Personality: Jiji is a strange child. Solemn and withdrawn in almost all things, he denies chances to connect with others due to a deep seated distrust of creating connections. Once a child of loving parents, he is now an orphan with a ruthless will to live. He feels that making friends is simply a way to give others a better position to stab him in the back. Taken by the UHV when he was ten, he spent 4 years of his life as a child soldier which stunted his emotional growth. This has resulted in an inability to read situations or emotions properly, causing him to struggle with how to react. This also has caused him to abhor violence, forsaking any weapon, and an attempt at rejecting a place among shinobi as best he can.

Strengths:
• Objectivity : Because Jiji believes in absolute detachment, he is very good at judging situations that might otherwise be complicated by favoritism or dislike. This is not to be confused with his total inability to form social connections.
• All seeing : Thanks to his sensor class, Jiji is excellent at observing and detecting people/objects/jutsus.
Weaknesses:
• Socially awkward : Jiji missed much of the chance to form social connections and to learn social do’s and don’t’s. As such, he is not very good at making small talk or at fitting in with others in a social setting.
• Semi-illiterate : Jiji didn’t get to attend much schooling before his abduction by the UHV. He has been teaching himself to read but it is slow going and he sometimes needs people to read for him.

• Connecting with others : Jiji sees connections as merely opportunities to be betrayed by those one comes to care about. As such, connecting with others, forming relationships, etc., is his greatest fear as it is, in his mind, the greatest threat to one’s life.

• Glass lotus : the last gift he got from his mother, Jiji carries a miniature glass lotus in a padded box on his person. The lotus is only the size of a penny and so the box fits in his pocket.
• Rusty dagger : this is not a weapon anymore. This dagger is dull, covered in rust and stained with old blood, and is a reminder to Jiji of his crime. It is kept in a secure sheath and will shatter if used in any manner.
• Dirty toy rabbit : a small toy rabbit that hangs out of the side of his bag, this belonged to his sister. It is old and has mismatched pieces that have been used to patch it up.

Jiko Mitsu’s village was not a large one. Very few shinobi came from his village and of those, most left to go make their own way in a larger village. Jiko was the oldest child of two, with a younger sister, and had two loving parents. His family had ties to greater shinobi, though they were only able to really boast of these connections without any actual proof. These boasts, however, proved to be a fatal mistake for the family. As the UHV began to gather power and take over small villages, they came to Jiko’s villages. Now an occupied village, their lives started to go downhill. The UHV always said they were taking over for the better of the shinobi world. But their tactics were cruel, withholding food, press ganging orphans into joining their cause. As the village continued to be abused, Jiko’s family spoke out against the cruelty, with devastating consequences. First, the father of their family began to notice that his place of work was being boycotted. This lack of income resulted in a food shortage for the family. Then Jiko’s mother began to suffer from the lack of food, her health beginning to deteriorate rapidly to the point that she was bedridden. And the final blow was his little sister. Caught stealing to get food for their mother, she was imprisoned by UHV at only 6yrs old. Taking matters into his own hands, Jiko appealed to the UHV and was informed that if his family was to be redeemed, he would have to join up. Agreeing in exchange for money and for his family, Jiko returns home one last time. There, he tells his parents what he’s done as the UHV returns his sister and waits to take him. Aghast at his tactics, his parents scorn and ridicule him while his little sister cries. Before he can speak or comfort his sister, the UHV dragged him off to be a child soldier.
With the eventual loss of power the UHV suffered, Jiko was able to desert and return to his village. However, he discovered that more tragedy had befallen his family in his absence. His mother was a cold corpse in the ground, having gorged on so much food after being starved for so long that she died of it. His father had turned to alcohol and addiction, selling his daughter, Jiko’s little sister, to supply his habit. His little sister, he finds, has also died, abused and neglected by the drug dealers she was sold to. Incensed and infuriated with his father, Jiko kills him and then flees the village. Now traveling as a rogue, with the basic skills provided to him by the UHV, Jiko seeks to find a way to make sense of this world.
