Her cerulean eyes were on the Supreme Kai and Ziber, her unsuspecting expression being the last they would see of her. It was quite sudden that she hadn't completely comprehended what just occurred as she fell. Further and further she descended into the darkness with the weights pulling her down faster. Yosi looked up with concern, trying to figure just what was going on. Looking around, there was some sort of storm around her and a path of some kind down below.

She recalled the Supreme Kai mentioning some road that wouldn’t last for long. What was meant by that was quite clear yet. First and foremost, she needed to stop her descent and get back to the open portal. Yosi tried to fly, but was shocked to find she was still falling. The braces on her wrists were weighing her down- they were too heavy!

The irony in that she was handcuffed and being brought down had not escaped her. The girl wondered if the deity had done this on purpose. They were awfully tight too and chaffing- what were these things made of? Unfortunately, they were just too much for her to lift and dragged her to the very bottom. She would land on the path below, hands first and on her knees, immobilized.

Yosi winced in pain from the rather rough landing. It was really hard to like these things. Regardless, if they were just heavy, then she just needed to be stronger in order to lift it. Surely she had enough power to accomplish that much. Yosi huffed as she shifted to a kneeled position and summoned her power from within.

Her ki began to rise rapidly as her skin color began to change from a teal to a lime green color. Her bright orange hair would take a bright red hue and her muscles expanded to reflect the power she gained. This transformation was one she gained after watching Daiko’s Super Saiyan power up and had helped her several times in the past. With the power she had in this form she would be able to lift the weights and return to the entrance above. At least...she thought she would be able to.

When she attempted flight once more, she noticed something odd. The cuffs...they were heavier? How was that possible?! Yosi shook her head in disbelief, doing her best at trying to move or even drag the cuffs. But she was only hurting herself in the process, twisting and contorting her wrists. If this wasn’t enough...then she would have to use that other power.

After Daiko unlocked another level of his Super Saiyan power, she too believed she could do the same. Over the time she spent with the Major, she trained rigorously to awaken her own power. It had taken a great deal of effort, but she managed to tap into it once before. Now was the time to use it! Reaching within once more, her ki began to rise again, higher than it had ever been before.

However, this power was a little unstable which is why she struggled to master it. But if she could use it even for a little while, it would give her immense power. As her transformation activated, her hair had turned a deeper shade of red and her muscle mass would diminish slightly. Static filled her ki as she felt the power course through her entire body. Perhaps not as impressive as Daiko’s latest transformation, but it was still pretty great. Now...she could get to climbing these steps.

...Is what she expected to happen. But yet again, the cuffs proved to be too heavy to be moved. Yosi was beginning to wonder...if it was reflecting her current level of power. The stronger she was, the heavier they became. If that was true, her transformation would only serve to hinder her. In this case, she powered back down to her base form to see if it made a difference.

As she tried to lift the cuffs, she found they were still much too heavy...but not immovable. Getting to her feet, she would hoist her hands up to the best of her abilities. It was doing a real number on her back and shoulders, but like this she could finally move. Hardly being able to walk, she wondered if she would actually be able to make it back up in a timely fashion. But as she looked back at some suspicious sound, she would find out what the Supreme Kai had mentioned earlier.

Over her shoulder she would see the segmented path going down further below to a point. At the very end, she saw one of the “steps” poof into sparks of lights with a chime. So she was being timed… But what happened if she fell? Yosi wasn’t confident that the Supreme Kai wouldn’t let her die. Since she wasn’t waiting to find out, she started moving to the best of her abilities.

She could only move one foot at a time, sliding one foot forward and practically dragging the other along. Yosi groaned from the exertion, managing to climb a step and then two. Pacing herself was the key here. If she had plenty of time, she had no doubt she could reach the top eventually. But she had that chime behind her constantly reminding her that time was not on her side.

With a huff, she pressed on through the strain. It was strange; she felt something was awry. Was there some sort of trick to managing these cuffs? Of course, there had to be, she was just missing it. Though evidently, brute strength was not the answer to this riddle.

Her wrist was beginning to hurt from all the chaffing. With how tight they were, they definitely were not meant to be slipped off. Still...she would have a word with Ingo on how to properly restrain someone with handcuffs. This was not standard GP protocol! The cuffs are meant to restrict movement, not to injure the suspect in question.

Though now she found herself thinking of the Galactic Patrol as she slid her foot forward once more. Such strenuous training was not new to her. There were several times Yosi felt overwhelmed with the GP exercises she experienced last year. When she trained with Tonkzu, he helped her manage her ki a little better as well as taught her the Instant Transmission. It was the hardest thing she ever had to learn to do.

Major Riga stayed with her as her parole officer, but he also helped her train. Step by step, day by day, they worked hard to push her strength higher. Because they wouldn’t let her quit and they didn’t give up on her, she made it this far. Even now she could hear their words of encouragement. Yet the higher she climbed, she started to realize...there was something amiss.

With each step, she felt she was getting used to lugging the weight on her wrists. But after every five steps, that weight seemed to get heavier. It was like...it was adjusting itself to intentionally be a burden. A bead of sweat rolled down her cheek as she stared down at the cuffs in disbelief. There was no way...they were only going to get heavier the higher she climbed.

What was the gimmick here? How was she supposed to overcome this? She was racking her brain with ideas, starved for some kind of answer. Nothing seemed like it would help her in moving forward. The only thing she could fathom was the lesson being about perseverance. That seemed to be the constant lesson she was forced to learn.

Yosi pushed on, hoping something might come of this. But as she reached the next step, another factor came into play. The storm that circled around her was now making itself known. A harsh gust of wind came barreling toward her, catching her off guard. It pushed her back a step or two, much to her horror. Losing progress was not something she could afford here.

Yet the wind would not stop, now adding pressure for her to push through. She now had that and the weights keeping her back. Yosi stood upright, looking up at the end of the road, gritting her teeth. She wasn’t even close to reaching the finish line. And of course, that chime for each disappearing step behind her was now getting louder...

She had to focus on moving forward. The wind was providing an additional challenge to this gauntlet, but she would not let it best her. Yosi looked up to her goal and proceeded to press on. It was only a foot at a time still, but it was progress. She couldn’t think about the steps behind her- only ahead.

For this, she would fall back on her meditation. If she could put her efforts into her movements, she could move a little easier- at least in theory. It wasn’t as if she had too many options going for her at the moment. First, she closed her eyes to remove any visual distractions. She had a pretty good idea of her surroundings to move forward safely.

Next she would visualize herself moving forward, putting one foot up on the next step. In her mind, the wind pressing against her body was just a breeze. It would not stop her from climbing up and getting out of here. Focusing on a single point within her, she would find her center of strength. That strength would be essential to getting her out of this mess.

That strength was being channeled to her legs, similar to how she did when she ran. Yes, this training was much like her speed training in a way. If she could focus on running, even with this weight and the storm, she should be able to dash her way up. Yosi took a deep breath, putting all her concentration to running. To run harder than she’d ever had to run before!

As her eyes opened, Yosi pushed her foot, like kicking the ground. Striking the step, it launched her up to the next. As her other foot reached this step, she would kick once again and jump up again. She would continue to do this as she slowly began to build up momentum. Like this, she was making more progress, much faster than a step at a time.

Yosi swung her arms as she jumped, actually using the weights to aid her in her endeavor. This process was allowing her to even skip steps at times! Looking up at the entryway, she had to be halfway there now. The only problem...was the fatigue this method caused her. Feeling good about her progress, the girl landed on her next step with both feet.

Stomping on the step and dropping the cuffs on the platform, she landed in a crouched position. Drenched in sweat dripping off her body, she took a moment to catch her breath. Thankfully, being a Hera-jin would allow her to recover in due time. Then...she could do it all again and get out of this infernal place. Looking up, she took the moment to glance around while she recovered.

Actually, she wondered what this place was. It didn’t feel like she was in the Otherworld anymore. In fact, this place felt incredibly light; a fact she missed initially thanks to the cumbersome bracelets. All the stars in the distance and even the…planets? Was this space- some galaxy somewhere?

It did look like space, but the abyss at the bottom of the receding staircase made her think twice. Yosi was curious as to why she was sent to this place, but it could wait for when she saw Lady Ingo. Halfway there now, she just needed to push herself to finish this race. She stood up, sighing at the daunting task before her, but still smiling. It was tough, but she felt a little proud of what she’d managed to accomplish so far.

She was ready to join the others and so she started to replicate what she had done earlier. At the first step, the girl was launching herself up again. That’s when...a sudden wave of wind struck her. This was not like a gust of air, it was almost like a blast that was aimed at her! Caught off guard from this assault, Yosi lost her balance...and started to fall back down the steps.

She was startled at first, suddenly being knocked off balance. But the shock would not last and Yosi would regain her composure. Contorting her body, she would attempt to catch herself before she fell too far. With the weighted cuffs, she would plant them down so they would hit the steps. They would decelerate her fall, as she slowly slid down a couple more steps before actually stopping.

Yosi sighed as she finally came to a halt. She sighed in relief, but at the same time, she was distraught. Looking from where she fell, a great deal of progress had been lost. It was almost like when she first began this endeavor. Grit teeth hid the frustrating scream she so very much wanted to bellow out.

She was almost there! What had happened to cause her to fall? The wind in this place was chaotic, but that last gust of wind almost seemed intentional. Like she was being targeted, but she was the only one in here...or so she thought. Though she couldn’t sense anyone around didn’t necessarily mean she was alone.

Deities, like Lady Ingo, couldn’t be sensed for some reason. She looked around for anyone at all, or sign to say otherwise. It could’ve been the Supreme Kai or someone else. Was this part of the training? Getting her killed hardly seemed like training, though she never trained with Ingo before.

Looking up to the exit, the harsh wind persisted in trying to push her down. It seemed it wasn’t going to let up anytime soon. Yosi struggled to stand up straight, trying to regain her stance and then try again. And that’s when she heard the familiar shatter that sent a shiver down her spine. She looked back and saw the end of the staircase was only five steps back.

“W-When did it-?!” she gasped, horrified at the realization. Death was in a mere few inches and she was unaware of it until now. At this rate, she didn’t have time to build up her momentum like she did before. If she didn’t get moving and now… No! She refused to die like this! And so...she drew on all the power she could muster.

When she attempted to do this last time, the weights became heavier and unbearable. But this time was a little different. This time was a life or death situation and her survival instincts had now kicked in. The weights still became heavier; however, the girl was still marching up the steps at a steady pace.

She found herself fighting against the wind; it was still pushing with great force to knock her down. And yet, through grit teeth, Yosi found the will to force her way through. Not until she got out of this place would she stop her advance. The pressure on her wrist caused great pain and discomfort to her back. In fact, the chaffing had rubbed her skin raw that she was beginning to bleed.

The fall from earlier surely did her no favors in that regard. Though that was a minor inconvenience in contrast to her other problem. Despite her advanced level of power giving her the strength to carry herself up, it came at a cost. A hefty cost in its consumption of her stamina and ki. Not even her natural recovery was mitigating that cost…

With a sigh, Yosi shook her head, ignoring the pain she was in. Sweat would’ve been pouring down her face if it wasn’t for the wind. “I...have to...get through...this!!” she told herself between steps. The others were no doubt engaged in their own battles, probably just as difficult as this if not greater. She wondered how Daiko was handling his training in light of what happened earlier...

Step by step, Yosi pressed through the wind and the weight on her wrists. She had never pushed to these limits before, but hadn't really noticed either. She was only trying to survive at this point at any cost. More and more power she would channel to get her by. But the cuffs responded in kind by becoming heavier.

Yosi could hardly believe how ridiculous this all was. No one she'd trained with before had pushed her to such limits. Training with Daiko was dangerous, but never to this extent. He only pushed her until she awakened to her own power. The Supreme Kai all but abandoned her to fend for herself with little instruction besides getting back to the top.

Even training with Tonkzu wasn't this stressful. Her training with the Yardrat was more involved with intense meditation. Learning to focus her ki and translocate herself was no easy feat. But it was a lot more fair than being handcuffed with an immensely dense material. The more she fought it, the heavier it became.

Not to mention being given a time limit to climb with these insufferable things. Every step felt like she was only inching closer to death. The Major taught her how to pace herself when they sparred. Rather than expending excessive energy, she would only use what she had to. It didn’t do her much good in this place at this time, unfortunately…

As Yosi took another step, she heard another shatter behind her. Against her better judgement, she looked back to see the end was only three paces behind her. "No...this is impossible…" she lamented and looked up. The top was still so far away. She...wasn't going to make it...

There were simply too many steps to take. At her current speed, she would never outrun the breaking steps before...she fell. Yosi felt tears welling up in her eyes. Still, she continued trying to advance upward. Was this how her journey was going to end?

As she lifted her foot, the step behind her broke. That's when she collapsed from the weight and exhaustion of trying to maintain her transformation. Her hair and skin tone returned to their natural color. She sat on her knees on the final step, looking upward. There was no use trying any further.

Yosi was far too exhausted to continue any more. For whatever reason, her natural recovery ability was not kicking in. Perhaps it was a side effect of this space or even the cuffs she wore. Whatever the case, it no longer mattered. As the step she sat on began to crack, the girl would accept her fate. And then….she fell.

The moment the step broke, her descent into the depth below was rapid. The weights fell faster than she did, expediting her fall. But where was she falling? Yosi could see nothing below her, only the staircase above that she drifted further and further away from. Before long, they would disappear, she being too far to see them anymore.

At this point, her fall would begin to slow as darkness consumed her. There was nothing- not even gravity as she floated here. Was this...the end? Was she going to spend the rest of her days in this nothingness. The girl couldn’t do anything but float, helpless and alone. Before long, she started to get tired...

The cold of space would soon take its toll, causing Yosi to shiver. It was sapping the little bit of energy she had left. She couldn't even attempt to warm herself with her hands still bound. 'What a miserable way to die' she thought to herself. Perhaps this was some sort of divine retribution…

With nothing else to do, she allowed her mind to wander. Certainly, the others would be fine without her...but she worried about her sister. Zani was still adjusting to a "normal" life. Would she be alright without her? Perhaps her only regret was not repairing the bond they had when she was a kid.

It was as if it was in response to her passing thought that a bright light would pierce the darkness. It descended from above from where she fell, oddly enough. In her weakened state, she already struggled to keep her eyes open and the light made it no easier to see what had come for her. She felt a gust of wind as it approached her and she could do nothing but allow it to consume her. What came next was hard to explain, but she was certain she passed out.

Dazed and confused, Yosi next opened her eyes in a new void. Everything was a blinding white, yet there was still nothing. As she sat up, she found her fatigue had all but disappeared. What happened to her and where was she now? And...why was it so hard to breathe?

The more the girl tried to take a breath for air, the more she found herself gasping. Her breathing was becoming labored as she reached for her throat. It was hard not to panic in this situation under these circumstances. Whatever this place was, it was suffocating her! She had to find a way out of here!

And then, an unfamiliar voice would emerge from the void and address her. “You must control your breathing or you will die. Accomplish this and then we'll talk” the calm and soothing masculine voice spoke. Yosi stopped and looked around, but there was no one there. She tried to call out, but her voice would not come and nothing else was said to her. With little else to lose, she would do as the disembodied voice said for now.

As she floated in this space, she closed her eyes and ceased her breathing altogether. First, she had to calm down and relax. She needed to just...stop. Stop everything and start over to get a handle on it. It was like rebooting a computer in a sense.

She held the air in her lungs for a moment and then exhaled. With a slow inhale of air, Yosi started the process over. With each exhale, she could feel herself calming down and finally being able to breathe. This was a similar exercise she practiced with the Yardrat officer to clear the mind. She would continue this exercise until it came natural to her.

When she opened her eyes, again she looked for whoever it was that spoke earlier. Attempting to call out again, Yosi found her voice had returned. “Hello? Who’s there? What is this place and why am I here? Hello?!” The girl kept trying to find a person, but no one appeared. The voice; however, did return. “Yes, I’m here. What are you looking for- Oh, no. I don’t have a physical form for you to see. Think of me as...everything around you. This is me.”

Yosi raised a brow, both disturbed and intrigued as to what this was all about. Was this...no, it couldn’t be part of Ingo’s training. At least, it didn’t seem that way. “I’m impressed how quickly you adapted. I’m even more intrigued by you, Hera-seijin girl. There aren’t many of your kind left after all. Maybe…it would be fun to test you even further...” the voice trailed off. And with that, Yosi’s reservations about all this had only gotten worse.

The girl had a feeling she was in over her head. She would hate to believe she had become a captive, but something told her she wouldn't be able to just leave. How would she leave from this void anyway? It wasn't like there was a clear exit from this place.

She nervously floated in place as the voice would address her once again. "Ah, I see. So the Supreme Kai sent you to that place to refine your ki. In that case, let us strike a deal. Enlighten me with my requests and in return, you will achieve the goal you seek. Perhaps...even then some." Yosi hesitated to ask how he knew so much about her. It seemed her questions only brought about more questions. And with no means of leaving this place, she really didn't have much of a choice. "Fine. I accept on the terms I'll be able to leave when this is over."

Yosi hadn't a clue what this "test" would entail and kept her guard up. That's when she felt wind swirling around. This lasted for only a moment before the now visible air took shape before her as a clone. "Very well, Hera-seijin girl. I have created a duplicate to challenge you at your greatest feat: speed. Catching your doppelganger will be the first objective." The girl looked at the creation and sighed. "Fine. And...you can call me by my name- Yosi" she told him as a floor appeared beneath her feet.

The moment her feet touched the ground, she was surprised to feel the weight of her cuffs had returned. Wait, was she supposed to race like this?! Impossible! And now that she thought about it, she had to maintain her breathing exercise in this place too. Regardless, the chase was on to catch her double.

Facing her imposter, Yosi made rather pitiful attempts to catch her. In her current state, she had no chance of catching herself. Keeping her breathing under control, she attempted lung after lunge and each one was evaded with ease. The worst part was when she fell to the ground pretty hard and had to struggle to get back up. She spent what felt like hours on a fruitless endeavor.

“If you don’t focus on your breathing, you’ll never get anywhere” the mysterious voice suddenly chimed in. Of course she was already doing that, she had to in order to breathe in this place. But then she wondered if there was more to it than that. “...Ok. Focus then…” she huffed, closing her eyes. As she’d done earlier, she went back to her meditative exercise. The voice told her to focus so she would do just that.

She would think of nothing but her exercise and every inhale of air she took. And then, as she exhaled, she felt an odd sensation. Again she breathed in and another feeling came to her. Strange as everything else, it was as if she could sense her surroundings through her breathing. What was this phenomenon? Once she got a feel for the sensation, it was a little easier for her to focus on that.

Unbeknownst to her, a faint aura surrounded her body for a brief moment. Strange as it was, she felt at...peace. It was a calm Yosi hadn't felt before, perhaps ever. As she opened her eyes, she sighed in relief and looked at her opponent. She automatically raised her arms above her head to stretch, unaware of what she’d done until after the fact.

"The weights...I can’t feel them?” What was this “breathing technique” that allowed something like this? After she passed this test, she had to learn more about this entity. Even with her mobility back, catching her clone would not be easy. It had the same speed and maneuvers, making it a real chore to keep up. To make matters worse, if she lost her focus, the weight would return and slow her down.

But this technique was giving her an advantage she came to realize in time. Combined with her speed, her maneuverability was a lot more fluid and precise. Once she got the hang of this new movement, she could improve her reflexes. In a sense, she was going to be making the most of what she had rather than gaining a boost in speed. She just needed more practice...more time to refine it.

Y O S I
Closer and closer, she tightened her form and nearly caught herself. The aura from her breathing technique faded in and out around her as she ran about. Her sharpened gaze watched her opponent, looking for her chance, waiting for her moment. She knew her weaknesses better than anyone; she knew there was an opportunity when she stopped for a moment. When her clone came down from a jump- she had her chance!

Yosi tagged her after a lunge and a triumphant smirk on her face. With this the test was finally over and she could move on from this place. But first she needed to ask a few questions while she recuperated. "Well? Are you satisfied? Now I have some questions. Who- or what are you? What do you want from me? How do you know so much about me? And...why did you interrupt my training?" Yosi asked, the last being more of an assumption. With these breathing techniques and the gust of wind that created her clone, she had a feeling she was right in her accusation.

"...Simply, I interrupted your training because I was intrigued. For centuries, I have wandered aimlessly. I have no recollection of who I was or what I am. Such knowledge has been lost to me… I have not in all my years of wandering encountered anyone...until now. Upon interacting with you, I discovered my ability to read minds and the information you have provided has triggered several dormant memories. If I continue to test you, I believe I may learn more about...everything” the voice spoke. Yosi wasn’t sure how to respond, but for the most part the entity seemed harmless. She was still sour about her trial being disturbed as well as having her memories read. With a sigh, she shook her head, trying to put it behind her. “...Sure. For the record, don’t go reading people’s minds without permission. And since we’re done here-” “Not quite, Hera-seijin Yosi. It seems you still struggle with maintaining your Breath. Something is holding you back…”

The warrior was confused; she was pretty sure she had done it right, though this power was still a mystery to her. Suddenly, the wind would return and surround her clone who stood idly. She was obscured from view until the wind disappeared. What remained had shocked Yosi- a clone of her, although younger. This was an iteration of her that resembled her during her time with Dor’on.

“What is this?!” Yosi asked, glaring at her former self. “This...is the hesitation I sense within you. Should you overcome this, you should be able to maintain your Breath and more.” She shook her head in disbelief. She had already come to terms with this- how was it still a hindrance to her? The Yosi clone drew her weapon as she prepared to fight, much to the girl’s annoyance. “This isn’t right. I already know...the things I’ve done…”

The doppelganger didn’t hesitate to attack with an overhead slash with her sword. Yosi quickly defended herself using her cuffs to catch the blade. Apparently, she didn’t have an option to turn down this training. She leaped back to evade a kick and now found herself on the run. Instead of fighting back, she chose to stay on the defensive.

The weight wasn’t a problem thanks to her teachings, though she couldn’t properly fight like this. The most she could manage were kicks to fend her opponent off. She had to steer the fight if she ever hoped to get the upper hand. First of all, she had to get rid of that sword. Yosi had a plan, luring her double close to make her attack.

After dodging the first few, she then saw her opening. Sliding to her clone’s side, she struck with a kick at her hands and sent the blade flying into the air. With a double palm strike, she planted her hands into her clone’s stomach and sent her flying back. The sword came to fall pointed end first into the ground where it would be lodged. The false Yosi went sliding across the ground; where she laid motionless after she stopped.

Then it was quiet, until the voice returned to address the girl. “You feel shame and disgust for the things you’ve done. You feel it was selfish to want to live and to resort to such acts to do so. And so you have condemned this ‘self’. This ‘you’ that you deem evil and dark. Interesting… This part of you that you cannot accept is the source of your conflict. You cannot progress as long as this conflict exists.” Yosi shook her head in disbelief. This was worse than she thought- how could this part of her still exist within her? How had she not left this behind already?

“...Fine. If I can defeat this part of me...one last time. I won’t let this hold me back one more second!” she huffed, summoning her power. Her doppelganger then stood after hearing this, a menacing aura surrounding her. “No…” she groaned, power swelling within her. What was this intense dark power? Was this within her all along? It didn’t matter, because this was her last stand to finally be rid of it!

Y O S I
The battle began with each of them staring the other down. Yosi gathered her ki in her hands and hailed a barrage of ki blasts toward the shadow. The false Yosi followed suit and unleashed her own blasts to counter. Neither side let up; each ki blast finding another mid-flight. It was as if someone were facing a mirror the way they matched up.

Trying to tip the scales in her favor, Yosi thought using her Grand Smasher in the midst of the ki blast would do the trick. The energy slowly built in her palms as she fired until she felt she gathered enough. When she fired it, she was surprised to see another like it coming to greet it halfway. Her doppelganger had the same idea and they would up mimicking each other again. The two blasts collided and created a thick fog between them.

So far, this battle was going nowhere fast since her shadow fought just as she did. Or so she thought; but as she was trying to concoct a plan, the doppelganger lunged from the fog with a lightning fast punch. Yosi barely managed to block the blow with her knee as she winced in pain from the connection. The shadow continued her assault with a kick that also got countered with Yosi’s other leg. Going back and forth, they began to fight at surprising speeds.

Elbow was met with elbow, kick with kick. They were both giving it their all, though Yosi remained at a disadvantage with her bound hands. If she hoped to come out on top, she had to employ strategy in her combat. With the false girl’s next punch, Yosi used her hands to catch it. Before her opponent knew what was happening, the Psycho Threads had already ensnared her arm.

Yosi sighed as her double had finally stopped moving despite her grunts from trying to fight the threads. “Give up. You know it’s useless to try fighting them” she reminded the clone. “...No. I’ll...I’ll never…” the restrained girl cried. Along with her desperate cries, her energy began to rise dramatically in an all too familiar way. “I won’t stop! I can’t!!” Much to Yosi’s surprise, the copy could also transform and had more than enough power to break the threads.

In the blink of an eye, Yosi received a punch to the gut that immediately knocked the wind out of her. Having lost her breath, she felt the weights begin to pull her to the ground. But the enraged doppelganger proceeded to assault her with an uppercut to the jaw and a kick to the chest that sent her flying. It didn’t end there, Yosi being reminded of Instant Transmission as the darker version of her appeared behind her and slammed a Grand Smasher into her back.

Yosi immediately dropped to the ground, reeling from all the attacks. She was desperately trying to catch her breath- it was her only chance. Fortunately, she was only spared a couple of seconds to recuperate while her opponent was charging a powerful attack. So...she meant to kill her? How could she have ever been so… “This ends...now!” she swore. As the double unleashed her blast, Yosi would vanish from sight.

She had yet to use this breath technique with her transformed state, but now was as good as any. After using Instant Transmission, she reappeared before her fake with an intense glare. There was something very different about this form she acquired, though Yosi was too upset to notice at the moment. Again she would disappear, but not through Instant Transmission; her speed was near blinding as she struck her doppelganger with a flurry of blows. For every hit she received, Yosi returned in kind and then some. With every one of her attacks, a gust of wind followed.

After knocking the clone to the ground, she landed on her back with double stomp, planting her in the ground. Charging her ki, she prepared her Galactic Buster to eliminate her doppelganger for good. “This is the end. I won’t let you hold me back anymore!” And yet...the clone was desperately trying to stand, though it was pretty evident that the last attack had broken her back. “I...I can’t… I don’t want to die! I...want to live! Why...?” The clone, with tears, fell back down, though she still tried to crawl away.

Seeing this, Yosi grit her teeth in anger, nearing the completion of her charge. But then...she froze. This was her chance to finally be rid of her weakness, but this… “...This is…me” she huffed, letting the energy fade. Falling down on her behind, the transformation ended and her gaze looked to the struggling clone. At the last moment, it finally struck her- she had been fighting herself all along.

Y O S I
“You stopped? Why? Don’t you want to grow stronger?” the voice chimed in after being silent all this time. Yosi shook her head and solemnly smiled. “I do… But how can I do that by killing a part of me? This...This isn’t my darkness. It’s my fear. My shame. My perseverance. My...sense of self. Ever since I left Dor’on, I’ve felt like I don’t deserve the life I was spared. Daiko and the others helped me see otherwise, but then...that just shifted to trying to make amends. My life was given back to me...but it’s not really mine yet” she came to realize. Getting back to her feet, she walked over to the other Yosi who was still trying to crawl away. When the clone realized she was standing over her, she stopped and looked back. The girl sighed, looking at the pitiful state her mirror image was.

“As for...this. It’s what’s kept me alive to reach this point. I’m not proud of it, but it is a part of me. It’s time I accept that...if I ever want to find my way.” Yosi held out her hand to her clone, which the clone hesitantly looked at. When she took it, she then vanished in a gust of wind and light. With a sigh of relief, she didn’t feel any different...but she couldn’t help but smile. This change was not immediate, but a step in the right direction.

“...I see. You managed alright in the end. Fascinating. You not only stabilized your breathing, but you even made the Kokyu your own. Well done...Hera-seijin, Yosi.” The girl tilted her head and groaned a bit. “Kokyu? Is that what this technique is? So...does this mean you remember more now?” she asked, rolling her shoulders a bit. “Yes… No, not nearly anything; however, I’ve learned a great deal about you. And it has given me an idea… But I’m sure you would rather return home now, yes?” And so, the light would begin to fade above, opening as a circular portal of sorts. It was the same darkness she found herself drifting in before.

“There, I have opened the way. You merely need to ascend and you will find the steps you fell from before. Ah, though I should warn you: when you fell, you were sucked into a dark abyss - or a black hole. You will find yourself back in this place, but I have no doubt you will make your way out. I thank you, Hera-seijin Yosi for your help” the entity expressed gratitude. Yosi stared up at the murky depth that awaited her- the challenge that presented itself to her. She would not fail now! “You know...I feel like you helped me more, despite the circumstances. So...thanks. I wouldn’t mind helping you later on if you’d like, but there’s somewhere I need to be right now.” The others were no doubt waiting on her return. She wondered how long she’d been gone.

As she started to fly up, the voice would resound one last time. “If the gods permit- I would accept your assistance again in the future. Ah. And if it pleases you, you may call me Vaayu. Til next we meet, Hera-seijin Yosi.” She would only nod as she flew up higher and higher, until she reached the murky black depths. Once she was in, the light below would fade as it disappeared into the distance below. Again, she was now on her own, but she was not helpless. First, she had to figure out how to escape this black hole.

The entity instructed her to head up, though it didn’t seem that simple. It was as if the moment she left the light that her orientation got mixed around. Which way was up and which was down? This was definitely a tricky situation she was in, but she closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. The faint aura appeared around her body as she hovered still in one place.

Opening her eyes, she could feel her way around a little better. It was strange; it was as if the way up was constantly shifting about. Was this an effect of being in the abyss? Which was moving- her or the black hole? This, however, was irrelevant since she could feel her way around now. Once she pinpointed her exit’s location, she made a break for it. Yosi could feel the gravitational force as she flew closer to the exit, but it would not stop her.

She forced her way through, her aura helping her fend off the crushing weight all around. She could sense the way out, though she had no way of telling when she would escape the abyss. That is, until she actually flew out of it. It happened in all but a few seconds when she felt the crushing force reach its zenith. And then she was free!

A little sore from the abyss trying to keep her prisoner, Yosi would try to shake it off and press forward. Now she just needed to find the exit to this place. With her flight back and the cuffs no longer hindering her, she could be out in no time. But when she finally found the stairs above, she decided she wanted to see this through properly. She landed on the last step and with a smirk, began her long hike back to the top.

For once, Yosi decided to take her time and enjoy the scenery. With each step she passed, she thought about the experience she had in this place. Vaayu… It was not a name she would soon forget. Perhaps the Supreme Kai knew more about them...or perhaps she intended them to meet. As the doorway came into view, she would soon learn the truth of the matter.
