Ex-Captain Eisen of squad 5 of the soul society soul reapers had planned on murdering the other Soul reapers in order to gain access to the real Karakura town that had been swapped with a fake one in the world of the living. He had brought with him many Espada, which are really tough hollows.

Hollows are dead souls that have regrets and holes somewhere on their body that don't belong. It is a Soul reaper's job to exorcise these hollows so that they may pass on and enter the cycle of rebirth.

Ordinary dead souls are just called pure souls, but if they do not pass on they can become hollows. A soul reaper must also help these beings pass on so that 1. they do not become hollows. 2. they can enter the cycle of rebirth.

Ulquiora, an espada that has a rank of 4 is keeping guard over Eisen's hostage Orihime Inoue, but what the hollow really wants is to kill Ichigo Kurosaki the substitute soul reaper.

Lady Rurichio of the Kasimiogi clan wants to hold a Kamari match with her people, but Sir Kenryu doesn't agree in fact he thinks the game is stupid. So, in order to settle the argument, Rurichio challenged Kenryu to a match. The loser has to shut up about how to run the clan.

The competition rules were set, as ridiculous as they were and the game began. During the game, a hollow appeared, thus causing a needed distraction for Rurichio to give her explanation to Kenryu of why she wanted a tournament. In the end, Rurichio got what she wanted and preparations for the tournament began. This left Ichigo and the others perplexed of what that was all about.

We are taken back in time when Kiske Uahara was going to become the captain of squad 12. Soifon of squad 2 didn't think that Kiske was worthy because of Kiske's poor habits, but Youruichi thought otherwise.

Soifon wasn't the only Soul reaper with a problem for having Kiske promoted to Captain. The lieutenant of squad 12, Hiyori did as well. Hiyori does have a bit of an anger management problem though, so saying she has a problem with Kiske isn't saying much. What was shocking to her was that Kiske suggested they go visit a place called the Maggot's nest.

Miyuri Kurosuchi, the current present day captain of squad 12 was being recruited by Kiske from the Maggot's nest. Apparently, the man was dangerous and yet Kiske saw potential in Miyuri's abilities for research and development.

9 years after Kiske became captain of squad 12, there was an incident where people were unable to keep their bodies and disappeared into thin air. Squad 9 was looking after it, but had to recruit squad 12 to help out. During the night of the recruitment of squad 12, everyone sent from squad 9 to investigate was mysteriously killed.

The soul reapers that were sent to investigate the disappearing incident have become hollows and it is up to the reinforcements that Yamamoto sent to quell this situation. The backup are what we know as today's vizards. Vizards are half-hollow and half-soul reaper. Ichigo is technically a vizard also since he has hollow powers as well as soul reaper powers.

It is revealed that Souske Eisen was behind the hollowfication of the soul reapers and he brilliantly schemed it so that he wouldn't be suspected as being guilty.

Kiske knew the truth, Tessai knew the truth, and so did Shinji Hurako. Shinji becomes a vizard while we will see what happens to Kiske and Tessai.

As a result of Souske's lies, Central 46 banished Kiske to the world of the living without the use of any abilities and as for Tessai, he was to go to prison. Yourichi saved our two comrades and hid them away to their secret training ground along with the hollowfied victims.

Eventually, Kiske had no choice but to go to the world of the living anyway, but he still had use of his powers at least and he did what he could to help the vizards, thus proving his innocence in this whole affair. He could not undo the hollowfication, but he could at least save their lives. Thus Shinji in the present thanks Kiske for his help.

Meanwhile, while Ichigo, Chad, Uryu, Renji, and Rukia are in Heuco Mundo, the world of the hollows with the other soul reapers Byakuya, Captain Kuroshuchi, Kenpachi Zaraki, Captain Unohana, and select Lieutenants, Kon and friends of Ichigo have been selected to defend Karakura town from Hollows. These friends include Kiske, Uru, Tatskuki, Keigo, Chizuru, and Don Kanoji.

Kon and his team of misfits have to defeat a hollow fortress that has been seen floating above Karakura town. Each team member provided their own skills and in the end prevailed. Thanks to that, Kiske was able to put the finishing touches on the barrier needed for the battle with Eisen.

The showdown for the royal key is about to begin. Yamamoto has sealed Eisen, Gin, and Kaname in a wall of flame so they don't interfere while the soul reapers deal with the arrancars aka powerful hollows.

Meanwhile, Ichigo has gone to save Orihime once again from Ulquiora.

The 4 pillars that Kiske put up to swap out the real Karakura town had been attacked by 4 hollow dragons. It was up to Shuhei, Izuru, Yumichika, and Ikkaku to defend these pillars from falling.

Izuru got the arrogant dragon, Yumichika got the homosexual dragon, Ikkaku got the strong dragon, and Shuhei got leftovers.

The battle progression in Hueco Mundo is just getting started between Ichigo and Ulquiora.

The homosexual hollow was the first to fall thanks to Yumichika.
