Akihito shouldn't have left the Lunarie lands -- his father would worry. He just felt uncomfortable in their lands, often struggling between restlessness and tension. The tribe was stagnant and he had yet to dedicate himself to it. He was overstaying his welcome at this point, especially as he was now an adult and was expected to make his decision. His family was in Lunarie; his uncles, his grandmother, his sibling, his father. Of course he wanted to be with them, but he also didn't want to promise himself to a land that might be forgotten. He struggled with that commitment -- struggled knowing that this grand decision could trap him in dying lands.
So, he had snuck out without a word to his family.
He'd be back -- he always came back! But Akihito was eager to explore the land surrounding. The night sky was beautiful and he loved to gaze at it (ironic, due to the tribe he was born within). He really would perfectly fit within Lunarie back when it thrived. He padded through the plains and kept his head raised, fondly noting the stars and constellations he knew.
Beautiful.
He came to the hill without issue, head lowering only when he almost tripped up the climb. His cropped ears flicked, paws digging into the dirt until we was safely on top. Until he saw her.
Oh.
She was beautiful.
Akihito felt his heart flutter once, swallowing back the nerves that spread through his heart. She looked like the night sky herself! It wasn't like him to approach another, but she sat so still by herself, glittering under a sky befit a queen. Akihito had wanted to meet someone new, anyway -- someone not a part of his homeland. Someone who might help him make his decision. It almost felt fated, and he wasn't one to challenge that.
"Hello," he whispered, padding up to her side, keeping a respectful distance as he settled down. "Are you a star?"
