Ares stretched his wings as the new uproar was finally settling. Erik had ******** up another relationship, not to Ares’ surprise. His father didn’t seem to have a committal bone in his body. Not that it was his fault, he was just a free spirit and couldn’t be contained to one place long. His disappearing acts were known to him since he was a foal. It was his own undoing, and he knew Sekhmet needed more. It was in her eyes, and even for Ares it was painful to see. He hoped that some day his father would get his s**t together respectively, but to be fair Ares was far from having his own affairs in order. He, like his father had troubles settling. Although his father would make commitments to his partners, Ares had a fear that he would turn into his father in that way. Something he didn’t wish for any partner that he loved. Instead he roamed the world alone and never settled although his heart longed for more lasting friendships and relationships. However, it was Ares who always got stuck in the ‘what if’ instead of actually letting something play out.

His cool blue eyes searching the sea of white for any form of life, it was the perfect day for a flight. The air being cool, was nice to not overheat. His black speckled wings outstretched as he ran into soaring above the lands. The wind under his wings was refreshing. He had the goal to make it to the great lake, he hadn’t been there since he was a child and was curious to see if it had frozen over yet. It was a bright, sunny day so the ice would be a sight to see if it didn’t blind him first.

Creme Yvette had taken her first journey from home, and part of the mare wondered exactly why she had chosen winter to do it! The ice and snow had blanketed much of the Kawani, and it meant her days were often spent seeking shelter, or scouring the land for something halfway edible. She was not at all in her element, and yearned for the warmth of spring.

But the young mare wasn't known for her pessimism, and did her best to find the silver lining. She wasn't that far from her homelands, and if she absolutely had to could return home within a few days travel. Additionally, the sights were new--even if they were snow covered! She was truly in a foreign land, and she was eager to discover more about it. While she had, perhaps, been afraid that she would be gobbled up by a Walker her first night from home, her biggest fears had yet to be realized. Nothing awful had happened to her, and besides scouring for food, things had been quiet. Maybe, even, perhaps, too quiet. She hardly met a soul, and sometimes felt like she was well and truly alone! Perhaps the Soquili of the land were hibernating, or tucked away with family; or maybe they all wandered south, or found hideouts to retire to for much of the coldest months. Or, maybe still, she was simply unlucky and kept missing a more friendly face...

Well, it was no matter.

At present, the mare had found herself approaching what seemed to be a great lake, covered in ice and snow. She knew she likely stood out like a sore thumb -- her bright coat certainly did little to hide her, especially surrounded by white. Slowly but surely, she made her way towards her destination, unaware that any company she might seek would require her to look up.
