Suika had previously spent his days as a body guard, wandering the lands rather aimlessly and following every step his ward took without question. When he and the one he was protecting eventually parted ways, Suika realized he had never truly known what it was like to be uncertain about life until that point in time. What was he to do next, he wondered? He had no idea. So he did what he had only known how to do, wander and continue wandering, allowing life to lead him forward in to the unknown.

He found himself in the company of a two-legger who was carrying bags on his back far too big and heavy in comparison for his frame. He admired his dedication, not once did the old man complain and even when he tripped on his step and fell to a knee, he just claimed he needed a rest. Suika of course didn't understand what the man was saying but he could guess. Maybe it was instinct or old habits that he was yet to fully shed but he decided to lend the man a hand. In return the man had offered him some special fruit and vegetables he had steamed and pickled in his mountain chalet.

Suika had never tasted anything so delicious! So of course, not having any other purpose in life and enjoying being rewarded for his efforts, he decided to stay by the two-leggers side and live his life helping him deliver his product to different villages and settlements in the land.

Having lived in the snowy mountains for some time now, Suika was somewhat used to the cold and snow however he had the hot springs to warm him whenever he wanted or needed to rid the chill from his bones. Now, he had no such option. Carting a haul of goods on his back, the stallion had been unlucky enough to be caught in the storm on his way to make a delivery of steamed and pickled edibles to the settlement. It was a fair distance and every hoof-print that sank in to the soft white of the plain felt like it was plunging in to a sink hole. He stopped in his tracks, his breath laden, as he stared at the endless stretch of snow before him.
