A light rain fell from the overcast sky, the dusty ground slowly becoming muddy as the parched earth struggled to absorb the water it was being offered. It had been pretty dry the past few weeks and there'd been concerns of a potential bushfire if rain didn't bless the area soon, but thankfully it seemed the pride wouldn't need to be on high alert. The storm didn't seem like it was going to be a harsh one, keeping dangerous lightning out of the equation.
Pachadi tilted her head back and closed her eyes, accepting the light patter of rain against her face, a little smile on her face. The droplets clung to her fur rather than soaking her, little crystals shining as she moved. She had always enjoyed the thrill a storm brought, the change in temperature and pressure, the startling lightning and the deafening thunder. But storms like this, little passing things...they were her favorite.
Shaking herself to rid her body of the droplets that had accumulated, Pachadi watched a growing puddle before her, her reflection wavering in the ever-moving water. It reminded her of her marking on her flank, wavy and blue and imperfect, of the markings on her paws that made it look like she was ever standing in a shallow puddle. Indeed, her name meant puddle. Perhaps that was why she liked this weather so much...
