Guild Owner: Hello again, everyone. I have another Nickelodeon Game to talk about... Legends of the Hidden Temple.
This one has a scaled tone in Difficulty, more on that later. This Nickelodeon Adventure Themed Children's Game launched in 1993 with...

User Image
The Stone Head in the Guild Owner's room speaks
Stone Head: The Legend of Galileo's Cannonball...

Guild Owner: That Giant talking Stone Head is named Olmec. As he's voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. The Host of that Children's Game, exiting the temple, sliding down on a rope or swinging on a Tarzan Vine, depending on the Season and Difficulty of the Children's Game is Kirk Fogg.
As the Game States...
"The Rooms are filled with Lost Treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards."
Which is around the Final Round, more on that later.

*Round 1 Gameplay: The Moat*
User Image
Guild Owner: The large swimming pool in the Legends of the Hidden Temple is called a Moat. On one side of the Moat are 6 Podiums and on the other side are 6 Teams with pairs of 2. Those Teams are...
Red Jaguars
Blue Barracudas
Green Monkeys
Orange Iguanas
Purple Parrots
and Silver Snakes
Each way to cross the Moat varies from show to show & you can't just simply jump in and swim across as this is a Children's Game since that would be too easy.
These ways include Rafting, using Ropes, Balance Beams, Inner Tubes or a Mixture of 2 or more.
The First 4 Teams to make it across the Moat & Ring in at their Podiums advance to the next round.
Crossing the Moat in Round 1 could take seconds or minutes as seen on the actual show. After that, 2 of the 6 Teams are eliminated from gameplay as they're given consolation prizes.

*Round 2 Gameplay: Steps of Knowledge*
User Image
Guild Owner: The Second Round is called the Steps of Knowledge. This is where the 4 Remaining Teams face off in a Trivia Round. After the Lost Treasure is chosen, Olmec would ask Questions to the 4 Teams related to the Lost Treasure's Legend. To ring in, players would need step on the Floor Panel... Steps on the Floor Panel and rings in as an example.
Guild Owner: Sometimes, the question about the Lost Treasure's Legend would have a connection or something of that sort as the show states...
"Pay Attention because your Knowledge of the Legend will bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
After this round is completed, only 2 Teams would advance the Third Round while again, the other 2 Teams are eliminated as they're given consolation prizes.

*Round 3 Gameplay: Temple Games*
User Image
Guild Owner: The Third Round has the 2 Remaining Teams face off in the Temple Games. This is where the Teams battle it out to advance to the Final Round as they compete to win Pendants of Life which not only decides which team becomes Champion but they will also need to ward off the Temple Guards. In the Actual show, there's 3 Temple Games... 2 Half Pendants & 1 Full Pendant, for a total of 2 Pendants. For a Fandom Sense, additional Temple Games would not only make the game longer but more Pendants could be awarded. One example would I could do 4 or 6 Pendants, but I need to calculate how many Half & Full Pendants that would be awarded, leading to the number of Temple Games. The more Temple Games, the More Pendants of Life, the Better.
These Temple Games don't really have a connection to the Lost Treasure's Legend. As all the Lost Treasures in the actual show are mainly props.
The Temple Games were Legends of the Hidden Temple's Version of the Psychical Challenges.
As for Pendants awarded...
3 Temple Games (Standard Game) = 2 Half Pendants/1 Full Pendant, equaling to 2 Pendants
6 Temple Games (Long Game) = 4 Half Pendants/2 Full Pendant, equaling to 4 Pendants
8 Temple Games (Extended Game) = 4 Half Pendants/4 Full Pendants, equaling to 6 Pendants

Aedelyn whispered to Sirpa. Sirpa, what happens if both teams are tied after a Temple Game & after all the Temple Games with the same amount of Pendants?

*Tiebreaker Gameplay*
Guild Owner: If Both Teams are Tied after at least one Temple Game, then Both Teams get a Half or Full Pendant of Life, depending on the Temple Game. If Both Teams are Tied with the Same Amount of Pendants of Life after the Temple Games then a Tiebreaker is played which is a Steps of Knowledge Question. The Team that rings in and answers the question correctly advances to the Final Round. However, if the team is wrong, then the other Team could provide the correct answer and win the game or win by default. Sometimes, more than one Tiebreaker Question would be asked. After the Temple Games, the Champion Team advances to the Final Round while the Runner Up team gets a Consolation Prize prior to being eliminated from gameplay.

*Season Difficulty*
Guild Owner: Before I proceed, I may want to point out on the Children's Game changing Difficulty. From 1993 to 1996 during the show's time, the Set and Difficulty got Harder.. For instance, Season 1-3 has the same set & same show but around Season 3, it was the Hardest compared to Season 1 which was the Easiest. This will come up again as we continue. So to recap...
Round 1 is the Moat
Round 2 is the Steps of Knowledge
Round 3 is the Temple Games

User Image
*Round 4 Gameplay: Temple Run*
Guild Owner: The Final Round of Legends of the Hidden Temple is the Temple Run itself. When this Children's Game on television was mentioned to anyone growing up in the Early to Late 1990s, this is what they will remember. The Temple Run is otherwise known as Olmec's Temple. The Temple itself is composed of 12 to 13 Room Labyrinth depending on which Season and Difficulty is used with it. The Goal of this Round is simple...
The Champion Team must run inside the Temple, find the Lost Treasure and exit with it.
But on the actual show, it was Hard, no matter what Season & Difficulty was used. There is no linear line from the Start to the Lost Treasure as some of the Doors were Locked leading the Champion Team to find another route to reach the Lost Treasure as the show states...
"The choices are yours and yours alone..."
Oh and the Temple Guards that I mentioned earlier, its not a good thing.
As 3 of them are stationed in 3 of the Temple's Rooms, and if that Champion Team Player enters one of those rooms without a good gameplan, that Temple Guard will grab that player. When that happens, a player can trade in a Full Pendant of Life for progression as a Half Pendant of Life won't cut it. That is, of course, if the Champion Team has at least one Half Pendant of Life on hand, enters the Temple and find the other Half Pendant of Life. Which comes down to this...
At least 1 Full Pendant of Life, the Champion Team Player can continue
Less than 1 Full Pendant of Life, its Game Over for the Champion Team & not in the best ways possible either which results in a Loss.
Besides that, there has been a Few Victories on the show throughout its 3 Seasons.
The thing is on the television show, that team was the Purple Parrots. Out of the 6 Teams, the Purple Parrots won the Temple Run less often by 11 times and out of 11 times, they made it out with the Lost Treasure 3 times...

*Status Breakdown*
Guild Owner: Here's the Breakdown of the Show's Statuses...
Legends of the Hidden Temple, throughout its 3 Seasons has 120 Episodes with only 32 Victories shown. That's a 26.7% for 5 Teams & 2.5% for the Purple Parrots.
Inside the Temple, you would see the status of progression. On the Bottom Right is the Clock, the Bottom Left has the Temple Map with a Dot marking where the Lost Treasure is...
Since I do not have any Pendants of Life on hand, I do have a Star Trek Federation Phaser which should protect me from most Temple Guards as we say in the 6 Classic Star Trek movies... "Phasers on Stun."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Guild Owner: *laughs* That's a joke. In reality on the actual show, the Upper Right shows how many Pendants that Champion Team has remaining.
Now remember what I said about an Increase in Difficulty from Season to Season and show to show, the Temple itself got Harder as a result.
One example is the Pit Room, which is at the Start of the Temple Run after the Caves...
Season 1's Temple Run being the Easiest Difficulty as its lit up with no Fog Machine.
Season 2's Temple Run has a Normal Difficulty as it is partially it with some Fog.
Season 3's Temple Run being the Hardest Difficulty has a cascading waterfall of fog in the background.
One Room that's considered infamous is the Shrine of the Silver Monkey as some people who watched the show got worked up because some Champion Teams did NOT put the Silver Monkey together properly! How many ways could there be to put the Silver Monkey statue together? The answer is 1 Simple way to do so, as there was 3 pieces from bottom to top to be faced in the right direction as in reality, its NOT Hard to do so!

*Overall*
Guild Owner: Legends of the Hidden Temple is still a good Children's Game for what it is from 1993 to 1996 as it still holds up to a fanbase. You can cheer a team who you think is your favorite, learn about the Lost Treasures in the show and have a good time. This Children's game had Trills, Chills which equaled to an Adventure Themed Children's Game on Nickelodeon during its time.

Guild Owner: This Children's Game got a Television Movie in 2016 and best of all, a Reboot is on its way in the Fall of 2021 on The CW. Hopefully with more Lost Treasures, Temple Run Rooms, Temple Games and more Pendants of Life. Legends of the Hidden Temple was the Third to Last Children's Game on Nickelodeon during the 1990s.

Dranor whispered Are there any tips for a Champion Team to reach the Lost Treasures on this so called Legends of the Hidden Temple without wasting a Pendant of Life or Running into the Temple Guards?

*Temple Run Survival Tips*
Guild Owner: In a matter of speaking, Yes. I have a List of Helpful Hints that can build a Gameplan as featured in Season 1, Episode 1...
1. Tracking = The characters need to have a good sense of direction to reach the Lost Treasure in time and escape with it.
2. Escape Route = The characters would need to plan an escape from Olmec's Temple beforehand so that once the Lost Treasure is in hand. The characters can use what they think is the best way to exit the temple with the Lost Treasure and win the Grand Prize.
3. Pathfinding = The best way for the characters to win the Grand Prize by reaching the Lost Treasure and escape with it is to work from the bottom rooms to upper rooms. Should there be any locked doors in that character's path, that character can attempt to break them down & press on.
4. Memory = If one teammate is tossed out of the temple, its best that the other teammate to retrace that teammate's steps, so as not to run into the Guards.
5. Perceptive = Before the Temple Run, the characters would guess where they think the Temple Guards are hiding in the 3 rooms. So they would know to avoid entering them for risk of losing a pendant or losing the Temple Run entirely. After the Champion Team chooses the 3 rooms they think the Guards are hiding, they would not enter those rooms to see if they Guessed Right or Guessed Wrong. The character would also need to guess where they think the Half Pendant so they can complete a Full Pendant of Life.
One example of this would be the Heart Room as its the Center of the Temple & Coffin Room in First Episode of Season 1.
6. Direction = The character who's not running at the moment or was tossed out of the Temple would tell the teammate cues by cheering that teammate on or if that teammate is on the Wrong Track.
7. Skill = The champion team can't rely on Pendants of Life too much, so a character would need to have a few tricks up his or her sleeve to dodge the temple guards before being grabbed them & losing a Pendant to them or getting thrown out of the temple, so in the OOC Game version, anything goes to outwitting the Temple Guards, so their Pendant can remain intact before the Temple Guard gets back on its feet to try and grab the character which would cause that character to lose a Pendant of Life or getting thrown out.
8. Stealth = Wasting a Pendant of Life is NOT a good idea at the Start of the Temple Run. So should a team enter a room where a Temple Guard is hiding, that character needs to solve the puzzle in that room and advance to the next room as fast as that character can as that Temple Guard will be alerted so as not to get captured & lose a Pendant or get thrown out of the Temple.
9. Completing the Pendant = If the Champion team has at least 2 Half Pendants on hand, then inside the Temple is the other half of the Pendant & when that Champion Team finds it, they'll have Pendant of Life just in case they have a run in with the Temple Guards.

*Temple Run Prizes*
Guild Owner: When a Champion Team Player reaches the Lost Treasure, all the Temple Doors will be Unlocked and Open then the Temple Guards will vanish allowing a Safe Passage, and if the player returns with the Lost Treasure will be, as the show states... "Handsomely Rewarded". With 3 Prizes all tied accordingly...
The First Prize is for Entering the Temple.
The Second Prize is for reaching the Lost Treasure
and the Grand Prize is for Exiting the Temple with the Lost Treasure.
Sometimes, the Temple Run in the Television Show, was completed in One Attempt without getting thrown out of the Temple & the other teammate of the Champion Team going in next which is a Rare Occurrence, one example of this was the "Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba", a Season 2 Normal Difficulty Episode.
A Very Rare Occurrence on the television show, is when the Temple Run was completed in One Attempt without wasting a Pendant of Life.

Guild Owner: I guess that's everything I know about Legends of the Hidden Temple for the time being. But I may or may not do an OOC Game, as I'll think about it.

Dranor said to Ariane Okay, take your time. Ariane, it sounds like the Narrator is a bit unsure of this so called Legends of the Hidden Temple. Maybe we could ask him why he's a bit unsure?

Guild Owner: Well... as I mentioned before, Legends of the Hidden Temple is a 6 Team game played with pairs of 2 players on team for a total of 12 People. I do not know if I may do an OOC Game of Legends of the Hidden Temple, so things are still up in the air for the time being.

I understand... If you're not feeling up to a Legends of the Hidden Temple OOC Game for the time being, that's your decision. Thank you for your time. Ready to head back? Dranor said calmly.
