KayaLing I already knew what my Chinese and Western Zodiac are, but it's interesting to find out more information about it with that link to Chinese calendar converter.
gaia_star Chinese Date: Jia-Wu(Horse) (4th month), 29, 4689 ---- 4th Month of the year 4689 is not a leap month
gaia_star Chinese Year Name: Xin Wei(Sheep)
gaia_star Element: metal
gaia_star Planet: Mars

gaia_star Yin/Yang: Yin
gaia_star Birth Stone: Aquamarine (I find this one weird since I've always thought that June's birth stone was either pearl, alexandrite, or moonstone.)
Hi Kaya, when I found the Chinese Calendar Converter last year I knew that it was the perfect choice. I agree with you that June's birthstone is either Moonstone or Pearl. Over the years I have found over a dozen different lists for birthstones. The lists are different due to when they were created, what country, the application (like jewelry), Zodiac and many more.
As a Rock / Mineral collector I go by the same "Traditional" list that I have used since I was a kid. My own Birthstones are Tourmaline and Opal (October). I go by Green Tourmaline but the powers that be (Jewelers) want to go with Pink Tourmaline, Oh I have an argument with my Mom sometimes because she says her December birthstone is Blue Topaz. On my list it's Turquoise. |

I've also tried the Mayan calendar one, especially after visiting Mexico a few years back. That one is also pretty interesting. Perhaps, we could share that for next year as well?
Oh, I see~ I didn't consider that there was more than one list for birth stones. o.o That's cool though!
Oh, sweet! I've also have an interest in rocks, gemstones, and the like as a kid. I don't have a huge collection, but I think I have a very small collection lying around somewhere at my parents' place? Wherever and whenever possible, I usually collect a rock or stone of some sort from places that I had visited. I then give it to my grandma as a keepsake. As a kid, I also used to collect a lot of rocks from my grandma's driveway, my parents' driveway, and the river in city that I currently reside in. According to my grandma, one of my older female cousins did the same thing, which I think is pretty neat! |
