Baxt vai' datha Herd is made up of wandering Gypsies and the lost souls they gather into their fold as they travel. As such it is open to anyone who believes people should be judged for who they are, not what they look like and who understand that love isn't a chain to bind someone.
The herd are free spirited in many ways, not staying in one place for long. Many travel together but some wander out on their own for a time. Baxt vai' datha will take in those who wander and are not lost, but has a special place for those who are in need of a herd to call their own. Too often they have found others judge a soq by appearance or mannerisms, even to the point of violence to run them out of a territory. For those of a frightening appearance, Baxt vai' datha becomes the family they have previously been denied. That said, those who are actually intending harm, fear, or chaos are not tolerated.
Baxt vai' datha is very spiritual, well aware the spirits are close and active in their lives. Several of the herd members are a result of the spirits having fun with the mortal world. Depending on the individual you will get different answers as to how that interference is received, but all recognize the power of the spirits in their lives.
The Herd has several mystical members, many proportioning to have one kind of magic or another. Skeptics often point to examples as coincidence, luck, or trickery. But how real their magic is . . . the spirits only know.
For the Baxt vai' datha Herd familiars are full members, especially the mouse clan bonded to many of the members of the herd. Some roles within the herd are doubled, one for the soquili and another for the familiars, but most can be taken by any member so long as they are able to accomplish the task.
* Please note - Gypsy is used as a fictional description based on real people called Roma, Romani, or Travelers. The Baxt vai' datha Herd refer to themselves as Romani.

How to Earn Additional Points
If you are a Herd Helper Newbie (no herd helpers whatsoever, regardless of how they were received or what herd they are part of) you may post this code for a point towards the mare of your choice (this does not give an additional mare option, just adds to your point total for one of the mares you chose).

Background. The following form allows you to post a background for the mare you are posting it for. Backgrounds can be no longer than three paragraphs of up to six sentences each. Much as I enjoy a good, in depth background, reading a lot of them is not something I’ll have time for. Backgrounds can be worth between 1 and 4 points, depending on quality and how well the background aligns with the herd (please remember that entries contrary to the spirit of the herd will not be granted points).

Plots. The following form allows you to post plot ideas for the mare you are posting it for. Each plot should have a short aspect name (a couple words or short phrase that indicate a basic overview of the idea) and up to three sentences with more information. A plots post can be worth between 1 and 3 points (please remember that entries contrary to the spirit of the herd will not be granted points - this does not mean they can’t have something bad happen to them or run into someone who is contrary or hostile to the herd or mare, just that the mare should be a good citizen of the herd).

Art. The following form allows you to post art to gain points towards the mare of your choice for the post. Art can be: traditional or digital art, crafts (this is anything that creates a physical end product in an artistic way), photography, comics, poetry, songs, cooking, short stories, collage/artboard, etc. This is a VERY broad category. Pretty much anything you can think of that you can make that would appeal to or represent the mare or herd is acceptable. Please ensure your Username is visible in at least one of the pictures of the submitted art.
All art MUST be created by the individual entering said art. Please include WIPs if applicable. There is a portion of the form that will allow you to explain why you think this is something that would appeal or apply to the chosen mare. You do not have to fill this out but if an entry is not seen as being applicable, it may not gain points. There is no limit on art posts, HOWEVER, if someone seems to be spamming low quality art they might not get points for entries past the first. This is here to give open, creative options for all kinds of people to be able to enter, not for gaming the system. You are free to enter multiple times, but please take time to ensure each entry is well thought out and executed to the best of your ability within the time constraints of the entries.
You may enter ONE art created before this opened if you feel it is applicable to a specific mare, please indicate when it was made if you do so (particularly for those whose crafts are more time consuming). Every color, shape, and size seems to lend a new creative idea, and it is rare that this mare spends more than a moment with her head outside her craft. Personality:
Vai lives, eats, and breathes textiles and fashion. Be it simple solids or woven beauty, this mare is all about what she can create for others. What rests about their shoulders and hocks means more to her than even breath! This does mean that Vai can be a bit judgmental when it comes to what others wear and how they choose to adorn themselves, and sometimes? It can come across as arrogance. Not that she means it to! Really, she means well in wanting those around her to look their best! Just because sometimes she can be a bit....snarky about how she chooses to express her opinion of what they've chosen doesn't mean she's cruel!
