Personality:
Hopper is kind, friendly, excitable and brave. Though many underestimate him because of his size. He will always do his best to help people in need. If he can’t help them, he will find someone who can! Don't be fooled though, this bunny is not a weakling and he will fight for himself and those he cares about. Push him too far and he has no qualms about delivering the first blow. In free time he loves to hang out with friends and explore new places, though he is also able to sit quietly with a book. It really depends. When it comes down to his mission he can be quite serious and he is diligent about his job if any. The same goes for exercises, he loves to exercise. His favorite is running and he is tempted to try swimming, but he doesn't know if he wants to commit to that yet. Hopper also enjoys gardens and flowers especially. He is very interested in herbs and flowers and their usages. Hopper would really enjoy it if he had a garden patch of his own.
Bio:
Birth until eight years old:
Oleandor is born on a stormy September 21st, on the farm of his family. Fall had just started and the season was off with a wild start. Unfortunately it wasn’t the only thing that was rough. The birth of Hopper was tough on his mother. A few things went wrong and all of it together resulted in a healthy baby boy, but the mother died soon after he was born. Although grief stricken, his father pulled himself together: for his son. He still had to work though, the farm didn’t run itself. So for the first years his grandmother took it upon herself to raise the young boy. She made sure that he was well taken care of as well as educated. As much as he loved his gran though, Hopper would always be waiting at the door in the evening to wait for his father to come back home. And everytime the man showed up at the front yard, the boy would run and hop towards him to welcome him home. This is how he came to be known as ‘Hopper’ among his family. A nickname given to him by his grandmother. From his sixth age his father started to teach him the other family trade: Karate. Back in Lanrune, Oleandor’s family from his father’s side were part of the winged elite guard which was a rank passed down to every oldest son of the Woods family. His father was the youngest, but the entire family knew Karate and Oleandor being the oldest in his line, had to be prepared for the day where he would find his own charge.
Eight till eleven
When he turned eight years old, this somewhat shifted. As it turned out, his father had a son before Oleandor, which he never knew he had. So the bunny boy would not become a guard after all. Not that he was devastated by this news, he never wanted to be stuck to following some person around. Oleandor preferred working with the land. Noticing this, Oleandor was taken to farm work with his father so he could learn the trade that was taught to him by Hopper’s mother when they started to run the farm together. After all, he was the only heir to the farm now he was free from his other duty. The young boy enjoyed these teachings! And he turned out to be a quick learner. But it soon showed that his heart was not in the entire farming process. He loved growing crops, but flowers and herbs more so and they just didn’t work with those. Oleandor was also gone for longer times and not even his father knew that he was in the nearest human village spending time with friends. It had taken a bit, but after a while some of the children accepted him as one of them, while others bullied him for being different.
They pulled his ears or tail at first until it turned into a mugging of a group of them against just Oleandor. After being beaten up by them, Oleandor was fed up and he used his knowledge in karate to take revenge on them one by one. Of course this news didn’t go over very well with his father when they were told, who always taught him he wasn’t supposed to use his skills in that way. He ended up being grounded for a month and was only allowed to go outside if it was to help with the crops. But his friends were never mentioned. After the punishment was over though his fighting lessons resumed, though he never did get the hang of the whole composure at any time. If he was goaded enough or a friend got in trouble, he always ended up in fights. Besides that flaw though, one couldn’t wish for a better friend or even stranger. As long as he wasn’t taunted he was kind and open
Eleven and up
At eleven was the first time where he saw his own wings. His people tend to get them at the age of seven, but he was a late bloomer on that. After this he also got training and exercises that helped with the summoning and unsummoning of his wings as well as the flying itself. As time passed his father met a new woman too and he remarried. Oleandor didn’t mind, he never knew his mother after all, so the acceptance of this new lady was easy. And it also came with a ray of hope for Oleandor. A year after the marriage he was an older brother to a little sister. Now there were two heirs in the family. His father still took him to the farm but Oleandor still disappeared regularly. By pure coincidence the man finally found out what his son had been doing whenever he was nowhere to be found. He saw him with his friends relaxing together and having fun one day when he had to head into the village nearby for some supplies. He was quite saddened by this. Why had his son never confided in him about these friends and these trips to the nearby village? But he did manage to fit a few pieces which seemed out of context until now. The man did not confront his son there and then, instead he did his shopping and went home.
A new beginning
His father was waiting for him when Oleandor came home that day. Sitting at the table by himself while his wife was tucking in the little girl. He called his son to him, said they needed to talk and this was the first long serious talk between father and son. They spoke for hours, being open and frank after all those years. When Oleandor had gone to bed after his father took the hardest decision he had ever made. Silently he made arrangements with a family he knew that lived in the city, though it was quite far away. But it was clear to him now that his son wanted to explore and see what was beyond the farm, despite his love for the trade. A month later his grandmother, stepmother and his father said goodbye to Hopper and the boy was off to the big city.
Though he loved his own family, Hopper was eager for this adventure and it was hard for him to sit still during the five hour long ride on the train. When he finally arrived he was picked up by the people that he so far only had seen on his father’s birthdays. They welcomed the boy as one of their own and from that day on he lived in the big city. It was a big step at first with all the cars and noise, but he was only thirteen at the time and eventually he became used to it all, yet never lost his farmer’s spirit. Hopper made new friends and he was sent to a normal school which actually had other races but humans as well. The classmates were surprised by his ears and tails as they mainly saw neko, but for once no one bullied him about it. He also started to focus more on running and hurdle jumping as after school activities. It was also this time when he learned all about Tsuki no Usagi or the Moon Rabbit and he adores this tale! Even went as far as to tattoo an image of the Moon Rabbit on his shoulder. Hopper graduated that school with flying colors at age eighteen, and with a few athletic medals won in yearly competitions, and even went to the ball at the end of his last year with a date.
This relationship didn’t last long but it was all part of his new life. Now he had a whole new challenge to overcome: Job hunting. Oleandor had trouble settling in a job and went through a few before he finally started to work as a waiter in one of the restaurants in the city. His speed came in handy here and he was soon promoted as the head waiter. Hopper still served food and drinks around the restaurant but now he was also the go to person for the waiters and waitresses if they ran into trouble or just needed a little guidance.
When he became twenty one, it felt like it was time to stand on his own two feet. He discussed this with his real family as well as the family he had stayed with in the city and they all agreed to find him a great spot to strike out on his own for the first time. Eventually they settled on Soleil and they got him a home together. They also told him that, until he found a job, they would make sure he has all the money he needs as well as telling him to let them know if he needs more. While this wasn’t entirely setting out on his own, Oleandor accepted the offer, as he could see it meant a lot to them all. And he would move miles away after all. After that preparations began. They helped Oleandor to buy things like a tv, a new mobile phone, a laptop, furniture to be sent to that home and more. When the time came for Oleandor to leave, they said goodbye and he promised to call them as soon as he had either a landline or internet, which still had to be set up by the provider but the first steps had been made.
Oleandor has spent a few days in his new home city now and made several friends. He loves flying around, with which he met a local witch) and also met the local coroner who had made a nasty fall after which the bunny took Emi to the hospital to have it looked at. He has visited a few times while they were there and looks forward to the day that they are healthy and whole again.

His martial arts are a powerful skill of his as well as his flying which he does a lot so gets plenty of practice in. His kind and honest personality also help him make friends easily and fit in with the society he is with. With his gardening he also saves money as he grows his own crops when able. While he is looking for a job, he is careful about buying extras because he doesn’t want to bother his family for money too often even though they offered.
Weakness:
While he is kind and friendly, he does get mad easily when he is directly goaded or if he or a friend of his is being bullied and he almost always goes straight to his fighting skills when it happens. While he is strong despite his length, being this short does mean he can’t always reach the upper shelves. So he needs help with that at times as he doesn’t want to summon his wings inside any building afraid to knock anything over.
