The sky was overcast, making it a dreary evening for a walk -- but to Þyrnirós it was perfect; it could only be made better by a thunderstorm, or maybe just a little rain. She strolled along a familiar path that she often took away from her herd's territory, enjoying the fresh air that smelled of impending rain. She watched a small family of mice scurry across her path, presumably on their way home to their dens; she considered snatching one up for a snack, but she didn't feel much like hunting right then, nor was she feeling very hungry. She would've liked to collect new plants to bring home for her garden, but it was difficult without the aid of the herd's familiars; you couldn't exactly pick things up with your hooves, and it was rarely wise to use your mouth to pick them up -- much less flora you didn't recognize. She would occasionally wander out for just that purpose with help, but today she wanted to be alone with her thoughts.

Not that there was much to think about. Her life was relatively easy. Even worse, unexciting. Nothing really happened to her or around her. She enjoyed her gardening and making her poisons, but for what? Outside of testing their effectiveness, they saw little use. She dreamed of one day slipping some to Asmodeus, the stallion who stole away with one of her sisters and tormented one of her eldest brothers, but he was good at staying out of reach. He was a violent sort, too, and she wasn't exactly built for combat.

She wanted to meet someone new, someone exciting -- and that wasn't going to happen holing up in her herd's cave and her beloved garden.

A soft sound, similar to a sigh, escaped the stallion standing with bloodied claws over the prone form of his latest victim. He'd done his job as was expected of him. Seducing this poor fool into the woods and showing them a lovely time, then as they slept he'd slipped his claws across the unprotected throat. His victim had opened their eyes just as his claws had finished their work, had struggled fruitlessly, as their life's blood had spilled across the ground.
He waited till it was over, the struggles ceasing, staring with something akin to boredom in his deep brown eyes.
He did his job, was good at his job, but was he excited by it anymore? Not really. It was always just the same thing over and over. Sleep with them and cut the throat. It was a good trick, to play on lust like that, but it was almost too easy... Lightning cracked across the sky deep within the overcast clouds, and he felt himself smile a bit counting slowly before the deep thunder boomed. A colt game for sure, counting the "closeness" of the lightning but something he still found himself doing even at his age. His eyes strayed down again to his victim, a Cerynei. Lithe of form with a grand rack of antlers upon his brow. His bright blue eyes were wide with terror, the last remnant of life upon the still form. Curse shook his head and turned to a small trickle stream nearby to wash his claws off. It took a bit of work as the blood had dried upon his claws while he stood musing but eventually the running water worked its charms and they were clean. He moved his shoulders experimentally to see how they felt then started off into the woods at a slow pace, ears flicking this way and that to see if anyone was about. His wings he kept folded across his back but even they were at the ready for him to flee if need be. Gods only knew if his latest target had any family nearby. It wouldn't be the first time he'd had to flee from an angry mob when they discovered the remains. He chuckled a bit from the memory.

The spirits must have clearly been watching, because Þyrnirós wasn't far from the scene of the crime when Curse had finished his washing up. She approached from behind, although she had no reason to suspect anyone was nearby, so stumbling upon a dead body was unexpected, to say the very least. She froze in place with a sharp inhale of surprise, her wings flaring out and eyebrows rising in shock. She'd seen plenty of death before, of course -- much of her herd were carnivores. She'd also caused plenty of it herself with her poisons, but that was mostly on smaller critters. She had yet to try them on another soquili. The kill in front of her looked extremely fresh, judging from the way the blood was still oozing from the wounds. Þyrnirós was pulled out from her surprise by movement ahead of her, on the other side of the corpse -- her eyes darted up to spot whom she could only presume was the killer. Her eyes narrowed, but she offered the stallion a smile. "Someone must have had a dreadful day," she cooed, folding her small wings back up again. The temptation to glance back down at the cerynei again was strong, but she kept her eyes firmly locked on the stallion -- it hadn't seemed like he was sticking around to eat his prey, so he hadn't killed for food. She couldn't be certain that she wasn't to be his next victim for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She tiled her head, nodding towards the rack of antlers. "You're not even going to take a trophy home with you? Seems such a waste..."
