Cracked Egg Egg
Hmm, hmm...
Josen was almost dismissed out of claw, just like the others, but there was a little hint of...something, under the honesty and feelings (eyeroll) that earned him more than just a passing glance. It would stare for what might be an uncomfortably long moment, before deciding, That is quite enough distraction for now, thank you.
Whether the 'thank you' was sincere was rather questionable, given the dry tone with which it was delivered.
Blue Diamond Egg
Watch it!! There are eggs here! What was Oreune doing, trying to break one? Small wonder she's been hurt before, if she's this careless.
0/10, and absolutely no promises it wouldn't tell. She's lucky Mother has more important things to do right now, or it may well have told already. But it's very well aware that its sibling is and should be a priority. So go on then, and for Faranth's sake, watch where you're going!
Grey Starry Egg
After a moment to consider Papys' conclusions, Grey Starry had to admit that he had a point. Friendship wasn't something that could be forced, or coerced. But still, there was nothing wrong with being friendly! And it was sure that more friends yet awaited Papys among its siblings - there were, after all, many good eggs among them!
Raiden's question was quite a weighty one, and Grey Starry took its time to give it all due thought, all the while still brimming with warmth for the Candidate. In truth, it really couldn't tell - all it knew was that everyone it had met so far, Raiden included, was wonderful, and each in their own way! All that was needed to make a rider, really, was for that 'each in their own way' to line up just right with a dragon!
But whether that happened or not wouldn't mean that Raiden had succeeded or failed, or wasted someone's time or not. Trying was never a waste, or a failure! Grey Starry offered him another burst of love: whatever his future held, it was sure he'd be great!
Helloooo Serrekhar! Like all the rest, the Candidate would be wrapped up in friendly greetings and love. It was getting lots of attention, yes, as they all should be! Assuming they all wanted said attention; of course, if any of its siblings wanted privacy, then that was what they deserved! Whatever made them happy. Was there anything in particular that made Serrekhar happy?

While the young man had intended to move among the clutch, he was torn. The Purple & Orange Dapple egg didn't seem to want him to leave, and he also didn't want to upset any of the other eggs by not giving them their due! He was quite torn on what to do. So he remained, caressing the little egg, and properly made much of the egg. Beautiful and smart--what a clever dragonet you are! I'll be eager to see what you hatch into. And look! Here are more to say hello and join your throng. He looked briefly over to Nyviane and Lafyrra before giving the egg one last good rub.
I'll be sure to rave about you once I'm back in the Barracks! Teohe would certainly get an earful, at minimum.
Hoping the egg wasn't offended, he took the opportunity of others arrival to step away. That was quite an experience, for all the Turns he'd stood as a Candidate--surely, the little one in there was a star.
Now... where to next?
The Yellow Swirled Egg caught his eye, and he headed over to give the egg a solid caress. What a colorful egg, you are! So bright and sunny. We're all very eager to meet you. He thought, hoping the little one inside would be receptive. The colorful eggs were all vibrant, but this one was a beauty!

Valendyr
The Bone Egg's response was almost as surprising as its Grey Starred eggmate! While it wasn't as cloying as the grey egg, the wave of protection was quite a surprise. He didn't want the egg to think he was some softy though--which he wasn't, thankyou. I'm all right, honest! He thought, not wanting to reject the egg, but also wanting to make a good impression. Negativity and grief could remain well buried--nevermind what Starry Grey Egg had stirred. Bone Egg was what was mattered, after all. Well, you're very fetching and deserve a good following. Look now, here's Bukichi--he's a good sort, knows some cool knife tricks, too! Not that he expected the egg to care about it but... He was a friend. Maybe Bone Egg would like him, too?

Ah yes, this was a whole lot more along the lines of what Oreune expected in terms of a reception, and she made sure to pull her hand back quickly before allowing any of those thoughts to leak in. The egg clearly wasn't pleased with her and had warned it would tell its mother, so no need to actually....force its....hand? Egg? Whatever.
Slowly she interlaced her fingers together as she backed away, nearly panicking a little at Kleoth's movements but relaxing when the Gold moved on past. An egg was upset? That seemed to happen quite often since the babies inside were still forming and thoughts could be overwhelming, which was all them more reason she kept her hands together as she sort of...just moved to avoid any of the eggs.
It was important not to bump into one, right? Everything was going just as she thought it would, thought touching two eggs and maybe getting to touch a third was a pleasant surprise. It looked like she might be able, for her movements had her nearly on the other side of the clutch and in front of another small egg.
Head emptied, save for the cheer they were meant, Oreune placed her hand on the Yellow Swirl egg. Hello. You're rather tucked in here, looks cozy. Compared to the word vomits from before, Oreune was practically mute.

Oh, do you? The egg seems to preen a little, leaning into Savindri's palm. You like bold things, huh? Interesting. Now, hold tight. The egg rummages through Savindri's mind, humming and hawing to itself. What the... What??? Really? What is this? It seems baffled, slowly releasing the boy.
The egg seems to latch immediately onto Mhinadi, burrowing into her mind as it searches for something. Ooh... ooh, yeah! This was more like it! Just perfect, even. The being within radiates contentment, brushing up against the girl with warmth. Thanks!
Yellow Swirl Egg
Happy to meet it...? Oh, wow. The egg seems to blossom under Natiri's touch, embracing him with warm affection. This egg is happy to meet you, too! As for what it's looking for.... um.... It... doesn't really know. Is that okay? Maybe it should be more prepared but... well, there are so many interesting people here today!
If an egg could duck its head and blush, this one would. Aww, really? Well, this egg was just as excited to meet Haraven! He seemed like a really nice person... Um... But had they met before? No? This egg could have sworn.... Mmm... It trails off and seems to grow quiet, lost in its own thoughts.
Hello! Yes, it is rather cozy... Would Oreune like to sit with it for a while? The egg practically radiates warm, fuzzy thoughts, but they aren't overwhelming. It would like nothing more if she stopped to enjoy herself... but it would understand if she chose to move on, instead. Its siblings were still out there, after all! But if she did stay... well, that would be delightful.
Brown Striped Egg
It waited patiently for a moment, but... What was this? Was no one coming visit? And why, precisely, was that? Was it not a fine egg? Did it not deserve to be appreciated and admired? It wiggled with agitation, huffing to itself.

Teal Rosette Egg
Matotoka would find Teal Rosette listening with interest. Sugar, that is the safest answer you could have given me--but it was honest. Thankfully, there was no real offense in this egg's words, just soft commendation. Whatever burden you're carrying, though, you don't have to do it alone. You're not alone, you're not unloved, and if you fall, or need rest, others will be there to lift you back up. You just tell Teal Rosette all about it if you need to unload. It's secret is safe with it!

Sort of.
For even as it offered Matotoka some genuine egg support, it was also more than happy to chatter to Tihroket. Oh boy, look at all those places, people, and things that you know and have met! Oh, do tell this egg--it wants to know all the details so it can tell its mother and clutchmates! Pull up some sand and wallow right in.
As for the secret affair, my goodness, the Candidate said they were boyfriends! BOYFRIENDS. But very secretly. They were holding hands and everything. Such charm. Do you think it's just some torrid affair? Or maybe someone is a cheatin'... whatever that is! Any guesses?
Oh! Oh! And here is one of the party in question now.
Nemeryn would be greeted with a wave of sheer delight, as the egg would all but hug the other. Oh ho! So you're the lucky man! How good to meet you-- and don't you worry none about your presentation. You're marvelous, what a fetching catch. If my eggmates can't see how fine a gent you are, then they don't deserve to get to know you! Now, you're just the very person this egg wanted to meet! The delight rolling off this egg is genuine--Nemeryn is clearly a star. I've met someone of importance to you. Or at least, you're of great importance to them... Guess who! The egg wriggled a bit in excitement, certain the Candidate would never guess.
Emperor Penguin Egg
Sioryl would feel the egg give a small snort, though there isn't too much judgment there. At least the boy had some sense and the egg did appreciate that he took suggestions. Luckily for Sioryl, this egg would give him a long, very grave look...and then give the equivalent of a pat on the head. That'll do, Candidate, that'll do. It's seen enough and he may take himself to its other eggmates. Stand tall, don't slouch, and for the love of little green firelizards, don't forget your duty! This is a serious event, after all.

Natiri took little notice of others joining him at the yellow egg, instead offering just it a small smile, and another pat of his hand. It WAS a fine egg, and would no doubt be a fine, fighting-fit dragon too. It seemed humble as well, which appealed to him, and he lingered a moment longer with it, offering gentle touches before quietly recusing himself. There were others to meet, but that was another he'd keep an eye on, come the hatching day. So far the clutch seemed rather nice, even if he was still getting used to feeling... thoughts? Almost-thoughts? In his head.
So where next? He skirted near to Fyfy, catching her eye enough to be sure all remained well (and decidedly avoided where Kleoth was hovering near one of the eggs, wanting to be well out of the way of any trouble). Purple Dinosaur Spotted Egg seemed rather excited, its wiggles drawing the eye, and a moment later, his hand. "Hello in there. I think it is perhaps too early to hatch... but many here would match your eagerness. Better o wait and grow stronger first in there though. We'll wait for you, so there is no rush."

Sablie noticed as Kleoth got up and started to carefully head over to them, as she expected. As they were asked to step back, she nodded her head and took her hand off the egg. Once done, she stepped back, debating if she should go see one of the eggs nearby while the queen was busy or just wait. She knew the gold had things well in han...claw, but she also wanted to make sure the baby inside this egg was fine too. That and she didn't want the baby to think she just left without a good bye. There were a number of eggs nearby, so maybe she could go visit one, just while Kleoth was tending to the baby. She nodded when she made a decision and walked just a short ways away to pink flower egg. She gave Kleoth a thought that she would just be here, just so she wasn't crowding her or the upset egg. Then she placed a hand on the little egg in front of her.
I hope ya been having a good time with all the candidates coming to see ya. Have you been doing well?she asked gently. She made sure the egg knew how pretty it was. She also wanted to make sure there was nothing it needed, that she could do within the rules.

She smiled softly at the wave of affection and love. 'No, this would be the first, and thank you I'm going to see some of your siblings, but hopefully we meet later.' She thought, carefully leaving the egg and looked out. Kleoth was tending to an egg, so she was going to give her some space. And perhaps get out of the candidate huddle. The eggs were so sweet over in this area though.
She stepped out, considering and paused walking to the brown stripe egg.
'Hi, I'm Odellet but Odd works, one of your siblings sort of adopted me as a sister if you want to think of me as such... though that is up to you. ' She said, touching the some what shaking shell. It was truly a gorgeous large egg. 'They have been kind to me, ' she said, following the markings with a finger, letting the dragon consider her.

Nor did Matotoka feel like Teal Rosette Egg didn't particularly like the answer he gave. I do feel I carry unnecessary burden - and it does chafe. His father, in particular, loomed over the young man. But if I don't carry it, there is nobody else to do so. Because the worse thing that could happen would be to offer it another and find that they found him unworthy of such help.
Even if it was unlikely, to a degree.

Ah, he had been most soundly dismissed and Josen at least took it in stride. "Sounds good," he said, giving the shell a (very gentle) pat before taking in stock of the other eggs.
It seemed that Brown Striped Egg was absolutely wanting for attention, in that it seemed to have less hands on it than several of the other eggs did. The young man placed his hand gently upon the shell, crouching in the sand next to it.

Sioryl held his breath just a bit as he waited for the Emperor Penguin Egg to pass judgement. Once the little mental headpat and the advice came he let his breath out with a grin on his face.
"Yes, egg!" he said cheerfully before pulling his hand away. He walked off to the next egg with his back straight and his head held high, full of duty and purpose and giddy excitement. There was only so much he could do to act like the egg had told him to and only so long he could hold up the attempt at being stoic and stern before it all crumbled back to his usual happy, excited self.
"Hello in there," he said as he rested his hand on the shell of the Pink Flower Egg. "And what are you like? I've met one of your siblings that is very excited and happy and another that's kind of serious...but I think they might enjoy a little fun from time to time." He waited with curiosity pouring from him, eagerly awaiting the reply.

The flinch made Surel frown just a bit and the reply almost made her linger, but she didn't wish to upset the Spiderweb Egg.
"Everyone is worthy of attention," she said gently. She knew what it was like to struggle to find something she was 'the best' at. Someone always seemed to be smarter or braver or faster or stronger or nicer or prettier, but she tried not to focus on that and just be the best Surel she could be. "And you're no exception. It's okay to not be the best at everything. You're the best you." She lingered just a second longer to hopefully let the egg feel her sincerity, that she wasn't just saying that to say it, but let it have its peace. She moved on, deciding to check in on the egg next to it just to see what the Spiderweb Egg had meant.
"Hello," she said softly in greeting, her hand pressing against the shell of the Purple & Orange Dapple Egg. "I hope you've been enjoying yourself in there."

Tihrokat - He/Him
While Tihrokat didn't exactly pull up some sand - that seemed inadvisable - he did sit after only a moment of consideration. He'd seen someone else doing the same, after all, so he assumed it was alright. The sand was quite warm, but he paid it little attention, as he had a friend to talk to! He also couldn't help but notice that another Candidate was lingering as well, and flashed Matotoka a beaming smile. Maybe that was someone he could make friends with! Later, of course, since the most important thing right now was eggs. In the meantime, everything that Tihrokat had experienced was readily offered up to Teal Rosette Egg, all the juicy details of life as a pirate...though he had not been a very good one, and as such had not participated in much actual piracy himself, he'd still had some adventures, and met no few colorful people (like the handsome felinehandler whose partner had had such pretty spots!), and things had mostly turned out alright, excluding matters involving one very not-nice brother. But even that was okay, more or less! He kept it out of his mind, for the most part.
But at any rate! BOYFRIENDS! The Candidate leaned in intently as he listened to the egg describe the situation. Maybe they're new boyfriends? he posited after considering it for a moment. They can't be too worried about it staying a secret if they're holding hands where other people can see.
And ohhhh? Unable to help his curiosity, Tihrokat glanced up at Nemeryn, though covered it with a friendly grin and was quickly back to having his eyes on the egg. Nope, nothing suspicious here, just being polite to his fellow egg-touchers!
Savindri - He/Him
Savindri didn't mind the digging or the hemming and hawing that Bee Egg did - he'd been through enough Touchings that it didn't phase him (though, to be perfectly honest, there wasn't much that phased the easygoing boy). The egg did seem very confused by something it found, but he wasn't sure what...but as it didn't seem alarmed by whatever it was, then neither was he. It let him go, so he gave it a pat and away he went, off to visit Purple Dinosaur Spots Egg. Hello! he said, cheerful as ever. You're a very itneresting shade of purple, you know. I mean...not that you can see it, but I'm sure someone's told you by now.
