The Game is played with pairs of Players on 6 teams as they go through physical challenges with an ancient setting and general knowledge questions, as it is centered around a temple that is "filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards" The teams compete to retrieve one of the artifacts in the Temple by performing physical stunts and answering questions based on general knowledge. After 3 elimination rounds, only one team remains, who then earns the right to go through the Temple to retrieve the artifact & escape with it to win the Grand Prize.

Nate swings on a Tarzan Vine as he reaches the Steps of Knowledge and lands on them. Nate Shapiro: Thank you! Nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple! As you can see, it's Olmec's Temple & the rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which legend are we going to hear about today?

*Round 1: Moat Crossing*
Nate Shapiro: They'll have to pass some pretty tough physical and mental tests and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec's temple. But first, they'll have to cross the Moat and Olmec's going to tell them how they'll have to do it today.
Olmec: Before you is a floating ring you're sitting on. When Nate gives the signal, one team member will pull themselves across the moat as quickly as possible. Once across, that team member will get off the ring and toss the ring back to his or her teammate. The other Teammate will then need to cross the same way as his or her teammate did. When the other teammate is across, he or she will jump off the raft and hit the Gong. Nate Demonstrates by hitting the Green Gong.
Olmec: The first 4 teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!
Nate Shapiro: Alright! Teams, are you ready?

The Boys do their best to Cross first. *Nate's Commentary* Nate Shapiro: Looks like they're out in front. Looks like a close match and now it's the girls' turn to cross! The boys tosses their floating rings back into the water so the girls can cross next once they pulled the rings to their side.

*Round 2: Steps of Knowledge* Nate Shapiro: As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about The Legend of the Tell-Tale Synthetic Heart of Clockwork. However, Pay close attention because your knowledge of the legend could bring you a step closer to Olmec's temple.
Stock Footage in sepia tone is shown to illustrate the legend. Olmec: One of the most dangerous thieves in the Sly Cooper Games is the Robotic Owl known as Clockwork. Once a Russian Owl born by natural means but consumed with jealousy for the Cooper Clan's Heroic Reputation with the intention of wiping out a Rival Family Line along with that first thought to replace his mortal animal body with soulless machinery & his own acts of Revenge made him into an immortal owl of Terror. He caught up with Conner Cooper and had Sly Cooper sent to the Happy Camper Orphanage, where Sly met his pals Bentley and Murray which turned out to be the friends and family that Sly Cooper needed. 2 Years after Sly Cooper 1, Sly Cooper was able to put an end to Clockwork's Reign of Terror. But by Sly Cooper 2, Clockwork returned in Pieces after a Crime Syndicate known as the Klaww Gang stole the parts and made off with them. After the Rajan's party was in ruins, the Cooper Gang tracked Rajan down to Spice Valley. As the Spice Lord converted an old abandoned temple into the centerpiece for his Klaww Spice Operations & housed the Clockwork Heart. But Neyla betrayed Sly Cooper's Gang and left them out to dry for the Prison Warden Contessa to be arrested after the Clockwork Heart was captured and Rajan was defeated along with his Spice Temple buried in a flood after the Hydro Dam was blown apart. But that's not all... Legend also has it that the Thievius Raccoonus makes notes of the Clockwork Heart being composed of Rare Metals that it is a Tell-Tale Synthetic Kind which is a Tireless Pump Organ that increases Production 10 times the Normal Rate. However, the Clockwork Heart did find its way into the Temple. Your Quest is to find the Tell-Tale Synthetic Heart of Clockwork & bring it back here...
