⇨☾⇨In the beginning, Lord Death created the universe in which Prosperity & Ruin inhabits. This universe began with only the dimension of the known world which includes Death City and the DWMA. Lord Death believes in the balance of the mind, body, and soul and created the world based on that. However, Lord Death is not the only deity. The Witch Queen is his antithesis deity who is a goddess of mysticism rather than Lord Death as the god of the soul and cycle of life and death. Magic was not created by the Witch Queen, rather she is the product of the powerful and mysterious force of magic. She is the most powerful Witch and later on created the realm of Arcana. Lord Death and the Witch Queen each want to collect as many Kishin Eggs as possible. Lord Death created the Death Weapon Meister Academy to train Meisters and Weapons to prevent the creation of Kishins. Weapons eat the Kishin eggs and Meisters absorb them. Witches absorb the power of the Kishin Egg and use their immense power to channel into the Conduit of Arcana. This is an alternate universe created by Lord Death with many similarities to the canon but lacking canon events and characters.

⇨☾⇨The enigmatic force of Madness is central to the storyline of Prosperity & Ruin. Madness is a force beyond magic and the soul that is the essential counterbalancing force of chaos in the world. Lord Death and the Witch Queen sought to create a world based on order in their own opposing ways. However, Madness appeared outside of the creation of Lord Death and the Witch Queen. It is essentially the entropy of the universe itself. When there is birth and prosperity there must be death and ruin to achieve balance. Meisters, Weapons, and Witches alike strive for prosperity and order against ruin and chaos by combatting madness. Some seek to learn the power of madness but may fall into it themselves. It is a double-edged sword that is viewed with suspicion by the DWMA and the Grand Coven of Arcana. As of late, madness has been spreading across the world exponentially from an unknown, potent source and is a mystery to even Lord Death and the Witch Queen.

⇨☾⇨The Pull of Magic is the consequence of the force of magic itself. It is the source of ambition and obsession for Witches. The only Witches who are immune to the Pull of Magic are those who have learned Regeneration Magic. Occultist Witches feel the pull of magic as they delve into the old mystic art of Transformation and the ravenous existence of a bloodsucker or werewolf. Necromancers feel the Pull of Magic for defying the Cycle of Death. Necromancers are particularly reviled by Lord Death and his cleric followers because of this defiance through undeath. Finally, sorcerers are the most easily susceptible to the pull of magic because of their general obsession with learning as much as possible to advance their demon tools.
