... you hear the melody from your dream... Its coming from the north... if you follow it, you may end up at the shoreline.

Mages - The feeling in your gut is getting worse. Your mana is on edge and your powers are hard to control. Aru is a Mage from UDA staying at the dormitory. You may or may not have had relations with him, but he's returned to the facility after hearing the news. Will you stay by the side of your friends to protect them or will you heed the call of UDA to hunt down the Empyrean? [This is an opportunity for Agents & Mages to team up]

Agents - Its been confirmed. This was the work of an Empyrean. Nobu Yuki was torn apart bit by bit while still alive as the Empyrean feasted on his flesh. Agents have been ordered to be in the company of a Mage while investigating the area where Nobu disappeared. Weapons have been deemed mandatory for this mission. Scientists have been ordered to figure out why there are crystalline shards of mana in the vessel and to investigate it further. Could it be weaponized? Can it be harvested? Is it a needed sustenance for Empyreans? Find out now.

Scientists: There are wrong and right answers, however nothing is predetermined. Whoever comes up with the most plot-pleasing theory to the mystery gets the cake.

▍ ▎ ▏MURDER IN SHIRI FINAL

!! NEWS IN SHIRI !! It is confirmed that the nasty rumors surrounding student Nobu Yuki's death were wild tales spun by reporters looking for attention. The cause of the his death is that of a Wild Boar. Student Tachibana Aru confessed to teasing the wild creature with his friend after school the evening of the disappearance. He was not aware the creature had followed their trail from the woods, tracking down Nobu and attacking after the pair had split up to return home. In response to this event, UDA has sponsored a School Camping Trip to better educate students about nature and the need to respect it. The trip will take place July 2nd, 2X10. Those not attending the trip will have a three day study hall and must write a five page essay on local wildlife, fauna and flora.

Vessels - It is confirmed now that Kabuto Ikki and Ginma Masaaki have an energy signature similar to a Mage. However, it is dormant and hidden within their bodies in crystalline form undetectable by modern science. It is confirmed they both have a Bond with a mage, allowing them immunity to their counterpart's spells [Soul Bond Ability Officially Unlocked & Recognized]. Nobu's Shards, recovered by Masaaki, have been brought to the lab for further research.

Mages - It is confirmed that Saito Eris has further developed her skills allowing her to the following spells; Primary Telekenisis, Object Manipulation and Psionic Healing. While she can use these abilities with her own mana, they become more powerful when she is linked with Kabuto Ikki. It was confirmed that Haruno Mika also unlocked new abilities as well, but their affects were only temporary and she can not cast them again. Currently, her arsenal entails Seismic Sonar and Charged Spark until she can overcome the obstacle keeping her from using the other abilities from the event.

Agents - Footage of event is accessible through the UDA archives. Review and analyze all that you can. Report any theories or findings to the Facility Manager. Operatives are requested to develop a new tactical response plan when encountering an Empyrean. Scientists are asked to summarize and explain energy signatures during the battle. Doctors are charged with explaining the physiological changes during the cocooning stage. All agents have access to the shards under strict security measures. They are open for experimentation and possible weaponizing.
