Physical Description: Temitope is tall, made almost entirely out of knees and elbows and other platitudes people use when describing someone, well, tall. With freckled skin more often roasted red by the sun, her farmer's tan has its own tan lines, and no matter what she wears it almost always looks too little for her. Small in hip and bust, it's a running joke among her family that were she to turn sideways she might become invisible or easily hide herself behind a tiny tree. She possesses a wiry strength though, afforded to her through Turns of working out in the fields with herdbeasts and helping do chores around the homestead. Tiny scars common for living the life she has dot her flesh, with a personal favorite being a large scar on her knee gained through an adventure with an angry herdbeast and the knowledge that clearing a fence is harder than it looks.

Her chin-length hair is a ratty affair all its own, generally unkempt when down or pulled up tightly into a working bun whenever it has to be up. A pale shade of blue-grey, it seems to grow darker in the winter, lighter in the summer, or just stay the same tone of boring no matter how often her mother tries to style it up and clean it to keep her daughter presentable. It's not uncommon to find actual straw or hay poking out from a messy bun here or there, or maybe even a stick of she had something in her hand and needed both free for a task. Her eyes are a much brighter shade of blue and always seem to be merry no matter how exhausted Temitope might be. Occasionally she'll have dark circles under her eyes, prompting the smattering of freckles above her nose and on her cheeks to stand out.

As the oldest she is afforded the better pick of clothing in her family, with whatever she owns becoming hand me downs; thankfully Temitope's taste in fashion has always leaned towards practical over fashionable. Hardly any of her clothes have sleeves or long pants however, as no matter the temperature she prefers to have her arms free and her legs bare from mid-thigh down. Her favorite pair of boots are practically falling apart on her feet, and yet they'll stay there.

Personality: It's hard to tell what Temitope is thinking, but really it's probably nothing. Easily zoned out at any time, she's not much into deep thoughts and usually don't even try to have them. She's not dull by any means, in fact she catches on to tasks and lessons quite easily and retains them well, but rather it's just that specific wagon trains of thoughts aren't exactly always rolling. Her (unfortunate) ability to zone and/or tune things out easily leads to misunderstandings of all sorts, not to mention trouble with people in positions of authority who might think her ignoring them purposefully or slacking off instead of working. It's not quite the same as being easily distracted, as she doesn't turn her attention to other things when something is in front of her, but generally when left to her own devices at a task that could be considered rather repetitive, she'll let her mind wander and her hands will idle too. Thankfully it's not a hazard to herself or others as she can and will focus in situations that command full attention, and if she is working with a partner it nearly never happens.

She's also a mug half full type of individual who does her best to look on the bright side of things. While normally harmless, as optimism can be a good thing, Temitope tends to do this literally all the time. It's as though she refuses to see the downside of a situation, or of a person, or of anything else; if a person could forever be wearing rose-colored glasses she would be that person. It's hard for her to accept that people might do bad things on purpose, or that terrible incidents don't happen for specific reasons - things like accidents are easily understood but it's harder for her to accept that there might not be a good outcome as a result of whatever happened. People who are purposefully malicious straight up baffle her, and she's outright unable to accept that bad things happen to good people at random. If the reason behind something bad happening can't be properly explained, or if it literally happens for no reason, it's not uncommon for Temitope to actually become a bit distraught from the situation. Bad things just don't happen to good people, at least not to her.

And definitely to Temitope, everyone is a good person, or at least someone worth talking to once in a while. Friendly to anyone and everyone, there's not a single individual on Pern that she won't talk with, even if the conversation is very limited and hardly extends beyond one or two words. She's tactful enough to know time and place for talking to people, or at least when to back off and not push further, but that doesn't stop her from at least greeting others.

Which can be a problem when she does it casually towards people of much higher rank. Not everyone needs to be spoken to as equals, at least not in professional setting, but sadly Temitope isn't much one for the rank and file. It's not on purpose by any means

Positive Trait List Optimistic, friendly
Negative Trait List Prone to zoning out, casual/lax

History: Temitope was born to a set of parents who were more than happy to start their family in Wendber Cothold. Soon to the be the oldest of four, she took to her role as surrogate mother when needed and amazing big sister when wanted.

Growing up in a tiny cothold meant getting along well with the other families that resided there, as the main export of Wendber being herdbeasts required quite a lot of hands on deck during breeding season, and thus Temitope was afforded close friendships and friendly rivalries with both children and adults as she finally took to the fields to help with the cothold "tradition". Learning to ride a runner came quickly and easily thanks to constantly falling down and getting back up, as did an unbridled source of delight and joy at just finally being able to do what her family and friends did every day.

Over the Turns Temitope grew quite close with one of the children closer to her in age, a young girl named Haraera. Unbeknownst to the older teen, the younger girl thought of them as some sort of rivals - a cute little title that Temitope doesn't exactly think much of (nor does she quite understand the point of rivalries while trying to survive). Always eager to spend time together and help one another out with chores and simple tasks, their relationship flourished.

And then came Thread.

Being tithed to Crom and High Reaches Weyr certainly didn't hurt and the cothold escaped the path of destruction by the skin of a wherry's tooth. The herds weren't as decimated as some, and so life for Temitope and the families didn't change quite as much as one would expect, apart from an increase in tithes and other things which were absolutely understandable (at least, to her).

It wasn't until news of another massive double clutch, this time in different Weyrs, reached around Pern that a search dragon finally made its way to Wendber cothold.
