gonk I am conflicted. What's going to happen to my sub? I love Funimation.

What's next? I'm going to laugh if they come after Gaia next, but I highly doubt it.
It could allow for advertising and funding, bringing in a new generation of Gaians and having direct access to anime streaming of all free anime with friends, but the site is so dated I highly doubt they'd do that. They've tried streaming before and I feel it's cost them too much in the past. sweatdrop

Myself, I'm not committed to any streaming services at this time, but have a "high-speed cable package" on an old-school television set. I'm happy that I can get Adult Swim for comedic animation and CTV's SCIFI channel for Star Trek.

I remember when Gaia tried to promote films at Gaia's Virtual Movie Theatre -- the first time during product promotions (Coraline + House Bunny as examples) and the second time with time schedules to watch films while queuing up. (Several films were listed with movie posters to select from.) But I found the lag so bad, that this destroyed the "Gaia sharing with friends" experience. (Oh, those times being stuck in the lobby -- glancing at the computer clock every few seconds!)

These days I can get CTV.ca for free on my laptop -- and the selection of classic movies have been very worthwhile. My "high-speed cable package" covers this laptop's streaming as well -- so, truly, no added cost for watching the shows and movies.

My hubby is dedicated "old school," preferring listening to the radio over most types of entertainment. So, despite it being 2022, we are still living the life of the 1990's/early 2000's by choice. LOL

Crunchyroll needed this infusion of good blood. High Guardian Spice was an absolute disaster, and I say this as a woke democratic socialist leftist. A rejected pitch from Frederator given the absolute shaft by Crunchyroll execs (Why the hell wasn't the project given any time or money, Sony? You don't make Steven Universe, She-Ra, Owl House, and Avatar by skimping on the damn budget!) This feels like someone took a look at RWBY, thought, I can make this skew younger and write it better, and failed badly. Their sister series, I think a series about Meso-American mythology, is a lot better animated and more coherent because the workers freaking unionized. I think Crunchyroll is being mismanaged, is what I want to say.

im a democratic socialist leftist. Weed just got legalized in our state for recreational sales since April but I’m pissed they are doing it in all the dispensaries that used to be medical marijuana. Now we medical people have to share the same store with all the Rec people including Texas people coming from El Paso where weed is illegal even for medical purposes. Screw Texas. I’m a medical patient. All we get is no tax.

Well, I just take it that I could cancel my Funimation account since I rarely used it as the only anime I watched on there so far was Higurashi Sotsu.

Look at any attendees of an anime convention and you'll see there's fans of anime of all ages.
