Green Inannath

Origin of Name: Inannath, from the ancient Mesopotamian goddess associated with love, beauty, sex, war, justice and political power, Inanna.

Inspiration: The Deadly Sin of Lust

Lust, or lechery (Latin: luxuria (carnal)), is intense longing. It is usually thought of as intense or unbridled sexual desire, which may lead to fornication (including adultery), rape, bestiality and other sinful sexual acts. However, lust could also mean other forms of unbridled desire, such as for money or power. Henry Edward Manning says the impurity of lust transforms one into "a slave of the devil".

Dante defined lust as the disordered love for individuals. It is generally thought the least serious capital sin as it is an abuse of a faculty that humans share with animals, and sins of the flesh are less grievous than spiritual sins.

In Dante's Purgatorio, the penitent walks within flames to purge himself of lustful thoughts and feelings. In Dante's Inferno, unforgiven souls guilty of lust are eternally blown about in restless hurricane-like winds symbolic of their own lack of self-control of their lustful passions in earthly life.

The Latin for extravagance (Latin: luxuria) was used by St Jerome to translate a variety of biblical sins, including drunkenness and sexual excess. Gregory the Great placed luxuria as one of the seven capital sins (it is often considered the least serious of the seven deadly sins), narrowing its scope to disordered desire, and it was in this sense that the Middle Ages generally took luxuria, (although the Old French cognate was adopted into English as luxury without its sexual meaning by the 14th century.

Personality: A self-indulgent creature, Inannath does not suffer from any sense of self-restraint. Rather, she would prefer to glut herself on all of the good thing in life. Just as the original Sin of Lust, Inannath's appetites are not purely sexual; her sense of sensuality extends beyond that to the choicest of herdbeast and wherries, to the indulgence in long and luxurious baths, to wrapping herself up with a loved one. Anything and everything that is fine can find itself in Inannath's purview. Her rider will have a shell of a time keeping up with her fine tastes.

She is hardly the first dragon to enjoy such things, after all, and will expect nothing but the best that life has to offer. Inannath is not an ambitious creature. Really, she is here to revel in all of the wonders of life, and having a rank would surely get in the way of that. Besides which, as she grows older she will find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sight of those bold bronze and brown dragons that tend to fill the top roles... and those lovely queens, too. Why fight for a piece of the pie when she can have an entire smorgasbord to herself?

If she's up like clockwork every three months, that is just another way to indulge herself. Why should she not be, indeed? Although she might choose to chase others from time to time, it is being chased that serves Inannath the best. This is because she can determine for herself the length of the Flight, and will certainly be at the center of attention whilst in the air. This is where she wants to be, and if she doesn't mind allowing others to follow their own pleasures at the same time, well... it should come as no surprise.

With an appetite for everything, Inannath will also certainly leap at the chance to simmer in rage against Threadfall. Suffusing herself in righteous anger, she will undoubtedly be quite a terror when it comes time to testing her mettle. That said, she does not enjoy being injured, and will certainly make that known if her precious hide is scored or burnt. Such a thing should not ever happen to Inannath, in her own opinion. Prone to excess on every level, this green will surely make much of any injury she receives, and expect to be fussed over, hand and foot.

Positive Traits: Sensual, Enthralling, Ardent
Negative Traits: Hedonistic, Sulky, Excessive

Egg: A small 90s Picture Day egg

Adult Size: 42'
Physical Attributes: Though precisely of the same length as her twin sister, Inannath has a softer yet supple build. She is longer in the tail than her sister, and no less lovely.

Additional Notes: Woe betide the rider not prepared to find him or herself falling in and out of many beds. Inannath will Rise as often as possible, and has a wide range of taste, so will certainly twine necks with a number of different dragons over the Turns. That is unless she finds herself headknobs over tail for a certain someone, whomever that might be. However, capturing her hearts would be equally as important as keeping up with her very strong appetite, and no less a challenge. In Threadfall she will be quite keen, though inclined to prolonged sulking if she is ever wounded.

Impression Effect: Strange as it may be to say it, Remdianori is likely to always look a little disheveled, but in an alluring way. He will have perfected the 'just out of bed' look, and may find it easy to 'just get into bed' with his partner or partners of choice. The effect of his and Inannath's combined charisma will be eye catching indeed, and is bound to make his life interesting.

Why Me? To be frank, Inannath wanted a rider who could keep up with her. Remdianori is that very person, and he will find himself with his hands full. Especially once Inannath is old enough to notice those of the opposite and same sex, he will have his work cut out for him keeping her in line. It's just possible that Remdianori might not even mind her insatiability. But of course Inannath's indulgence could not be satisfied with mere carnal desire; he need also concern himself with coming up with enough marks to fulfill her lust for luxuries. Fortunately, he comes packed with an ability that will provide the dragonet with endless entertainment: his artistic talent. Prone to enjoying beauty in all of its forms, Inannath will surely be enthralled by his drawings.

They are both energetic and hedonistic, possessing a particular talent for provocation which will no doubt grow in time. Together they will become a force of nature, where another rider might have tempered the green's energy. Inannath did not want to be tempered, and knows very well that Remdianori will probably enable her to pursue all of her wants, whatever shape those might take. Fortunately, he needn't wait any longer, for this green has found the perfect partner in crime. Watch out, Weyr!

Green Invidiath

User Image

Origin of Name: Invidiath, from the Roman goddess Invidia - the goddess of envy and retribution, whose Greek counterpart was Nemesis. She would later become the deadly sin of Envy.

Inspiration: The Deadly Sin of Envy

Envy (Latin: invidia), like greed and lust, is characterized by an insatiable desire. It can be described as a sad or resentful covetousness towards the traits or possessions of someone else. It arises from vainglory, and severs a man from his neighbor.

Malicious envy is similar to jealousy in that they both feel discontent towards someone's traits, status, abilities, or rewards. A difference is that the envious also desire the entity and covet it. Envy can be directly related to the Ten Commandments, specifically, "Neither shall you covet ... anything that belongs to your neighbour"—a statement that may also be related to greed. Dante defined envy as "a desire to deprive other men of theirs". In Dante's Purgatory, the punishment for the envious is to have their eyes sewn shut with wire because they gained sinful pleasure from seeing others brought low. According to St. Thomas Aquinas, the struggle aroused by envy has three stages: during the first stage, the envious person attempts to lower another's reputation; in the middle stage, the envious person receives either "joy at another's misfortune" (if he succeeds in defaming the other person) or "grief at another's prosperity" (if he fails); the third stage is hatred because "sorrow causes hatred".

Envy is said to be the motivation behind Cain murdering his brother, Abel, as Cain envied Abel because God favored Abel's sacrifice over Cain's.

Bertrand Russell said that envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness, bringing sorrow to committers of envy whilst giving them the urge to inflict pain upon others.

In accordance with the most widely accepted views, only pride weighs down the soul more than envy among the capital sins. Just like pride, envy has been associated directly with the devil, for Wisdom 2:24 states: "the envy of the devil brought death to the world".

Personality: Excuse you, move over! This spotlight belongs to none other than Invidiath! There is no room in the inn for anyone but her, and everything belongs to this green. Or rather, it should. From the very beginning, she has been keenly aware of her metallic siblings' efforts to wrest the throne from her grasping claws. It is not fair that they are adored while she, the most worthy of all beings, is not immediately kowtowed to. Doesn't she deserve it? She is amazing, stupendous - glorious. The best of the best, the cream of the crop. If anyone cannot see that, then that is their mistake, and possibly a fatal one.

For those who give Invidiath her proper due, she can be an obliging creature, but she will be jealous of their attention and their company. Sharing is not in her nature. Although she fully expects to have everything and everyone, the same cannot be said in reverse - if someone who was clearly marked as her own (and anyone might be said to belong to Invidiath) and decided to stray into another's claws, she would be utterly unforgiving. Of course, that would be up until they cajoled her properly into the right mood. She can bend when given proper tribute.

Naturally intelligent and crafty, Invidiath will do whatever she has to to establish and maintain her place among High Reaches Weyr. Though she is a green, she might well have been hatched with a more sparkly hide, if not for a trick of fate. Don't think that she is not exceedingly conscious of being deprived of what should have been her hatch right. Oh, if she could only have been a queen, all would have been right in the world. It's all hers, it's all hers, it's HERS! She particularly covets what is not hers, however, and would go to almost any length to secure someone or something that belonged to a brother or more commonly a sister.

Anyone who fell to her charms would not be disappointed... at least not at first. She can be tender and loving when she's in the right mood, and will shower affection on those who please her. Stray outside of what she views acceptable, however, and you will see a whole other side of Invidiath. Those who betray her will be met with utter resentment and reproach from the green. She can and will turn a cold shoulder upon anyone who has wronged her, and they will certainly know that they have done so. She can be quite dramatic when it comes to express that sense of bereft loss. Those who stick by her, however, can hope to bring out the best in her in the form of true loyalty and devotion. For indeed, Invidiath is capable of near unparalleled love.

Her love might be considered worth all of the trouble, in the end. Invidiath is a very charming creature, and capable of flattering others if it will get her what she wants. If she cannot sit on the throne itself, she would love nothing more than to be the power behind the throne. Failing that, she will settle for being universally adored. Anything less would be intolerable, and Invidiath can and will fight to keep what she views as her deserved quality of life. Even if she does tend to throw away unwanted toys she will be jealously protective of them if someone else were to notice them. She'll take steps to secure them yet again, and may very well succeed.

Positive Traits: Entrancing, Aspiring, Ingenious
Negative Traits: Covetous, Artful, Jaded

Egg: A medium Blue Moon egg

Adult Size: 37'
Physical Attributes: A small yet solidly built green, Invidiath is nevertheless a beauty. She is fully aware of this fact, and makes use of her flashy wings to catch the eyes of others in a Flight.

Additional Notes: It will be difficult for this green to decide on a favorite, as there are so many fine dragons out there. However, she does tend to prefer those who 'belong' to others, envious as she is. Landing Invidiath's hearts will be quite a challenge, but belonging to her is a breeze. Those up to the challenge will find themselves with quite the fervent admirer, should they be successful, but beware - too many looks at other dragons will get them in hot water quickly.

Impression Effect: The pain and fear of her first Hatching will never again haunt Miela. In place of any feelings of unworthiness will be a knowledge that she was and is so much more than she ever thought possible. Her scars and glass eye will add to her beauty, not detract from it, in the way of so many riders before her. She is part of a select group, and never need feel strange or lacking.

Why Me? This Impression was decided when Miela put her hand on Invidiath's egg. It was then that the little green knew that they were perfect for one another. Although one might take Invidiath lightly as a green, she is a force to be reckoned with, and with Miela at her side there will be few hurdles they cannot leap together. There may be a limit to their ability to climb up into the upper echelons of the Weyr - at least one the surface - but clever Invidiath knows that they can pull the strings from the shadows. If not those of the Weyrleadership, then certainly they can aspire to one day be assistant Candidatemasters or Weyrlingmasters, or even bend the ear of a Wingleader or two. Dearest Miela, Invidiath knew that you were worthy with her entire hearts, and will spend every day from now on ensuring that you know it too.

Green Lufianth
Written by Uta
Colored by Uta

User Image

Origin of Name: Lufianth's name is based on the Old English word lufian "to feel love for, cherish, show love to; delight in, approve," which is part of the eymology for the word "love".

Inspiration: The Virtue of Love

Personality: Lufianth is a green with hearts that might well encompass all of Pern. She is truly her mother's daughter, with a heart that is overflowing with pure, unadulterated love. To say she is loving is an understatement; rarely will this green look upon another with an unkind heart, or with venom in her words. She is the sort of dragon who believes that she was hatched to share her hearts with all those she meets--to love them, to support them, to care for them, no matter how they feel about her in return. She might not have the metallic sheen of her mother, or size of her father, but her capacity to love is endless. She loves you, and she means it.

Ever compassionate in nature, this dragon has no problem getting out there and reaching out to those who need it most. She will not hesitate to find those who are on the outskirts or otherwise looked down upon, and cozy on up. She will find good in the darkest hearts, and be the pillar of strength for those who need a shoulder to cry upon. There is no being on Pern too big, or too small, too aloof, or too broken, for Lufianth not to try to want to connect with.

Selfless in everything she does, Lufianth is the sort of dragon who will run herself ragged by trying to be everything to everyone. She is a selfless being, who would gladly give up her own happiness and comforts only to ensure the happiness of those around her. Unfortunately, she takes this to the extreme, and can be considered self-sacrificing. Lufianth will not hesitate to throw herself in harms way, to ensure her clutchmates and wingmates need not suffer; if ever a dragon were to give their life during Threadfall, Lufianth would be it. While she would never purposefully risk her rider, during the heat of battle, this green might very well sacrifice herself without thinking of the consequences or how she might hurt herself, her rider, or even her fellows.

Lufianth is also known to be an emotional creature. She is driven less by logic and thought and more by her feelings. She is driven by how she feels, and how she perceives others to be feeling; she lets her emotions rule everything she does, which can and will cause problems. She will get equally wrapped up in great passion, just as she might great sadness, great guilt, or great fear. Lufianth isn't a dragon who hides her emotions and though she is most often driven by love, she feels the full spectrum, and is often blinded by such things. Her grief over the injury of a beloved clutchmate could result in her forgetting her own place within the wing and lead to disaster; her joy at a friends happiness might cause her to miss important instruction from a Wingleader; and her a night of passion during a flight might have her think nothing else of said blue or brown, to the exclusion of all else. Her emotions will drive her, and it will be up to Hers to ensure they can be tempered.

Lastly, Lufianth, for all her love and care, is a rather dependent creature. She does not do well alone, and hates to be without Hers. She is like a leaf on the wind, and when others are not around her, she struggles. She is almost entirely dependent on Hers to make the decisions and be a voice of reason; there are times when her feelings certainly sustain her, but those feelings are only stirred by others. When she is alone, she is quite a helpless and pathetic thing, indeed; she is very much a green who would much rather be curled up in a group of haters, than be settled safely alone. While some dragons are known to be independent, Lufianth is not one of them-- she will always need Hers to take care of her, to help think for her, and to help support her. She is full of love and goodness, but there's more to life than feelings, and sweet Lufianth will need to be spoon-fed all the support and direction she can get.

Positive Traits: Compassionate, Selfless, Loving
Negative Traits: Self-Sacrificing, Dependent, Emotional

Egg: A small 90s Picture Day egg that's soft as velvet to the touch.

Adult Size: 42'
Physical Attributes: Lufianth is staunchly a small dragon, though by no means as delicate or petite as some of her green kin. Her frame is delicate, and her legs short with small wrists, and a short tail. Her headknobs are longer for a dragon her size, and her eyes cloyingly large. She is quite swift on wing, but only in short bursts, as her stamina is in short supply.

Additional Notes: Lufianth will come to enjoy flights, but chasers beware; she reads far too much into what her pursers feel and will often confuse a night of passion, or sweet temptation, into something long-term. Truly, Lufianth wants to find a love that will last the ages, something the Harpers are moved to write tales about--and each boy who catches her is always thought to finally be The One. She has a great capacity to love, which could also turn her, ever so inadvertently, into a heartbreaker, until her hearts are well and truly captured.

Though she would never admit it, Lufianth does have a strong-preference for bronzes. Love is love is love is love, certainly, but she can't help but be tempted by the idea of a large, strong, powerful, glittering man and all that he might offer a delicate lady like herself.

Impression Effect: Dehka will find himself with newfound self-assurance and confidence, due to Lufianth's love and support. He was socially awkward before Impression, especially or perhaps in part due to his strained relationship with Kahbrohm-- but all of that will be washed tenderly away by Lufianth's endless support and belief in him. He will never need doubt himself, or his place again.

P.S. Dehka may start noticing bronzeriders too... and be noticed by them in return. -wink wonk-

Why Me? Dehka and Lufianth are cut of the same cloth. This green needed someone who was empathetic and compassionate so as to relate to her tender hearts--and who better out there than sweet, and good-natured Dehka. Oh, the green knows she is not a bronze like Meigth--but perhaps he might adore her all the same? Surely, there is no pair in High Reaches Weyr who will be so tender, or so kind, as these two.

They are both a self-sacrificing pair, and have a mutual desire to protect their loved ones no matter the cost to themselves. This love will mutually benefit both of them, as much as it might harm them. Lufianth will stand up against even the most fearsome of queens should her rider come under their scrutiny, and it's clear Dehka would not tolerate his green being used or abused by those in High Reaches who might well do her harm. They will be one another's biggest supporters, even as they work together to protect those who cannot protect themeslves. Thread will fall, and this green pair will do what they can to save those that they can--even if that means putting themselves in harm's way. While neither rider nor dragon would willingly put the other at risk intentionally, it is possible they could push themselves beyond their limits, or injure themselves for the sake of duty.

Dependent in nature, Lufianth will cling to Dehka, even as a full-grown adult. Thankfully, where some might reproach their dragons or easily-grow annoyed at their neediness, there is hope sweet Dehka will become just as smitten. He's always been a huge fan of dragons and geeked out about their clutch charts while waiting to find His--perhaps he will become equally obsessed with his most precious and darling green. For Lufianth will look upon him with rose-colored glasses, and see a man without fault.

His quick-thinking and determined nature might help keep Lufianth from falling to pieces in a time of crises. She is a sweet green, but her hearts are tender, and her feelings quick to bruise. She will feel things keenly, and will require her rider to help pull her through. If not, it's fully possible for catastrophe to strike by missing a Wingleader's command, or not visualizing ones coordinates in the heat of an emotionally-charged moment.

If Dehka can manage to temper that, there is no doubt these two will become a reliable and welcome pair in any Wing.

Green Metisoth
Written by Uta
Colored by Zaikt

User Image

Origin of Name: Metisoth derives her name from the Greek Titan, Metis. She was the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys; therefore, she was considered an Oceanid. She was the first wife of Zeus, and became the goddess of wisdom, prudence and deep thought.

Inspiration: The Heavenly Virtue of Prudence

Prudence (Latin: prudentia, contracted from providentia meaning "seeing ahead, sagacity" ) is the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason. It is classically considered to be a virtue, and in particular one of the four Cardinal virtues (which are, with the three theological virtues, part of the seven virtues). Prudentia is an allegorical female personification of the virtue, whose attributes are a mirror and snake, who is frequently depicted as a pair with Justitia, the Roman goddess of Justice.

The word derives from the 14th-century Old French word prudence, which, in turn, derives from the Latin prudentia meaning "foresight, sagacity". It is often associated with wisdom, insight, and knowledge. In this case, the virtue is the ability to judge between virtuous and vicious actions, not only in a general sense, but with regard to appropriate actions at a given time and place. Although prudence itself does not perform any actions, and is concerned solely with knowledge, all virtues had to be regulated by it. Distinguishing when acts are courageous, as opposed to reckless or cowardly, is an act of prudence, and for this reason it is classified as a cardinal (pivotal) virtue.

In modern English, the word has become increasingly synonymous with cautiousness. In this sense, prudence names a reluctance to take risks, which remains a virtue with respect to unnecessary risks, but, when unreasonably extended into over-cautiousness, can become the vice of cowardice.

In the Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle gives a lengthy account of the virtue phronesis (Ancient Greek: ϕρόνησις), traditionally translated as "prudence", although this has become increasingly problematic as the word has fallen out of common usage. More recently ϕρόνησις has been translated by such terms as "practical wisdom", "practical judgment" or "rational choice".

Personality: Metisoth is a green dragon who knows how to keep her wits about her. She was seemingly hatched with an old soul and a nature that is wise beyond her Turns. Where some experiences might surprise her clutchmates, Metisoth seems to hold her own. Very little catches her off-guard, and when she is genuinely surprised, she'll absorb the experience and learn from it. She is a green who listens to her elders, and is often caught tending to her clutchmates. While they play, she might observe, or give direction and order. If ever there was a little mother of the clutch, this green might well be it.

On the one hand, her wisdom grants her understanding. Her clutchmates might come to her pained, but Metisoth will be able to bring just the right amount of comfort or give them whatever sort of care they might need. Her understanding allows her to listen, and better yet, allows her to give practical advice. She isn't the sort of dragon who lets her emotions rule her, and much prefers to consider each and every situation as it arises. In fact, Metisoth might well be considered too practical. She isn't the sort of green who has great passions, and when she does, she certainly refuses to let them rule them. No, instead, she will wait until the most perfect moment to make her move or take her stand and only then will she act.

Rest assured though, when Metisoth does decide to act, she will not hesitate or change her mind. She is the sort of dragon who makes decisions and follows them through--no matter the consequence. Metisoth likes to think she knows best, because in many situations this green does--but her actions are not always driven by good. She might be merciful to someone who wronged her, but she would never allow herself to be taken advantage of; she might consider to take a risky move during Threadfall, but would never, ever, allow herself to fall into some sort of reckless behavior. No, Metisoth is the sort of green who keeps herself tempered, and never does anything rashly, or with great haste.

Unfortunately, for all the good Metisoth can accomplish, she is not without her flaws. Her maternal and practical nature allow her to do great good, but it also can make her rather bossy and demanding. She is the sort of green who likes to care for her clutchmates, but that means telling them when they should restrain from something, or forcing her will upon them. She might be but a green, but she is not afraid of any color within the Weyr. Her care can easily be misplaced. While she is usually trying to look out for their well-being, she can stifle those around her by not allowing them to do things differently than she.

Worse, because she often enjoys the advantage of learning quickly, or knowing how to behave or act in a certain setting, Metisoth can easily come off as a know-it-all. Her way is often the right way, but it is by no means the only way. This isn't something the green often considers, and her rider will need to try to temper her. If not, she might well alienate some of her clutchmates early on or fail to connect with them.

Ultimately, Metisoth is a very good green. She wants the best for Hers, and her clutchmates, but she will need help connecting with them. She is not their mother, and things don't always have to be seen in a purely practical light.

Positive Traits: Maternal, Wise, Decisive
Negative Traits: Unbending, Know-It-All, Demanding

Egg: A small Avocado egg

Adult Size: 46'
Physical Attributes: Metisoth is neither too big, nor too small. She falls firmly in the middle as far as her weight and height happen to be, and is distinctly a very average green. She doesn't mind though, and is more than happy to be a classic, textbook case. This gives her the advantage of having the best of both worlds -- she is swift and agile, but not so small as to suffer when the fighting gets rough; nor is she too big to become an easier target. She is just right.

Additional Notes: Metisoth is a green who will fuss over her clutchmates, littles, and anyone who might be in need. She truly is a maternal sort, despite being a fighting dragon. She may yearn for eggs all her own, but she knows it's an impractical desire, and will keep it locked up tight in her hearts.

As far as flights go, Metisoth is very practical about the whole affair. She claims her preferences have no bearing on the outcome, and will instead choose the dragon who truly outperforms all the rest. That said, in terms of love, it is very possible Metisoth might find herself pining over a dragon who can get under her skin. Opposites attract, of course... and while Metisoth claims she would rather a practical match, it's also possible she might fall for someone who hasn't an ounce of practicality at all.

Impression Effect: Never again will Kinye ever need to fear that she is not doing enough, for as a fighting greenrider of Pern, she will be every bit as much of a hero as her dragon. Possessed with the increased confidence that only Impression can lend, Kinyegele is well on her way to becoming a woman in her own right. What fears she may have had will be instantly soothed. If anything, she will become even more herself than she has ever been before: sunshine incarnate.

Why Me? Oh dear sweet Kinyelege, Metisoth longs for nothing more than to take the best of care of you. This caring and maternal green will be ever so happy to tuck her rider under her wings - just as soon as she is large enough to do so. Fully as clever as any of the larger colors, Metisoth's wisdom will temper Kinye's trusting nature. Where Kinye might struggle to see what is before her very eyes, Metisoth will not fail to see exactly what another is trying to do to her rider. No longer will Kinyegele be so easy to take advantage of. A very clever girl indeed, Metisoth wanted and needed a rider who would appreciate all that she is. She is pushy, and could be at risk of overpowering her rider, but Kinye's innocence and sensitivity will keep this somewhat in check. For indeed, Metisoth would never want to harm her rider, and she'll never ever emulate anyone who might have pushed Kinyegele around.

Green Shandath
Written by Uta
Colored by Zaikt

User Image

Origin of Name: Shandath takes her name from the Shona language for the word work, which is shanda.

Inspiration: The Virtue of Diligence

Diligence—carefulness and persistent effort or work—is one of the seven heavenly virtues. It is indicative of a work ethic, the belief that work is good in itself.

Personality: Shandath is a green who appreciates a hard's day work. She is a green who hatched knowing her place, knowing what was expected of her, and ready to give her all for High Reaches Weyr. To say she's hard-working is almost an understatement--she is the sort of dragon who will make work rather than let herself be idle. She will throw herself into weyrling training with gusto, and will make sure to nudge her more lazy and idle siblings should she notice them slacking in their duties. She is the sort of green who lives to work, and she likes it. To her, it isn't a burden--what stresses this green out is when the work is done, and her time is her own.

Shandath, unfortunately, puts her own worth in doing a job well done. A known workaholic, she is the sort of dragon who will burn the midnight oil just to accomplish a task. She will become uncomfortable when a project is left unfinished, and unfortunately, will blame herself if the results of her work are found wanting. Errors and mistakes greatly upset her, and she will become obsessed with correcting them, or prooving that the fault isn't with her or her work.

Shandath is a green with a one-track mind, and it usually has to do with whatever task she's been handed. She isn't the sort of green who is known to multitask since her focus is on achieving one goal at a time. She is almost obsessive with her need to accomplish tasks, and her rider will need to try to help break up this obsession. There is more to life than work, no matter how good or important a deed. There's also more to Shandath than work; she is valid and competent and needed more than simply being a workhorse. It's not something this green will easily see, especially after making a mistake, or failing to finish a task.

Due to her work ethic, Shandath will make an excellent Threadfigher, and an excellent asset to the Weyr. She is a disciplined green, who knows how to steel her resolve when the going gets tough, or sit on her wings when she's rearing to go but has been told to wait. She might not like having to do certain things, but she has the willpower and restraint of any queen. When she is put to a task, she will not yield until it is seen through 'til the end. She is the sort of dragon who will never give up, and will never surrender. Just because something doesn't work, or she fails at a new task the first time, doesn't mean she will despair. Not, when the going gets tough, Shandath gets going all the harder, and with all the more resolve.

While this will have her recieving many accolades, there is another problem with Shandath, and it tends to tie back to her personality. She is serious as far as dragons go, and while her cluchmates might be known to have fun, Shandath would prefer to be alert, and diligent. Humor tends to fall flat with Shandath, and while she is known to be a good green, she isn't always the most sociable. No one will ever mistake her to be the life of the party.
In fact, parties aren't something she would want to participate in anyway.
Everything is serious business to Shandath, and she isn't known to be silly. It will take a special someone indeed to get the green to relax, or enjoy the simpler things in life.

Positive Traits: Hard-Working, Persistent, Disciplined
Negative Traits: Workaholic, Single-Minded, Grave

Egg: A medium Rainbow egg whose shell feels leathery and thick to the touch.

Adult Size: 53'
Physical Attributes: Shandath is a large dragon, to no one's surprise, and enjoys being one of the larger greens in the clutch. She is shaped more like a blue or brown, with broad shoulders, stocky limbs, and a weight to her that's made up of raw muscle. She's a strong dragon, though not as limber as some of her more delicate sisters. Her stamina and strength have her fighting more like the larger blues and browns--but her agility suffers greatly for it.

Her head is blocky, her tail is shorter than usual, but she makes for a commanding presence.

Additional Notes: Shandath will always prefer the company of her sisters than her fellow male clutchmates. She will be a known tomboy, embracing her life as a fighter from the very beginning. Once she finds a pretty face to work hard for, you can bet this lady will have no problems giving her love the world. No ask is too much for this green.

In terms of Threadfighting, Shandath will be a beast, and will relish the fight. She also understands the work that comes before and after Fall, and will always volunteer herself and Hers when it comes to additional sweeps, or helping to pick up the slack in the Wing. All Shandath wants to do is do good work, and Hers will have quite the fight when it comes to getting this green to relax.

Impression Effect: While Jemaselle will never be considered a beauty, there is undoubtedly something about her. Maybe it's her confidence. Maybe it's her way of spinning words. Whatever it is, those around her will find her presence unaccountably inspiring.

Why Me? If the Weyr is looking for a hardworking pair, they need look no further than Shandath and Jemaselle. Each of them possesses a will to overcome challenges, and an innate stamina. Shandath is the embodiment of diligence, and it's a good thing that Jemaselle has a touch of fun to bring to their partnership. When she is old enough to fly, she will certainly gladly be the back from which her rider springs, finding a sense of fun and adventure with her rider. There is a time and a place for such things, and Shandath could do with a bit of unwinding. She is very serious minded, and Jemaselle's thrill seeking ways might pull her a bit out of her shell. They might even help her to socialize a bit more easily with her clutch, which would serve them both well as they learn how to fit into society.
