Kameyo's hope wasn't extinguished when the Jashinist struck her final heart. The world was rendered colorless as the heart was punctured clean, and Kameyo could only imagine how much of a wreck she looked, her tendrils too tied up to mend her open back. It's not too late, Kameyo thought as she fell to the ground. She was very distantly conscious of what was happening, for it took a long time for a Jiongu to die after the loss of five hearts, but she was unable to move. And still, she thought there had been a point to the slowness with which the Jashinist had moved with. Her eyes fluttered closed and her mind moved like molasses.

It never is.

"STOP HIM!" A loud voice boomed through crowds of people. A man in a common patrol officer outfit, yelling out coming from the direction of the market areas. In front of him, running rather expertly through the crowd of people was a fairly young boy. In one hand he carried a large loaf of bread while in the other he held what seemed to be a jar of jam. And judging from the situation at hand, both items were probably stolen. The officer tried to keep up with him, but it is quite hard to catch someone who knows the streets so well. The young boy quickly ducked into an alleyway as he slide under a group of people moving some rather large material just in time to trap the officer following after him behind it. The boy looked at him with a smug smile and then stuck his tongue out. Then disappeared into the shadows of the alleyways. Navigating them pretty easily as well although much slower this time. He had no need to rush, aside from to get this stuff to where he needed to go before any of it spoiled. Hopefully he didn't run into anyone else that might have tried to stop him.
