It was
cold!
After living in the valley beyond the pass one would have thought Larissa should be used to sub zero temperatures such as these and while she may have been thick skinned and capable of shouldering low temperatures to an extent, this blizzard had really tipped the scales in to a minus she was most uncomfortable with.
Another, more pressing matter, was that she had gone and wandered off. Of all the times, though if she were to be honest with herself, every time, they went out to gather she would be off adventuring on her own or making mischief with a collection of other gatherers. This time she had regrettably gone on her own and as if she was being punished for her recklessness, was caught unaware by the raging storm.
It had been hard to see with the pelting snowflakes and visibility had been little to none. Had she have been with the rest of the group, they would have found what shelter they could and would have huddled together for warmth to fend off freezing to death, only Larissa had no such luck and since her sister had joined them outside the border of the herd grounds this time, had made quite a spectacle of going-it-alone.
Instead she had at first instinct panicked, looking around at the raving grey shadows of surroundings that used to make sense but had been eaten by the icy wind and snow cloud. After pushing through to a cluster of berry bushes and evergreens she had torn away the branches and leaves and managed to bury herself away beneath a makeshift blanket of foliage until the storm had come to pass, leaving the land drowning in snow.
She pushed up against the heavy blanket and shook off the remainder of the snow, looking around at the deserted landscape.
"Bridgette!?" She called out.
"Hellooooo? Anybody??"
