▶ SELFLESS — Mirzam is understanding and kind, despite everything that he had gone through. He is compassionate in a way that he puts the value on the well-being of others but not on himself, as Mirzam felt that someday good karma will come to him if he did the right thing. He tries to get along with people as a way to try to lift himself up. So far, he has given so much and received so little- and Mirzam tried to convince himself that he wasn't expecting anything in return. On the other hand, it does make him jaded and bitter every single day. Nowadays he tried to practice being kinder to himself, struggling between being selfless and being a martyr.

▶ EMOTIONAL — Mirzam has a problem on feeling things deeply, as well as the need to suppress it. He thought it was humiliating to express his breakdowns to the point of isolation, but deep inside he desired to have someone he can have someone to confide with. Mirzam feels things deeply under the belief that understanding emotions is a reminder that he's still a person. On the other hand, he has a tendency to take things to heart that affects him badly.

▶ GUARDED — Mirzam has tall walls, he may have stopped making them taller but he might be hesitant in tearing them down. Mirzam thinks that if he lets himself loose he will end up losing control of himself and make himself a problem to others. He has a habit of keeping secrets for others' sake mainly because Mirzam didn't want to let them down. This gives him a hard time asking for help, but Mirzam makes an effort in trying to ask. But he sometimes does it in such a slow and awkward manner.

▶ STUBBORN — Mirzam feels the need to be independent after being let down many times and wanting to have control in his life, and thus he is stubborn in a way that he prefers to do things by himself. He did unlearn the very unhealthy version of this trait, and eventually would accept help from his trusted friends if he has to. But he still has a habit of wanting to feel independent and self-sufficient, but not to the point of stubbornly isolating himself from support.

▶ PESSIMISTIC — Despite his recovery, Mirzam is a pessimist, developing a habit of keeping strangers at arm's length and with the unconscious assumption that they're not trustworthy. He doesn't really expect all good things to last forever, no matter how sentimental he secretly can be, and he can be worried about things that might go wrong. Mirzam can give people the benefit of a doubt, but he still can't expect too much from people he doesn't trust.

▶ BRITTLE — Mirzam may stay defiant as long as he wants, but it will still cost him dearly. He believes he doesn't have a strong will and has struggled in moving forward properly. It is hard for him to bounce back on track and it's easy to mark a scar on him. It is made worse for this stubborn and emotional nature, that there is indeed a possibility for him to break down if it is too much for him. The only thing that kept him from going insane and committing murder is him reminding himself every day to never be anything like his sister.

➥ Background History

▶ CHILDHOOD — Despite his alumnus, Mirzam Owens was born in England with four siblings: Rei, Ryn, Rui, and Autumn. His father has a negatively prejudiced view of muggles and muggleborns. As far as Mirzam was told as a child, his father hated his mother and his children. And then Mirzam's mother and his older brother Ry died violently, Rui told him that their father let dark wizards inside their home to attack them. After the incident, their father didn't hurt them and became an alcoholic. Mirzam was seven years old when Ruin told him that story, gaining burning resentment towards his father. Because of this, the remaining children were raised by their cousins.

Mirzam was a quiet kid, busy reading books as much as he can. One of them was reading about international schools, the ones his mother's old friend Jacqueline Herrero told him about when she used to secretly send letters about her international job. Mirzam deep down grew the desire to study abroad and not in Hogwarts, wanting to escape home and his toxic environment. Eventually, his desire was heard by the family members who cared to listen to him, and when he was at the right age he went to study at Salem Institute with Jacqueline as his guardian. His father was likely too drunk to care about it.


▶ SCHOOL LIFE — Mirzam and his guardian Jacqueline lived in a house in Boston, Massachusetts. He enrolled at Salem Institute, starting as a lost and shy student. It took him a while until he could finally open up, gain a friendly environment, and become one of the fine students of Salem. As he grew up, he began to see Jacqueline as a mother he wished to have, while growing morose and anxious that he was living far away from his siblings. However, he pushed away his doubts as a way to not worry people, coping by constantly exchanging letters with his siblings back and forth, especially Rei.

Later in his school year, he received a letter that Rei died under mysterious circumstances, truly upsetting Mirzam as he was closest to Rei. After that, he grew more anxious over his siblings' wellbeing, constantly exchanging letters with them... until they no longer reply back. Mirzam developed the need to defend himself with his magic, so he studied hard with the subjects that he believed could protect him and graduated Salem with top grades


▶ POST-GRADUATION —
After Salem, Mirzam still stayed and decided to work for Law Enforcement. His life had been very mundane despite his self-doubts until his love life came into the picture. He met someone named Steffi Williams who he dated for a year despite his friends' warnings, and then he found out that she was cheating on him. Demanding for an explanation, Steffi told him that he was becoming too clingy, so they broke up. Mirzam left heartbroken and internalizing Steffi's words, developing trust issues for people since.

Eventually, Mirzam developed a sense of homesickness and the desire to see his family, so he moved to Godric's Hollow. He worked his first job in London as a tailor for Madam Malkin's, where he met his second lover named Kyla Collins, who was a more trustworthy and kinder person than the last. Jacqueline, his now mother figure, would sometimes (frequently) visit him from time to time, much to Mirzam's chagrin.

The year 2035. Mirzam crossed paths with his long-lost sister Rui, which was something that brought him joy as he talked with her. Until he heard Rui said something strange and assaulted him with murderous intent, claiming that "joining them is the only safe way". Mirzam ran away from her, shaken and shattered. He moved to Hogsmeade out of whim (which left his mother figure confused) with a roommate named Kenji Apostol. Mirzam never told Jacqueline the story nor the reason why other than "wanting to feel independent". The true reason is that he wants to hide from Rui

The year 2037. Mirzam began to look for a new career field and applied to work as a school nurse in Hogwarts, believing it as a safe haven away from Rui's want to murder him. During his time of career, he met a student named Sara King, who treated him with nothing but suspicion and hostility. Mirzam, unable to understand why was confused but didn't take it personally. He continued to treat Sara with compassion like all the other students. Eventually, Mirzam and Sara get along as friends.

Summer 2039. Mirzam and Kyla broke up, he could no longer stand keeping family secrets from Kyla, let alone put her in danger. His mental issues had gotten worse even if he was working in a safe place like Hogwarts. His fear of Rui catching up to him came true: She abducted him and kept him in an abandoned cottage. Rui tried to coerce Mirzam to join her cause of destroying the world under the threat of torture, to which Mirzam refused. He also tried to talk to Rui for an explanation, until the one-year torture made him give up on trying to talk some sense to her. From his time in captivity, he learned that his other remaining family members were murdered: Griffin, Nolan, Autumn, and even Rei. "Ryn", one of Rui's alter egos, would torture Mirzam with the intent of ending his life- until Rui would come back and heal him back with potions. At this point, Mirzam was just waiting to pass out and away.

Summer 2040. Sara unexpectedly came into the cottage to rescue Mirzam and a young kid Rui kidnapped, much to his surprised. It eventually made sense, Sara's initial hostility towards Mirzam was from her connection to Rui. Sara was caught by Rui(Ryan) and there was a big fight that ensued. Mirzam used his remaining strength to protect the younger child as he was too weak to protect both, but eventually, his body gave up and passed out. As he was recently tortured by the time Sara came to rescue him. Mirzam didn't remember anything after that other than waking up in a hospital, and authorities telling him that Rui is dead. Mirzam was surrounded by people who were worried sick for him, which insulted Mirzam. After many months of recovery, he came back to Hogwarts with the intention of overworking himself and pushing everyone away, a bad way to cope with his trauma. One of them was Richard Drage, a Transfiguration professor who was clearly sent by Kenji to check up on him, Mirzam also pushed him away. It was so bad that he also passed out from fatigue, and he had to accept that he needed to accept help: including therapy and a general support system. This was emphasized even further when he realized how much he gave his mother figure Jacqueline a lot of distress throughout the years, so he promised to do better.

Year 2045. Mirzam moved back to Boston with Jacqueline, as the mere presence of Britain became a suffocating place for him. He took the job of a robe tailor in a nearby wizarding shop, as being cooped up at home was also too much for him. Mirzam took therapy frequently and did his best to take care of himself, and to let people help him. No matter how much work it took for him to do so. He slowly started to recover over the years, and eventually, Jacqueline married a woman who has many children. Most of them being adults and Mirzam's age. Mirzam felt alienated at first from his new cheerful family but warmed up to them. To the point that he became a godfather to one of his stepsiblings' children. It was at this point that Mirzam could feel like an ordinary person again.

Eventually, Mirzam made so much progress to his recovery that despite his problems (his repulsive reaction to potions, fear of walking in dark streets, trigger to violence), he believed that Mirzam wanted to try again being a School Nurse in Hogwarts. Because while Salem Institute was indeed a memorable school, Hogwarts is where he met meaningful friends and students. Jacqueline, out of her understandable protectiveness towards the man he saw as her son, tried to insist that he should stay in Boston. Eventually, Mirzam convinced her with the promise that he will visit Boston from time to time, as well as exchange letters with her.

And with that, the Year 2053, he came back to Hogwarts as a school nurse.
