- ■ One of Jessica's closest friends, who was also in her year, was Calliope Whitethorne. With her help, Jess was able to study and do well in Astronomy as her tutor was very into astronomy.
xxxCHARMS ~ EExxx
- ■ Jessica's wand work with performing charms needed a little more work than she had put in to get an O, but she still studied a lot and passed the class with an EE.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Oxxx
- ■ Jessica was skilled in defense against the dark arts. Not only was she good at blocking spells, but her hornbeam wood and phoenix feather core wand was especially useful for defense.
xxxHERBOLOGY ~ EExxx
- ■ Jessica wasn't scared of getting down and dirty in the greenhouses. Aside from learning by participating in the hands on activities, she had also put in effort to studying the different plants, which resulted in her doing well on the exam.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Oxxx
- ■ Jessica did not particularly love History of Magic, but she didn't dislike it either. She found a lot of the history interesting and reviewed her notes as well as the textbook's end of chapter questions, resulting in an O.
xxxPOTIONS ~ Pxxx
- ■ Jessica had always struggled with potions, and unfortunately, her hornbeam wood wand only made things worse. Her lack of potions skills had resulted in a failure in the class even though she received help from Callie when it came to studying.
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Oxxx
- ■ Jessica spent a lot of time and effort studying for Transfiguration as she found it rather challenging. However, she must have put enough effort into it as she ended up with an O on her OWL.

xxxALCHEMY ~ Axxx
- ■ Alchemy was closely linked to Potions, Chemistry, and Transfiguration. Jess was great at transmutating substances, but she lacked preparation in potion-making. However, she at least did well enough overall to have passed her exam.
xxxARITHMANCY ~ Axxx
- ■ Although Jessica was interested, and even did will in Divination, she was not so great at assigning numerical value to words for the purpose of divination. Numbers were not her strong suit, and the only reason she was able to even pass was due to Lochi Bardsdale's help studying.
xxxART ~ EExxx
- ■ Jessica was a great artist in private. If she wasn't submitting an assignment but rather creating for herself, she was able to visually express her emotions and thoughts. However, when it came to an assignment, aka someone else would be seeing it, she tended to hold back a lot. For this reason, she did not receive an O.
xxxCURSEBREAKING ~ EExxx
- ■ Cursebreaking was similar enough to Transfiguration that practicing for one still helped her practice for another. Additionally, she spent a lot of time and effort studying, and proudly ended up exceeding expectations.
xxxDIVINATION ~ Oxxx
- ■ Jessica found the topics covered in Divination quite interesting and even wished that she had magical seer abilities. Although she did not have those types of abilities, she found that her interest had helped her focus remember information and study.
xxxGHOUL AND GHOST STUDIES ~ EExxx
- ■ Jessica was into all things that had any semblance to ghosts or ghouls. Her interest captured her attention in class, so she was able to do well in the exam. The only reason she hadn't received an O is because she focused her studies on tougher subjects.
xxxHEALING ~ Oxxx
- ■ Jessica studied for healing with Calliope as she had for Astronomy, but they also had help from Eden Harper, Callie's boyfriend who was not only exceptional at healing, but he was an upperclassman as well. His help paid off as Jessica was able to do very well in the class.
xxxMUSIC ~ EExxx
- ■ Jessica enjoyed singing and although she enjoyed being noticed by others, she was too shy to comfortably sing in front of her peers. On the other hand, she was able to learn to play instruments and didn't mind performing with them in front of others. Therefore, she did not get the highest grade she could have, but she still did well.
xxxMYTHOLOGY ~ EExxx
- ■ Jessica's interest in Mythology was similar to that of Ghoul and Ghost studies, but only a tiny bit less. Nonetheless, she was good at remembering information that she learned in the class to do well enough on her exam.
xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUNES ~ Axxx
- ■ Jessica's interest in Mythology was similar to her interest in the Study of Ancient Runes, but she needed additional study time if she was going to do very well in this course. She had chosen to focus on tougher subjects, so she did end up passing the exam although she only received an A.
xxxWANDLESS MAGIC ~ Pxxx
- ■ Jessica's lack of self-confidence and her lack of her wand assisting her with magic had resulted in the failure of this class.
