Ty had just finished setting aside a freshly baked tray of cookies and wiped his hands on his apron when he was gently poked on the hand by a tiny cookie cat. Smiling, Ty gently tickled the little cookie feline before scooping 'her' up to set on his shoulder. "Ah, thanks for reminding me, I had almost forgot! I'm... supposed to meet someone?" he said, half as a reminder to himself, half as a question.

Glancing over at the clock, he slightly frowned. "Hmmm, they are late?" he said before the cookie cat smacked her tiny crumbly paw into his cheek. "Alright alright, so am I." he chuckled, shaking his head gently. He was always surprised how much personality these little bakers helpers had, from watching his Mom's helpers as he grew to discovering he could do the very same, only with animal shaped cookies. It was something that just brought him joy.

Plus, they really did help him remember things when he got lost in the baking process.

"Alright, so he should be here, somewhere. Maybe he's waiting outside. Let's take a look shall we?" the fluttercorn smiled, taking off his apron, folding it near perfectly save for one stray corner and setting it on a clean counter. Grabbing his shades off a hanger on the wall he slipped them over his eyes in preparation for the bright light that would soon beam in from outside.

And as it did so, he laughed, still bringing a hand up to his face to shield more rays before he fully stepped outside, letting the breeze shake his sprinkle covered mane and tail. "Now.... where.....might....they....Ah?" he said, spotting a new face in town and walking up excitedly.

"Valko, right?"

Valko had seen his children return with sweet treats many times when Hatil had taken them on basket thieving runs.

Then the kids started stealing sweets when not getting baskets. No amount of disproving looks stopped Mossy and Speckles from heading over to the village to steal snacks almost every day.

How the family had manged to avoid being banned from the village is a strange miracle. One that would not last if the kids kept stealing allll the cookies and cakes and pastries they could get their little talons on.

He knew no amount of trying would get Hatil to stop the basket stealing. She had been doing it long before he moved in after all. But if he could make snacks maybe the kids would stop being such pests to their neighbors.

On a previous theft run he managed to secure a meeting to learn how to make these treats while Hatil raided the baskets.

That meeting was now and he was running late. Hatil's learning to fly training had gone on longer than intended. His bestest friend could be very stubborn and refused to let him leave until he manged to at least glide a bit instead of falling like a rock when jumping off their house.

He had started learning with his chicks who took to it like well birds. He on the other hand was terrible. His wings had gotten weak from lack of use but where slowly getting stronger the more he practiced.

He hurried over to the meeting spot to find a winged fauny with a cake-thief cat on his shoulder.

"Yes" He responded as the other asked his name. So this was who he was supposed to meet. His name was "Tiger Honey?" Best to confirm it was who he was supposed to meet and not someone who is supposed to take him to that guy.

Grinning, the fluttercorn shot the demon two thumbs up before pushing his shades up into his sprinkled mane to hold it out of his face. "Sorry about being a bit late, as you can imagine.... sometimes things in the kitchen can get away from you." he chuckled as the tiny cookie on his shoulder did a couple circles with its cat tail up, pawing the air towards Valko.

Ty tickled the cat cookie on the head again before doing his best to slap his business face on, at least for his dads sake. "Let me be the first to officially welcome you to Breeheart!" he said, throwing his arms out to gesture around at the town, grinning. He had to admit, what his siblings and him built was really starting to bustle. Though the reason this demon seemed to be here was an interesting one.

"So you want to learn to bake, right? What better place to start! You said your ambitions to learn were......for your kids?" he asked softly, trying to make casual conversation while also getting some facts straight.

Mostly to see if he, himself, understood right, not that that would stop him from teaching the guy to bake anyways. Being in the kitchen surrounded by the smells of pastries and other treats was a blast! If not sometimes very hot.

Valko nodded as the other apologized for being late. Not that Valko had noticed since he was even later. Hmm that means he should apologize as well right?

How to do that the dog demon did not know. He was never good with words. After a moment he settled on saying "sorry. flying hard." yes that should clearly get across that he was late because flying is hard to do. Although the other does have wings and can probably fly well like Hatil. Oh well.

He smiled as the other welcomed him to the town. It was a nice looking place. It seemed Cozy.

He nodded as the other asked if he wanted to learn to bake followed by a second nod and a wagging of the tail at the mention of his kids.

Yes must learn to bake to prevent theft by children.

Ooooooooh......

Oh.

Ty managed to smile before waving his hands and chuckling. "All.. good!" he said, thinking he understood what the other meant. He seemed more expressive with physical actions than words. But hey, Ty was going to do his best not to judge. Breeheart welcomed just about anyone after all.

The tail wagging seemed like the other was happy so Ty simple nodded his head and motioned for Valko to follow. "Right this way then! We can start with seeing what you already know then going over the basics!" he said, hoping Valko knew at least something about baking, otherwise this was going to be a very long process...

At least it was going to be doing something he loved!

Valko couldn't be any worse than Peony.... could he?

Valko followed along listening as TY talked about stuff and asked him if he knew the basics.

Hmm basics of baking? "Egg, flour, mix." It involved mixing eggs and flour that much he knew. What else you put in it beyond that before putting it in the oven he didn't know.

He did know that just mixing eggs and flour and baking it lead to very upset children.

Which is why he had given up trying to make cookies on his own.

It was a small miracle that borkbork, the flour sack had not been ransacked for flour yet. Partly because it had become a pillow to his children.

Even though they had gotten (re: stolen) fluffy comfy pillows from Las Venus they still liked their flour sack best.

Borkbork is as great full as a flour-sack can be for not losing his innards.

Eggs, Flour, Mix.

He wasn’t wrong….and yet. Valk had a bit more to learn. Ty chuckled. “Yes yes. But don’t forget you can add things into the mix!” He said as he paused in front of a building, opening the door to allow the other to step inside. This wasn’t really a guest building to be visited, but more so Ty’s own private home but its where all his tools were so he made an exception this one time.

Leading Valko to the kitchen, he first grabbed a bag of sugar. “Add sugar to your mix to give it sweet flavor! Otherwise whatever you make with your eggs and flour will have no taste.” He smiled as he reached over for a jar, took the lid off and held it out towards Valko. “Try one!” He smiled.

They were, of course, normal cookies.

Not the animal shaped ones that made others make animal sounds because of his powers.

Ty wasn’t gonna do that to Valk….. at least not yet.

Valko nodded making mental note. Sugar was important. It explained by Moss and Speckles where less then pleased with his previous attempts (other than burning them off course,) baking on a rock over a fire is much different than an oven after all. So leaving it for the instructed time left it under cooked but then he got distracted and wasn't watching them so they ended up burning.

Valko gently took the cookie and took a bite out of it. It was very sweet. He was starting to see why the kids kept stealing them.

"Yummy"

"Yes! Yummy!" Ty chuckled, placing the cookie jar back and putting the lid back on. He reached over into a cooler box and grabbed a bag of tiny bits of chocolate in the shape of little tear drops. "You can also add these! Kids especially seem to enjoy the chocolate bits in them. But you can add a whole bunch of other things we can go over later." he smiled, not wanting to bum rush the poor guy with too much in one day.

Which speaking of... "Valko? May I ask how long you'd like to stay here and learn?" he blinked, wondering if the guy had a time line and needed to be back or if he had intended to stay a few days? Either way, Ty had already committed to doing his best so that the demon left a much better chef than when he arrived.

At least for baking cookies.

Valko tilted his head as he thought about when he needed to be back. He spent a few moments thinking about what was needed to be done around their place and when it should be done by.

"Dusk Tomorrow" He said with a nod. Yes that should be enough time to learn but not long enough for hatil to get to sad. It was a mean thing to make one's bestest friend feel lonely after all.
