Here is a PSA about the characters explaining about Shopping Spree and its invitations to a Birthday Party!

This is for those who are unfamiliar with the Freeform TV Show that ran from 1996 to 1997, that asks a Best Day Ever question:
"What if every time you went Window Shopping, someone comes along your way and brought you everything you wanted?
Sounds like a dream right? We know."

The Guild Owner looks at a Window Display set of a Television Show that no one has seen in years on Freeform. Then the boys with their mermaid sweethearts enter the Player's Room.
Guild Owner: Hello again. I found something that no one has ever seen before. Something I saw when Channel browsing as a kid once.

Really? Care to tell us?

Guild Owner: It was Spring 1996 when it happened. Has anyone heard of this Rare Television show called Shopping Spree?

Is that where everyone goes crazy in a Supermarket?

Guild Owner: No, that's Supermarket Sweep, which I already talked about.

Is that where everyone goes crazy in a Shopping Mall preforming stunts?

Guild Owner: No, that's Shop Til You Drop, which I also already talked about.

Then I have no idea. Maybe you can tell us more? Dranor said as he sat on the Narrator's bed.

Guild Owner: Sure. Have a seat because since last time...
Hang on. The Narrator heads for a lunch he can't miss.

Guild Owner: This next game I hope to discuss is an Adaptation of a Children's Game. What I mean by that is where most Adult Television Games are about winning the Grand Prize. This is another one of those Exceptions. It's the Game where "Dreams Do Come True on Shopping Spree"!
The 1980s & 1990s were the best of times for Television Games. Shopping Spree was next in line but came out near the end of The Family Channel's Era.

Guild Owner: The reason why Shopping Spree came out near the end of The Family Channel is because it looked Rushed Out when The Family Channel became Fox Family then ABC Family and finally, Freeform.
The game begins with an animation shot of 2 window shoppers and a summery of what appears to be "Best Day Ever"... Along with the following Narration;
"What if every time you went window shopping, someone comes along your way after you and brought you everything you wanted? Sounds like a dream. We know."
We are then shown the main set in animated form then in real form along with its theme of Window Shopping.
Unlike Supermarket Sweep where you have an entire Supermarket and Shop Til You Drop where you have an entire shopping mall, on Shopping Spree, you can have what you see in a Store's Front Window Display.
Think of this this way... You're just window shopping one day and then someone comes your way and purchases everything you wanted but it has to be has to be within that window display.
Ron Pearson was the residing host for Shopping Spree. At this point we're introduced to the Showcases where another turn takes place where a Random Audience Member where they pose as Denise or Dennis DuJour. This is where every window display gets their shot in the spotlight.

Guild Owner: Well, the Host instead of the announcer does the prize readouts. These Store displays range from...

All these also include a note for fun.
But before I continue, the Grand Prizes were really exciting. But like the Children's Television Games I talked about, it was more fun to play than to win.

=Costumes=
Guild Owner: Now as for the 2 Teams. One of them is shown wearing a costume which looks like it was from the Set of the Monty Hall Era of "Let's Make a Deal". As this is intentional. The First two players already picked out items from the Store's Window Displays along with clues about themselves to make it easier for their teammate to shop for them. The catch is they do not know what the items or stores are going to be. So they bring items that defines them. However, there is one more clue that they are unaware of as its also a clue for that player's teammate. Watch...
The Narrator strikes a pose in a Warrior of Light Costume from the Final Fantasy 1 FMV Cutscene.

Guild Owner: These poses are entirely up to the player where the host has a comment or 2 about it. After this, we are introduced to the other teammate who pose as a Shopper. After an introduction, that Shopper is introduced to his or teammate & asked about the pose that he or she is doing. Even if that Shopper guesses correctly or not, there's no indication if that player is right or wrong which has a point or counterpoint following. So here's an example, what do you think this is...


So, what do you think the Narrator's doing, Nilima? Does he look like he's about to fight a dragon? Dreden asks Nilima about the Narrator's pose example from Shopping Spree.

Guild Owner: Could be... But on the other hand, he maybe letting his party know that his sword works! *laughs* That's a joke.


So what's the point in this pose deal anyway? Are you about to cross the Atlantic in that pose? Eldin couldn't guess what the pose the narrator is doing.

Guild Owner: Well, not really. On Shopping Spree, having fun with a pose is pretty good while the person in costume is attempting to get his her point across while reviewing the clues that team has to have an open mind. The Shopper has to look at the items that his or her teammate have in costume to get an idea of what that person wants. Afterwards the Team interview continues and then gameplay begins.

So, what's the gameplay of Shopping Spree like? Dranor asked Ariane, so she can ask the narrator.

=Round 1: Window Shopping Time Attack Part 1=
Guild Owner: In Round 1, all store displays are lit up and the round begins Act 1.
The First Team has all the time in the world to complete the shopping spree to match the clues on what the player is wearing in costume. Their time will be the time that Team 2 has to beat. The shopper rushes to a window display to pick an item to which he or she thinks that the teammate wanted then bring it back to say what the item is. A correct answer would have the player deposit the item into the shopping bag.
An incorrect answer would have the player wait at the center square until the host reads an additional clue.
After all 6 Window displays are cleared, its time for a commercial break for Team 2 to attempt to beat Team 1's time but also to see which team becomes champion and advances to the Birthday Party Bonus Round.

Drenden asked a question Are there any differences in the second half of Round 1 after the break?

=Round 1: Window Shopping Time Attack Part 2=
Guild Owner: Team 2 follows the same format as Team 1 did in the First Half of Round 1 but with one minor change as Team 2 has to beat Time 1's Time. The Times for both teams decide which team advances to the next round & to the Birthday Party Bonus Round.

What's the second round of Shopping Spree like? Eldin whispered to Aulona, hoping see can ask the narrator the question.

=Round 2: Denise/Dennis DuJour's Double-Up Derby=
Guild Owner: The Second Round of Shopping Spree is called the Denise or Dennis DuJour's Double-Up Derby.
Denise or Dennis DuJour, is a member of the audience picked out at random. First, the host mentions that regardless of the outcome, they will get $100 as their salary which leads to them giving a comment about it.
In season 1, Denise or Dennis would pick an item from one of the 6 store window displays.
In Season 2, one of the stores are labeled as a "TouJours DuJour".
But its played the same way. First, we are given a brief description about the Denise or Dennis on the Center Platform. The Team must then choose one of 4 items that Denise or Dennis chose. A correct answer grants that Denise or Dennis that prize as well as Double the Grand Prize Money for the Team. After that, it's on to the Birthday Party Bonus Round.

What's the bonus round of Shopping Spree like? The Narrator mentioned the Birthday Party Bonus Round twice already. Eldin whispered to Aulona, hoping see can ask the narrator the question.
