A few years ago, computer scientist Dr. Chris Harrison in collaboration with Christoph Römhild, a Lutheran pastor, created a remarkable computer visualization of 63,779 of the about 340,000 cross-references found in the Bible (see a visualization of all 340,000 cross-references here). A cross-reference is a note placed alongside scripture that references another scripture; it provides a more full, whole Bible view on a verse or theme (similar to how articles on Wikipedia all reference and interlink each other in a vast web of knowledge).
